First time.... and more... just complaining....

I reckon this is the first time I have gotten on my new computer to do anything - although I have been set up for awhile. After spending all day ON the computer, I don't relish just sitting and staring at another.

I've been busy this morning already. I fixed breakfast. Then I took the curtains down in the back room and ran through the washer and dryer. Not putting them back up - at least not yet. Still thinking about how I want to do the windows. With them off the windows it sure does brighten that room up. Hubby came by as I was taking the curtains off and asked what I was doing. After I told him I wanted to get them washed, I mentioned I may not put them back up. So then he gets all over me about it gives the room color, etc (and they don't even MATCH the other colors in the room).... I let it go for awhile, but finally told him that I had a question for him - why does he do that? Why does he feel I can not make any decisions about interior decorating? Why does it always have to be what he wants - is that not the room I use for my things? Am I not a part of this house? I told him that when he does that to me (and he has for years) that it demeans me, makes me feel of no value, and pushes me away. He kept interrupting me as I was talking, for whatever reason. I finally just walked away. I told him I was tired of it and I want it stopped. Will see how that goes over for awhile.

I did tell him also that I do NOT do that to him. I don't remind him that I work and he doesn't, and his job is to clean the house and I don't bug him about running the sweeper, dusting, or even mopping the floor - and I can't even remember when was the last time he did it! Even now he is just sitting and watching TV.

So then he asks when I'm going to get curtains for the laundry room - he has asked me several times. Daggone it - can he not go to the store and buy a curtain for the laundry room? Seriously? I don't care what goes in there - I am not allowed to do the laundry. So fine. I got on Smile.Amazon and ordered a curtain and it will be delivered today. Done! Off my list!

So then I attacked the refrigerator. Dumped old stuff, made note of some things I need to replace that had expired, etc. So now I'm being asked when I'm going to the store. I DID say I would go to the store ... I wanted to choose 5 recipes and buy the items for that. But why bother. One recipe will last us three days. I have already made a taco/chili type soup and it's in the crockpot. I have ribs thawed out that I will have to fix tonight. With only being off work Saturday and Sunday, for anything that takes any time, I must do it then. For the ribs I like grilling then baking for awhile. Heaven forbid that someone should take the initiative to ask how to fix them and do it during the week.

Maybe I shouldn't be such a complainer. I don't like to be. But I have been really sick this past week. And it annoys me that my being sick is such an inconvenience. Monday I got sick at work and had to come home. I laid down on the couch about 2:40 (according to my fitbit) and woke up about 7-ish to go to bed (in between a couple calls and being woke up to see if I'm ok) and then I slept until 5AM. I debated on going to work, but staying home and being sick and going to work and getting some things done - I chose work. I took my time and went to work. I still didn't feel good, and it kind of drug on for most of the week. I heard also that 2-3 others got hit with the same thing. Only I didn't have nausea or diarrhea - I just didn't feel good. They say it's a 24 hour virus that makes you sick one day and drags on for another 72 hours. Sounds about right. I'm still fighting an inflamation in my back so hope it goes away soon. Medication is all gone, and I go back to the doctor in June.

Have I whined enough? I could go on, but I think that's it. You don't need to listen to all of my life story. Sometimes it helps just to get it out. Then life goes on.

Hope your day is a good one. I need to get busy.

Blessings.

So busy - so little time!

Life and work have been extremely busy lately. More so than I like being, anyway! I realized today that I hadn't written on here for a little while - was surprised to see it has only been a week. Time has flown by so fast I thought for sure it had been a month or so.

I may have mentioned this before - but I've learned to knit and I've been having fun with it. Trying to make some little things for Christmas gifts - I'm not that good at it yet - and my time is limited to sit and knit. And then there are my quilts I want to make - I have the material, but just haven't gotten them stretched out and pinned together. I really DO need to get that done as well! So many things I want to do and all good stuff - but just not enough time.

Work has been keeping me really busy. One of my bosses asked a couple weeks ago if I could take on more work - well, what could I say but 'sure, I can do more'. I got hit with a board meeting, and two other meetings to go to and take minutes at. I finished the 2nd set of minutes today - still need to do the big board meeting - which I dread starting - but will perhaps tomorrow and hopefully also get them completed tomorrow. Today I had 3 meetings I had to attend - and thankfully no minutes - but had to attend and I finally was able to finish some things.

Of course I have other things to do as well. A new person is starting in another week and I need to order all her equipment and make sure the system is set up for her. Like I am going to know what she needs! But - will work on it tomorrow - just not going to do it tonight. One hour to go and I need time to think about it.

Tonight we are going to our youngest son's house for dinner. Hubby doesn't know it, but son plans to celebrate his birthday tonight too. That's good cause our life is going to be crazy this weekend and I don't have time to plan anything. Saturday morning we will head to another city about 1.5 hours away to visit our granddaughter and celebrate our great-granddaughter's lst birthday! Where has this year gone!! She is such a cutie and I sure do wish we could see her more often. But the saying 'a son's a son until he takes a wife, a daughter is a daughter, all of her life" is true. And I understand that. But I still have a longing to be with my granddaughter and great-granddaughter and do things with them. If she lived up here, that could possibly happen, but for now, I'm content (sorta) with seeing her when I can.

Sunday morning is church and I plan to take lunch in for everyone to help celebrate hubby's birthday. Still going over the menu in my mind, but leaning towards BBQ pork and BBQ chicken sandwiches as I can cook them on Friday night and shred before we leave Saturday. Sunday would just be heating them up. Not a problem. Then probably deviled eggs (yep - at church!) and potato chips and maybe coleslaw. I'd like to fix potato salad, but I'm not sure if I want to put that much pressure on myself. Still need to pick up plates and cups - not sure what I'll do for drinks - or just have water. I know I will need to go to the store for that. But I want to do something and I love to cook, so I think that will work. If I hadn't committed to fixing lunch, we may have stayed in Tucson overnight, but that's ok. Need to save my money.

Jailbreak Getaway is next month and I am so ready! Wish I could take the three days off work, but my granddaughter needs to work her nanny job all week - so we will head north this time for Friday night - Sunday afternoon getaway. Since my daughter, granddaughter, and I all knit now, we will probably be doing a lot of that while we are there. We are all enjoying it a lot. My granddaughter had a flat tire last night and while she was waiting on her fiance to come change the tire, she sat there and knitted. Cracked me up. I'm so ready for our getaway. I am really tired.

Went to a new doctor this week - not sure if I am going to like him, but he ordered a bunch of tests. I have already gotten the results but am still waiting on his office to call me. They mixed up the telephone numbers and called the house yesterday and gave hubby the information - about ME - which I do not like. He got some of it confused so I've been calling the office, telling them I want a phone call because I need to know the information, not so much him. I will make sure that number is removed because they should call me. I gave his number should an emergency happen and I couldn't use the phone while I was there. That was just wrong! I've called twice. If I don't get a call back this afternoon, I will be sending the doctor a message. He and I are already 'fighting' because he 'assumed' some things and says, 'well, we probably need to put you some ....' and I just look at him and say 'I don't think so'. He isn't going to make me take things I don't want to take or I can find another doctor yet. I'm healthy and I intend to stay that way - not deal with side effects just because old people take that medication. I ain't THAT old!

Ok - this is long but I think I have caught up on life. Need to get to work. Good thing I type fast. Oh - I did buy hubby and I a new desktop computer. Got tired..... bought him one and then got myself one as well. Although I'm not on mine that much, but with a 27" screen, it will make it easier to look up things. Of course if someone offered me $1000 for the desktop, keyboard, mouse, 3 years mcafee, windows 10, Microsoft 365, 27" computer screen..... I think I would unhook everything and hand it over. I use my ipad for about everything.

Now I am off here. Hope your day is a..........

Blessings!

A week in review... or so....

Work has been very chaotic the last couple of weeks. I have been pulled into groups to take minutes (which I truly dislike to do) and the last one was THE board meeting.... the executive assistant who is responsible for the minutes of THAT meeting decided to take vacation. I would have never done that - ever - I take my job responsibilities that seriously. I have come into work sick because I knew I had things that needed to be done. I guess that is the difference between me and her. So I taped the meeting and took notes - and hopefully can get the minutes out today or Monday at the latest.

So much has been going on in my life, period. And I am so very tired. I told hubby on the way to church Sunday that I would like to retire next year. I probably should not have said that while he was driving.... some of you could just imagine his facial expression as his head snapped to face me and ask why? Do I really have to have a reason why? Can I not just retire like he did and refuse to work? I just responded to him that I was tired. Neither of us said another word all the way to church. I am sure I have scared him to death. He expects me to work forever so that I can support him in the lifestyle to which he has become accustomed to. A whole nother story, I reckon. Life goes on.

I bought two new desktop computers this past week. Why? Because I was too tired to say no. Actually it was all my doing - we get a discount through work and I went online to see what it was about. Then the 'chat talk' started. I explained what I was thinking about and why..... and two hours later I had ordered two desktops and monitors. The items arrived Monday and Tuesday. I set hubby's up on Tuesday and I think he is loving it. So much faster than the laptop he had. I even 'favorite' the bank and his email account so he doesn't have to do anything but click the button. I haven't touched the boxes for mine yet, hope to be able to put together this weekend. I want to get a bigger desk because I plan to start working from home more and need more room. BUT, to do that, I need to have a desk I have to put together - or it will not fit in the doorway of that room. I found one I like online but need to go physically look at it. It's pretty big - and will take up a large part of "my" room - but I have thoughts in my mind on how to set it up. Stay tuned on that one.

I think both of my bosses are out of the office today - and I'm happy about that. I have so much to get done. I know for sure one boss is working from home today, my other boss I notice on her calendar she is heading south to Tucson today. I really like her, but she is so smart I am so intimated. She goes to a meeting and immediately comes back and creates minutes or notes about what was discussed and sends out. I'm lucky to get minutes done within a week! She is always so busy and is in one meeting after another, but I mean to tell you, this woman is on top of it all. She is simply amazing.

Oh - I do need to share one other thing before this gets too lengthy. I need to get off anyway and get started on my day. My hubby called Nutrisystem the other day. For me. He knows I'm getting discouraged about not losing weight and wanted to help me. Of course I would have to pay for it, but he inquired and let me know how much it would cost. Does he not realize that if I did that, he would have to cook his own meals? Or does he expect me to pay for his too?

And I wonder why I'm tired. But in spite of it all, God is still on His throne, He still loves me and care for me, and He is still the One I run to throughout the day. If I didn't have God, I would be a real mess. And would you.

Blessings!

Spring is heading our way!

Actually, the first day of spring was a week or so ago - and our temperatures are heating up. I think we are getting to about 88 today - or something like that. Which is a big contrast to what I'm hearing my family is getting - by waking up to 6 inches of snow this morning. I'm so grateful I live out here. I may grumble and complain about having to get up and go to work when it's in the 30's or if it's raining, but at least I don't have to deal with REALLY cold weather and snow! Not any more. I drove in the Blizzard of '76 so I know about driving in it!

Yeah, I've talked to four family members today already. Well, verbally talked to 3 of them and text'd with one of them. Couldn't get ahold of my big sister to check on her (someone needs to check on her!) so called my little sister who did manage to get ahold of her and then text'd me that she talked with her. So I called the older sister later and finally got a chance to chat for about two minutes - after a few "I'm fine", "nothing", etc - there isn't much to talk about. I had to call my little brother because today is his 66th birthday. When did he get so old? I need to get on facebook later and send a note to my niece as it is also her birthday. And, my big brother sent me a video of all the snow he woke up to this morning. I think that is the first time I've chatted in some form to each of my siblings all before noon!

I'm freezing in my corner this morning and am thinking about walking out the my van to get my sweater out of it. I've already had a cup of hot tea and coffee. I may have to get some more. Part of it may be that I am having to fast today cause I need to leave early and go get some labs drawn - and they prefer that you fast 8-12 hours before having that done. I scheduled my appointment for 4:30PM, but I'm leaving the office at 2PM. It's at least an hour's drive to get there - and I figure I can get done early and get home earlier. Both of my bosses are in meetings in another city today and tomorrow so won't see either of them until Wednesday.

Got a call last night my adopted aunt is in the hospital so want to go over there to see her. After chatting with my friend earlier - what they thought was a stroke may only be a UTI infection. In older people these can make them incoherent and delirious - which is what my friend had described her as being. Hopefully I will get a call soon from someone to find out - she may be home before I get off work!

Had a nice Easter. Church service was totally amazing. Then we rushed home and changed clothes, grabbed what I was to take to my daughter's and got there as she finished cutting the ham up. Lunch was yummy and then we just sat around the table and my daughter, granddaughter and I knitted while we chatted. Youngest son and family came by later to visit on their way home. It was a good day.

Hope your Easter was a good one too!

Blessings!
