Yep. Christmas has come and went already. Things are getting semi back to normal around here at work and at home. Work has already been interesting. First day back was yesterday..... and the woman I had mentioned in my last post.... well, she showed up yesterday, and after a short time, "resigned" and was escorted out with her personal things. I can't help but feel sorry for her for I'm sure she doesn't realize what had just happened. Her husband just got out of the hospital and I understand from others is quite the controlling bully. He wants to move back to the Philippines, so if she doesn't have a job, he will force her to go back. But, she is gone, and some of her duties have been divided up between me and one other person. I get the medical directors, which is a given.
Christmas was so good for me. I love so much being around family and was surprised at all the gifts I received - especially the special gifts I received from my boys. One granddaughter made me a beautiful top, and another sewed an apron for me - her first project! I received a new coffee pot I plan to bring in to work for my coffee - the coffee in the breakroom is terrible and I refuse to pay out $$ for a cup of coffee. I received a beautiful open heart diamond necklace. I received a lot of clothes from my hubby, which I needed, and a beautiful necklace. My daughter gave me a very warm, soft, sweater with a hoodie which I'm wearing all the time cause it feels so good. I even got an Amazon Tap this year - which I am having fun with. With not being home during the day, all I say to her is "Alexa, what is the weather outside?" and Alexa will answer, "In Phoenix the current temperature is.... and for today it will be a high of .... and ..... skies." I need to figure out more how to use it. I had her playing Christmas music on Christmas. So nice. I received a 'sling' for it yesterday which tells me that it is portable. Sounds like I can bring it with me wherever I go. But I hate to bring it here for I'm afraid I will forget it. People who have them say they love them - when you run out of something, you ask Alexa to put it on a grocery list. Is there a chance that I won't have an excuse to forget what I've run out of?
My neighbor gave me a bread maker. Which is nice, except we really (ok, me) don't eat that much bread anymore. So I need to get yeast and then make her a loaf every few weeks of something nice. Maybe cinnamon raisin or something. Let her know I am using it. My middle child gave me one years and years ago and I used it a lot. Then we quit using it and since no one in the family wanted it, I gave it away. At least this one isn't 'new' - it was her mother's, but she wanted me to have it.
I loved, loved, loved having all the grandchildren around throughout Christmas Eve and Christmas day. It was so fun to see our new little great-princess. What a joy she is! I had a theme for that family - we now all have 'saurus' t-shirts - ranging from Great Grandparents, to Grandparents, to Uncles, to Mommy and Daddy, and last of all, our little Baby Saurus. I was checking everywhere for a black t-shirt and the smallest I could find was a size 2. Then to order the decal so that I could sew/iron it on. Then paint 'Baby Saurus' on the t-shirt. Not perfect, but rewarding.
Came back to work yesterday, today, taking a sick day tomorrow so that I can get my physical in before the end of the year. Then all the lab work. Decided I didn't want to come down in for just a few hours. Maybe I can get our Christmas stuff put away. Or not. I hope to have the last two grandsons over to bake tomorrow night, but as one wasn't feeling well on Christmas, hubby doesn't want them over unless he is over it. I may have to delay a night or two... but then they are going back home so I do want to have them over before they leave.
And I need to get back to work. Just thought I would take the time to catch up on my writing. Trying to write a bit more often, but once work picks up, I may not be able to. I usually don't get on the computer at home - I need to clean up my clutter and get the computer set up so that I can. Always something! But for now - sending you
Blessings!

Sometimes meetings with food....
isn't so good. Or rather, good for me. I have eaten wayyy tooo muuuchhhh this week!! In fact, after lunch today, I have emailed hubby that I don't want dinner tonight! But - the food is soooo good and I didn't have to cook it! Tell me if you would turn this down - baked ham, baked chicken, pasta, mashed potatoes and gravy, grilled broccoli and steamed zucchini, and I can't think of what else, but I didn't get dessert! And I don't usually do gravy! But had a bit of everything else. And it was very good. But now I need a nap!
One of my co-workers called in today. Again. I think she was already on shaky ground, but she called me and said she was going to put in for FMLA. She will use up her vacation time, her sick time, and then I almost would not be afraid to think she would request short term disability. Her time for FMLA is for her husband who was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia yesterday, but she told me he was doing much better now. She has had some medical problems to where she gets lost coming to work. Oh yeah, that's another story! Last week she ended up 20+ miles away - we thought we would have to go get her - but was able to direct her back this way. She is from the Philippines originally.... been here about 13 years I think - but her husband wants to go back to the Philippines and she doesn't want to. Not sure how that is going to end up.
So my work load is going to increase some - and that's ok. Most days I don't have that much to do anymore. For example, here I am typing this in the middle of the day....
I'm done with Christmas shopping. At some point I have to just say 'enough'! Gifts for different ones are not equal - but it is what it is. What can I say. I've spent a lot more than I meant to. I plan to open up a separate savings account and put money in it each month and save so that I can not skip a beat with my shopping next year. That's the plan, anyway.
Been struggling with tingling in my upper back and my neck hurting - to where occasionally I get a chill. Not sure what is going on there. Got hubby to put pain cream on my neck last night and I took a pain pill - slept good - and although it bothers me some today, it isn't too bad. I have too much to get done to sit on the sidelines.
I actually got some pickles made last night - not as much as I wanted to, but got a few jars made. It's my boss' fault - she asked for pickles. I have to make salsa tonight cause she asked for salsa too. Those two things are staples that I always give her - and she uses them in her gatherings at her house. Everyone loves them. :-) Which makes me feel good. I enjoy making them, and having them ready to give away.
Now I need to find something to do so will get off here. Hope you are getting everything done that you want to. And in every little thing, may you find -
Blessings!

The beginning of the week before....
and life is just as crazy as it always has been! I'm already at work - and have all-day meetings scheduled for today, tomorrow and Wednesday. Not my choice! I guess they figure people need to be at work - therefore, they will be in meetings! I don't have to attend the meetings (thank goodness!) but I did arrange for breakfast, lunch, and snacks to be delivered and need to make sure everything is set up like it should be. All of my bosses are in Tucson today for the meeting (it's A/V) so are calling in. It's all part of my job, getting it set up.
I think I am finally done with my Christmas shopping. I realized last night I hadn't sent anything to our granddaughter and great granddaughter in Nebraska yet - had thought about sending a check, but I really hate to do that, although they would probably be glad to get it. So I went on-line to a couple places and had some things shipped to them. One cost me as much in shipping as it did for the gift - only because I want it delivered by Christmas! And that's ok. Now I think I can say I'm officially 'done' - except I need to pick up things for the meals for the weekend. I'll probably do that Wednesday or Thursday evening.
I asked a couple of the kids what they wanted for meals cause I knew what my middle son wanted - ham sandwiches! His is lunch so isn't too hard to pull together. I'm hoping to find time over the weekend to make him potato salad, but will see. Then again, will have potato chips, so do we need potato salad too? It's only for him - but I would like to do it. Depends on time. At least I don't have to make a big batch, so it shouldn't be too hard.
The daughter said she wants baked chicken. Simple enough. I was surprised, though. Maybe she is trying to eat healthy. Baked chicken, salad, maybe baked potatoes with the trimmings... broccoli.... that should do it. Oh, and dessert. But what? Maybe the crockpot cobbler and ice cream.
The youngest wants a dish we call "garbage". At first I was undecided, but I figure if that is what he has asked for, then I'll fix it for him. At least his kids like it too. It's been a long while since I've made it, and with mashed potatoes it will be a big hit. And I can make it the day before so I don't have to extra stuff to do on Christmas day. Works for me. :-)
I love Christmas. I love the baking, I love cooking dinner for my kids, I love family being around. It's not about receiving gifts, it is about giving them and just having laughter and joy together for a short time. Forget our troubles, and focus on the reason we have Christmas. Of course it isn't just about the giving, but about celebrating Life - Jesus' life, His birth.
I wish I had done things differently when the kids were growing up. I am much wiser now, I think. I can't change the past, but I can try to make today better. And so can you.
Blessings!

So quiet and boring.....
My one boss is out of the office today, my two co-workers are both out today (one her son is graduating from college, the other called in sick) - the two managers in front of me are remote today - and my other boss left about an hour ago for the day. So it is quiet. Very quiet. I told my boss that if nothing is going on at 3:30, I was going to cut out about 1/2 hour early as well! I could probably cut out at 3PM, but with the other two gone as well, I don't want the department left empty. Not that it matters as I don't have much to do with that department.
Had the first group of grandchildren over on Saturday to do their Christmas baking. I so much enjoy this time with them. Grandpa watched TV while we baked and then played games. Had a great time. Makes me want to do it more often. Will have to see how next year starts off. Maybe once a quarter have over... alternate the grandchildren or something. But it was fun.
More packages will be arriving this week, and what I have already received is wrapped and under the tree. I overdid it again. Even more so than in years past, I think. Or is it that my family has just gotten larger - but then - only by one! Altho I did buy a small gift for two of the grandsons girlfriends.... which reminds me - I need to get something for a granddaughter's boyfriend! I know what I want to do... will have to see if I can get it this next weekend. Or send her to pick it up for me. We shall see!
I just got a text from a dear friend at our 'old' church.... they invited us over for dinner Wednesday night. I don't get home until about 5:30 but she said that was fine, to come when we can. It will be nice to sit and eat and chat with them. I was going to have them over after the holidays - and I still need to do that. We met them back in 1984, I think it was, when their daughter was two years old. I did baking with their daughter until my oldest granddaughter turned two - then I quit. I have always felt bad that I didn't continue.
Just starting to ramble now..... where have all my stories gone... maybe 2018 will be a good year and my heart will feel joy again..... in the meantime.... don't spend all your money in one place!
Blessings!

It's all about the....
gathering of family. For me it is, anyway. I love to have each and every one of my family gathered about. I'm actually glad we do the families separate as it gives me the opportunity to love on each one and give them my undivided attention.
I think I am finally done shopping. I ordered a bunch more stuff yesterday and now I am done. I have returned some things as well. As I like to say, "It is what it is".
I even ordered my very own Christmas gift. Or gifts, I guess I should say. I have always wanted Christmas dishes. A nice set. I use my white china as a rule whenever we have guests over for a meal, but I have always wanted a special set for Christmas. So, yesterday, I saw that Macy's had the Pfaltzgraff (brand) of Winterberry dishes on sale. Still, more than I have ever paid for a set of dishes. But I love that pattern, and I've always wanted Christmas dishes. So I ordered myself a set of 12 of the plates, salad plates, cups, bowls, and glasses. I then went to http://www.pfaltzgraff.com/ and ordered the bread and butter plates (12). I also have ordered - prior to this for me the Bless this house Winterberry platters. They have several other things that I would love to have, and I told my hubby that if the kids ask next year what I want for Christmas, just tell them to pick up some of the Winterberry pattern and I will love to add to my collection. They should be here next week and I can't wait! I hope none arrive broken.
What's your favorite part about Christmas? I love to give gifts and love, and salsa, and whatever else anyone wants. I love to be a part of their lives. I'm realizing more and more that I am getting older and some day I won't be around to share this time. Perhaps that is why I treasure it more. I want to give each one memories to have each year. And I want to have my own memories.
Blessings!

I did it again.........
I have ordered way too much 'stuff'! I go online at one store and go... 'oh, so and so will like that'.... and I order it. Then I go to another store and .... 'oh, so and so will like that'.... and order it.... and now, I have over-ordered and may need to send some things back. Well, I think I have anyway. I'll know more when I finish taking everything out of the boxes and lay out by person and see what is there.
The other day I wrapped all I had received and it was a lot. I've gotten several more packages and boxes in the past few days so I have all that wrapping yet to do. I'm afraid some will be disappointed, but I don't know what else to do. At least I do buy things with specific people in mind.... they just may not need or even may not want whatever I get them.
Some things I know... my daughter does not like long sleeve items or sweaters. Definitely not sweaters. On the other hand, when it is cool, I like sweaters! I've bought several Christmas themed sweaters this year and now I'm wondering if I should have. Just because I didn't have any Christmas sweaters didn't mean that no one else did...... or even that they would want. Oh well. I'll have to think on that one. My boys are even harder to buy for... neither will give me any ideas. Which means they may get things they don't want nor need, but hopefully, they will appreciate.
Some of the grandsons are harder to even buy for. I honestly don't know what to do for some of them. My son told me what his youngest had said he wanted... and Grandma got the M&Ms and something else that he said he wanted. If his parents get it for him too, he will just have to share.
I know I will do my usual baking of cranberry pumpkin nut bread for some and making salsa too. I wonder if they ever get tired of it all. Some ask for it, some don't usually mention it. I think I will just make up several pints and tell each group that 'if you want a jar, grab it. If you don't, no worries'. That's the weekend before fixings cause I want it to last awhile.
Hubby and I put our tree up last weekend. He grumbled the entire time, wanting to wait 'another day' but I insisted I wanted to get it up on Saturday. So he got even with me and didn't pull out all the boxes. Some things just aren't worth fighting over. He did help hang ornaments on the tree. I do have dreams of bigger and better Christmases.....
Work has been busy and I'm still learning new things. I am glad I have my job. I can't explain to anyone why... most would not understand. Besides the fact it does pay the bills. And lets me shop.
I need to figure out when to have the grandchildren over - it's going to be a busy month!
Blessings!

the day after Thanksgiving.....
It's been a busy morning thus far. I got up early and once hubby left for his Bible study at Fast Eddies, and after my quiet time, I got up and got busy. I cleaned out one of the closets in our bedroom. It's full of quilts, and everything else that has gotten thrown in there. I've bagged up some things and am sending them to Savers. I had hoped that hubby would take this afternoon, but looks more like I will be taking when I go out tomorrow. I was going out this afternoon, but time schedules got messed up so need to work on some thing here anyway.
Yep, I don't do that "black Friday" thing. I am not comfortable around crowds of people and am quite content with being nearly alone in the store. I found last year that if I go late in the afternoon, most people have gotten their sales completed and have spent all their money.
I've done most of my shopping already online. Of course even with writing things down, I am afraid that I have ordered too much and not enough. Figure that one out. I don't know if any packages will arrive today, but starting tomorrow, I will have a bunch of boxes arriving here. Then I start going through the "will anyone like what we get them" and "what if someone is disappointed". Oh well. I've definitely got to start cutting back. I know, I say it every year.
The tough part is most don't need anything. Just like us. But I always look for that one thing that is unique so that they will at least find enjoyment with it. I can go on smile.amazon.com but I don't even know where to start looking. So, with that being said, some will be happy, and some will unfortunately be disappointed.
Thanksgiving was nice yesterday. We went to the youngest son's house and had a nice lunch with everyone. Lots of food. I took the turkey, dressing, and giblet gravy - can't believe I brought nearly all the turkey back home with me. The only thing that had a minute amount was the dressing. 3 Pieces were left so I left them. Had about 2 cups of giblet gravy left. Brought it home cause we can put it on mashed potatoes. :) My son cooked two hams and we got to bring some home with us. Had some for lunch today and it was still good. Yum.
Well, I reckon I need to get busy on my message - I speak at an RV park in another week and I need to have it completed soon so that I can practice with it. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
Blessings!

Grateful for changes
Changes are sometimes good, right? Of course I'm referring to a change in my work locations/jobs from the past couple months. Actually it is exactly two months today that was my last day at my "old" company. I was able to have lunch with three of my former co-workers yesterday. Yes, I actually DROVE to a location about 5 miles away to meet with them. I only panicked a couple times while making sure I was going the right direction!
Being directionally challenged is tough! BUT! I also want you to know that this morning I had to go get some labs done. Normally I would drive all the way back to my side of town and take my usual route to work. But I didn't. I chose to be brave.
I asked Siri to take me to work. She took me a totally different direction - then north to pick up another freeway, then 21 miles on this freeway got me to another one, and then I knew where I was and made my way into work. It took only about 50 minutes this way - but I was on the 'other side' of town so it would not be an option unless my usual road what totally shut down. It would take me 30 minutes to get to where it would take 50 - and it was 8AM in the morning! I love Siri.
But, back to changes.... in meeting with my friends yesterday I heard lots of stuff that was going on at the "other place". And it made me glad I was gone. I do miss my friends, but, even with all my stress here in this new position, I am grateful God provided this new job.
Sometimes we just need to pause and say 'Thank you, God' because of the changes in our lives. Some change hurts. Some change is good.
We are going to be changing churches too, with all that is going on. For right now, it is our speaking times from November to March so most people will not even realize that we are gone - gone. We do plan to go back a time or two before making the final end. We have a lot of friends there too, but with the church moving to a new location, and not being able to trust Leadership on what they have done in the past and being left out of all the planning, we feel they are wanting us to leave. They are closing the door - not that 'they' had ever opened it. Relationships is not on their agenda. We've always gone back because we have been there for so long, but God removed his hand from the church and it is floundering. Not sure what the pastors are thinking. They don't share with us.
So that will be more change. We went to a new church a couple weeks ago and we know the pastor and it was a very good service. Enjoyed feeling God's presence again, and love of the pastor and people. Worship was wonderful and the message left you thinking about it, instead of trying to figure out what had been said and what value it had in anything.
But enough of that. Change is good in most cases. And in ours, it is a good thing.
Blessings!
Being directionally challenged is tough! BUT! I also want you to know that this morning I had to go get some labs done. Normally I would drive all the way back to my side of town and take my usual route to work. But I didn't. I chose to be brave.

Things are quieting down....
The chaotic-ness of my job has finally settled down. I'd like to think I am just that efficient, but reality is that I just had to get to the point of getting things done. And, now that they are, my work life is not as chaotic or consuming as it was. I've learned a lot the past two months - well, I guess it actually hasn't been two months yet - until the 18th. But I have still learned a lot, and have a lot more to learn. But for now, things have settled down, all of the meetings have been created and sent out, and life moves on here.
Christmas gifts that I have ordered have already started to arrive at our house. Yeah, I know that if I would wait and order closer to Christmas I could probably get cheaper, but, I would also have the stress of getting what I want, it arriving on time, and all that stuff. Sometimes paying a little more is worth it. I want to spend December baking things, not shopping online - or at the store!
Since I have changed jobs I don't have much vacation time built up yet. AND, because the holidays are fast approaching, I have less. What I mean is, when they said we had 27 days at the beginning of the year - that sounds great. However, they built the 8 hours for each holiday in that time, so when we have a holiday, it comes out of our vacation time. For example, I have about 20 hours vacation time built up thus far. We are off work for Thanksgiving, and the day after if we want it. But, by taking both days, I lose 16 hours vacation time. Not that it is a big deal - between now and the first of the year - actually, until at least Spring, I generally do not take much time off work. I would like to take one day off in December to finish up any Christmas baking/shopping that I need to do. And I probably can, even though my vacation days earned this year all goes for Thanksgiving and Christmas days off. I'm salaried now, which means if I need to leave early, I'm not docked for my time. I put in more than my 8 hours a day so over the week they would still get my 40 hours. I'm not used to being able to 'come and go' as I want and I would never abuse it. But it is nice I can take 1 1/2 hours for lunch if I want to and not stress about making up my time on the clock because we're limited to 8 hours a day. I know that if I really need to leave early - or even if I just want to leave early, I don't have to make up my time.
It's about time to start planning our 4th (I think) Annual Turkey Trot Run/Walk for Thanksgiving morning. I really enjoy that time of connecting. I get the turkey on before we leave and for that hour or two that we're gone, it's a refreshing time. Since I don't have Thanksgiving at our house, it takes away some of the busyness. Some day I will have Thanksgiving at my house again. In fact, come to think about it, I think I did do a separate Thanksgiving for one son's family last year because they couldn't join us. I DO have a small turkey that I could fix for that family. I could do that on Friday after Thanksgiving.... what do you think, son? Would you and your family be interested?
Christmas. I love this time of year. I love more the part of having family around me. I don't care if we're playing games or just having a meal together, I love having the family around. Family completes me. Memories is what I want to leave behind, good memories of love and fun times.
Melancholy again! I think I better quit! Hope that your day today is a special....
Blessing!

It's almost Thanksgiving....
It's hard to believe how fast this year has gone by - and yet, isn't that what we generally say every year? I finally told myself to get on smile.amazon.com the other evening and started looking for Christmas gifts. I'm at a loss again this year as to what to get everyone. In the past 5 months or so I have probably seen children/grandchildren maybe two-three times - except for those that go to the church, but even then, don't see often. Not seen enough to get an idea of what they like or want. Of course the children usually say don't worry about us. Which is exactly what I say.
All the grandchildren have quilts. All the children have quilts. That leaves that out at least this year - although one granddaughter said she would take another quilt because she gets so cold (just like me!!). Not sure that will happen this year, but at least I can put it down for another year.
We have a new great-granddaughter... I KNOW she doesn't need clothes... but bigger sizes may be what she will get. Toys? Maybe. We were thrilled when we were surprised with a visit the other night.
I'd love to start baking - but it is really too early to fill my freezer with baked stuff. I will probably start the first of December. And hopefully can get the grandchildren over to do some baking. I hope they enjoy it as much as I do. I also hope that the memories of all these years of baking with Grandma is something they will treasure and share with their children and grandchildren. Distance keeps some away, but I love it when the others comment they can't wait to come over and bake cookies and make Christmas mice. I just love being with the grandchildren.
First, though, we have Thanksgiving. Somehow, in the "what do I bring category", I held back commenting until all the others stated what they would bring. We'll be going to our youngest son's house. Why is it I always get to bring the turkey, dressing, and giblet gravy? But I don't mind. I need to start looking around for a big turkey and gather the stuff I'll need. I wonder if the other two will want dressing and gravy saved for them.....
Reckon I need to get to work.... thinking about turkey and dressing and giblet gravy makes me hungry!
Blessings!

The last of the month....
and here I sit at work....somewhat bored. Either I am just too efficient and organized, or there just isn't enough work to keep me busy. One of my bosses is on vacation. Another boss - the one who keeps me the busiest - is traveling today because the executives in the southern office and this office have dressed up. The southern office drove up this morning for breakfast (which was furnished by the executives- eggs, bacon, fruit, biscuits and gravy, potatoes etc) and then left an hour later to head down south to that office for the lunch.
I borrowed a dress - Renaissance (sp) - from my granddaughter - to wear for Halloween here at work. Yes, I could actually get into it. I wore it to the office today. Peer Pressure to dress up. No biggie. As soon as the executives left, I took it off and put my jeans and comfy shirt back on. I borrowed her crown too. It's still on my head. Somethings I just can't let go of yet.
I've been on Amazon this morning looking for Christmas gifts. Either my imagination has gone to sleep or I am at a loss as to what to get everyone for Christmas. I absolutely have no idea. No one. And I can't think of anything I could use. Maybe pajamas. Sweaters/Shrugs. There is a new translation of the Bible that I want to begin to get... Passion Translation. I love the way they word the scriptures. I think it is fairly expensive though - which is why I haven't already gotten some of them. Now I know why my mother always said there is nothing she needs. I'd rather have one on one time with my children and grandchildren. That's the best gift I could ever have.
I learned to knit this past weekend. Trying to knit a dishcloth. I have already made a mess of it, but my friend who is teaching me can show me how to fix it. Now I either have to knit or sew. I certainly can't do both. I've got to declutter so that I can work on crafts. I'm bored to death with TV.
Declutter. Another goal for 2018.
Hope you are having a great day!
Blessings!

I'm so cold....and....
it isn't even winter yet! It's only OCTOBER!!
My little corner M-F is literally in a corner, and I have a window off to the side.... the window is not the problem.... the problem is the two air vents directly above me. I am freezing. And I have been since I started here. Hence the sweater that came in with me on day 2. It stays at the office.
Today I have a jacket on. I'm still freezing. Yesterday I wore a blouse, a shrug, AND a sweater on top of that. I am pretty sure they won't turn the air up to a higher temperature just for me. No sense in complaining. I did get up and take a little walk outside a bit ago, hoping to warm up.
But the weather is not cooperating today.... it's cloudy out and rain (seriously, they have forecast rain - in Phoenix/Mesa) is on the agenda. So it's probably in the low 70's - it was 72 when I came in this morning. I took a little walk, but didn't warm up much. So I came back up and fixed a cup of hot green tea.
It's times like this I even pray God will give me a 'hot flash' - although my hot flashes were never that bad - I've seen women really sweat during one - and it cracks me up. I may get a little warm, but it never lasts more than 30 seconds so it's no big deal to me. I can take a sweater off - and then turn around and have to put it back on!
I don't know why I'm always so cold - doesn't matter if it is summer or winter - I am freezing. Hubby can have the fan on, and I'm buried under a blanket watching TV or reading. I'm about ready for the fireplace to be lit. Only problem with that is that the heat isn't blown out into the room - it just sits there and looks pretty. You have to be within six inches of the fire to feel any of the heat. But it does look nice.
I need to invest in more long sleeve tops, I think. A little bit more cooler and I'll start wearing sweaters under the sweaters. When I leave here in the afternoon, the temps have usually warmed up so a sweater would be way too warm. Occasionally I still put the air on about 1/2 way home. Other nights I just sink into the cushion and let the warmth of the seats warm me up.
And that's ok. I'm just unique and different.
Kind of like how people are when they say they believe in God. You can tell more by their warmth - than you can by their coldness. Not to say it has anything to do with body temperature - but more like heart temperature. I know people who would fight to the death that they are Christians, but their lives, their words, their actions all say a different thing. I'm not perfect, by any means, and I often have to go back and apologize for something I said, or something that could have been taken wrong. Everyday I ask God for forgiveness and if there is something I need to apologize for, to bring it to mind so that I can be a witness for Him.
How warm are YOU today?
Blessings!

Time goes on....
It's been a couple weeks since I've put anything in here..... and I'm still working - I guess that is a good sign. The stress has gone down some, but currently, I'm not completely good with everything yet. I FINALLY got all the meetings I needed to do created and in the system. Now to go back and get lunches and snacks and other things ordered for these meetings. I still need to work with the hotel where a few of the meetings are - found out last week that the person I had been calling and leaving voicemails for, sending emails to, well, he is no longer there. So I finally got ahold of another person Friday - they were to call me back. They didn't. I sent an email yesterday. Still no response. I'm going to call again today. The first big meeting there is November 6 so I got to get on it.
And I'm tired. I'm growing weary of the pressure of having to work all the time. I don't know if I will have any vacation days until ?? I understand we get 7 hours a pay period, but holidays come out of that time as well.... and Thanksgiving is our next holiday and we have two days off - and I currently have 8 hours. After Thanksgiving will be Christmas. I will be squeezing grandchildren in on the weekends to get the Christmas baking done - but I guess I pretty much do that anyway. I love Christmas and I certainly don't want 'things' to get in the way of celebrating with the grandchildren by baking cookies and making Christmas mice. I want to find some other things to do too - but just don't know if I can find the time to find anything. And that's ok. I think they are happy making cookies.
Need to start pulling together messages for the next six months. I think I speak about 2-3 times a month some months. Since we go to two facilities, it is easy to do one message at both places - but still, I need to do about 8 new ones since those are at one facility. It will all come together and I love Pastor Steve for letting me pull his messages and make them mine. He knows I do it - I tell him - and give him the results. Occasionally I can pull one of my own pretty much together, but with the lack of time to do it, it's easier to take one already created and make it mine by deleting some things and adding my stories.
And when I get home, I'm tired, so I sit and watch a movie or read or review facebook. I need to get focused and get things done. So much I want to do, but when I get home I'm not only tired, but usually discouraged somewhat, and lose all desire to clean or straighten things up. I have started my Amazon Christmas shopping - so I guess technically, that I am getting something done. Christmas will be skimpy... don't know what I'll get everyone.... it's so hard to make that decision.
Need to get busy - have lots to get done. Think I will start playing the lottery. If I could win a million dollars, I could quit work. Then again, I would have to go to work to keep my sanity. Catch 22 I guess.
Blessings!

Yesterday....
Yesterday started off as a good day. My mind awoke to a song chorus playing in my head....
Your love is greater
Your love is stronger
Your love awakens
Awakens
Awakens me
Your love is greater
Your love is stronger
Your love awakens
Awakens
Awakens me
and when I went to do my quiet time, the devotional book I recently bought is called Awaken by Priscilla Schirer. The words she shared about awakening your mind and heart in scripture really spoke to me. Today was another good devotional.
But, then life happens and gets crazy at times. Work is going well but I have so much to learn. I'm so used to a boss who is pretty much self-sufficient and can do a lot of things on her own. I still have her but also have a new boss who the person before me waited on hand and foot and did everything for her. She wants meetings on top of meetings and I rarely can find a conference room for her meetings. No exaggeration - I have about 30 meetings to schedule for her between now and March. And that isn't counting the ones that she throws at me every day. I go home worn out and mentally exhausted.
I think I got admonished this morning. The former 'secretary' came over to me and asked if I went in early to the conference room and turned on the audio/visual for this meeting. I just looked at her and said, no, I didn't know I was supposed to. She seemed perturbed that I didn't do it. She had told me the other day that she was from the Philipines and in HER former country they did everything for their bosses. "That's why a lot of US companies go to the Philipines because we take care of them." I bit my tongue. I wanted to say this is the US and OUR people do things for themselves. But I didn't. I just let it go.
Today is another eventful day..... my daughter's 16th BMT birthday. I wonder if anyone ever remembers but me. I did create a post on Facebook and I sent her a text - and for some reason, I have been shedding tears all morning. Is it because of the stress I'm under here or just remembering that year of the unknown - whether she would live or die - I don't know. Only by God's grace did she get bone marrow from an unknown donor and it "took" so that her body healed. Her life since that time has been very traumatic - but not from the BMT - but from life itself. Some brought on by herself, some by others. And that hurts too.
Some days I just want to run away..... the pain is real. I know my thoughts are going all over the place today.... and I need to get to work. Hope that your day is a good one... I'm going to make mine good.....
Blessings!

Blessings!

Nothing Intended....
I'm tired. I mean I'm really tired. I had my first week at work and it wasn't so much stressful, as it was overwhelming at times. Working with one boss is fine - I know her and I know how she does things and we work very well together. Which is why she wanted me to come work with her again. But I now have a second boss (who volunteered my time to a 'third boss' I was just meeting last Friday) who is in the middle of a big bid process and I have daily (it seems) intense meetings that I need to get set up with all kinds of different people - and although these meetings have priority, I don't know the other people to determine if their meetings are just as important. This will go on until about March. I hope I survive that long!
Looking back over the past week - Monday I didn't get much done because the first thing I'm supposed to do is get into the HR site and complete some tasks - ie benefits, w4, etc. Tuesday was much more busy - still trying to figure out things and still not able to access HR and getting more and more information emailed to me by coworkers and I don't have a clue what they are talking about.... I came home asking myself "What in the world were you thinking?!" Wednesday I was beginning to feel like I was getting a grasp on things, Thursday about the same - and Friday I was in a meeting most of the day. Oh - I called HR on Wednesday to tell them I still couldn't get in the system to access my records - only to find out I had not been activated yet (oh, no one told us you were here) - and it would be two more days before I could get into my benefits. Friday I tried at work and yes, I could access my benefits, but didn't have time to look at them - plus I had 23 sessions in the learning center I needed to review, take tests for, and complete. Oh - and my boss emailed HR on Friday to tell them she couldn't find my timecard to approve. Their response - oh we didn't know she had started.
So I brought my work computer home with the intent of getting online to complete these tests. Only to find I can't get online. I'm not sure how to do it. Something about mobile pass and codes and I have no clue. I know it's just me - and the fact that I am computer illiterate. I tried to download citrix on my home computer because I did print out those instructions - but what it tells me to download - isn't there. I give up for today. I just can't deal with it now. I'll try again tomorrow afternoon and see what I can do.
Which is why I am typing this - I have my home computer up - decided to at least get one thing done. Maybe I'll try to clear up some emails. I need to make a folder for several items I forwarded to my email from the other office - I lost a lot of things because I had to relive the girl at the front desk because at noon on a Friday afternoon she decided she needed to go to the Urgent Care about her ankle which she had hit against something 3 days earlier and it was very painful. Yeah, it irritated me because I had to sit at the front desk - and everyone kept stopping by to talk on their way out - which normally would be ok - but my computer was scheduled to be shut off and then I could not forward any other folders to my home email. So I lost a lot of things I really wanted to keep. Oh well. It's done. I was to get my last check yesterday - it finally arrived today - a live check. Hubby hurried to the bank today to get it in.
We are already having a bake sale next week - it was to be last week but the boss forgot to put a notice out to ask for bakers. So - of course now she has put me in charge of it... so we are doing it next week. I baked some cranberry pumpkin nut bread this afternoon because I can put it in the freezer then take out on Wednesday to take in on Thursday. I am now working an hour later than usual so don't get home until about 5:30PM or so. I have a feeling I will be putting in long days from now on. But I'm exempt so I don't have to punch a timecard - otherwise I would have a mess trying to keep it at 8 hours.
I guess I've rambled on enough for today. Hubby is watching Notre Dame football. 6PM. I suppose I need to round up something for dinner.... have a good evening..
Blessings!

4 days and counting....
I think I really am starting to count the days. Friday. 4 more days. No extra time off. Monday I start at my new job on Monday. I'm excited, and yet....
The past two weeks have been crazy, trying to get things completed and passed on here, working electronically on things I need to complete for the new company, and just living life. This past weekend I did absolutely nothing. I finished up a Christmas gift on Friday night - and Saturday and Sunday we were glued to the TV basically, watching Hurricane Irma go down (or up) the coast of Florida and praying for friends and family members that lived there. Other than church, we did nothing.
In fact, at church, we had a vote. We are selling the property to another church in the city. They are more than fair with what they offered for it. They are bending over backwards to help our church find another location and to let us take anything we want from the church/buildings. It affects us, and yet, it doesn't affect us. From November to March we are only there maybe one Sunday a month. Not sure what we will do once the church moves. We've lost the 'heart' for the church..... it used to be "home" for us, but for the past several years, it has not been that at all. I've tried to teach and the lead pastor won't let me. I can only do what he will allow. Micro-manage stuff. And we lost two wonderful pastors - and well, I won't go there. It has ripped the church apart, for sure. I don't feel I can trust either of the pastors left. If you can't trust your pastor....can't believe what he says....
Today at work has been busy - and hard. This morning we had what is called a "patriot's breakfast" to honor and remember the 9-11-01 attack on the World Trade Center. Lots of good food from Chompies. But then this afternoon.... about an hour ago..... 5 of the 7 employees in this one department got laid off. I'm sure they got severance checks - but that's not the point. None had expected it. One is out on bereavement and was told to call in for this mandatory meeting. Seriously? Another just came back from bereavement. Another had to leave for an emergency family situation and had to call in. It hurts for these people were / are my friends. I feel so sad for them.
Last week my current boss told me that they probably would NOT replace me. The person I had recommended has been told to come over here only a couple days a week from the other building "if she wanted to" - other than that, she can stay where she is. I was told by my current boss that she wants to convert my position in to a data analyst position. Which could mean they would have transferred me to another area, given me a severance check and let me go, or.... I don't know. Today I am really glad I'm already making plans to leave. I still haven't been able to get a relationship with the new boss and she has been here four months now. And other people have seen it too. Many people close to me have told me I need to go for they can see I'm not happy. I have enough to do - but none of it relates to my new boss. She makes 99% of her own meetings and they are Skype meetings - which means she doesn't have to see people - she stays in her office with the door shut.
I feel sad for my friends who were let go today. They were all good people and hard workers. It just doesn't make sense to me.
I miss my 'family'.... my children are feuding and not talking to each other.... and half the time they don't even talk to me. Everyone is busy with their own lives and families, and I understand that. I need to plan some family meals and start inviting them over so that we can catch up. I miss them.
On another note, my friend from over 40 years ago and I finally connected - and talked over 3 hours - imagine that! She remembered more than I did! Sad part is that her 3 girls don't talk to her because she moved from Indiana to Arizona. Like that is a reason. They are mad at her about it - and it's been 7 years. One would think that would be long enough. If my children did that to me - I would just die. I think we are going to bring our spouses and meet up this weekend. The spouses had not met yet so this should be interesting. Both of us have "new" spouses. I think they have been married over 25 years - us 35 this year.
It's nearly time to go home so I'm going to shut up. May have to start getting on my computer at home so that I can start writing again. Therapy sometimes. My old computer won't come up now - and the new one is acting up - I'm so fed up with both I'd like to throw them away. But I need something.... pray for me.... I'm not doing real well right now....
Blessings!

So much, so little time.....
I'm moving on. I'm increasing my knowledge, using what I already know, and looking to learn more. I'm letting go of the past, and moving on to a new journey.
Yep, I've given my notice at work and I'm moving to a new company (for me, anyway) beginning on September 18th. A whole new journey, for sure. Part of me is nervous. Part of me is excited. Most of me is overwhelmed with all I have to do before I leave.
And all that I am having to do before I can move into that new journey. I have received at least 10 emails telling me of things I need to do PRIOR to moving in to this new position. I've applied, had the interview, been offered the position - and now having to put things electronically and get my physical (Friday), review a video of a 'new hire tour', and answer numerous questions and submit numerous documents. I have been overwhelmed, to say the least. Part of me is thinking "what are you putting yourself through this for?" and yet, this is a great opportunity for me and I'm not the only one having to go through all these hoops to get this job. Next week I need to attend an "on-boarding" session in Mesa.... and I don't even start for another two weeks!!
I've put in for my last two vacation days - and I'm not sure I'll get paid as my current boss says "I can't figure out how to approve it" - or basically some other excuse. This Friday is at the end of the payperiod so if she has not approved my time off by Thursday afternoon, I will clock in and out as though I'm working even though I'm off. She will not cause me to have an unpaid day. It's these little issues that drive me crazy. I think she has a major case of ADD because she is all over the place.
Oh well, enough of that. Working on getting my paperwork done for the new position..... they tell me the new office is "only 6 miles further down the road" which can translate into another 30 minutes of driving time. I hate change and I hate having to find places that I don't know where they are at. I think this weekend I will be taking a drive to Mesa to see where these places are that I have to go to next week.
Life has been busy. An old, old, friend has contacted me via facebook and we have emailed - and last night we chatted for over an hour. She knew me in my "before" life as I now know it. We are actually meeting for dinner tonight to catch up some more. It's been wow - close to 45 years or so since we have seen or talked to each other. Don't even remember why we quit connecting. Interesting.
Break over - back to work - maybe I can get back to writing on weekends.....
Blessings!

Catching up.....
Although I have written a couple times since the last time, I have left them in draft form. Sometimes it is better that way. I try to be careful what I write some times.... most time when I write in my journal at home - if I even do that - I can write what I'm really thinking or feeling.... but even then, I have started to review and dispose of those pages that say what I don't want others to read. Not that it is bad that I think those things or even that I wrote them down, but it is an avenue for me to get out my hurt and anger at times.
Yeah, I do get hurt - a lot lately, it seems. Some people seem to take pleasure in texting or writing things that are hurtful. I don't understand where they are coming from, so I choose to ignore and not respond to them. And I get angry - but that doesn't seem to matter to anyone. And I try not to take it out on others. Yet, I know I do at times.
I got "the text" from my old boss on Friday that the position she wanted me to apply for had been posted. So I went online and applied. I was really having mixed emotions about it. I mean, I really do have a good job right now. As the ONLY executive admin in this building, I am in charge of a lot of things, I have a lot of responsibility, and I am well liked. However, I have a new boss who doesn't see the importance of relationships. In fact, I was told once that she is used to working remote from home, and was only in the office at a prior job one or two days a week. Which that would explain why she stays in her office behind a closed door on the phone and computer all the time. Nearly every meeting is a Skype meeting - and there is no human personal interaction. Kind of sad, really.
Today I was put on a Skype call about a report I send out daily. I have sent this report out for the past 5 years - Monday through Friday. To make it a bit more interesting, I have taken to writing stories pulled from the internet - and more recently, excerpts from a leadership book. Actually, we have gone through 5 leadership books now and I have always gotten positive comments about what I sent out. Well, I'm on this call and I'm being questioned on the report I send out. Now mind you, it takes maybe 5 minutes to pull the report. Seriously. I go in to "centelligence" and pull the reports, and then send out.
I've had to give a list of names I send the report to. Big deal. My boss has never asked me about the report. Never asked who I sent it to. Never questioned me about why I send it out. She has no clue. I got an email from her on Friday to send out the report with the comment that the medical management team was looking at it. Yesterday (Sunday) she sent me an email and said that I was not to send any "inspirational message" with the report.
I was ready to finish the current book - down to the last chapter which I had fixed to finish on Thursday because I go on vacation on Friday. I knew there were people who do read the books so after I sent out the report with just the statement I was told to send with it, I added all the days for the book to finish it up - and sent it out on a separate email - and told them I wasn't able to send any more books. I got several emails back - even from a VP - what does that mean?! So I told them - I was told no more "inspirational messages".
On the Skype call today, after discussing how I pull the report and why I pull the reports and who I send to, it was commented "I don't know why we are having this meeting - there isn't anything wrong with how it is being done". Well duh. They told me to continue as I had been, sending out the report. Then the corporate guy says - what is this stuff on the body of the email.... and I explained that 'in the past' I was taking people through different leadership books. He told me he would like to be included in my emails. I told him I was told to no longer send out inspirational messages. So he told me that if I did start it up again, please to include him. LOL ya gotta just shake your head!!
So now I'm waiting to get a call for an interview for this new position. I would love to work with my "old" boss and friend again - even though I will be driving another ten miles or so on the freeway. It would be worth it. I gave myself a $4 raise as a "I need to be offered no less than...". I'm on vacation starting Friday - so I'm hoping that when I come back I will be able to give a two week notice. I had already figured September 11 would be a good day to start a new job.
Which will put everyone here in a tizzy - we usually have a huge breakfast and I won't be here to set it up. But it all depends on when I interview, and when the job gets offered. I may have to bump it to the 18th. One thing for sure - I want to be sure I use up my vacation days - don't know if I will get anymore this year.
And now I have rambled on for a little while - so need to close this off...
Blessings!

Blessings!

It's Monday,....... truly!
I get to work this morning and couldn't get my laptop to come up. My screens would come on. I unplugged my laptop and went to two different offices and still could not get my laptop to turn on. FINALLY, I did something right and it came up. I usually leave my computer "on" when I go home, so that I save time to clock in when I come in. Unfortunately, I "lost" about 20 minutes this morning trying just to get the computer to come up. I finally got clocked in, pulled the two reports I need to send out. And sent them out. Or thought I did. Eventually I got an email from one of the supervisors stating, "uh.... I think you forgot the attachment..." yep, that is exactly what I did - or rather, didn't do. I forgot the attachment. No problem. I resent.
Yesterday was my precious Aunt Sue's 95th birthday and we went to a lunch in her honor. What a sweetheart. It was so good to be with those who love her like I do. We had a great time, and all of us kept sitting around waiting for our bill to come .... and it never did. After inquiring, we found out that Aunt Sue paid for everyone's lunch. I had to laugh, and I told Aunt Sue that I must have inherited that trait from her. Although we aren't really related, just adopted. I have no problem with buying everyone's dinner when I invite them out - just because that is what I want. AND I plan to do it this year for my children and their families - so if they read this, be prepared. I think I will make it in to TWO parties.... or maybe even three..... just cause I can spend more time with each family and not be caught up with one or another.
Oh yeah, my big brother's DIL finally had the baby - after being in labor about 36 hours, the doctors decided to do a C-section. Seriously! But a beautiful baby girl was produced - and I had to remind my big brother that although she was beautiful, she doesn't come close to my great-granddaughter's beauty. I can tell already we are going to have some challenges. LOL
Need to get to work - things are already crazy for Monday morning.

Waiting, waiting...waiting....
Been waiting over 24 hours for my big brother to call me. Or text me. Seems his DIL went into labor yesterday morning - and still has not delivered. I just sent him another text to ask ... he's already calling her "Stubborn Evelyn" because she hasn't arrived yet. I feel for his DIL if she is still in labor! As of this morning, her water had broke, but no baby as of about 6AM. It is now nearly 1PM so I am hoping when he responds it will be with good news.
Work has been going so-so. LOL I had some people going this morning. I didn't mean to. I decided my cluttered desk needed to be cleaned off. Since we had lost the one contract, I didn't need to hold on to all those papers anymore.... decided to let them go. So I cleaned out my file drawer and lots of folders on my desk. It does look a lot better. I'd love to do the cleaning at home - and when I'm alone and can focus, I just might. Unless I get real energetic and just do it! I have always been a paper hoarder - afterall, if you destroy that paper, it's gone. I need to go through things and just shred them. In fact, I have a bag full of papers to be shredded. I got started on it a couple weeks ago and filled two trash bags and was only about 1/3 of the way through the bag! I need to keep at it for it would certainly clean up some areas. I did take some papers out of the file cabinet a couple weeks ago when I was looking for something.... and then I put them back about a week ago when we were expecting someone over and wanted the house clean.
It's hard to plan for a deep cleaning when I'm still working. But I suppose I may as well. In about 5 years I want to sell the house - I think - and I don't want to take any of these things with me. I want to get rid of papers and a lot of other things.
I need to start telling my kids if there is anything they want, they need to let me know. If I'm not using it, they can take it with them. If I am, then I'll make sure it's written down that they get it. I know my daughter has already told me she wants my grandmother clock, but she will have to wait until I die for that one. The boys haven't mentioned anything. They probably don't care.
Well, guess I had better get back to work - my lunch 'break' is about over. I've been doing pretty good about clocking in and out. Thursday I will be gone an hour or so - I'm taking two of my admin friends out to lunch for their birthdays. We finally scheduled a day this morning. It will be fun to hang out with them for a little while.
Hope you are having a good day.... in the meantime, I'm still waiting on a response from my big brother.... nothing yet.
Blessings!

Making Changes....sometimes is easy....sometimes it's not....
I'm sitting here at work eating veggie pretzels after lunch and listening to a coworker talk about her husband. It IS kind of funny.... but I can understand her frustration. Truly I can! Her husband grilled hamburgers - and put the cooked hamburgers back in the wrapper from the butcher. And didn't secure the wrapping. So when she opened the refrigerator, not only were the semi-wrapped burgers staring her in the face, the odor of cooked burgers was throughout the refrigerator. Gotta just sit here and shake my head.
I'm struggling today. I don't really want to be here today. I'm somewhat bored, and my new boss just doesn't talk much to me. Others have noticed it too. That my new boss doesn't talk to me, that is. In fact, one was commenting this morning how well my former boss and I worked together - she would let me know when she got here, always said good morning, and if she had to run off anywhere, was sure to let me know. Also, she would pass on things to me to work on. We would sit and chat to catch up on life and work. We had built a great relationship over the years.
I'm trying to build a relationship with this one, but she is "closed", if you can understand what that means. Thus far, it hasn't been fun working with her. Or for her. She ignores me for the most part. She will chat with her buddy behind me (I've discovered this supervisor will also run to her with everything and tattles on people!!) so now I have to watch what I say out loud, and to whom. I had shared something a few weeks ago with another employee nearby about another employee - no, not gossip, just sharing what had transpired on something. The supervisor ran and told the person I was talking about that I was talking about her. Seriously? It wasn't anything I couldn't have said to her face - and did - but the point I am making is that this supervisor is a tattletale and sits right behind me so I have to watch myself now.
Which also takes the fun away. I think I will need to start looking for another job. I have been hoping that my former boss can find a place for me there, but nothing has come up yet. If I find something else first, I won't leave to work with her, but I'm hoping - and praying - that something will come up before Christmas. Or that things change here. Respect goes a long way.
Need to get back to work - lunch time goes by quickly. Yeah, my new boss is making me clock in and out for lunch now. Before I didn't unless I actually left for lunch with someone. Now I have to even if I work through lunch. So - I sit here and eat my lunch and type a letter or make some notes on here, read a little or whatever, and then clock back in. I wish they would just make me salaried and then it wouldn't be an issue. I got chewed out last payroll because I had overtime. Oh well. Get over it. I will always have overtime or I can start going home around 2 or 2:30 everyday. I have to come in early to get reports sent out - although my new boss has told me she doesn't know why I am the one sending out the reports. So - it wouldn't surprise me if she gave that 'job' to someone else.
Fine. If she wants me to come in later and work just 8 hours, I can do that. Grumble. Why can't life be simple. 7 more years, is what I keep telling myself. I don't think I can handle 7 more years here under this boss.
Trusting God to show me favor.
Blessings!

The end of another month....
Where has all the time gone this year? Someone mentioned this morning that here it is June 30th.... "and you know what that means!" I chose not to comment - but she continued - "Christmas will be here before we know it!" I have no idea what I'm going to do for everyone this year for Christmas. I've already made them all quilts. I'm truly at a loss - not that my children care so much - but what to get the grandchildren. Some I don't even know much about anymore.
We are heading into a 4 day weekend and I'm so happy about it. This has been a tough few weeks here at work and I'm so tired. The past two nights I've even been in bed before 8:30PM! And still have trouble waking up at 4AM. But tomorrow - I can sleep in later, which will be very nice.
Received word that my oldest nephew has had a heart attack. He's in the hospital and they plan to do open heart quadruple bypass surgery on Monday morning. I have spent time praying for him and for the surgeons who will be doing his surgery. He also has a new wife; still in his first year of marriage, I believe. One brother reminded me that our oldest brother had his heart attack at this age. I didn't remember that. I wish our family dynamics were not so bad. My brother gave me permission to share the information with the rest of the family, so I made the phone calls to tell them. My older sister appreciated the notification, as did my younger brother. However, my younger sister already knew about it as the nephew's sister had called her and let her know. And the younger sister never bothered to call any of the rest of the family to tell them. Isn't that interesting.
This morning I was praying that God would give me an affirmation of some sort. I don't remember how I worded it, but I just needed something to give me value. I love how God answers. This morning I have had two people email me how much they value what I do, the little extra things I do and say, the encouragement I give others. I desperately needed that. I need to know I make a difference sometimes cause sometimes I don't feel anyone cares.
I miss my children. It's hard to explain. I know they are older and have their own families, but I miss them. I miss getting to hear how they are doing, what's going on in their families, what they think and what their dreams are. I miss being connected.
No, son, I am not trying to do the guilt trip. One day you will understand what I'm feeling. I often think about my mother, and the fact that I moved away when my children were young. Although they did go back in the summertime, and later on I finally started going back once a year, I never appreciated the fact that she would want to spend time with me.... until the last couple years when I stayed with her and spent that extra time with her. I'm glad I did. I wasn't close to my mother until the last two - three years of her life. We talked, and we visited, but I never felt loved, yet, I knew she loved me.
Perhaps that is why it is so important to me that each of my children know how much that I do love them. I can't do the things I want to do but it isn't because my heart doesn't want to. And, yes, I do have favorites. Each one of my children are my favorite. Each one of my grandchildren are my favorite. There is a trait in each one that I desperately love and admire in each one. And for that trait, I love them with passion and they are my favorite.
Some day, each one will understand what that means.
Blessings!

The atmosphere is so different now....
Since my 'old' boss left a few weeks ago, and my 'new' boss has taken over, the atmosphere around here has really changed. There seems to be no laughter, no joy, from anyone. We don't hear positive affirmations; we are lucky to hear a few words as the 'new' boss is always in her office or at another building for a meeting. Sometimes that is just 'ok'. The more I try to connect with my new boss, the more difficult it seems to be. Can not put my finger on what the issue is. I like her ok, that's not the problem. It's to have a meaningful connection.
And without it, I am wishing I could quit work and just volunteer somewhere. But that's not possible right now. But I have made a decision, and it is a big decision for me. A life-changing decision. I have decided that I will work only 7 more years. I'm sure hubby would go into panic mode if he heard that - and I actually think I have mentioned it in front of him, but don't recall his response. I'm weary of working. I've worked every year but one full year (not counting two pregnancies where I worked until 6 months - which was the rule then) and I was pregnant that year.... since I was fifteen and 1/2 years old. I enjoy what I do, but with all the changes, I don't want to do this anymore.
We just refinanced the house so cannot sell it, but I'm thinking in about five years I can talk hubby into selling it. I'm not sure where we would go from there, but something smaller and less maintenance so that I can start planning to leave the work force. I believe it can be done, living on SS....
I can remember in my early first marriage years when we were so poor we had absolutely nothing. Those were the best times and special memories in my heart. That is when I learned to cook from "scratch" a lot of dishes. Discovered my love for cooking. Did you know that with flour and water you can make just about anything and it will get eaten? We were happy.
In the Bible, seven is the number of completeness. As I pondered about quitting work, and made the decision in seven years, I realized that it had a completeness to it. I felt relief, and even joy, that I could possibly see the light at the end of the tunnel. That in 7 years I can perhaps begin to live life without getting up at 4AM. But I also know that I cannot stay at home. I did "retire" one year which proved that I couldn't ever retire retire..... which could be another blog.... which reminds me, I started this blog when I was on that year of "retirement". So much has changed since then. Work life, family life, family dynamics, etc. Everything has changed.
Life has changed. Sometimes I wish we could go back five years before .............. well, just before. Nothing is the same. I'm not the same. and Life goes on. Musings are done... time to get back to work. I wonder if I should try counting days..........
Blessings!

catching up....
Nacho Bar at work today. I love nachos. I bought some. The office also has a bake sale going on. I bought at the bake sale too. Not that I will eat everything, but I will eat my nachos. I took over my $10 donation.... $5 for the nachos and $5 for baked goods (cookies, cupcake, etc.) so now I'm done. The money is going for school supplies for teachers and students at a couple schools the company has adopted. One school is in Tucson, the other school is in Tempe. Hopefully they will raise a lot of money. I'm really grateful I'm not involved in all that fund-raising. At least this time. They did ask me to make my key lime pie (last fundraiser I donated six key lime pies at $5/slice - or $15 per pie - made a lot of money) but I haven't. Not sure that I will this time. It was a lot of work. I actually forgot about baking last night.... I went to dinner with a girlfriend and hubby has his men's group over.
I keep checking my son's blog and he isn't writing. In fact, according to his last blog, he's still waiting on his new grandchild - who is now two months old! In fairness, he did change jobs and has to go into work MUCH earlier than the used to. He doesn't have the luxury of sitting around and reading blogs in the mornings. And his evenings are apparently filled with other activity. Enough said about that! I miss reading his blogs - especially when he tells stories. I still believe if he really wanted to, he could write a novel and it would be a best seller.
My 'old' boss has moved on to her new company, and I'm still trying to 'connect' with my new boss. She's nice, but I just don't feel connected. It's going on 4 weeks now.... surely we can connect soon. Maybe it is that I don't feel I can just pop into her office and chat like I did with Sue. Speaking of, she is settling in quite well in her new position..... sent me a text on Saturday that she is working on an executive assistant position and will let me know just in case I would be interested. It will definitely be all about the $ if I can move to it. This position is in Mesa which is further than I drive now.... but I figure I can't complain - I have two boys that work in Mesa in different areas. In the meantime, I just continue to do what I've always done... but most of the time I don't have much to do. Maybe my new boss is still trying to figure out what SHE should do.
I'm dealing with a case of 'identity theft' and 'fraud'. A company in California charged my debit card with $280. I protested and the bank reversed the charge. That was in April. This past weekend, my bank turned around and took it back out of my account. When I called the bank, they said the company sent them proof with my name and address on the invoice that I purchased it, so they paid it. I went in to the bank on my way home from work and explained I DID NOT make that purchase, nor did I receive it. Supposedly there is a fed ex delivery involved with it. I am waiting for the invoice copy and fed ex number to be sent to me from the bank. I have also looked up and emailed the California company. It appears to be a beauty supply type company - with hairdryers and curling irons priced over $100 each! Someone bought them some nice equipment with my money. I emailed the company but have not heard back from them. I will give them until I get the information from my bank. If I do not hear and resolve this by then, I will call the police and file a fraud case against the company and against the person who was on the receiving end. I had never even heard of this company - T3 Micro.com. I do hope we can resolve this and I get my money back without my having to report them to the BBB and file fraud charges. I feel the company should have had an alert in place that if the billing address does not agree with the shipping address and they are not a regular customer, there needs to be a flag to request additional proof of identify. Having my debit card number, my address and name, should not be sufficient without a DL number or something else. I was so angry at my bank. I told them that I trusted them to take care of my money, and they have proven I can not trust them to do so. So I'm thinking of taking what little bit I have and just saving it at home. Leave just enough in the bank to pay bills. I'm not sure what I'm going to do but something will be started by this time next week. It has upset me but my hands are currently tied until I get information as to where the delivery was. And I will file fraud charges. Hopefully I can get my $280 back. That's a lot of money for me to lose. Thank God I got paid on Friday before they took it out - but it has created problems.
Oh well. I need to clock back in from lunch - just want to catch my blog up. The song "Even If" by Mercy Me has been running through my mind for a couple weeks now. I think I posted the words in a previous blog. Right now, that's what is holding me intact.
Blessings!

Blessings!

and she's gone....
Yes, my boss is now gone. Rather, I guess I should say my former boss. Friday was her last day at work and I organized a bbq potluck for her - that really turned out well. She was a beloved boss - and really, still is. She started her new job today with the new company. I miss her already.
My day went well, I think. I was busy working on organizational charts and other things. I wish I had the time for I'd like to take some time off - but then it would be a waste for we can't do anything. People just don't understand, and I can't say anything. I only get two weeks a year now... so I've already used one week up, and have another week and a personal day scheduled off. which leaves me 3 personal days. I don't want to waste them - we are barely into 1/2 the year mark. I took two days off a week ago which were a total waste - I should have gone into work.
I've been looking up my ancestry - it's been interesting - but to really find out information, they want you to pay a monthly fee. I'm not to the point yet that I'm willing to pay even the 6 month special price. I had to laugh when I got my dna checked - it immediately came back that my youngest son (who has also submitted his dna) and I are parent child. I laughed. We matched pretty well. It shows we both are a high percentage of scandinavian. which I found interesting. I don't know any relatives from there.
Hubby finally got his back - and although we expected German or Scottish due to his sternness, we were very surprised to find he was 75 percent Great Britain! What a hoot! I've been trying to find out more - but again, they want $$ and I'm not ready to do that. So I keep checking other ways to find out information.
For now, it's been entertaining. Men's group is tonight so I've been vanquished to my back room. Just playing on the computer.
I think I could take a nap though,. But then I wouldn't sleep later.
Think I will go check out more sites. Who knows, I might find something.
Blessings!

Changes - they are all around me......
So many changes are happening around me. Changes that do affect me, changes that do not. I thought I was strong. I thought I could handle change. I really believed I was doing ok.
Then last Tuesday I sat at my desk and pulled every one of my gel fingernails off. The gel polish on my fingernails, that is. Some of the pulling was painful....but yet I persisted in pulling it off and in doing so, also pulled some of the layer of my nail(s) off. I knew what I was doing. I knew it would be painful. But I did it anyway.
Side note.... it just dawned on me while writing this..... I can understand when people 'cut' themselves.... when people 'hurt' themselves.... when people use erasers to rub on their skin in one spot so that it penetrates all the layers of the skin.... I can understand.....
The pain is real. The pain is great. The pain is internal. No one can understand what one is enduring... what one holds in.
I was recently rebuked because I didn't do something that someone thought I ought to do... which in fact was a good thing to do.... but I couldn't let myself. I finally told them.... if I had done this, I would have started crying and I am afraid that once I start crying, I will not be able to control myself. I fight myself - sometimes daily - with my pain I hold inside. Unfortunately, I think I have passed this trait on to my children - especially my boys.
It's ok to cry - it really is. It is a cleansing relief. I know that. But if I cry, it has to be alone with God. He is the One whom I want to comfort me, for He is the ONLY One who can understand my pain, my anguish, my sorrow, my darkest night. I can't let myself go with anyone else. I can almost pinpoint when that happened. When I began to bury my pain. But that's another story.
Changes are going on in our church. Dear friends have left the church and moved on. Both totally unexpected. I had dinner with one friend last week. She explained her departure - and shared with me how Jesus told her to "jump or be pushed". She decided to 'jump'. When she hit the period on the resignation letter, her phone rang with an offer of a position that she truly would love with a prayer ministry that she had worked with before. It was definitely all God. My other friend has left as well. I do not know where God is leading her, but I know He will have His hand on her to guide her and direct her path. Both awesome women of God who let God lead. The church is in turmoil. What will happen I do not know.
Changes are going on at my work. My company was not awarded a contract so when our current contract ends on 9/30/17, over 125 people will be let go ... including my beloved boss. I am not affected because of the position I hold within the company... I can just be moved to another area, another department. But tomorrow is my boss' last day, and it's tough. I've done well thus far, and held back my tears. After all, it's just a job. We are still the best of friends and have a plan B that we have used in the past that we will activate once again. We've been working together right about 25 years. God has blessed her by giving her a very nice position within the company who WAS awarded the contract. She starts there on Monday. And on Monday I officially start working for another boss, back in my original department. It's ok. It's just a new learning curve and building a relationship with a new person.
Changes in life - youngest son just bought a new house and moved (or rather, is moving) further away..... middle son has a new granddaughter..... oldest child/daughter.... trying to talk her into moving closer to us so we can do some things together. Her daughter (our granddaughter) has moved about 5 minutes away from us. And there are other changes. Only God knows how I struggle so with life. Only God knows the anguish I hold in from those who shut me out of their lives. Only God can strengthen me and help me smile and pretend that all is well with my soul. And it is.
There is a song that I hold on to - It is Well With My Soul, and Mercy Me has come out with another song that truly hits home....
Even If
MercyMe
They say sometimes you win some
Sometimes you lose some
And right now, right now I'm losing bad
I've stood on this stage night after night
Reminding the broken it'll be alright
But right now, oh right now I just can't
It's easy to sing
When there's nothing to bring me down
But what will I say
When I'm held to the flame
Like I am right now
I know You're able and I know You can
Save through the fire with Your mighty hand
But even if You don't
My hope is You alone
They say it only takes a little faith
To move a mountain
Well good thing
A little faith is all I have, right now
But God, when You choose
To leave mountains unmovable
Oh give me the strength to be able to sing
It is well with my soul
I know You're able and I know You can
Save through the fire with Your mighty hand
But even if You don't
My hope is You alone
I know the sorrow, and I know the hurt
Would all go away if You'd just say the word
But even if You don't
My hope is You alone
You've been faithful, You've been good
All of my days
Jesus, I will cling to You
Come what may
‘Cause I know You're able
I know You can
I know You're able and I know You can
Save through the fire with Your mighty hand
But even if You don't
My hope is You alone
I know the sorrow, I know the hurt
Would all go away if You'd just say the word
But even if You don't
My hope is You alone
It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul

It's the little things.....
I had a good Mother's Day. It's not often that I can say that, but this year I can. It was a very good time of year.
The day before Mother's Day I received a package in the mail. It was a sprinkler can full of bulbs that had about 1" growth on them. Barely could see them at first. By Monday they were about 6" high. Yesterday, Thursday, 3 of the bulbs had blooms and a sweet fragrance was in the kitchen. The green is about a foot high now (all in less than a week!!) and there are a few more bulbs getting ready to pop open with flowers. It is beautiful!
So I text'd my son who sent me the flowers a photo of the flowers that have come up already. Here is our conversation:
(photo)
Still blooming - these give off a
beautiful fragrance!
I'm glad Mothers Day brought
you something you are enjoying
on a daily basis .... looks like
more to bloom yet as well.
I am enjoying them very much -
and yes, several more ready to
bloom. (heart) them! Love you!
heh. Just remember ... and
enjoy!
I won't even say I'm the
favorite....because I don't need
to say it....
LOL
Now you know I don't have
favorites!!
Never said I was..... you got two
other kids that believe they are.
I'm just a guy that loves his
mom.
(heart) (smiley blow kiss)
Heh. Whatever.
love ya mom
Love you too!
and this morning I got up to...
Iknow. You tell me often
enough.....
and I'm glad I do. I want all my children to know how dearly I love them. They really don't have a clue... unless they think about how much they love their own children. Then they may have a glimpse of my love for them.
Mother's Day my youngest son and his family came over after church and he grilled steaks and I fixed sides to go with it. Afterwards we watched a movie and it was a really good afternoon. Even hubby didn't have too many complaints. :)
My daughter and her children text'd me.... I think we are getting together for dinner soon. That's what I told her that I wanted. 1:1 time. That's what I tell all my children (and grandchildren). I want memories made. I'm glad her children waited on her for Mother's Day.
Monday I had the holiday continue.... I received another box... only this time it was chocolate dipped cookies! Yes, I have been eating them! And they are the best I've had in a long time - they are soooo good! Again, a gift from the son who sent the flowers - but his note this time blessed me. It said (I'm trying to remember) "sending more love - because I can" or something like that. I am blessed.
I don't have favorites. I don't want favorites. I want to love my children and my grandchildren - and my great-grandchildren uniquely in their own way. They are each a blessing to me. Yes, I get my feelings hurt and feel pushed aside sometimes, but the times my children stop to just say "I love you, mom", I know that I feel truly blessed.
Thank you, Jesus, for the blessings you give me.

What does the future hold....
Lots of changes going on in my company. We lost our contract for one population, so my boss will be out of a job within a few months. Normally it would also affect me, but since she is a VP and I'm an executive assistant, they can move me into another department and keep me. (which means neither of us get a severance package) But, she has found another job and will be leaving this company on June 9th. This is a great loss for the company, and I really wish they had found a place for her, but they didn't. They are actually letting her go. She had two opportunities to move into the corporate realm and do other things, but she has chosen to go to the company who did win a contract, and help them set up their new department. Most of that department here will be going with her.
I have been asked numerous times the past month if I am going with her. Even more so since she has officially given her notice. For right now, I say no. I don't know what I'm going to do. I heard that most of the staff will be going to the Mesa area office; but my boss feels she will be going to an office nearby. So I have taken the stance that my answer will probably be 'no', because I don't want to drive numerous more miles to get to work.
Until yesterday when I was talking with a friend who also had accepted a position with this new company and encouraged me to come too. I told him that I didn't want to drive that far.... then he pointed out that the office was only 5 more miles down the freeway. Only 5 more miles? Hmmmmm that may not be bad. So I've gotten to thinking about it - and my boss is all for it. But, we both agree that I am going to wait until she gets started, and then see what is available. At one point we knew there were 3 admin positions open - however, I am a grade level or two above that. Well, that could be just this company. If they would offer me more money to leave and be an admin - I just might do it, for it isn't about the title. Nor about more money. But I can't take much less. It's more working with my boss whom I have worked with for nearly 25 years and love dearly. We are a good fit - and it's hard to make that tight of a connection with your boss/employee.
So for now, I'm just waiting it out. She starts June 12th at her new position. By end of summer, I may be leaving here.... or I may be staying. My boss and I will remain friends and stay in touch so it isn't that. There was about 3 years we didn't work together and we met once a month to walk a few miles then have breakfast together to catch up. If we have to go back to that - we can. By end of summer, maybe I will know what my future will hold as far as employment. I know I have to work; I don't have a choice in that. I may as well do something I enjoy with someone I enjoy working for.
Stay tuned.... life is full of changes.
Blessings!

I am so excited....
cause we are going to see our new great-grandbaby this weekend! I have had this yearning within me for several days now to go see her, but other things have been in the way. I found we weren't scheduled for anything at church this weekend but I did have a lunch scheduled on Saturday with a friend. I opted to send my friend an email and ask to move it to next week. I contacted my granddaughter to see if we could come down - and she said hubby was working nights, but we could come down. So it is settled. I emailed my hubby and told him we were going - and that we will talk later. His response was just "ok".
I am so looking forward to even the drive down. I am even willing to take my life in my hands and let hubby drive if he insists. I have felt the need to getaway for a few weeks - just tired of work, and routine. The past two weekends, after church, we have napped, watched a little tv (baseball games) and read. BORING. It's getting too hot to talk hubby into going for a walk.
I'm sitting in a meeting at the moment but we have a couple people who ramble... so while they are talking, thought I would try to get this written. That's the advantage I have of bringing my computer to the meeting. Of course I use it as well to answer emails and set up meetings. And eat. I ordered good food today - we have salad, rolls, fried/baked potatoes (cut up), rosemary chicken, and mmmm lasagna. And cookies for dessert.
And I can't eat most of it. My youngest son has become a distributor for a new program - and although he did not pressure me, I finally told him last week that I would give it a try. He gave me the 24 day challenge pak as a Mother's Day present and he asked me NOT to start it unless I was going to be committed to doing it. I started on Sunday, which means this is day 4. The first three days haven't been too bad.............
Day one - Sunday - I was able to stay on target easily enough. Had hubby grill a bunch of chicken and I prepped some meals for the week.
Day two - Monday. I'm at work. My day starts with a friend bringing me two Grandma cookies. I put them in my boss' and my snack box. Later that morning another friend gave me a chocolate chip cookie from Einsteins. I gave it away. Then a friend brings me a Green Tea - sweetened with high fruclose corn syrup. It's in my desk drawer. At 3:15PM a supervisor came by and offered me birthday cake. I resisted.
Day three - Tuesday. Offered a donut as I came in the door. Had a meeting lunch so only ate the salad and I had brought a piece of grilled chicken so had that with it. Then I'm told there is a potluck in the department by me - but I said no thank you. Then another department came and told me they were having a potluck and for me to come over and get... again I had to say no thank you. Then someone had birthday cake. AGAIN I had to say no thank you.
I have finally started telling people what I am doing so that they will NOT invite me to come eat - although I would be offended if they didn't ask me.... but for now, for these 24 days of challenge, I am really trying hard to be good.
and now we are at Day four. I had my shake this morning and I'm doing good - had a small snack this morning. Now I'm in this catered lunch meeting. The lunch of which I described above. I think I will be cutting back on food for the rest of the day. I don't want to get on the scale until Sunday. I'm trying hard to do this right.
My saying "I should have been born rich instead of just beautiful" still applies. It would be nice to be both. In the meantime...
Blessings!

This new computer......
is driving me nuts. Of course I have to accept it, as it was a gift. Actually, I don't think it is the computer itself, it is the windows 10 that is on it. I DO NOT LIKE WINDOWS 10! I don't like Cortana or whatever her name is. I don't like the way Microsoft adds programs to my computer that I do not want. It irritates me that it won't stay the same size - I can be working on something and the screen size will change and I can't .... daggone - as I sit here and type - it has totally minimized my print - oh great - now the letters are going up and down! I have no idea what is going on. See what I don't like this windows 10? I loved my windows 7 and could get it to do most everything I wanted. I try not to even get on this computer because I dislike it so much. I wonder if my neighbor would delete windows 10 and add windows 7 for me.... he said that he could one time. I think I will talk with him about it. Oh and I cannot get it to download my photos from my phone - AND the shift key on the right side is one extra key over so I have to be careful whenever I hit it as I end up using the pg up key which is in it's place and my words then jump up on the page.
But on a good note.... my new great-granddaughter is so beautiful and is doing very well, as is my granddaughter. I got a new photo last week. Love it. Can't wait for them to come up so that I can hold her (although I know grandpa and I will be in a fight about it. sigh. I always seem to lose. I was trying to figure out today if there was a way we could go down....
It's Sunday and for some reason when we came home from church we both were exhausted - I think I slept an hour - and I'm pretty sure I woke him up at an hour and a half! Don't know why we both were so tired. We had talked yesterday about going to the home and garden show .... but of course here we sit watching baseball on tv.
Not that any one's life is perfect.
And with that, I've written enough. I still don't like this computer.
Blessings!

I have fallen in love again......
My great-granddaughter was born last night and she is the most beautiful baby in the world! I have completely fallen in love again. My granddaughter was texting me last night was she was at the hospital and called me around 3:30AM this morning to give me the news. Then daddy posted photos on facebook, and mommy sent me photos - and I just melted. I wanted so bad to post it everywhere and tell everyone.... but I want to be respectful and allow mommy, daddy, and the new grandparents to do that first. At least I could share here at the office and with close friends. I've already told them not to expect a lot out of me here at work today - I'm too busy showing off photos!!
It is now later in the day and it hasn't changed.... I am still so in love with this little girl. She is so beautiful and everyone comments how much she looks like her mama - and of course her mama looks like her mama, who looks like her mama..... What a precious gift God has blessed us with!
We had a bake sale at work today and will have again tomorrow. And, because I always over-do - I made two batches of cranberry pumpkin nut bread (two loaves without nuts) (and put one batch in the freezer)and made 6 - yes, six - key lime pies and brought in today. I checked after today - one whole pie was bought, six slices of the second pie was purchased. There are 4 pies left and since we are having a baked potato bar tomorrow for lunch, I'm sure others will be buying a piece of pie for dessert. Hopefully. There were so many things to choose from today - cookies, oreo balls, pretzels with chocolate drizzle, other pies, cakes of all kinds, cookies - and all the funds go to the Arthritis walk. It's all donation so I don't mind giving things I've made. It makes me feel good, I confess, when people tell me they tried something and really liked it. One asked for the recipe for the key lime pie - which is quite simple as it is a WW recipe.
Saturday is hubby's birthday. I haven't done (yet) what I was planning to do.... still want to do it. Is it possible he would read this within the next two days? I know he rarely reads here anymore - but if I write down what I plan, he will then know - so I will wait. The plan is to go to the buffet place we often go to for family gatherings. I gave him an option of going for pizza instead at our favorite place - but he thought it would be better to go to the buffet. I don't care one way or another - it's just easier to get the family in one place. It is his 80th birthday and we all wanted to celebrate it some way, but he is so sensitive about his age, I didn't know how to go about it. I did devise a way he can get cards, which will be given to him at the dinner.
I wish I could feel safe with his driving, for not this weekend, but maybe the next, I would make a trip down to see our new great granddaughter. But, it's better to just wait for them to make the trip up - and I will have to share my time with others in town. It is what it is, I guess. If he would let me drive, I would plan it out, for sure. Of course I am sure some new grandparents will be making lots of trips down that way to see this new grandchild as well.
And it's about time for me to go home. Trying to get ahold of "Aunt Sue" to take her to dinner tonight (and show photos) but haven't gotten ahold of her yet. Maybe on the way home. She will be so excited too, for she loves our granddaughter as well.
I was so excited this morning without thinking about it, I started to change my profile photo on Facebook, meaning to just make this photo on my phone, but was in Facebook and didn't think about it.... then once I changed it out, I thought to myself I shouldn't change my profile photo to our new baby until the grandparents have a chance to post and share.... so I inserted another photo of me. And finally did get our new great-grandchild posted to my phone so that when I open it up, there she is. I'll wait a little while, then maybe I'll change my profile photo.... but... this is what happens when one gets so excited about someone and wants to be respectful of everyone else... after all.... THEY are the parents, the grandparents..... :-) It's all good.
I need to go home. My day has truly been full of ...
Blessings!
