so does that mean I really slept in? Sigh. Saturdays I TRY to sleep in a little later, but it is still only 4:30 or 5:00 before I finally give up going back to sleep and getting up. Wait - I think last weekend I actually slept until 5:30AM! I must have stayed up a lot later. Yeah, that's one reason I still wake up early - I still go to bed at 8:30-9:00 unless we are watching a movie and it goes later. I get up at 4AM and after working, I'm usually tired. But weekends are for sleeping later, right?
I can remember when.... it was the thing to sleep in until noon. And most of the time we were allowed to. I remember after I married and we moved to California still sleeping in late - and it was one late morning that I was awakened by the bed shaking.... and everything else around me! That is the strangest feeling and nothing you can do about it! Of course, in my defense, I also stayed up until 11-12AM every night too. Got the sleep I needed during the week, and caught up on it over the weekend.
Still, I always thought that once you reach a certain age that your body is so attuned to getting up early that you will automatically wake up even if you don't want to. Oh wait, that is what happens. I still get between 6-7 hours of sleep and no matter when I go to bed, I will wake up about 6 hours later. But the best part is that on the weekends I can take a nap if I want to! Last night I was so weary that after I went into the front room and sat on the couch, I pulled up my blanket and closed my eyes for about ten minutes. When I awoke and saw it was only ten minutes, I thought that felt so good, I wanted more, so closed my eyes for another 20!
I haven't set the alarm on a clock since I started working from home. I did determine then that I needed to continue getting up early so that when we went back to the office it wouldn't mess me up too bad. Ok, I did set the alarm on my fitbit, but I didn't always feel the buzz to wake me up. The buzz on my arm. I think I truly expected to be home only about two weeks - not 9 months! If I had known we were going to be home that long, I would have planned things better. My company is still holding on to us going back in to the office in January. Now I don't want to - well, I do, but I don't. And I've already shared my feelings on that so won't go there.
If you haven't already figured it out, nothing has come to me to share this morning. My youngest son checked on me last night and told me he loved me. His actual words were 'even though you aren't checking on me, I am checking on you because I still love you.' Of course I still love my son. And I don't hate his wife. For me, she is toxic and I feel I can't have her around me. I do not know why he stays with her.... but that is not any of my business. When he's had enough, he will choose to turn his life around. I only pray it is before he loses his life. If he is so sad that he drinks way more than he should daily... that should be a sign he is unhappy, right?
But it is always easier to point fingers at other people than it is to point them at yourself. My life is not what I had dreamed it would be, how my latter years would end up. My sister once told me I was a horrible mother because I did not leave... and the reason? He was too strict, too controlling. (coming from the one who likes to control. LOL). Of course she denies ever saying that, but as you know, when some things are said, you just don't forget.
It's Saturday and I'm hoping to get some things unpacked. My boxes are slowly getting emptied. I did three boxes last week and am hoping to get another 2-3 or more done today. Still need to work on those excel charts. Yeah, didn't do it yesterday. Just couldn't get my mind wrapped around it. I do now need to work on them this weekend. DUH I should have applied myself over the week!
I've already started wrapping Christmas gifts - can you believe it? I order a few things every few days and when they come in, am trying to get them wrapped. AND I am writing things down because I must cut back on spending this year. Yes, I'm probably spending more using Amazon for 99.9% of things, but I'm not going out much right now. Especially on weekends. Perhaps I'll take a day off in a couple weeks and hit a few stores during the day. If it is crowded - or more crowded than I want to be in - I can always leave and go somewhere else. For some people I just don't have a clue what to buy them. But I'm cutting back anyway so a gift card may be what they get - although I hate to give those.
But the grandsons are difficult to buy for cause I'm not around them that much - any of them. Oh well, I'll figure it out. At least I'm writing things down so when I have a couple things I can stop.
I hear Sheeba walking around, trying to find me. She doesn't like it when she finds this door shut. I reckon I need to get up and figure out what I'm doing to start the day. Shower probably. Hubby didn't get up until after 6 so he let her out of the crate and took her out - thank goodness.
Ok - I'm off here! Nothing to share today.... just rambling.
Have a great day!
