Dang! My son posted a hot topic on his post this morning - and I must admit that I agree with him. I even had to go to the post that he was referring to - and I think some of the comments had been deleted, but I got the jest of it for sure. Before family members are brought into discussions - whether for or against - it definiely needs to be asked the question - is this useful? I better ask them just to be sure. DUH.
Excellent response by the daughter-in-law for sure.
Today is Friday and I am so glad. I haven't gotten minutes done like I had planned this week, but I just couldn't focus. I have so much going on about me - packing, constant interruptions, the dog, breakfast, lunch, dinner... after awhile it all runs together. I've been sitting here for an hour and a half and have barely gotten through emails from the office.
But I do need to work on these minutes today. I shuold. I ought to.
We move this weekend. Bittersweet thought. Now that it's here, I'm anxious to get it over with and then to be left alone. What I mean is, I know we are going to have people all around us for the next few days, helping with packing/moving and all that. It's going to be crazy, chaotic, and busy. It means long days and busy days. It means poor Sheeba has to stay in her crate while all this is going on so she doesn't get in the way. Or run off when the doors are open.
The weekend/week of dread.
I like being alone. I mean, I love having family around me, I really do. I love having friends over. But, basically, I am a loner. Well, actuallyy, maybe I'm not really a loer.... it's just being with hubby 24 x 7 that I have started going a little insane with his constant interruptions and even with his hearing aids, having selective hearing. I still have to repeat myself most times 2-4 times. No exaggeration. Just now, he walked into my room, I saw the pool guy had pulled up so I commented to hubby the pool guy was here. What? Bob, the pool guy is here. What? BOB. THE POOL GUY IS HERE. Oh, well, I put his check out there already.
Whatever. And he wonders why I don't want to talk to him. I told him before he got the hearing aids that if he didn't get them, I would quit talking to him because I'm tired of yelling it three-four times. Now the TV gets turned up way too loud for me - and he is still wearing his hearing aids. What is wrong with this picture. Anyone know some good earplugs that will stop that noise? My brother told me about some his wife used - and they were fairly expensive, but I think I am going to go ahead and order them. I can't read when the TV is on because it's too loud. So I knit or crochet. But sometimes I'm in a good book and I want to read it. I want to get caught up in my reading again as I've gotten way behind.
And I need to stop adn get to work. I'm off work on Monday - plus we won't have itnernet until who knows when. Hopefully on Monday as I need to work on Tuesday. If not, I guess I go to my daughter's house to work for the day. That could be a good thing. It's nice and quiet there. :-)
Have a great weekend!n

It's been a day already!
What is wrong with this day? One of my bosses wanted this big two hour meeting.... and told me who she wanted in it... and included the executive assistants/admins involved. No problem. I started sending emails and giving suggestions of time and dates and waited for their responses. I moved meetings, I did everything I could to get everyone requested.
Then after I schedule the meeting, I sent a note to my boss on when it was scheduled and that everyone (and listed the names) of who would be attending. Then she says that one of the people didn't need to attend. I thought I misread it so I sent her another email. She again sent it back with this person did NOT need to attend. So I went back to the original email. She was right. I saw the Executive Assistant's name - but it was for the other person she supported - not both of them. Geez. So we got to clear his calendar off, which is a good thing. LOL A couple other admins just sent me an IM about THEIR days! It has definitely been a day for several people! It looks cloudy out some - I wonder if that is it?!
I still have minutes I need to type and I haven't even been able to pull them up to get started on them. It's 1:31 already. Yes, I could be typing those instead of this, but I do get a break once in a while. Hubby was bugging me about lunch - so we had leftover meatloaf so I fixed myself a meatloaf sandwich - and was it ever good! Now to try and get through the afternoon.
Then the evening comes and I have to clean out from under the beds so that we can have things ready to be moved this weekend. I actually don't have to rush to do it for I don't think they are going to move anything until Sunday afternoon. But stlil, I have so much to get done. Hubby only works on his things; he doesn't know what to do with anything else. If it wasn't for my daughter doing all the packing last month we still would have the entire house to pack up. I've already gotten several boxes setting around to be taken over. I hope they take the furniture first. I'm leaving it for my son-in-law to coordinate. Hubby doesn't know where to even begin as I don't think he has ever handled the moving. Oh well, it will get done. At least he is contacting the vendors we use for the house and 'cutting them off' and letting them know our new address. I need to get started on the bank and other things to get those done. I need to make myself a list too.
Got to go see our graduated grandson last evening and that was pretty cool. His dad volunteered him to help us move this weekend if he is available. Pretty cool. I love having the grandchildren around and even if they can move boxes into the garage that is a help. I just need to let my son-in-law know so that he can let me know when they will be needed. No sense in making them stand around. I will have to put the majority of things away.
I just wish I could figure out what to do with the furniture. sigh. The beds and things are fairly easy. It's the little room that I am allowed to have that I can't figure out. I need to put a work desk there - and get my computer set up for work. I don't want to be in the 2nd bedroom cause I don't know how long I will be working from home - and if we get someone to visit, I'd have to move it out anyway. I'm so undecided.
My youngest will be heading back to Indiana on Tuesday, but he said he could help on Sunday and Monday. I tried to word it when I asked, if it could be just he and my granddaughter to help..... she can unpack my dishes. But, they leave early Tuesday morning so will see. I may get them Monday which would be nice.
Guess break is over and I need to get back to work.

Yes, I can spell....
It never ceases to amaze me that I can type out a post, reread it, and the next day if I scan to see what I typed, I invariably will find numerous words that are misspelled. How can I do that? I type slowly so that I can watch what I am typing. I look at the words and spell them as I type. How can I get so many words that are misspelled? Yes, I can go back and edit - but by then a couple people have read it - so why bother.
Made a run in to the office yesterday and met up with my boss and another friend. We got to have lunch together and catch up a bit - which was nice. Then I had an hour and 15 minute drive to get home. Good grief! Don't people know they are to be staying at home? Where is all this traffic coming from in the middle of the day?! I worked at the office some and of course had to jump online again when I got home.
Trying to figure out how this move is going to happen, and if I can / should take time off. I mean yes, I would like to take time off, but I'm not sure how much time I have. Will need to check it out - and see also if I can take time off. But all in all, the big move is happening quickly now.
We got pre-possession of the house yesterday and the electricia is fixing what needs to be fixed. The painters already removed the popcorn ceilings (and I hear in more rooms than they were told to), and are getting ready to start the painting throughout the entire house. THEN the carpeting starts and it may not be finished until Saturday. Come Sunday - which is supposed to be a day of rest - will probably end up being the start of moving day. I hate that, but we gotta get moved!
So now I'm trying to decide if I should take Monday off which will be a big push to get things moved day - or - wait until Wednesday which would be a big unpacking day. I mean I know I will be unpacking all along once we start getting things moved over. I'm tired already just trying to figure out what I can do. Having to work causes a big problem. I have to be online. We are working on getting internet transferred on the 30th - which means I may need to work at my daughter's for the day - then move on into the house. I still don't know where I'm going to be to work at the house.
No one seems to understand that I have to get the furniture in place in order to see if it will fit. I have a feeling I will end up being in the back room to have my office. Especially since hubby took over the front office with the nice big desk/bookcase section for "his" room. I just looked at him and said 'I'm the one that's working' - but he informed me he works on things too. It's like 'whatever'. He would stick me in a closet as long as I bring home a paycheck. Sorry, a little anger there. And I would probably enjoy the space and relish no interruptions.
Long story short - we have to be out of this house midnight July 1 beccause we sign papers on July 2nd and the new owners will be able to move in as soon as they sign. Which means we have to get out so that it can be cleaned. Yeah, I'm nicer than the people who were in this before. They moved out the very day we were to move in - and took their time doing it! Didn't clean anything. Left us a big mess, dirty carpets and all that. We even had to wait outside while they moved their things out.
Internet. Hubby just informed me it will be turned off 11:59PM June 30th and we have to meet them at the new location on July lst for them to set it up. Which means I may be working at my daughter's - or take the time off work. I'm kind of torn on what to do. I may decide to work our holiday July 3rd to just make up my time. I'm salaried, but I don't take extra time without trying to make it up.
Ok - need to look at the calendar and what time I have for vacation and sick time so that I can see if I can possibly even take all next week off to help move us. It would make it more convenient - and yet, there isn't much I can do for I can't move boxes or furniture. Yet, I feel 'lazy' by not helping move things. At 70 years old, I don't have as much strength as I used to - I know that. Need to work on that.
God is busy getting everything lined up for us - He is just moving so fast! We still need to go shopping to get a new mattress and possibly a new bed, and a new washer/dryer. UGH. I'm tired already.
Have a great day!

God is always in control
The uncertainty of yesterday came to an end mid-day. Our realtors came ovre and said they ahve good news and bad news - which did I want first. I thought about it and decided the good news first. But they decided to give us the bad news first. What is it? They can't get us any more money. That puzzled me so I asked what it meant. That moved into the good news - the people want our house and are moving forward with the plan to purcahse it and we will sign papers on July 2nd to sell them this house, and we will sign papers to take on the new place.
As for the bad news comment? If these people had rejected because we were not going to fix everything they wanted - we would fix what we could and put back on the market for immediate possession - and our house value has gone up $20K since Memorial Day. So we could haev sold it for more.
But I don't care. I am ready for them to take it over, and according to the inspection report, there are a few little things that need to be done and it will add up. If they want windows that open, they will have to buy new windows. I get that. I'm just not going to pay for them. And then move. I'm happy with what we are getting out of it. It gives us a large chunk to pay on the new place, plus pay off my new vehicle, and get a few things we will need at the new location - like a new washer adn dryer and refrigerator. And a new mattress for our lumpy dippy bed. :-) You know exactly what I'm talking about. I'd really like to get rid of that bed - I haven't liked it for a long time.
Now this is interesting. Walgreens just text'd me that my prescription can't be refilled because of insurance issues. I transferred my one prescription a couple months ago.... I think I know what it is. My one prescription ran out - yep - I called Walgreens. I was nearly out of pills so sent a text to the place where I originally had gotten it (before my doctor left that practice). They called me in a one month supply - and now I have to schedule an appointmetn to go in and get lab work done. No biggie. I haven't gotten a new doctor yet so will just deal with it.
Ok - back to the beginning of this post. We will sign papers next week but will actually start moving things over this weekend, I imagine. At least the furniture that is now in the house. I have way too much 'stuff'. We have a built-in microwave now so have this really nice microwave we will have to get rid of. Plus a couple stands. Not sure yet what I'm going to do with my tv. TOOOO MUUUHCCCHHH SSTTTUUUFFFFF!!!!!!
Ok - I gotta run into the office today so need to shut things down. Plus hubby has come in to sit down in here.... which means he wants my undivided attention.
Maybe I can catch up tomorrow.
All in all, God is good - He has taken care of this entire situatio. I guess it's time for us to move.

Monday morning uncertainty
I say that becasue we are waiting. The people who want to buy our house, as I've mentioned before, have invested some money to check things out. That really doesn't mean anything - it just means they want to know if anything is really bad before they move in.
I'm somewhat confused, though. On one thing, anyway. I was talking to our neighbor this morning and he asked if we had sold the house yet and I told him that we were at the point where we tell them what we will do and they either say ok - or reject the house. He commented that he had seen people looking at the front yard last week.... I said yes, I knew they had someone come out to check the sewer line. He looked at me and said 'the sewer line is in the back - on the other side of your pool. It isn't going through your front yard." Now isn't that interesting. I have (and still don't)no idea where it is. But, it isn't my problem. The person who came out should know where the sewer line is. (and maybe my neighbor doesn't know?)
We had the warranty company send a pool guy out last week to fix a leak at the pool pump. Saturday morning we noticed the ground was wet around the pump - AND - the concrete block thta surrounds the pool pump was wet. Hmmmm. Placed a call to the warranty company and to the pool company - who said they didn't work on weekends. So they are back today to work on the leak. It has leaked quite a bit, in my opinion. I guess it is the pull handle for the aerator, which is another interesting thing. The Inspector had turned it when he was here, and took a photo that it wasn't workign. Did he not shut it completely off? Could he have done something that prevented it from shutting off completely? Not intentionally, of course. The pool guy says they don't make these parts any more - however, he just happened to have the part needed in his van. Interesting. Of course the pool was put in probably over 30 years ago and I imagine it was by the people who lived here - and not professionals.
I'm still overwhelmed by all the things the inspector called out - outlets without covers (where did he find these?), wires not inside a wall (really? it's in the storage room!), couldn't work the air conditioner (yeah, there are two - but we never have used them so who knows?), windows don't open (well, duh, they were painted shut before we moved in. See, these are things that were in plaec before we bought the house, and we didn't use them. There was not an inspection done back in the 90's cause they didn't do them at that time. We bought the house 'as is'. It has given us a few headaches over the years, but overall, it has served us well. The air conditioner outside is old, but it still works very well. Unfortunately the inspector says the temperature difference in the house shoudl be room to room only a few degrees different - and the warmest room was about 16 degrees different, I think. The room I am in now is the coolest in the house - plus our bedroomm, but oveall, the house remains fairly constant for the rooms you are in. The house isn't in perfect condition - and won't be without a complete remodel. It is 59 years old - expect wear and tear.
We received a list of 9 things to repair/replace, as I mentioned before. Other than the pool replaster, I think we have completed most, if not all of them. The electrician still needs to come out and check on the pool light. Other than that - we will see what they say when we say no to replaster the pool. It's as $1200-$1500 headache I don't want to deal with. We already dropped the price $5K for them, plus agreed to pay part of the closing costs. And I say 'enough'. If they want the house, they'll accept what we can (and I will be happy to buy electric covers and put on the ones the inspector found - if I can find them!) do and have done.
I walked Sheeba this morning a little longer than usual - nearly 4 miles - and during that time I prayed about the house, about the buyers. I just asked God that if we weren't to move yet, stop it. If they aren't the right people to buy it, they can reject it. I don't care. I'm not stressing. I put it in God's hands and asked Him to take care of it. If He wants it to happen for us, then nothing will stop it or stand in the way. We have until 7/31 to accept the house we have chosen to move to and pay that mortgage. If these buyers say no, we will work on the list the inspector identified and keep it on the market with immediate possession. In the meantime, we have pre-possession of our new place starting tomorrow and we're getting the entire inside painted and carpets shampooed, things fixed that need to be fixed. Once we know about this place - gasp! the original closing date/sign papers is next week! - wonder if we could move it up so that we can get out of here.
Oh well. God's in control. If He wants us to move sooner, He will open the door to make it happen. If we aren't to move at all, He will shut them. I'm trusting in His wisdom, His timing. I know mine isn't doing real well.
Happy Monday!

Ready for the weekend....
It has been a crazy busy week this week! That's what happens when I take a couple days off, I guess. But it's been a couple big 2 hour meetings in which I had to sit in and take minutes - and that's not counting scheduling meetings. I had 165 emails when I came back to work on Tuesday. I've finally gotten through all those emails and more.
Hubby is getting ready to take Sheeba to get her yearly checkup and shots I think this morning. Regardless what it is for, I am looking forward to quiet and peace for at least an hour. I treasure those moments when there is silence. Maybe I will be motivated to get started on a set of minutes. I have 5 on my list to get done. Yeah, I've had to start writing them down - I'm afraid I'll forget one of them. Three are from 2-hour meetings; two from 1.5 hour meetings. So, yeah, gonna be busy for awhile. I don't have a lot on my calendar today so hopefully I can get them - at least one or two - done.
Been busy working on things for the house. The house we are currently in. Well, I haven't but hubby has been trying to get some people lined up to fix things. We got the inspection report and what the buyers want us to fix. They listed 9 things so we are working on them. One we just cannot do. They want us to replaster the pool (which it needs but isn't critical) and paint it white. Sorry- they added painting it white which changes it to cosmetic and we don't have to do that. We have no place to drain the pool and it will take $1200 to replaster it. We've already checked that out. It's not critical - it isn't leaking. Other items included fixing the waterfall pump - which has been fixed and it works perfectly. There were a few other issues with the pool which most have been done. One is the pool light - and since we haven't used the pool, we had no idea it was out. We will have to get someone to come fix it. And a couple other pool things. We had our home warranty out yesterday and they fixed a couple things too so we are trying to do their list.
Our please repair list for our new place contained ten items, but these are items that are all electric issues - hall light wasn't working, (not the bulb), open elctric box needs a cover, a couple other electrical things- I don't remember what they were. The owner said no - lol - her son-in-law told the realtor working for us to get it fixed and send him the bill. He would willingly pay it just to get rid of the house as it has been sitting empty for about six months.
So, depending on when things progress on this house - and if it will (the buyers have invested a lot in to checking things out so I would be surprised if they back out now) meet their approval, we can get a date scheduled to sign papers. Initially it was July 2nd, and it still could be. Most of our things are packed already and in storage. In fact, I can't even remember what we have in storage. Guess that is a sign we need to let it go.
I'm gradually weeding out some other things here. Some things I really don't want to get rid of, but I have no place for them. I keep telling myself that they are just "things". If they got caught up in a fire I would not bother to replace them. But still....
The mini marathon that I recently completed sent y t-shirt, hat and medal and I received it yesterday. The past two marathons the shirts were too big. So I dropped from a large to a medium. There is no way I can even pull over my head, I don't think. Gonna see if my youngest granddaughter wants it for I don't know of anyone else it would fit. They also sent me an email yesterday that I can walk 100 miles or 500 miles from June 22nd to December 31 - and for $60 I can get another medal and tshirt. I'm going to do it. I think my youngest son is as well. Even for 500 miles, it is only 2.6 miles a day - and I do 2.4 right now with walking the dog every morning. I can just add a block or two to the route and I have my 2.6 miles a day. They are doing it to help us keep healthy. I need it cause I sit on my butt all day.
I need to get busy so will hush. Stopped by the dentist yesterday and he looked at the infection and said it was good. I go in August for a cleaning and he said we'll talk about a crown then if I want one to fill the gap. I'm leaning towards it - I'm tired of these infectoins. I really like this dentist. He wasn't pushing me to set up an appointment to get it done.
Have a great weekend - don't know if I'll be online or not.

Return from Jailbreak Getaway 2020
Oh what a fun time it was - and so desperately needed by me - and I think by my daughter, anyway. We left early (like 8AM) on Friday morning, stopped at Einstein Bagels for a bagel then headed up the road. It didn't take long to get up to Prescott so we went shopping! We stopped at a couple stores before heading to Hobby Lobby where I stocked up on yarn. Yeah.... I didn't take but one skein of yarn with me intentionally cause I knew I wanted to get more. :-) I didn't get THAT much more yarn, but several skeins thta I had a few things to work on. I did nearly finish a baby blanket but - alas - I didn't get the right color of yarn to match so will have to go back. Darn.
We ran an errand then stopped to see if to see if we could check in - and they let us! We had a queen suite which has two queen beds and a sofa bed in the other room. I took the sofa bed so that we all could sleep without sharing. Usually the daughter and granddaughter share - but this time the granddaughter is pregnant AND has this hugemongus blue pillow that is shaped like a U and she somehow wraps that all around her - I don't know. So this worked out well. I even had doors I could shut between us so that I had more privacy. Or they did. I wake up much earlier than they do so was able to do my quiet time before they were even up.
I can't even remember the sequence of things we did now. We did unpack and go back out for lunch, then headed to a spa where granddaughter and I got toes and nails done (daughter had gotten hers done earlier in the week). Then while the granddaughter rested in our room, daughter and I went to the (gasp!) casino. Yeah, I played the penny machine and lost $15 and quit. I don't usually even play but did whlie the daughter did. We picked up dinner and brought back to the room where we ate and watched the movie 'The Pacifier' - I liked it. Crochet/knitting was the event of the evening and then off to bed I went.
It was really weird the day we left. After I had gotten dressed and hubby and I were sitting at the table waiting on the time I needed to leave, I glanced down at the inside of my arm and where I usually donate blood from - it was really weird - the entire area on the left and right arm - same area - were puffy and red, as though something had bitten into my blood vein and sucked it up. The left side was much bigger than the right side and it wasn't hot, but it was hard on the left side. So very strange. It was there Friday morning, but was gone completely by Monday morning. Still don't know what it was.
Oh - backtrack on my "fever"! I did get to the dentist on Thursday. I did have a gum infection and he popped it open and got some puss out then irrigated it. Gave me amoxicillin to take and a rinse to do twice a day. I go back this Thursday for him to see what it looks like and what we need to do. I really like this new dentist. He doesn't seem to be gungho on 'let's do a crown' or anything like that - it's 'let's see what is going on'. It did puff up again on Sunday but I used my tongue to push it down, continuing with the antibotic and rinse. It seems to be ok now. And I am grateful no fever followed me anywhere!
On Saturday after breakfast we had reservations to get our hair done at a hair salon close by. We had time so went to a restaurant called 'Apple Pan Restaurant' and it was really good. The server said 'my name is ......' if you need anything and we about fell outf our chair - it was my name! Had to get a photo of 'us' and posted it on facebook. After we had lunch we went to the salon. Now I wasn't sure what I wanted done, so the daughter and granddaughter went first.
Granddaughter couldn't ecide what color (without touching the scalp)so the person put 3-4 colors together and it really looks gorgeous in the light - reds/purples. Gorgeous. Daughter went a little darker on color and a light trim. It really looks good on her - and reminds me of some of my younger high school photos due to the length of her hair.
Me, I just asked for bangs and had my hair lightly layered and styled. I was very pleased with mine too.
After getting our hair done we walked on to the town square where they were having a big craft fair of some sort. It was fun walking through and looking at everything. I bought hubby some things that this person 'swore' would help the arthritis pain in his shoulder. Whatever. He used it last night but hasn't commented yet. After that we stopped and got something to eat - at Applebees I think it was - and they messed up on daughter's meal and put way too much spice on it so she couldn't eat it. Swapped my bland meal (cause I love grilled chicken, mashed potatoes and brocolli) for hers so that she could eat. I attempted to eat hers. dou
Sunday morning my grandson treated us to breakfast. Well, we invited him to join us and he picked up the bill without us noticing. At least I didn't noticeFrom there we went back to the room for awhile. After a bit we all three went to the casino - where I won $60 playing the roulette game. And I quit while I was ahead. We went out to dinner after that and then back to the room for awhile. Daughter and granddaughter went back to the casino but I didn't - I wanted to relish I won $60. Let's figure this out to be completely honest. I lost $15 the first night. Then the hotel gave us $20 to play as a promo for something. So I "made" $5 from that.... then walked away with a total of $60.... guess I ended up making $45 - with $20 of that being the promo. I don't care - I still have $60.
I enjoyed the time alone Sunday evening. I opened the balcony door and watched the sunset over the valley, singing to God and talking with Him and telling Him I love Him and thanking Him for His goodness and faithfulness to me. It was awesome. So peaceful and quiet (except for my singing) and just being with Him.
Monday morning we started packing and decided to cut out a little early. (check-out was 11AM). We packed up the car and headed to Starbucks for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich before heading down the road. We got a detour at one point and had to go down a dirt road - which got my car filthy. Stopped at Rock Springs for lunch; the others bought pies to take home but I resisted.
Stopped to get my car washed before we got all the way to my daughters. Got to my daughter's about 2:55PM when my phone rang... sigh.. "where are you? you checked out at 11AM!" Now mind you I had to call in EVERY night I was away. I reminded him that I said I would be home late afternoon (meaning 4-5PM). I told him we were in Phoenix, at my daughter's and I would be home shortly. He started in we could have been hurt and he had been worried, etc etc. O.M.G. and I don't even say that! Irritated I got my things and came home.
Got chewed out as I came in the door about how worried he had been. He has yet to comment on my bangs (which I hadn't had before I left) nor on my nails or toes. He finally commented on my nails at lunch today. Still nothing about my hair - because he doesn't like long hair. Too bad. I do and I'm keeping it. Although he does wear me down on occasion with his complaints about it.
I don't think he was really worried about me. He's more worried about how he can live up to his standards without my paycheck if something happens to me. He may be in for a shock when I finally DO decide to 'retire' in a year or so. With the move I want to get some things and get rid of some things and once that is done - I'm good to retire. Just have one bill I really would like to get paid off first.
And this is one long post so I'm shutting up. I'm grateful God heard my prayers for healing that I didn't have a fever when we did get 'fever-checked' and that I really did have a tooth/gum infection. I'm feeling good today, just weary of being here at home. Been a busy day at work too.
Hope you are having a great week!

say it isn't so!
I bought a new thermometer. Hubby 'insisted' I get one. Probably for every time he comes to me and asks "do I feel like I have a fever"? But this time, as I was figuring out how it worked, I tried it on myself, and I had a fever. I've tried a couple more times. I mean, it's only one degree, come on, but still.
I think I know what it is. I have a tooth that is infected (under the crown). And it doesn't hurt, although it is puffy around it. It's not hot. I've put it off because it means about $400 for a new crown. And who wants to pay for a NEW crown? And I may need someone to do a root canal too. Just in case it wasn't done before. It's been 30 years since I had that crown put on, I imagine. I have no idea what was done.
So I called the dentist. Bless their hearts. They have an 8AM in the morning, but I have a 9AM meeting (9-11AM) that I have to take minutes for so must attend. Then there were no openings until June 24th. Too late for my purposes. But they came through for me. They said they will look at the tooth tomorrow at 1PM and see if I need antibotics to break the infection. If it looks like I need a new crown immediately, they will work me in and see what they can do. I expressed my concern about the fever part.
I leave on our Jailbreak Getaway this Friday morning. And although I am pretty confident it isn't COVID 19 because I haven't been anywhere except to my daughter's - AND to the lab last week to get tested for a UTI AND to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription. I mean, I really have NOT been anywhere. Hubby has done all the running around. I am praying it is just that this tooth is infected bad enough to give me a slight fever. I do have some allergies from the crap in the air - so I have a 'cough' a couple times throughout the day because of that. And usually when I think about the allergies. I can still taste and smell food. I don't think I have any other symptoms. It's just this dang fever. 99.7-100.4.
If we go anywhere, most places will be taking temperatures and if you have one, will not allow you in. Of coures there aren't many places that we plan to go, but I want confirmation this is just a tooth infection fever. I mean, it isn't that high - like 99.7 - 100.4, but still. It makes me anxious and I won't be able to go on this trip if I even suspect it could be something else. I could not bear to pass it on to anyone, especially my daughter or pregnant granddaughter! I have one day to get results.
So I'm praying the dentist will say it isn't my imagination, the tooth is infected, and that is what is causing my fever. If it isn't, and he doesn't, then I will cancel my trip and not go. And that would break my heart, but that is what I must do - if it is anything else.
So I'm praying. Is it silly to pray for a tooth infection and not another type? I don't care. I will suffer through the tooth infection. I will pay the $400 for a new crown. I will do whatever it takes to get to go up north for this trip. I need it for my sanity. My well-being.
But I will also do what it takes to make sure my daughter and granddaughter are safe. If I need to stay home, so be it. I'm still tasting and smelling, eating, and - heck, I don't even know what the symptoms of covid 19 are except losing taste and smell. Guess I need to look it up.
Pray for me - that I will break this fever quickly and it's only the infected tooth. Thanks!
Trusting God - He knows best.
Addendum: I checked google for symptoms. It mentioned chilling and I was so cold yesterday - but it wasn't a sick chill - if you know what I mean. I am sitting under a vent in this room, in the middle. With shorts and t-shirt and flip-flops - well, people who know me, know that I'm always cold. I think I'm good there. I did have headache the other day - but again, I contribute that to this crazy tooth infection.
Taking my green leaf extract and elderberry syrup 'just in case'! Need it to clear this infection up anyway!

Brrrrr - I'm freezing!!
Yes, I am freezing! I don't know what hubby has the air conditioner set on, but my room is the coldest in this house and I'm sitting here with shorts and flip flops and short sleeved shirt - and I'm freezing. I have my big blanket wrapped around my legs and my prayer shawl around my shoulders. And I'm still cold every time that thing comes on. I really do not like air conditioning. If it was 80 in here I would be happy.
Hah! A couple hours later and the thermostat/air conditioner is turene to where it will be warmer in here. I put on jeans and socks. It just may help a bit.
It seems to take me longer and longer to get these blogs written. Work keeps interrupting me. Hubby keeps interrupting me. Sheeba keeps interrupting me. Imagine all that! But - hubby has gone to Costco; Sheeba is in her 'cave' and well, work is still interrupting me for awhile yet. But I have hopes of finishing this today.
The inspector will be here at 8AM on Thursday - which means I will be going to my daughter's to work out of her office for the day. She said I could even use the desk that I want. Which is the antique secretary desk. It works for me as long as the lid is up. I'm taking my monitor and my laptop - I like two screens and I'm spoiled.
Just thinking, I don't have anything to say right now.
My middle child called me yesterday. The one who reads this blog. He seemed to say he didn't want us to move - that he liked us close by. But then, we rarely saw them. No fault of their own any more than it is ours. We just haven't invited. Come Thanksgiving and Christmas - that's when we have everyone over. It will be interesting how it works this year.
Having pizza together is just as much fun here at the house as it is going somewhere to eat - just saying. :-)
UGH so many meetings!
So looking forward to selling this houes and starting over. Just wish hubby would allow me to make it mine. That's why I don't care one way or the other about this place. He wouldn't let me add my touch.... why do I think moving will make a difference, I don't know.
One good thing about moving, a better chance that I can retire in a couple years. or less. Whether he likes it or not.
Here I cannot - the expenses are too high. Oh well, will figure it out at some point.
Gotta go!
Blessings!

It's Monday. Again.
I went to bed early last night; around 8:30PM I think. Hubby said he stayed up and read until after 10PM. I was tired, physically and mentally, although I really hadn't done anything for two days. Seriously. I tend to back off doing anything Saturday and Sunday just cause I don't want to do anything. All week long I have to sit at the card table, trying to get office work done. It's a lot of mental work, trying to schedule meetings and type minutes and things like that. Plus it really isn't something I enjoy a lot. I mean, it's ok, and it's a job and pays the bills, but I would love to have more freedom in doing what I enjoy doing. What that is, I have no idea. My life was taken from me a long time ago so I don't have a clue what I would want to do.
Baking cookies and crocheting come to mind. Playing with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those are things that bring me joy.
Nevertheless, today is Monday and it's back to work stuff. I get online this morning to about 17 emails - and most were from my 'big' boss - giving me things to do, meetings to schedule, etc. My head hurts. I want to run away and be by myself. I just need space. 24x7 at home is driving me crazy. I rarely get out, and most often when I do, hubby has to take me.
But I do have something to look forward to. This Friday I am officially on PTO until Tuesday morning. YEP! My daughter, granddaughter, and I are heading north for 4 days and 3 nights. Jailbreak Getaway 2020. Most of the time we will stay in the hotel room and crochet or knit, and enjoy it. Our room, a queen suite, has a balcony. Price right now isn't bad at all. $140/night and we each pay for a night. We don't eat out that much and in fact can't eat out that much right now. But we will have snacks to munch on and there is a 'restaurant' in the hotel. Unfortunately I don't think our breakfasts are provided like other hotels, but that's ok. It's going to be good to just getaway.
UGH. Hubby is making phone calls this morning to get prices for alarm systems and I'm not sure what else. I understand it needs to be done, but can he not just wait until we move? It's a real distraction for even with shutting one of the doors he is loud and he has his phone on speaker.
My daughter-in-law posted a photo the other day of a rope that is attached together with about one string. I'm not aware of what they are going through, but I do know my rope is taunt and ready to snap. In fact, hubby and I had a couple tiffs yesterday morning. It's all about his control. For some reason he thinks I am here for him to control. I have to set up the computer for the church services when he decides I need to do so. (I got up and left on one and finished watching in my room. Ok, total honesty, I fell asleep in my chair while I was watching the service. Woke up before he came into the room) He drains me.
With this talking going on in the other room I can barely think so guess I will hush. I need to get back to work and get things done. Lots to do this week before I leave. And I can't wait.
I miss going to church - although yesterday I wasn't in a good mood with things happening here. On those days some would say I need to go to church, and that's probably true. But when I'm in a bad mood, your best bet is leaving me alone to process and work it out myself.

Life is painful at times.
I think each of us go through events that grieve, or hurt us. It could be anything. It could be just life. Sometimes you just don't know what to say, or what to do. And all you can do is pray.
That's where I am today. I may elaborate in another blog, but for this one, at this time, suffice it to say that life can be very painful at times.
Hubby received word yesterday from his oldest daughter that his ex-wife passed away in her sleep. His emotions have been interesting. He was close to tears as he spoke of her, and yet, he was so furiously angry at her a couple weeks ago as he shredded old letters and court papers from 35 years ago. I could tell him I understood his emotion of grief.
But it is interesting to watch him as he processes this. He has always said he hated her so much - but it was only his hurt at her rejection of him that he hated.
When my 'first husband' (I rarely call him an 'ex' but prefer tfirst husband) died many years ago, I had already remarried and we had moved here. When I got the word, I left to go to the store and as we didn't have cell phones then, I went to a pay phone and called my mother and cried and cried. Because I couldn't cry at home for then it would be known how much I still loved him. And I was grieving over his loss. And I still grieve on occasion.
I probably shouldn't tell this, but I often still write him notes as to what is going on with our children and grandchildren. And that he is missed.
I know all that happened was in God's plan for us. Or rather, what we messed up, He brought good out of it. I was so naive about life. Still am in a lot of respects. I take things as face value and move on. I try to be positive - even when family that I love hurt me deeply by their behavior or by their words. Even the in-laws. and grandchildren.
I truly believe that God has my life planned out... and when it goes amiss is when I insist on doing it my way. He is ever faithful, that when I screw my life up in different things, different areas, He helps me get through that and get refocused on Him. I have to be focused on Him or I would have taken my life years ago. Yes, I said that. Never attempted it, but have thought it. When my heart has been broken so badly, and I'm not allowed to grieve or be able to reach out, I sometimes feel there is no way out. Enough said.
Lots of things going on in my life right now, going on in family. We're moving by the end of this month and I have emotions all over the place about that as well. What am I going to do with all this 'stuff'?!! I would love to give to family. We went back over to the house the other day. Hubby has finally agreed with me that the desk and credenza will NOT be going to the new houes. He likes the desk/bookcase, etc. that is already there. He will probably take my new desk so that he won't have his back to the center of the room. Oh well. In the meantime, we will have to get rid of this huge monstrosity that he is currently using.
I guess this is long enough .... need to stop rambling.... I want you to know that no matter what you are going through, no matter what you are doing, our Heavenly Father is walking with you. Lean into Him and He will guide your path. Even when you veer off, He will pull you back. Hang on.
Blessings!

Just Plain Tired
Do you ever get to the point where you are just plain tired? I think that is where I am this morning - or rather, afternoon. It may be moreso because I haven't eaten the right foods lately. Yeah, I bought myself some butter pecan ice cream from Schwans.... and I've eaten 1/2 way through the half gallon. And we just got it on Thursday. It is so good and creamy.
And then for lunch today.....because I had to get some labs done at Sonora Quest and ended up at 38th Avenue & Happy Valley Rd, we stopped at Sonic. Cherry Limeade - right? The left the cherry off mine and hubby's drink! That is just wrong! We got the lime though. :-( But, instead of getting healthy food, we both got a hot dog. It was to be a plain hotdog but hubby read the numbers incorrectly and ordered chili cheese. So we couldn't send it back- it was our error.
And we couldn't throw it away. Sigh. So we ate them. And onion rings. Now I don't normally get onion rings, although they were good. Why did I get them? Because they were out of tater tots! What's up with that? Won't go there for another long while.
I have a hour and a half meeting this afternoon that I am dreading. I don't want to take minutes. I don't even want to do the meeting cause it takes me an hour past my clock out time. But then, I was gone two hours today to go to labs - so an hour for lunch and an hour extra kinda balance itself out. Except now I'm sleepy and I'd love a nap. May have to fix myself some hot tea or coffee to wake up.
Things are stlil moving along on our house. Waiting to hear when the inspection is - we thought it might possibly be today but we haven't heard anything. I've gotten papers on ours and sent over to my daughter to review. Then she calls me to tell me what needs to be done - and I just go 'ok'. What do I know. She wants the best deal for me so I'm letting her find it.
Hubby and I had a disagreement yesterday. I know - shocker. He wants to take this huge bulky room-filling desk with us.
I don't like it, and asked that he leave it - or better yet -take to savers. Oh absolutely not - it was going with us!
I just looked at him and asked'why'? He doesn't work at a JOB - but he informed me that he studies on that desk and he sends letters from that desk. Whatever. In the meantime, here I sit in my room doing WORK on a card table. Whatever. I'll get a desk after we move and I decide where I will be. Will figure out something.
Some positive things.... we watched Jentezen Franklin's message yesterday and it was amazing! I mean I felt like the Holy Spirit was in our house - it was one of those mornings that you knew you were in God's Presence. I love those times.
And we are in such trying times right now. Trying to recover from the coronavirus and get back to work - and I've been told it will be August 1 before we are back in the office - if then. But these riots over this man being killed. You see so many conflicting things. I saw a post yestterday that showed the same photo with other people, in FRANCE no less. Same day, a different time of day. The attitude of the police officer who did this.... and why was the license plate "police'? I've never seen a license plate 'police'. The pictures and videos don't ring true - and yet, everyone says they are.
And these riots. I understand people wanting to protest brutal killing. But to tear down and destroy, to burn, to do the things being done - is just wrong. Absolutely wrong. I don't mind a peaceful protest. Have at it. But, please, don't destroy people's livlihood. Business destroyed, so employees lose out. What are they thinking? It's so terrible.
My personal opinion? There is a political agenda here - they can't impeach Trump, the coronavirus they brought in hasn't worked but to kill others. They have no concern for people. They are here to kill and destroy people and country. How I wish their eyes would be opened at the judgement that will come upon them when they stand before Jesus! These people are crazy! How do bricks and things to throw 'suddenly appear' on the corners of the streets that are going to be used for protesting - unless an evil person is putting them there, knowing they could hurt someone. And it's because they have no control over Trump.
It's evil. I pray for our country. I'm not putting one political party above another. Who I vote for is my business. But what is going on is evil. They didn't get someone in there who hates our country and wants to control it like a dictatorship. They got a common man who loves America and wants her to be a Leader in this world. God, please help Trump to make the right decisions. Bring leaders of both parties around him that will support him as President and will stand behind things that are good for our country. Shield and protect the Trump family. Help them to remain strong. Draw them close to You, that they will know their dependence is upon You and You alone.
Stop the riots and protests, o God. Let those who murdered be held accountable for their actions. Let those who watched be held accountable for theirs. Merciful Father, please be with us. Help us. Turn Your eye to this land and rescue us from evil.
God bless America.
