Yesterday was fun!

I so much enjoyed my boys, my granddaughter, and my nephew over yesterday afternoon.  We sat around the dining room table and talked and ate whatever I could find to fix for lunch.   There was plenty of food and still had some left over - when I sent home with the youngest; rather the nephew, I think, for the youngest didn't eat much.  I think they were all celebrating the spouse was going to be gone for a week.  I sure hope they don't spend it drinking, but do the things they said they were going to do.  My son is so unhappy, I hope he follows through with what he says he is going to do.  I hope that changes his drinking habits too.    My mother always said that she was always afraid to start drinking, because she knew she would be unable to stop.  I think that is where my son is.    He is so unhappy, the only way he can hope to escape the pain of emptiness of relationship is to drink.  I can also relate to that.  Yes, I do have a beer or a glass (or two) of wine occasionally.  Some times I think I could drink the whole bottle, and I really do have to resist.  I completely understand what my son is going through.  I understand what my mother went through.  Life is tough, sometimes.

I had to laugh when my nephew told me that if he had known that spouse was as bad as she is, he would have thought twice about coming out!  In fact, he has already been looking for his own place!  He did take the dishes I had saved back and left in the box, and he took a bowl that my mother had made plus one of the chickens I had gotten from her.  He seemed to be happy about it.

But what really "tickled me pink" what that my oldest son chose two items that I had made years ago (had a date of 10 69 on the back of one) !   I still have several items on that table and I want to check with my daughter again, and the grandchildren to see if they want any.  My youngest did say to just box everything up and he would take them.  I don't think he meant it though.  Basically what no one else wanted, he said he'd take.  He surely didn't mean that.   Or did he?  It would be easy to pass that stuff on  but he doesn't need them either - now or later.

I was able to give away some of the things, but I know I still have a lot of more that is still in storage.  I have got to get back in the garage today - never made it yesterday.  After everyone left, we headed to the store to pick up a few things and then I was too lazy to go out into the garage.  The plan is to do it this afternoon.

We've already watched Pastor Jentezen Franklin this morning, and I've listened to a pastor we know at one of the RV parks we speak at (a friend sends it every week but I've never listened to it until today) and we have our church yet to go in about 40 minutes.  After that I guess that I will figure out lunch and then head out to the garage.  Found two boxes of old tax papers from the 80's and 90's so I'm guessing that it is safe to have those shredded now.  That will be hubby's job.  I'm doing the manual labor and he can do the 'sit down admin job'.  LOL

Today is Sunday and I love watching and listening to Pastor Jentezen Franklin.  Today's message was on the breaking brings the blessing.  Isn't that the truth!  He used the example of the breaking of the 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish for the 5000 men  - not counting w omen and children - and not only did Jesus bless the bread and fish so that it would feed the 5000 men, he blessed it so that it would also feed the women and children, AND still had 12 baskets full of bread and fish left over!   He broke it - so that He could bless it.

Think about it - if you are going through a hard time, financially, emotionally, physically, when we give God what we have, He will take it and bless it.  It may break us for awhile, but when we give it to Him, He will bring good from it.  I've seen that work so many times in my own life.  We've struggled financially many many times.  And as I have cried out to the Lord in my own personal struggles, He answers.  Not always in my own timing, but He orchestrates things so that He can bless me when He is ready to. Sometimes we have to get rid of the old, leave the old, to get the new.

I'm ready for new, aren't you?

Blessings!
