Thank you, Lord, It's Friday and I survived!

Well, I did have my doubts a couple times with my neck hurting so badly, but yeah, I have made it to Friday - and not only FRIDAY, but Friday AFTERNOON.  Less than 30 minutes and I'm off the clock (yes, I'm still working but I only take 20 minute lunch and no breaks - or seldom a break - and start before 7AM.... I don't think they want me to actually clock in and out - they'd have to pay me more.  It happened at the office cause I often ate my lunch at my desk and kept working - or stayed late.  Same here - I just don't have the two hour drive home.

Speaking of a long drive home, Monday is going to be totally worthless.  Well, most of the morning, anyway.  I have to drive down to the office (56 miles away one way now) because they let someone "go" today and they are turning in their equipment.  I have to go and receive it.  So that means from about 6:30AM - 8AM I will probably be on the road - just a guess - just to get there.  Get the equipment and lock it up, and head back home.  Depending on the traffic, it could be very interesting how long it will take me to get home.

The positive of this entire situation is that I can also take a box and grab a bunch of my personal things to bring home.  Latest word from the higher ups is that no one is to go back to the office until January 2021.  Those that are remote and it is working out for their bosses as far as productivity, can remain remote for now, but need to go into the office and remove their personal items.  Which is what I will be doing.  I may as well clean everything up.  I can put what I can't take with me in my boss's office and then when she goes in to clean out her office so she can stay at home, I can perhaps go down and have lunch.  It's just I'm so far away now it makes it more difficult than it did before.  But will see how timewise it will be going down on Monday morning.  Coming home I am pretty sure it will take less time - but then, I don't know for sure.  I guess I'll find out.

Got my free oil change and car wash done this morning at the place where I bought my car in February.  I had to laugh.  Seriously.  I've driven less than 3000 miles since I got it in February - and only because I drove my car up to Prescott on Jailbreak this year.  Haven't really gone anywhere since then.  And I'm so ready.

Hubby has made us reservations to get out of town next month for a few days to celebrate our 38th anniversary.  I'm really looking forward to just getting away from the computer and work for a few days.  We have nothing special planned; we have been up in that area numerous times over the years but it is quiet and no TV or internet so it's reading, knitting/crocheting, or walking.  And I'm so ready to not have a TV on.  sigh.

Promise Keepers is having a virtual event tonight and tomorrow so hubby is signed up for it.  I am hoping he will enjoy it.  He said tonight will be a lot of worship so I may listen in - but tomorrow I will be going to see my Army son get his Captain pin put on.  Hope he can fit into his uniform to get it.  HAH!  He has put on a little weight lately.  Proud of my little boy for his accomplishment.  Now if he can just stop the other crap....  sigh.

My neck has done better today - I've resisted taking any pain pills and it has only hurt a little bit.  I did a lot of stretching this morning so hope that helped.  It's starting to hurt now so guess it's from sitting in front of the computer all day?  Probably not - can't use that excuse I've sat here longer before.  My sister told me to order a tens unit and that would help.  Guess I will go online and check it out.

Meeting up with a dear friend tomorrow afternoon  - she is unfortunately getting a divorce and has a lot of baby stuff she is selling - was able to get some of it for the little one that is due in November.  Now to find someone who is having a boy because just to help her out, I told her I'd buy her boy baby clothes too - many of them brand new.  If I can't find someone to take them, then I'll just donate them to the Choices Pregnancy Center as they will let those who need them have them.  That sounds like a good idea too.

Ok - I'm off here - so glad the weekend is here and am sure you are too.

Have a great weekend!

Is it ONLY Thursday?

I guess it wouldn't be so bad if the pain would just subside in my neck.  I don't know how many pills I took yesterday - but I did sleep good last night - and when I woke up, again, no pain.  But within a half hour of getting up the pain is full force again.  Could it be a pinched nerve?  From what?  I don't know!  I was fine until Monday morning.

I had a 'virtual' appointment last night with a new doctor.  Actually, she is a PA.  But I don't care.  I need to get a prescription refilled and the only way I could do that was get an "appointment".  So she called me and we chatted.  It's a maintenance drug so it has to go to the company pharmacy in Chandler and they will mail it out.  I think I will call them today to make sure they got it so they can get it in the mail.  I run out on Sunday.  A few days without isn't a big deal, I don't think.

I did kinda like this PA cause she has ordered a full metabolic screening cause she needs an update on my blood work - it's been a year - and it's about time for my physical again.  I asked her how we were going to do that!  I take my own blood pressure (if I can find where I put the equipment!!) and temperature.  At least I can go to the lab and get the blood work done and she will have it and can make decisions from that.  It should be ok.  I don't like having an appointment with the doctor and then get blood work done and have to either wait for a phone call or go back again for another appointment just for the test results.

I did a Life Line Screening recently and got the results back the other day.  Overall I'm healthy, but there were a couple things they suggested I have the doctor check out.  I'll send my new PA the paperwork they sent me and let her make that decision.  I haven't gotten the mammogram yet that I need to get done.  When I found out last year that the doctor I had selected was leaving that practice, I didn't want to have a stranger looking at my stuff and giving me what they think.  So I didn't do it.  I don't even know where that prescription is now.  Buried in a box somewhere marked "Mom's office".

Dang fly is annoying me in here this morning!  Going to find that fly swatter - I know approximately where it is in the garage!    Got him!

I read an interesting devotional this morning by Chuck Swindoll.  It was titled 'Take Time".  In the devotion, it talked about how much our children need us to 'take time' to mentor them, lead them, show them how to live.  So many children nowadays are left without fathers, without mothers, who have walked away and left them to their own devices.  Filled with hurt and uncertainty, children don't know what to think or how to act in certain situations.  We have failed these children.

What can we do for our own children?  Mine are grown, and I doubt seriously if they want any advice from mom, but what about their children?  What about the children they are producing?  Do they know how to mentor their children, help them lead productive lives?

With all the riots and protests today, my mind questions if their parents would be proud of them and their behavior?  Some probably don't even care.  But - if these people had been taught how to live a productive life, would all this craziness still be happening?

We are definitely in the end times and it is really scary.  I won't live to see it, I'm sure, but my great-grandchildren might - and that scares me for them.  We need to take time to teach them right from wrong.  Teach them to love God and how to live according to His Word.  And the best way we can do that is by example.

Ponder that one.

Hump day - it is Wednesday!

Hubby had breakfast with a friend this morning so was gone about 3 hours.  Dare I wipe the smile off my face?  May as well, he's back home and asking the usual questions - 'do you have any meetings today?' 'have you gotten your minutes done yet?' have you found a day yet for that all day meeting?'  GADS - I hate all the questions!  I did get frustrated with the questions yesterday and looked at him and said 'If you are missing working that much - why don't you go find yourself a job?"  It went right over his head.

And this is one of the reasons my neck and shoulders hurt.  They were bothering me bad yesterday afternoon - even though I had taken numerous things for it.  When it gets to where it can send chills down my arms and body, that's when the pain gets irritating.  And that was where I was at last night.  Instead of my daughter's last night for knitting, we had a treat and got to go to the granddaughters' for dinner and knitting.  She made spaghetti and it was so good.  I ate two helpings, in fact.  My daughter had brought blackberry cobbler - my favorite - and we had it and ice cream for dessert.  It didn't take much of that to give me skin crawl - you know when you have had too much sugar and it is letting you know you have?  Yeah, I managed to eat it all, but oh my, did I have crawling skin!

I came home and took a couple more pills and when I awoke this morning it was heaven - no pain in my neck and shoulders.  Until I got up and started working.  I've even put oil in my navel.  That's a story for another day!  I have an ice pack on my neck, taken more pills, done stretching exercises, and put oil on my neck and it is still very painful.   Do you think if I take a couple pills, then go take a nap it will go away like it did last night?  I'm tempted to try it!  But then will have to get up.  sigh.

Got the first batch of letters out for the meeting and responses from two.  I have to work on another letter as well but need to find that email first.  And I have two sets of meetings to type up. And I need to work on the all day meeting - I did find a day in August but only from 10-4 and would have to move two of the big boss' meetings.  I have to check with her - she will probably say to move them.  I hate it cause my other boss is back east on vacation at that time - but I have no choice and she will have to choice but to spend the day on the computer.

Sigh.  It's 10am and hubby just got home as I mentioned above.  Our granddaughter sent spaghetti and salad home with me last night for him.  She sent a lot.  So he was just standing here asking me if I want us to split it for lunch or save it for dinner.  I just looked at him.  It's like (but I didn't voice it), you just got back from a big breakfast with your friend, and you are already asking about splitting spaghetti for lunch or dinner?  I just told him it's only 10AM, I don't even want to think about it right now.  I think I will bump it to dinner though - then I don't have to cook.  He won't be that hungry for lunch (well, maybe), and if so, can fix himself a sandwich.

Been sitting here with the ice pack on my neck for awhile - and had no interruptions - and I think the pain is subsiding.  Crossing fingers it will last.  Of course when I get the next siege of interruptions it could make a change.  Saying prayers it will not come back.

I've decided I'm going to start drinking a lot more water.... I've gotten lazy in my water intake and well, it don't help with the body composition.  So, I'm going to make a point to drink at minimum 64 ounces of water a day - (for those of you who drink the big 32 oz sodas - it's two of those in water) - and I want to go to 96 or even 128 ounces.  I say that, and today I have only had 48 thus far.  Need to go fill my cup up again.  I'll be making a path down the hall frequently too, for sure.

Ok - I need to get back to work - break over.  Got lots to get done today.

Oh - quick question for you to ponder - If you wanted to do something for someone - would today be the day?  Or would you put it off - again?

Blessings!

How did I get involved in this profession?

Not that I don't like it - most days, anyway.  It has a lot of positive benefits.   I love the people I support, I enjoy working with them and life is good.  But I do.not.like.to.take.minutes.    I know, I've said that before.  sigh.

Had a 1.5 hour meeting at the end of the day yesterday and had to take minutes; had a two hour meeting this morning at which I had to take minutes.  AND I was told to schedule an ALL DAY meeting next month and I have to attend it and yep, take minutes.  UGH.

Then one of the doctors sends me an email and asks if I can schedule a series of meetings for him.  (Sure, of course I can) and I'm praying he doesn't ask me to attend and take minutes.  UGH.  I don't support him, but for some reason he is asking me to set these up.   And of course I will do what I can.  I did send him a note back and said I would help however I could - HOWEVER, he will need to COMMUNICATE with me on what exactly he wants.

And - it is a good thing, and yet a bad thing - they are all remote/Teams meetings.  Which means everyone calls in and you can see each other if you select the right icon.  Sometimes that is fun cause you get to 'see' people you haven't seen in awhile.  Most times after the meeting starts I turn off my camera cause I don't want nobody seeing me!  I like to be quiet and in the corner.  Don't remember I'm there.

Tonight is girls' night out and I'm hoping we will still meet.  We have been meeting at my daughter's house since we don't meet at a restaurant now.  At least there we don't have to wear a mask.  We do sit a few feet apart but that is just the way the furniture is.  It feels good to get out of the house by myself once in a while.  It doesn't happen often.  Of course i don't have any place I need to go either.

I got my deep massage last night and oh my it was painful at times, but I knew my neck and upper back were really tense.  It felt good, yet tender, last night but today I have the familiar neck and upper shoulder pain.  I am sure part of it is the muscles that were massaged last night, and the tenseness back in my neck and shoulders from having to take minutes this morning and all the additional tasks that I have been assigned today.  I've taken several aspirin over the past 5 hours, hoping the pain will go away, plus putting an ice pack on my neck for the inflammation - and now I have smelly oil on my neck and shoulders trying to release the tension.  I probably need to go sit in the sun cause sometimes that relaxes me too.  I need relief, for sure.  Maybe that is why I've had such difficulty this morning getting minutes done - I'm antsy because of the pain.  I go back in two weeks for a 90 minute massage on my back and neck.  If that don't do it...   I have to get it done... I will never forget when the pain became so intense about 9 years ago it took 3 deep massages within 12 days x 60 minutes each to break up the muscles that had locked up. I couldn't even turn my head it hurt so bad.  I don't want to go back into that.  So I have a medical prescription from a previous doctor that approved my getting a massage at least one time a month for therapy.....and since I have a prescription, it is tax deductible as a medical expense.

Got our new drivers license the other day.  Went online and changed our address so they mailed us a new license.  Only cost $12 but I sure do need a new photo!  We also got our voter registration changed so got those papers yesterday, voted, and dropped back in the mail.  I always make hubby mad.  It's no one's business who I vote for!  And I don't tell him either.  Not that it is any big deal - but it's no one's business.  That's why it is by ballot.  I don't have to share.  Now most people will know the way I will vote, and hubby really knows as well, but he always has to ask.  And when I refuse, he gets angry.   Oh well.  Isn't the first time - and won't be the last.

Bummer - just got more information on the meetings I was referring to above in the first paragraph.  Gotta cut this short.... need to send out several emails so that I can send the invite for the meeting.   I ought to go sit outside for awhile first - yeah, I think it's time for a break!

Nothing to share today - I'm distracted by work and by my neck and shoulders hurting.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.  Be safe out there!

Monday, Monday, it's that day....

Hubby had a couple hours worth of errands this morning so I had some peace and quiet.  You won't believe this, but Sheeba actually STAYED in the back room and looked out the back door at the people behind us putting up new screens.  Couldn't believe she didn't come back in here and bug me.  She slept, I'm sure, cause I walked back there to check on her a couple times and she hadn't moved.

I chatted with my favorite boss this morning.  Seems she and her hubby had an exchange of words this weekend and she called his bluff.  She was complaining about work (like, who isn't, anymore, with working from home!) and the stress it was putting on her and he told her to quit!  Retire!  and she said she just might do that!   LOL  Of course she won't.  At least not right now.  But it sure started him!  She's only 60.  He, though, has been retired for probably 10 years - just like my hubby.  That's why we get along so well - we compare notes.  Her husband cleans the house and does repairs as needed.  sigh.

I told her that I could definitely understand that emotion that is flying around.  Some days I get so tired of having to sit in front of the computer all day - and trying to find time for specific meetings - and more than anything else, having to take minutes at some meetings.  I don't mind sitting in on the meetings cause I'm nosey.  I like to know what is going on.  But I hate having to pay attention and write down the 'important' stuff cause I have to do minutes.

I also bragged a little that with moving I am in much better position to retire at some point.  At the other house it was not going to be a reality.  There was no way with all the extras hubby put on the house - i.e., landscaper, pool guy, etc. - that I could ever retire.   But living here, my daughter and son-in-law made sure that I would be able to retire - and hopefully within the next year.  Then I begin to weigh my options and retiring and having nothing to do doesn't seem like so much fun.  We still have Sheeba so can't do any long road trips.  Not that we have done that in many years.   I don't mind sitting at home cause I can always read and be happy.  VERY happy, in fact.  I have so many books and I would love to have the peace and quiet and opportunity to read as much as I wanted.

When I was growing up, books were my escape from the reality of life.  Seriously.  I could read an entire book an inch-inch/and a half thick - in one day.  I was exchanging books every day in the library at school.  I could do that too - I worked in the library!

Then there is my knitting and crocheting that I have grown to love.  Sometimes it's hard to decide - crochet or knit - or read!  So I wait until the tv is off before I read and do the other while it's on.  I have baby quilts to make now too for Christmas so that will add to my project list.  I've got my sewing machine packed away still so will continue to do these by hand, more than likely, until I can get some more boxes cleaned out. I sure don't want more stuff in the house cluttering it up.  Since I cut up a lot of my material making masks, I need to get more fabric to make the quilts.  Sounds like a runaway time in the near future.  I want to make four this Christmas so I had best get started!

Upward Foundation is a children's disability foundation that I have donated to in the past - clothes, books, household items, etc.  This morning they called me and I told them that I had moved.  It always starts out with "we will have a truck on your street on …..".  So I told them I was sorry, but we had moved.  "Did we have anything to donate?"  They also come to where we are now.  At first I said no, we didn't have anything, thinking about all the things my son-in-law and grandson have already picked up and taken to Goodwill or Savers and then it was like 'wait, what?'  You come to our new location?  When?  She checked and they will be here on August 7th.  Best part? THEY PICK UP.   We have two boxes setting out in the garage now ready to be picked up.  Calculating ahead, I still have lots of paper boxes to go through, but I'm sure I can get more things and then have more boxes brought from storage..... I might have a nice little stash for them in two weeks.  If not, I still know I will have some.  And it is for a very good cause.  They call me about every six-eight weeks, I think.  I need to move the boxes I have out of the way, I think, but still, they have a home to go to and it isn't something else for my son-in-law and grandson to do.  But they never have complained about doing it either.  In fact, most times they take it and I don't even know it.

I have a massage scheduled tonight at our former Massage Envy.  We really like the people there and the front desk are fun to talk to.  I was looking earlier and we have been members since 2014!  Six years.  And it has been worth it.  Truly it has.  We haven't been going steady the past couple years so both of us have some extras, even though we have also transferred some to other people.  My neck and shoulders started hurting again this morning so I jumped online to see if this guy I used before was available - and he is at 6:45.  I also checked to see who else was available and got hubby to make an appointment for the same time.   We figure we will use up what we have (while still paying for 1 a month cause if you cancel, you lose all those you have already paid for) and then cancel.  But, we really do like going there so I dunno.  It's a drive now from where we are to where it is, about 30-45 minutes maybe, but hey - it gets us out of the house.  After my experience at the last one near here with the front desk, naw, I'll do the drive.

Ok - I've gotten lengthy with this post, but need to get off.  Break is over. Got much to do before another meeting this afternoon I have to sit in on and take minutes.

Have an awesome day!

Sunday blues...

Well, not really blues..... just want to get out of here and do something - but what is there to do?  I'm not a big fan of shopping, although I do need to go to Ross, but hubby kind of has me blocked in the garage.

Just cut out half of page of griping  Sure am trying to get better at that - not doing it, that is.  At least on this blog. :-)

My sister brought her hubby home from the hospital yesterday and he is doing well.  I called her a bit ago and she was out shopping with our niece.  At least someone gets to go out and go shopping.  I could call my daughter, I suppose, to see if she wants to - but I really don't NEED to go shopping.  I could go to Ross and pick up a couple things I want to get, but there isn't anything we need.  I'm still getting rid of a lot of things.

I still have a little bit of butter pecan ice cream - perhaps I should just go get it.  But Sheeba knows when I get in the freezer, SHE has ice cream in there and she wants it.  ALL of it.  I give her about 1/4 cup of vanilla in her dish and she loves it.  I can't have an ice cream cone - I kid you not - she will take the cone - literally - out of my hand and eat it.

DANG!  and here she is!  I heard Sheeba in the other room so I snuck to the freezer to get my ice cream - and come back to find her next to my chair.  She doesn't get any of my butter pecan.  And I have to 'get rid' of it today cause I want to start this new exercise program and diet.  Well, the diet just may start tomorrow.  What I don't eat of this - will get put in the trash.  I'm the only one who likes butter pecan ice cream.  Sheeba likes anything.

No, I still haven't started walking Sheeba yet in the mornings  - and I really should.  It would be good for her and for me.  I've just gotten really lazy for some reason, and I need to get over it.

Guess I don't have anything to share on here today.... I want the TV off.... I want silence!!   I think I'm going to go ahead and get that headset my brother told me about.  It's a little pricey, but he says it blocks all sound.  I may live with it on.  Will have to check in to it more.  I have it saved on my amazon smile.  Just haven't gotten around to buying it yet.

Pastor Jentezen Franklin, before his message today, called for a 21 day fast.  You can fast however you want - a meal, a food, an activity - or do the Daniel Fast - whatever you want to give up.  But the purpose is to pray and ask for God's intervention in the Coronavirus pandemic and with the election coming up in 100 days, we definitely need to pray that the right person wins.  I am afraid, and you should be too, if a certain someone should win.  He should be afraid.  Depending on who he gets for his VP, he could be dead in 3 months and the VP be President.  Just saying.   So I plan on doing that - not sure what I will give up yet but I have a little time to think about it.  The fast will be August 1 through August 21 - yep - over my birthday and our anniversary vacation.  I'm thinking we may do the Daniel Fast because well, I erased what I wrote  but that's ok.]

Cox Cable came out this morning and got the TVs fixed so that we can watch movies.  On the big TV the cords were reversed.  I will need to figure out my VCR, but the DVD is working.  They told us they couldn't hook up our dvd and vcr - only check on the TV. Two minutes later, it was working.  I'm so glad.  Every single night of wheel of fortune and two episodes of Steve Harvey and I'm done.  I've got to get my movies back on so I can keep my sanity!  It reminds me of my parents - sit and watch TV (and mom crocheting!) every.single.night.   When the TV is off, at least i can read some.

Ok - rambled on enough.  Hope that you are having a good Sunday.  Maybe I'll have something good to talk about tomorrow.

Blessings!

Doing the Friday Dance!! Woot!

It's been a fast-paced and busy week with lots of meetings and meetings to schedule - and although I've been scheduling meetings most of the morning, Friday is almost over.  Praise the Lord!  I am so ready to 'chill' tonight and then be ready to hit the boxes again tomorrow morning.  Lord knows we can't go anywhere!

We got a letter from the Rec center here and it said for us to come in and get our photos taken for our new Rec cards.  So I took off work about 10:15AM and we headed over there.  Didn't take long, and they gave us a packet of information (can't wait to go through it) and a photo ID for when there are free concerts (she said they have several usually, but that was all pre-COVID).   We looked at the 'bill board' outside the office as we were leaving and last March George Strait was to have been there!  I love that guy!  There were several others I didn't recognize the name.  And she gave us fobs for our keyrings of our code for the gyms - which we cannot use.  Everything is still on lock-down - except for the swimming pool.  All are outside except one - and that's ok with me.  If I'm getting in the pool, I want sunshine!  The one we walked by on the way to the Rec office only had maybe 6 people around it and it was pretty good size.  I could do that.  Take a nap.  Yeah.  That really sounds good.

Stopped at the youngest son's after so we could drop off a chair that goes to the vanity table the granddaughter took last night.  All that is left is the mirror and it's still at another granddaughter's house so it will depend on where it gets deposited as to when this granddaughter will get it.

From there it was to a Walgreens cause I finally got around to ordering 3 sets of photos of our Jailbreak Getaway so that I can share.  Come to think of it, why am I the one ordering the photos?  LOL  No worries.  Got them for 10 cents each - I always wait until it goes on sale before I order.  I ordered a few more photos too - thinking maybe the three children might want a copy of these photos.  I don't think it would be one they have.  If not, they can pass on to a child or throw away.

And from there it was stopping at Arby's to pick up food for lunch and head home.  I was bad.  I admit it.  I have no idea where my mind went cause I ordered a float (which was gone as I came in the door at home), AND a cherry turnover (which was the first thing I ate), and a chicken pecan sandwich - those things are huge! But I ate half of the sandwich and had to put the rest in the refrigerator.  Think that might be dinner tonight altho my belly is telling me it will NOT want any food tonight.  Maybe I can talk hubby into the chicken leftovers on the bottom shelf.

And now I am ready for a nap.  I haven't slept well the past few nights; not sure why.  We thought maybe we were going to bed too early so we stayed up until almost 10PM last night (I know - shocker!) but again I am awake at midnight and toss and turn until 5-ish when I finally get up cause I didn't want to get up at 4AM as I really want to.   I really do need to get back on a schedule so just will have to force myself to do so.  Poor Sheeba just doesn't get walked anymore and I really do need to get back on that.

As I was reading in my David book this morning I read about how God takes us even when we feel we are nothing - i.e., David was "just a shepherd boy", (not even thought enough of by his father to have him come to the dinner, but stay out with the sheep), God has many plans for us.  I sure wish He would fill me on what I am to be doing. I thought I knew at one time, but my dream got stolen, and now I have this huge void inside.  I'm just waiting on God to fill it again.

Need to get back to work - can you imagine, people are wanting me to do things for them.  Silly people.  It's Friday afternoon.  Who wants to work?

Have a great weekend!

Thursday....closer to the weekend

not that we have anything major planned for the weekend.  Still planning on getting out in the garage to clear out some boxes.  Got rid of a few more dishes I had setting out on the table and now I need to decide what to do with the majority of the rest.  Which do I want to keep; which am I willing to 'donate'.  It's so hard!!

I know what I could think about doing..... I could box them up and set off to the side and see if my church wants them.  I have a lot of glass platters they might be interested in.  Since it's a very small church, if we EVER get back together again, I'm saying we have a party!!  Yeah, I just might do that - and if they DON'T want any of the dishes, then I'll just donate them.

It has clouded up outside - from a hot, balmy, morning to overcast and to where I hear thunder in the background.  Could I use a storm as an excuse to get off the computer for the afternoon?  Would love to do that, but dunno.  Yes, I still have some things to do - BUT - I did get all my minutes completed this week so I have none to do.  That I can remember, anyway!!  I need to check with those I sent to for their approval and see if ok to send out to the rest of the meeting members, but, naw, that can wait until tomorrow.

Tomorrow is a big brother's birthday.  I can't believe he will be 75 anymore than I can believe I will be 71 this year.  It's like graduating from high school.  You don't feel old until you get that 50 year reunion notice.  Until I write down the number, it's like I'm still young.  But when I write it down, I realize I have probably lived over half of my life and my days could be numbered.  Will God let me live to 100?  I have no idea.  But I only want it if I can be healthy and strong, turn 100 and then die in my sleep with no worries for anyone.

That's one of the good things about moving into this house.  I have been able to give away things that I have used or held on to for years.  If I should die today, each of my children have something that was mine.  I've also been able to pass on a few things of my mothers that I've had.  And that's a good thing.  Found a couple more of her doilies - wonder if any would want.    I may just pack them away in a nook somewhere and let them decide another time.  The rest I have is just 'stuff'.  Well, actually, it all is just 'stuff'.

I started a new book to read in my quiet time this morning.  I've read it before, and saw it on the bookcase and decided to do it again.  David - 90 Days With a Heart Like His by Beth Moore.  She actually has another book with a similar title if I could find it, I would read it too.  It really grabs you to where you don't want to stop reading.  Of course it is about David in the Bible.  I love David's heart for God.  Yeah, he screwed up a few times - and I have too.  Lots of times, in fact.  But my heart still belongs to God.  Just like David.  Maybe that's why I like this book so much.  The one I started is a devotional so only a couple pages a day.  That works for me.  Gives me something to think about.

I did finish Double Blessing by Mark Batterson.  It was really good and one of the many things he talks about is giving things away.  It always blesses someone.  I guess that is what I'm doing - in a way - blessing others by giving away my 'stuff'?  I just want my children to have the opportunity to take whatever they want - for the memory it gives them.  Yeah, I'm all about the memories.

HAH!  I just found my water bottle!  I've been missing it a few days and couldn't remember where I left it.  I just noticed the wind wasn't blowing as hard so I went to the window and looked out - and there it is right next to a chair I had been sitting in.  Guess I should go get it before the wind carries it away.  Not that it matters.  I do have a few more water cups.

Ok - back to work - break over.  Life goes on.  Hope you are having a good day.

Blessings!

HumpDay Wednesday!

It's Wednesday already this week!  I'm so grateful I don't have any more BIG meetings this week that I have to attend and do minutes for, but I still do have one set of minutes to type and another report to do.  Not sure how I'm to compile that, but the 'chief's' I work with are to send me their 'stuff' by end of day Friday so that I can compile it for a big meeting on Tuesday.  Oh joy, another meeting I have to attend and take minutes at. Oh well.  All part of the job.

I've calmed down considerably today from the past couple days.  I've let the issue go and it's out of my hands.  That's the process of Let Go and Let God take care of it.  I'm just done with the issue.  And that's a good thing.

Had a good 'girls' night out' last night at my daughters.  Picked up KFC on the way over and it was good to catch up with my daughter and granddaughter on what is going on in their lives.  Sometimes we all get too busy to touch base.   Since I'm working from home - hopefully permanently - I can, I think, begin to plan some things.  I don't have to spend two hours on the road getting home so can possibly plan a dinner occasionally.  I would like that, anyway.

Almost finished with another baby blanket and am not sure what I will start next.  Probably another blanket since I don't know enough to begin another project.  My daughter and granddaughter are all over the place with learning new projects; me, I stick to two standard stitches.  The double stitch and the granny stitch.  I should figure out what I want to do and check out you-tube.  Maybe I just don't want to learn something new.  What's a stitch anyway, but a stitch.

Am supposed to have some people over for dinner tonight, but I've asked twice and neither time have they responded.  The conversation we have stops right when I ask the question.  So, I've quit asking.  I laid out a package of boneless ribs and will grill and put in the oven later this afternoon.  If no one shows up, I may be calling someone to come pick up what we don't eat for dinner.  And if they do show up, well, I reckon they will be done.

I had planned to start my new exercise program this morning.....and as usual, it hasn't happened yet.  Hubby says he has a doctor appt today and then needs to run an errand - if I'm not buried in something maybe I will try to do some exercises then.  I'm so tired of sitting on my butt all day and it is s-p-r-e-a-d-i-m-g.   Don't want to buy bigger clothes (hate to buy clothes anyway) so gotta do something.  I need to get out and walk the dog, for sure - but here I am, not doing it.

I got woke up in the middle of the night by the air conditioner noise.  I guess it is in the hallway above us, and I've noticed it is loud before, but it actually woke me up during the night.  As I laid there thinking I may have to get ear plugs so that I can sleep, a flower arrangement I had pinned to the wall above the bed - fell right in front of my face!  Maybe that is why I was awake.... if it had done that while I was asleep I would have flown out of the bed.  As it was, I knew what fell so I got it and threw it off the side of the bed.  I'll get it back up on the wall this afternoon.

Still so much I want to get busy on - haven't been back in the garage to unpack since Sunday afternoon.  Hubby has finally finished his shredding of boxes of papers I've given him.  And I'm getting a stack of my journals that I've come across.  I may take a break later and go out there and poke around boxes again before getting busy with work.  It's another one of those days.

Blessings!

Tuesday and the ups and downs of life....

Is it only Tuesday?  Yet, last week seemed to fly by.  Perhaps that was because I was so busy last week.  Yesterday was busy, and today will be too, if I get started working.

Hubby had to go get blood drawn for blood tests this morning and emissions check on his car.  As I went in on MVD the other day to get our address changed on our license, (only have 10 days to do it in they say) I discovered his license plates expired the middle of May.  It's one thing that his driver's license expired in April this year, but he couldn't do anything about that.  (and I think that when he changed the address they extended it five years --- heaven help us).  So he is getting the emissions checked today on his car so that he can get his license plates renewed.  Good thing we haven't been driving around a lot.

In fact, we have been staying home quite a bit - even me!  I have no desire to go out shopping (unless it's for yarn, which I have plenty of already) and have to wear a mask.   It's bad enough just going to the grocery store and having to wear it.  I think I will go back to ordering online cause then they do the shopping for me and I all I got to do is open the trunk and then drive back home.  I loved using it before we moved.  I need to see if Fry's out here does it.  I'm sure it does.  Especially for us "older folks".

It's funny about moving out here where the "older generation" is.  The people around us all seem a lot older than I am, and probably hubby too.  He carries his age well so they may be close in age.  I feel so young out here. LOL  Although the reality is - I'm not young anymore.  Young at heart, perhaps.  I don't want to get old mentally.  Body wise I can't help it, but mind wise I can, somewhat.  Too much I want to do, and until life changes, I can never complete and I will die unfulfilled.

So what is it that YOU want to do?   What is something that you perhaps wanted to accomplish when you were younger - have you accomplished it yet?  Did you write that book - or even get started on it?  Did you create that masterpiece that you always thought you wanted to do?

Have you satisfied your life?

I have to stop and think about that question for I must answer no.  I have so much grief and pain inside of me that it has put everything on hold.  But for how long?  When will I create that dress I wanted to sew?  When will I write the stories I wanted told?  When will I cook that magnificent meal that is perfect in every way?

When will I live again?

When will you begin living?

Things to ponder about his morning.   Take a few minutes and just think about those questions.  Where are you in this great life we have?

I spent some time with God this morning, having to confess a lot of anger and disappointment about an issue.  I know that if I didn't give it to Him, I would drag it around with me all day and be a real bear around everyone.  I didn't want that.  My anger has subsided.  My disappointment is...... well, it's still there, but at least I'm not as angry as I had been.  And the odd thing is, the issue wasn't even about ME.  It was about someone I cared about.  But I have chosen to let it go, with God's help.

He can do that for you too.  Trust Him to take care of the problems.  Of any issues.  Yes, I'm still praying my sons will get real sick when they drink too much so that they won't.  And, God has not answered that prayer yet.  Yet, I trust Him to watch over them, convict them, and rescue them.  I have to let them go.  Out of my hands, and into His.

What are you hanging on to that you need to let go of?

Blessings!

Journals.....some found....

Yipes.  As I cleaned out a few boxes yesterday I found some (definitely not all - considering I've been writing in journals for around 30 years or so) and found numerous journals.  I grabbed them and brought to my "office".  I haven't started to go through them yet, or what exactly I am going to do with them, but I plan to skim (definitely not take the time to read) each one and do something with some of the writings.

What could I do?  I'm thinking - and will need my son's help in getting it set up cause I still need to separate blogs - but I'm thinking I may just take one of the blogs and change the name - (perhaps Random Journal Thoughts?) - I could take the Random Thoughts and change the heading - and as I go through the journals could put the date I wrote it and type from it whatever I want to share.  I always would want to share the good stuff.  Then I can shred the journal.  No reason to keep them anymore anyway.

It is already 11:30AM and I have gotten a lot done, but I think it's time for a break.  I've been sitting here since about 7AM-ish, I think - with just a couple breaks.  I have a meeting today from 1-4PM that I have to take minutes at so will not be up out of my chair except for one break.

It's a good thing that I like my job.  I mean, I really do like my job. I love my bosses.  I think occasionally about retiring after the first of the year, but I kinda like the income I have cause it gives me freedom to do what I want to do.  Hubby is realizing that if he doesn't make bills and keeps the bills current, he even has a little extra moola.   This month and next month are nice because we don't have a new house payment or HOA payment yet - I 'suggested' he put it in savings as a back up.  But I don't know.  We have vacation next month from Friday to Tuesday and I'm really looking forward to getting away and not having to jump on the computer to work.

Gasp - I will have to take the new laptop my son-in-law gave me just so that I can keep up on my blog, right?  Not that anyone really cares, but I've finally gotten into the habit of writing something - even silly - in it almost every day.

For now - I need to take a break and find something for lunch and rest my eyes.  I'll be staring at the computer literally all afternoon.

Have a good day!

Yesterday was fun!

I so much enjoyed my boys, my granddaughter, and my nephew over yesterday afternoon.  We sat around the dining room table and talked and ate whatever I could find to fix for lunch.   There was plenty of food and still had some left over - when I sent home with the youngest; rather the nephew, I think, for the youngest didn't eat much.  I think they were all celebrating the spouse was going to be gone for a week.  I sure hope they don't spend it drinking, but do the things they said they were going to do.  My son is so unhappy, I hope he follows through with what he says he is going to do.  I hope that changes his drinking habits too.    My mother always said that she was always afraid to start drinking, because she knew she would be unable to stop.  I think that is where my son is.    He is so unhappy, the only way he can hope to escape the pain of emptiness of relationship is to drink.  I can also relate to that.  Yes, I do have a beer or a glass (or two) of wine occasionally.  Some times I think I could drink the whole bottle, and I really do have to resist.  I completely understand what my son is going through.  I understand what my mother went through.  Life is tough, sometimes.

I had to laugh when my nephew told me that if he had known that spouse was as bad as she is, he would have thought twice about coming out!  In fact, he has already been looking for his own place!  He did take the dishes I had saved back and left in the box, and he took a bowl that my mother had made plus one of the chickens I had gotten from her.  He seemed to be happy about it.

But what really "tickled me pink" what that my oldest son chose two items that I had made years ago (had a date of 10 69 on the back of one) !   I still have several items on that table and I want to check with my daughter again, and the grandchildren to see if they want any.  My youngest did say to just box everything up and he would take them.  I don't think he meant it though.  Basically what no one else wanted, he said he'd take.  He surely didn't mean that.   Or did he?  It would be easy to pass that stuff on  but he doesn't need them either - now or later.

I was able to give away some of the things, but I know I still have a lot of more that is still in storage.  I have got to get back in the garage today - never made it yesterday.  After everyone left, we headed to the store to pick up a few things and then I was too lazy to go out into the garage.  The plan is to do it this afternoon.

We've already watched Pastor Jentezen Franklin this morning, and I've listened to a pastor we know at one of the RV parks we speak at (a friend sends it every week but I've never listened to it until today) and we have our church yet to go in about 40 minutes.  After that I guess that I will figure out lunch and then head out to the garage.  Found two boxes of old tax papers from the 80's and 90's so I'm guessing that it is safe to have those shredded now.  That will be hubby's job.  I'm doing the manual labor and he can do the 'sit down admin job'.  LOL

Today is Sunday and I love watching and listening to Pastor Jentezen Franklin.  Today's message was on the breaking brings the blessing.  Isn't that the truth!  He used the example of the breaking of the 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish for the 5000 men  - not counting w omen and children - and not only did Jesus bless the bread and fish so that it would feed the 5000 men, he blessed it so that it would also feed the women and children, AND still had 12 baskets full of bread and fish left over!   He broke it - so that He could bless it.

Think about it - if you are going through a hard time, financially, emotionally, physically, when we give God what we have, He will take it and bless it.  It may break us for awhile, but when we give it to Him, He will bring good from it.  I've seen that work so many times in my own life.  We've struggled financially many many times.  And as I have cried out to the Lord in my own personal struggles, He answers.  Not always in my own timing, but He orchestrates things so that He can bless me when He is ready to. Sometimes we have to get rid of the old, leave the old, to get the new.

I'm ready for new, aren't you?

Blessings!

It's Saturday and I'm excited.....

I rarely get to see my boys and today I get to.  The youngest one's wife and step-son have left for a trip so he checked in with me this morning.  I suggested he stop by and see what all has been done here at our new home - he hasn't seen it since 'moving day'.   So we agreed for him, his daughter, and my nephew stop by around 11am.  Told him if he would stop and buy drinks cause we were out of ice (Dr Pepper for hubby of course), I'd fix chicken tenders and french fries for lunch.  Sounds like a plan, right?  And cheaper than going out to eat.

Well, then my oldest son checks in and says 'I heard the youngest son was coming over around 11 to have lunch with you.  Mind if I drop in too?'  Of course he could come too!  LOL  I'm cracking up by this time.  He says he doesn't want any lunch but would stop by.  No problem.

Except now I go to my freezer to see how much chicken strips I have.  Uh.... like 1/2 a bag.  I had bought several from schwans last month... but we like them too, so I guess that we used up what we had.  (note to self - contact schwans for delivery).   I do have an unopened bag of french fries.  Where did all my tater tots go!  Guess we like them a lot too cause they are so easy to put in the air fryer and fix.   Now what?

LOL  No problem.  I had a bag of meatballs so have those now in the crockpot.  No grape jelly so soaked them in BBQ sauce.   I can fix what I have of the strips, I also have a couple breaded chicken fillets I can add to it, and of course french fries.  No worries.  I need to clean out my  freezer anyway.

Besides, they are coming to see the house and me / us - so it's not about the food, right?  I also bought a veggie tray yesterday so that will help.  Yeah, finally made a run to Costco.  What a disappointment.  So much of the things that were easy to find, were no longer available.  For example, I wanted to get the mini bagels - none were to be found.  So, later today or tomorrow will make a run to Fry's cause we only need one gallon of milk, not two, and there were a few other things that I wanted to get that we don't two or more of.

I finally put some stickies on the wall where I want some pictures hung up.  Still need to bring in the senior pictures of my children plus the grandchildren and get them hung up too.  I finally found that box and it's still in the garage.  My big table is still laden down with dishes.  It's been so very hard, but I have made the decision pretty much that whoever wants them can have them.  The rest can go into the Goodwill box, which I've already started this morning.  My plan is to work in the garage this afternoon after the boys leave.  Don't want to get hot and smelly before.  I have to continuously ask myself - why are you keeping this  - you have 1) never used it and you've had it for years or 2) you used it way back when and you are hanging onto it because.....  sigh.  I love my dishes, but I definitely can't take them with me when I die so if I'm not using them, and someone else can, I need to let them go.

I'm hoping my nephew will be interested in some things I've been putting aside for when he gets his own apartment.  I think it is still a couple months down the road, but even so, he needs to start planning ahead.  I have a George Foreman grill that I no longer need cause my sister sent me a smokeless grill.  I don't need two.  I did use it a lot before though.  Especially when I am cooking ribs.  I also have a toaster oven that I have had for probably 35 years and probably haven't used but once that entire time.  It was a Christmas gift from hubby a few years after we were married, and of course I haven't been able to get rid of it.  Now's my chance.   I also have a set of dishes that I can give to my nephew and glasses.  I sure hope that he will say he will take them.  Better yet, I'd like it a lot of my youngest son would say he could store them.  But that in itself is no big deal as I have plenty of storage space.

Well, I've rambled on enough so will hush.  I hope my daughter, grandson, and son-in-law take a rest day - they sure have been working hard helping us get things done on our place.  I am so very grateful for all they have done.  (don't tell them I put up some flowers and stuff on the wall 'all by myself'.  I just wanted to do it.... hubby hasn't even noticed.  LOL)  Do you know how hard it is to push a nail into the wall without a hammer?  I didn't want hubby to come in and demand to do it.  I wanted to do it 'all by myself'.  and I did. :-)  I am a happy camper.

Slept a little later than usual this morning and when I got up it was nice to take Sheeba out on the front patio and just sit outside and drink my coffee and read.  I really do need to get to walking her again.  God has given us another beautiful day.

Blessings!

Finally Friday....

This week seems to have gone by faster than usual. Maybe it is because I have been so busy that I have noticed it has gone by faster. I've had several meetings this week and minutes to type, and trying to unpack and everything else - it just seems to have moved faster. Here it is Friday again and my calendar doesn't look too bad today. I still have one set of minutes left to type today but I'm not worried about it for today.

Come Monday I have a 4 hour meeting I have to take minutes at so that will be a stressful time. But I'm getting better at taking the minutes as we do the meeting and even surprised one of my bosses the other day when I sat in on the meeting and immediately after, sent her the minutes and asked her to approve before I sent out. I got to get better at doing that as it will take a lot of stress and pressure off of me. Sitting through a 2-4 hour meeting and taking notes - and then trying to put them into our meeting minute form takes another 2-4 hours or more with interruptions. If I can listen closely and put them in while they are talking, then I'm done. Gonna try that routine, anyway.

Hubby has a dental appointment today to get a new crown. The office where we have always gone flooded not long ago so they are at another office that is much, much closer. Think 35th Avenue to 83rd Avenue. Yeah, a bit closer. Which means he won't be gone but about an hour and a half. How much can I goof off? :-) Naw, I still have work I need to do.

I'm still reading during my quiet time each morning a chapter or so in the book Double Blessings by Mark Batterson. Today was really good, and he talked about how we get double blessings when we bless others. Of course he also did talk about tithing and challenged us to double our tithe (if we can), and see what God will do with it. He also talked about paying it forward with blessings. LOL I've done that before, and it wasn't well received. Of course they didn't know I did it, which was kind of funny in one way. I'm still glad I did it although they couldn't understand it. It doesn't matter, I was blessed because I could. Maybe thta is part of the double blessing.

Just had a nice surprise - the SIL and GS are here already to get some more things done. They have already hung a mirror and a picture up and painting on the doors now. Then they will finish landscaping in the court area. I am so grateful for their help cause it sure wouldn't get done otherwise. I jsut give them full rein of the house and let them do whatever they think needs to be done. Sheeba loves them coming over and gets so excited, we have to crate her because she is so big she starts knocking things over! Maybe they are early cause it's Friday and they just want to get it done! They keep telling me to go around and hang up stickies so that they know what needs to be done - but I just haven't gottentto that yet. They seem to be way ahead of me on getting things done.

Found some of my old journals in one of the boxes yesterday. My plan right now is to slowly read through them, and then type in Word some of the things I want to remember. So much of my writings are just ramblings - I probably write more in here than I do in some of those - at least that makes sense. It's either do it that way - or trash them all. I would never want to hurt anyone by things I said, in my own hurt and frustration at them. Nor would I want them to ever think I didn't love them enough to 'get over it'. It's just where I was at that time. I want to leave a love legacy, not one marred by comments that come from my own hurt, my own anger, or my own frustration. There is too much of that in this world. I want them to know how much each one is loved, not that I was hurt by them.

Just like God forgives me all MY sins - which have been - and are - many. I'm so grateful He will forgive me for everything cause there are some times that I have been, and am, such a mess. I've felt rejection, and feel it now, so I know how He feels when we do things our way. We are rejecting Him. It's so much easier to come back to a conversation with God and just tell Him how I feel, what's going on, and although I may not do it right, I ask that He walk me through my decision. After all, His Word says He will bring good out of even the bad stuff. (Romans 8:28 - my interpretation).

Hope you have a good day - and a great weekend!

Blessings!t

Day by Day....

Things are slowly getting done - the part I'm to do, anyway. I was actually able to get to the garage last night after working and clean out one box. I should have pushed to do another one or two, but I needed to stop to get dinner started. Fixed Texas chili. Pretty good, too. We'll have leftovers for lunch.

To tell how old this box of 'junk' was, it was from when I "retired" in 2011. Seriously!! I could not believe the things I found in there. I pulled out a few things and when I got towards the bottom I decided I didn't even know that stuff was there and regardless of the 'value' of labels, cards, envelopes, pens/pencils, clips, etc. - they were all going into the trash. I have plenty of "current" supplies and do not need to keep that. Sure, I could have put in a Goodwill box, but they weren't in any container - just loose in the box. The only explanation I can come up with is that it was from one of the moves within the company and I just dumped the drawers in the box - brought it home - and never opened it again. I think there are another one or two of those somewhere in that stack. After I got to the end of that box I glanced over at the stack of things I kept. And again, I decided I didn't need all that 'stuff' so pulled out what I thought I would need and dumped the rest in the trash as well. Yes, I got rid of some things that were still of use, but daggone it, if I haven't used it or needed it in 2020-2011 = 9 years - well, I don't need it now. Hopefully I can keep that mindset as I go through the rest of the boxes.

Hubby just left for an eye-doctor appointment down in the middle of Phoenix. I don't know who is happier to get out of the house - him or me with him getting out of the house. :-) Actually, we haven't killed each other yet during this quarantine. The key word is 'yet'. Most of the time he will leave me alone while I'm working, but he still interrupts frequently. And heaven help them if anyone wants to ask me a question! Those are the things we fight about - when someone else interrupts me.

SIL and GS brought me a printer yesterday that I could use with my work computer and my personal computer, which they also gave me. It's loaded, but for some reason it remains offline and I don't know how to get it 'online'. We frequently have that problem with our other wireless printer. Not sure what it is but will have GS look at it when he comes over today to do some more work. Our place is really looking good with all work they have been doing on it. Ok then! SIL must have known I was writing about him; he just text'd that he wouldn't be over today as they had something else they needed to do. And that's ok. They have spent a lot of time here fixing things up and have saved us lots of money. They deserve to be able to do some things they want to get done too. I appreciate all that they do for us. I'd like to surprise them and have a few more boxes gone before they come back over. Hoping I will do that! Maybe I'll take a break throughout the day and go out there. If hubby isn't monitoring me that I'm working, I can take breaks, right? :)

And then there are times like last night when I was in work mode after a 2 hour meeting and I was getting things done - and he can't understand why I'm working past my cutoff time. I was getting things done - that was why! Sometimes I just want to keep in that mode. Come the next day, I got to light the fire again and it starts out very slowly!

Ok - need to get busy. Checked on Sheeba and she is staring out the back door. It's quiet so I guess all is well. Or she is chewing on a box again. I don't know what it is with her and cardboard boxes - she loves to chew on them.

In my quiet time this morning, as I was going over all the things that grieve my heart and what I want to see different, I was reminded that unless I let them go, God can't do anything with them. I have to open my hand where I keep all these requests, and let go of what I want Him to take care of. Relationships are the hardest. I've seen God work through some this year already, but there are a couple that break my heart and there is nothing I can do but step back and let God do His thing. The one thing I keep coming back to is 'God's got this'. A friend reminded me of that comment the other night when we chatted. When troubles come, I need to remember that it doesn't catch God by surprise. He knew it was going to happen, and He's got it.

Thank you, Father, for always watching out for me. Heal my broken heart; I know You aren't surprised because Your heart is broken over this too. I open my hand and let it go. Please bring it to Your glory.

Blessings!

Sheeba likes my bathroom.....

not to use it, of course, at least not THAT way. She likes to sneak into the shower and lay down in it. I have heard that dogs feel secure in there - and it's cool. I can imagine me being startled if I go in and all of a sudden the shower curtains move and she's in there. LOL That would be a hoot. She tried to get in there a few minutes ago but I managed to shut the door before she did. Poor baby.

The houes is really starting to come together and it feels like home. I can't explain it, but it feels more like home that our other house did that we were at for 25+ years. Perhaps it is because when things are brought into the house, I am the one being asked where do I want it. I get to make that decision. And if I want it moved, that's ok too. I don't get any feedback, just a 'yes ma'am'. My son-in-law and grandson have gone out of their way to make this house a home for us. Anything we ask for, they take care of. They plan to come back over today to do some touch-up painting on doors and some other things. They tell me to put 'sticky notes' up wherever there is something I want done. I've never been treated with such care, and it makes me feel so wanted. Sometimes things move so fast that I am overwhelmed and can't make a decision - and that's ok too. They just say 'just let me know when you decide where you want it and we'll move it'. No complaints, no whining, no groaning. They are here to help. And it is so very much appreciated.

I haven't had a chance yet - and here it is Wednesday! - to get more things put away or thrown away. I did have a stack of things for Goodwill and the trash from the weekend - they were picked up and taken yesterday which cleaned out the garage some more. We got about six more boxes to go through brought in. I groan when I see "mom's office' on the top of a box. I have no idea what is in there, and I will have to go through it. I had had two large bookcases in the other house and once my books were packed, they got laden down with stuff from my office, extra papers, miscellaneous things, what have you. And I know other things were packed in there too. What am I going to do with all this STUFF??? I'll take a break this afternoon and see if I can't get through at least one box I had brought into the house. It's full of games. We don't play them anymore so am not sure what to do with them. Once in a while when the grandchildren are here we play one or two games, but not all thsee.

It's been a busy morning at work, and I really dislike it when companies from another state will send meeting notices and there is a time difference! Now one did it right, they sent it last week and asked if these times would work as in 8:30-11AM EST. I missed the EST (eastern standard time) and looked at the times and blocked them off. Dang! She sent the meeting notices today and they are for EST time. I sent her a note and said these won't work for us - and she responds "I said EST". So I went to my deleted folder and sure enough, she did. So I had to apologize and admit I missed it. Declined one meeting, and moved two meetings to accommodate the other. Asked for more times to look at and I'll watch for the EST this time. They are the only company that are out of state that doesn't ask for OUR time but gives their EST time. It would be much easier if they would give EST AND PHOENIX time. ugh!! At least I have gotten one set of minutes sent out this morning - and have two more to get done by Friday - PLUS I have a two hour meeting from 2-4PM today that I have to take minutes at. I just can't get caught up.

So I reckon I need to stop trying to write here and get busy. I'm thankful I have a job though. A friend sent me ntoification of a job that is opening up in her department, but it isn't even close to what I'm making now. God has blessed me with the current job so until I am ready to walk away (or they ask me to walk away), I'm not leaving it. I may need to work smarter - which I need to do anyway - but I do have a great job for which I am very thankful for.

Hope you have an amazing day!

Blessings!

Feeling much much MUCH better today!

In some respects, anyway. I'm sad and disappointed in some things going on in the family - and that's a heart sad feeling - but there is nothing I can do in either situation. How I wish I could step in and make things right, and make things good, and bring healing and restoration, but I cannot. I am not God. But I will do the best I can by bringing these situations before my Heavenly Father and ask Him to bring healing, restoration, and make things right. Some people only think of themselves and do not consider extended family members. Parents are hurting, grandparents are hurting, and children are hurting. All I can do is pray and put it in His hands, and allow Him to work things for good. (check out Romans 8:28).

But health-wise, I am feeling better. My neck has pretty much stopped hurting and today I am feeling much 'free-er' - if you can understand what I mean by that. I'm ready to pull out my workout schedule and get started working out again. I know that I will feel better. One drawback is I don't have a treadmill anymore; wonder if I can get hubby to go for a walk after the sun goes down (instead of watching family feud) and get some walking in then. Our lives have begun to remind me of my parents (and I hate that - yep - the hate word) who sat and watched 'Wheel of Fortune' every night. Now add to it Steve Harvey and Family Feud. I don't like the language used in his show. It makes me feel OLD.... and makes hubby OLD too. He just doesn't get it. At least he will finally turn the TV off and we can read for awhile.

Sheeba is definitely missing her morning walks. It has gotten hard for me to get up at 4AM since we moved. Now it's closer to 4:30AM or 5:00AM before this body gets up - and even then it's a struggle. I don't know why unless it's just exhaustion. Before we moved I had a routine going where I'd get up at 4AM (I've probably shared this before), walk Sheeba around 5:30-6:00AM and then be back and ready to work by about 6:50AM. Now with the heat wave we have going on, I don't want to get up and go out. It will still be warm in the evening, but at least I'd already be up. Something to think about.

Back to drinking my shake for breakfast this morning and drinking my water. That is critical, especially right now with our 'heat wave'. I know I have slacked off on my water intake lately because I have been so busy with work and meetings and other things. But now, I need to focus on getting a good 64 ounces down every day - and even more when I'm working out in the garage.

The garage. Didn't get out there last night to unpack a box or two. Really meant to, but it didn't happen. I had a meeting from 3:30-5PM last night and then I had extra things I needed to do before I quit working for the night. Sure enough, at 5:15 hubby was opening my door and commenting "isn't your meeting over yet"? Yes, it was, but I had emails I had to respond to and meetings to schedule right away. Afterall, I was in a meeting for 1.5 hours. He wasn't happy I wasn't out of my room already. It's hard working from home. I enjoy not having the long drive, for sure, and he enjoys me being at home (help with Sheeba, fix lunch, have an early dinner, etc.) but he can't stand me not being available for whatever he wants to tell me. He frequently opens my (office) door - or comes to the door if I haven't shut it - and has to tell me the latest news or weather update. I jsut listen to make him happy he has told me something. Of course Sheeba comes in periodically and nudges me that she wants petted. And then lays down beside my desk for awhile. Or outside the door.

Speaking of Sheeba - she reminds me of a cat. When I go to the bathroom, she will come and lay outside the door, and sometimes will put her paws under the door to let me know she is there. Cracks me up.

I've seen some pretty powerful works of God these past few weeks. I've seen His hand in many situations. I'm still trusting Him for answers on others. I'm not perfect by any means. I make mistakes. I say things I shouldn't say and I get angry, just as anyone else. But one thing I do know. God loves me, and He loves you. He offers us GRACE when we don't deserve it. I would be lost without His Grace. Truly. You have no idea how bad it would be. I run to Him every day to help me through difficult situations and circumstances. And He always answers. Not in the ways I would always want Him to answer, or even when I want Him to answer. He grants travel mercies. He brings healing. He changes situations. He restores relationships. He often reminds me to be quiet and allow Him to work through situations I think shuold be taken care of right now. God is good. All the time God is good. I am thankful He hasn't given up on me. And He hasn't given up on you. Look to Him. He has ALL the answers.

Blessings!

Hanging On.... by a thread sometimes.

Trying to think of how to start this post out when I realized what time it is and I need to leave in about 10 minutes. Not going to try and rush through typing something - I make enough mistakes as it is. Which is weird, cause I watch the words as I'm typing and they are spelled correctly. However, when it gets posted, there are several misspelled words. And it annoys me to where I want to go back in (and have sometimes) and correct the misspelled words.

MUCH LATER than when I started this little 'chat'. Went to Life Line Screening and it took two hours to go through all their testing. I could have done a couple more, but opted out this time. May do them next time cause they additional tests would be for kidney and liver function. Could be interesting, right? Let's see if I can remember what tests I did today. Hmmm... I did the blood test for C Reactive protein (I know, that tells you a lot), also had cholesterol panel and glucose done. I actually got the test results on that within minutes. 208 on Cholesterol, but that isn't as bad as I thought it could be, considering I've been quarantined since March and eating most everything. The one I am more concerned about is glucose and it was 96 so I'm relieved there, as 61-99 is considered normal now. In fact, I like how the numbers have changed. Even with 208 total cholesterol, 200-239 is considered borderline high....and at 208 I'm on the low end of that. Still, I need to watch it. And sigh, I shrunk 1/4". Say it isn't so, Ethel!! Maybe I didn't stand up tall enough. Yeah, that's it!

I also had the Carotid Artery Plaque build-up tested on the left and right of my neck, Peripheral Arterial Disease screening done, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm screening, and an Osteoporosis Risk check (scanned my tibia bone). I should get those test results in about a week to 10 days. Since I don't see a doctor on a regular basis, and have changed 3-4 times the past 3 years, I wanted to have these checked (wish I could remember where I put the first one - buried in a box somewhere I'm sure). If it comes back something is critical, then I know I need to do something.

New paragraph. I did get a nice compliment at the start of my last test. We always have to give our birthdate when we go into each section so that they can ensure they have the right person. After I gave my birthdate, the guy said, "I would hvae never guessed you were 70 years old. Maybe I ought to ask for identification." Wasn't that a sweet thing to say?! The last time I got "carded" was when a granddaughter and I went to Savers a few years ago and we happened to be there on a Wednesday which is seniors day. Well, I wanted the discount, so I asked for it. The clerk made me show her my drivers License to prove I was over 55. Nice.

I worked a little yesterday even though it was Sunday, and I'm glad I did, for today has been a bear and with taking off for a couple hours (then sending hubby to Arbys when I get home caues he hasn't planned anything or lunch and I was hungry after fasting all morning for the blood tests). Quickly ate my lunch and here I am. I couldn't believe they charged $2.89 for curly fries!! I won't get those again. I think next time I'll throw some hamburgers on the stove and fix those - they'd have more flavor and would save me some moola. $17.84 for lunch for two sanwiches and two fries is ridiculous. Unbelievable, in fact. All the more reason I choose carefully where we eat out at. Since we've moved I'm having to find new locations; Arbys are a short distance down dthe road. I hadn't eaten there in 3-4 years on purpose - why did I lower my choice? Convenience. They aren't even as good as they used to be. Bland. Disappointing for sure. Besides I can't get the article out of my mind that I read where the meat comes in frozen and when the employees pull it apart, they get red dye all over their hands/gloves. That was a turnoff for me. And since I need to start eating more healthy (another topic, another day), I think I just ate my last 'meal' from Arbys. I have never been a big beef eater.

Oh joy. Just got an email from my boss that one of the executive admins who has been out for around 10 months on short/long term disability is coming back to work. She didn't say when, but that will mean she will take back one of the people I took on.... I can think of a couple others I'd like to give her for the one she will take isn't that much work at all. I've enjoyed working with her. Another story for anotehr day.

and I got to get back to work - break over. Until another time -

Blessings!

Keeping on, Keeping on

That's what life is sometimes, isn't it? You gotta keep on keeping on. Or keeping on, keeping on. Gee, have you ever noticed how that word looks weird when you type it out? Keep. Keeping. LOL Squirrel!

It's Sunday and we listened to Pastor Jentezen Franklin this morning - what a powerful message on honoring authority in our lives. It could be our parents - which is the 5th commandment, I believe - or it could be offices people hold. Or in reality, anyone you know you should honor. I know, sometimes it is so very hard, I know that, but we are called to honor those in authority. Let me rephrase that - honor the OFFICE, not necessarily the person. You know what I mean. We also listened to our church with Pastor Paul Johnson. Another good message.

I jumped online for a few minutes and daggone it - I had a dozen emails and one from my boss which asked me to set up 10 - I am not exaggerating it - 10 1/2 hour meetings with GROUPS of people. And of course they would like them within the next week. Unfortunately, I've gotten through four of them and I'm already in week two. She didn't give me a timeframe so am going with what I can find. Just one of the stresses of this job.

But I gotta keep working for awhile - my son-in-law and daughter bought me a new desk! I am loving it because I have enough room for my laptop, a monitor, and a large keyboard. Plus some other things. Before things were a bit tight, but here we go - I am classy now! :-)

After watching the two messages on hubby's computer, I went out to the garage to see what I could do. Hubby reminded me it was Sunday and I should take time off, but I still wanted to get some things done - and I did. I only worked out there about an hour but managed to get a couple boxes cleared out. Unfortunately my big - as in very big - stack of boxes of papers and who knows what else is still there. I finished unpacking my china and am working on getting some put in the china cabinet. I love dishes. I love crystal. I love beautiful dishes because I love to entertain. I just need to do it more often.

But as I started unpacking, I had a thought! I'm always wishing I knew someone who could use these things - and I thought of someone - maybe. My nephew has moved out here - albeit it may be temporary, who knows. I don't know if he can stand the heat and he's here in the hotest time! But if she stays and gets his own place, I do have a couple things that I can pass on to him to use. Happy to, in fact. In spite of the fact when my older sister has given him very nice things - including her personal cedar chest - and other items, he left them in the last house he had to leave from. I don't know the circumstances, but according to my sister, he walked off and left everything in the house; quilts, new bed, sofa, grills, her cedar chest - and whatever else she has given him to set up 'house'. But - I can't let that weigh my decision because it will go to Goodwill or it can go to him. I think I'd rather help him out if I can.

I haven't seen my nephew or my youngest son since they returned from Indiana and their other state roadtrip. I'm hoping they are in a 14 day quarantine - self-imposed - since they were gone a week all over the place.

My son-in-law, daughter, and grandson came over yesterday morning and hung up a bunch of pictures and things that we were wanting back up on the wall. Personally I was overwhelmed with it all, but it all gone completed quickly and then they were gone. They need the rest from all the work they have done for us. I'm just not good at making quick decisions and want to think about it, whereas when they are here to work, I need to make that decision so that it can be completed. They have been really good about asking what they can do and where do I want it. I so appreciate all the help they have given us. I sent a video of the different rooms to my big brother and he said that 'they did good' in taking care of us - and now he doesn't have to worry about making sure I'm taken care of.

Because of the quarantine I have been cooking a lot more - which is a good thing - for I love to cook. I'm working on clearing out our freezer as I go. I'm a good one for looking in the freezer and deciding on something else. I did go to Safeway yesterday but I guess I really wasn't in the mood to do grocery shopping; plus the fact that they are a bit more expensive than Frys so when I look at a can of beans and it's .99 and I think to myself I can get it at Fry's for .58, yeah, I think I bypassed it. I did score a couple litres of Dr. Pepper for hubby @ .99 each. That's the sale price - at Safeway they are normally $1.99 (are you kidding me?)! I do like Safeway meats because it always looks better and they did have some good sales on yesterday. I'm still trying to use up what I have so didn't buy any meat. Main thing I was trying to find out where some of the stores are so just took off driving down the street and it wasn't but maybe a mile away. Now I know where it is. We found Fry's last week, but I wasn't too impressed with that Fry's. Just wasn't that comfortable with the layout. I hear there is a Bashas closeby too so will need to check it out.

Guess I have rambled on enough and it's past lunch time so need to go figure out what to eat. I'm hungry!

Have a good, restful, and family filled day! Do something special with someone you love.:)

I take what relief I can!

I found our hot water bottle! I filled it up with hot tap water this morning and put across my shoulders/neck and oh the blissful relief of non-stabbing pain. You know, the pain that is like a pin-prick that sends chills all over your body. Yeah, that pain.

Alas, the above reprieve has disappeared. I let myself go without the hot water bottle for about an hour - such relief - and now the pain is back. I have refilled the bottle twice and still have the crushing pain in my neck and upper back - yes, it has now centered in my upper back - which tells me it is probably just stress. Hoping beyond hope that the massage I have scheduled at 5PM today will loosen up those knotted muscles. I knew they were there. I've been told that quite a bit lately. But when I scheduled a follow-up this last time - before we moved - who I used decided to take a day off... and then I got busy with moving. I may have to make a few weekly trips at this new place just to find someone who can take care of these knots before my neck freezes into place. Been there, done that and it took 4 deep tissue massages within 3 weeks to get rid of them.

SO as you can probably figure out, I have gotten SOME work done today, but not as much as I would have liked to. I got real energetic when the pain went away - but when it started coming back, my work level dropped immensely. I have to lean back in the chair to get relief. I finally got that project done only to be told he would have another. I suggested sending it to me on Monday cause I certainly could not work on it today. I am completely drained.
manage headaches/stomachache
I don't know how my daughter in law works with the intense pain she has frequently. I don't think I could - and I do have a high pain tolerance. I can usu aches/ leg/foot pain/ arm/wrist pain.... but when it comes to my neck and upper back, I cannot think straight. Even medication for pain has not helped my neck and back. The heat did the first time, but has rejected it this time. tick tock tick tock... waiting on time for me to get off the work computer so that I can head to massage envy for my massage.

So glad the weekend is here and I can attack the boxes in the garage. Son-in-law just came by to pick up the empty boxes, trying to help us clean the garage out. Tomorrow I have to attack it. Hubby has no clue what to do with anything so it's up to me or it don't get done.

I'm sure each of us have someone in our life like that person. The saying is true, 'if I don't do it, it don't get done'. Yep.

Gotta go - have a great weekend.

still in pain....have I figured out why?

I sat outside for about an hour last night as the sun went down. The front patio was shaded, tho warm, and Sheeba and I sat out front. I talked to my little sissy on the telephone. Her hubby went in the hospital yesterday for a stem cell transplant for his multiple myeloma. I'm hoping she will get a reprieve while he is in the hospital. There are three days he cannot have any visitors. I told her to take off and go to Tennessee to see her son! She desperately needs to get away and have some fun and some rest. He will be in the hospital for 21 days. He will guilt her into being in the hospital with him to keep an eye on her so she can't have any rest. But for those three days, I hope she can get away.

Anyway - as I sat outside chattng with my sister last night I realized my neck had stopped hurting. Oh blessed relief! Unless you have had constant neck pain, no matter which way you turn your head trying to find that little space where it doesn't hurt, you can't understand. I began to think that perhaps it is because I am always cold in this house. Everywhere I sit I have cold air blowing directly on me - except in this room which is only the side of the vent that gets me. I'm wondering if I feel the cold air and I tense up and now my neck and shoulders are so tight that it won't release - unless I sit outside for an hour in the heat. For the next hour or so after I came into the house I kept a sweater on and wrapped around my neck. When I went to bed, I made sure the covers were up over my neck and went sound asleep - until 1AM. That was when the thought occurred to me about the cold air and keeping my neck covered. I turned this way and that way for the next two hours - yep - around 3AM before I finally fell back to sleep. This morning I am struggling with the constant twitching of pain and discomfort. I even let the hot water run on my neck in the shower and only got momentarily relief.

Hopefully the massage I have scheduled for tomorrow evening will loosen up whatever is going on. I know I can't continue like this. I will have to break down and make a doctor's appointment - at which they can do nothing but guess what it is - and possibly refer me out to ?? what?? UGH and I have a two hour meeting I have to sit through this morning and take minutes. Thus far I am not doing too well.

Oh, another theory on my sore neck - we bought a new bed/mattress when we moved in here. The mattress is very firm and I love it. But, I didn't change out my pillow. I'm wondering now that since my body isn't sinking into the mattress, that my neck is at an angle that it isn't used to. Something else to think about. I'm going to swap out a pillow from the other bed tonight and see if that helps.
Maybe I need to go outside and sit for a little bit, hoping the warm air will loosen up whatever is wrong?

My son-in-law and grandson didn't make it over yesterday to put together the desk. My daughter had text'd that they were on their way. What she didn't know was that my grandson said they had a stop to make first. Well, long story short, they didn't make it over, but my daughter got two gifts for their 25th wedding anniversary that totally surprised her, I'm sure. In the meantime, hubby and I had moved out the table that I was working off of to another room. Now, since I have to work today and have a 2 hour meeting ahead of me, have moved the card table back into this room so that I can put the computer on it so that I can work. I don't mind it; I make do.

Ok- going to go sit outside; I've got to get some control so that I can work during the meeting in a half hour! Hope you ahve a good day!

when will it stop?

UGH my neck is still twitching with pulses that send chills down my body. I'm pretty sure it is a pinched nerve from somewhere - but don't know where. I slept well last night without any problems, and when I got up this morning it wasn't hurting, but here it is going on 11AM and I am moving my neck every which way to get relief. Even the essential oils aren't working. Only annoying me cause I don't like the smell of all these together. But if it will help, I will endure. Still have not figured out what is causing the neck to irritate me. Hubby is bugging me to go get a massage and I just might do that. Boo - the person I used at the usual place is no longer there so guess I will go ahead and find someone at a location closer to us now. Nothing available until Friday @ 5PM that I can attend to. Will have to think about it for a few minutes before I select it.

I'm feeling antsy today. Can't seem to sit still. Perhaps part of it is my neck. Just put a lot of oils used for headaches on it - sure do hope it works. It's hard to focus when I have distractions like that. I'd rather be in the garage unpacking rather than sitting here trying to work when I don't want to. My boss and I had a meeting this morning at 8AM and we both have agreed we don't want to go back into an office to work. For one thing, I'm nearly 50 miles away from my office now, and they are looking at buildings even farther away than that! It may be a career changer for me if they insist I come in every day. Quitting work won't go over well with hubby, I'm sure. If I can just hold off for another year or so. My son-in-law has done a lot to make it possible that I can retire next year. Our new house payment, including HOA, is still less than what we paid at our other house (and we owe less). I have enough money left yet to pay off my car and I only owe a very small amount on a couple credit cards that I could pay them off right now if needed. I just like having some money in my account so am leaving it there as long as I can. If hubby would give me back the bills, I know I could quit work by the first of the year, but with not knowing what he is doing I cannot. I will not give him my entire check because I can't trust that he will pay all the bills on time. Past experience shows he does it when he wants to.

Today is my daughter and son-in-law's 25th wedding anniversary. They were planning on coming over here and putting together my desk and unpacking boxes, but I hope they go off and do something fun. Maybe at least go out to lunch and dinner. I'm not going to bug them, anyway. Putting the desk together can wait, as can unpacking boxes. That's my therapy anyway.

Teehee. Hubby went off to the bank this morning..... so I ran out to the garage and grabbed a stack of books and the step-stool and filled in a small section of the bookcase. He hasn't noticed yet. It's pitiful that I have to resort to that to get things done. But, I do what I can.

One thing for sure about our new home - the air vents are perfect for people who need air conditioning blowing on them frequently. EVERY room and every place that I sit, has the air blowing right on me. And I don't do cold air unless I'm burning hot. Which I'm not, I'm always cold. Even now I sit witha shawl over m
y shoulders becuase I'm cold. Of course yesterday and today it is partly because of the twitches in my neck that send cold chills over me. But I don't do cold. Cold, I want to curl up in a ball with my blankie and a good book and want to be left alone. Hopefully this winter it will reverse and I will have all the warm air that I want! The air circulation in this place is fabulous, for sure!

I haven't gotten much done this morning so need to force myself to focus and work. Hope you are having a good day!

Busy and Crazy Day....

I don't know what it is, but it's like I have a pinched nerve in my neck that constantly sends electric pulses down my neck - and it is driving me nuts. I have put heat presses, cold presses, I have used the roller on my back and neck - and I've tried stretching it - and even now I am dealign with it. It sends these pulses, then I get a chill. Sure hope it goes away soon. I've done about all I know to do with it. Have no idea what it is unless 1) I slept wrong, or 2) sitting at this computer (and probably not properly since it's a makeshift) has tensed it up. It is very annoying, to say the least! If I lay my head back in the chair, I get relief. But, I can't stay that way either.

My daughter called me this morning that I was getting an early birthday present. I tried to think what it could be - and all I could come up with was probably a sewing machine cabinet. But - when it arrived today, it is a really, really, nice computer desk! It's also 133 pounds so we can't pull it in from the front porch. My son-in-law and grandson will have to bring it in and put it together for me. I guess working off this small vanity table didn't set too well since hubby took the big office with the large desk space. I wasn't complaining - I choose my battles. But it will be nice not to have to stretch back away from the monitor becuase the monitor and keyboard are next to each other and that's all I can get on the table. Maybe that's what is wrong with my neck.

In my quest of getting my neck to stop hurting I was able to eliminate another box in the garage. Slow progress, but at least it is getting done. I hope to get out there tonight and try to get more things done. Sigh. I've found 4 more boxes of books which will set hubby off becuase I will take up more of "his" space on the bookcases. I see the top row is entirely empty - but then, we will need a ladder to get them up there. I wish I could send him to the store by himself or something so that I can get them put up. I can't do anything that affects him when he's home. And he watches everything that I try to do as well. He needs a life.

I finally have a plan in place for my older and younger sisters. I texted them both last night that in 2022 us three girls will do a 'Sister's Getaway' and do a cruise. Well, the older sister doesn't want to do a cruise so I talked her into us flying to Hawaii, then we can do a small boat cruise (whale watch?) to go to another island. She has never been anywhere. The younger sister has been on a cruise; don't remember where she went but when she retired, she took her entire family on a cruise. And paid for it. That's all well and good cause she had enough money to do that. I don't, so each sister will be paying for her own trip. I told them we have two years to save for it so we have plenty of time. Hopefully by then the coronavirus will be gone and life will be somewhat back to normal. Of course I haven't told hubby - he will have a hissy fit that I would dare plan a trip without him. I just want to live my life. It's not a big thing, but I want to be with others. He only wants to be with me. He desperately needs to find a hobby or a life - I don't care which - but one that doesn't involve me. I'm dying of being smothered. So - Sister's Getaway - Hawaii 2022! My older sister actually sounded excited. I feel sorry for her; she really has had a rough life.

Sheeba got a bath and nails trimmed today. So glad there are people who travel to groom dogs. This company has their people pull a small trailer behind their vehicle and they groom the dogs there. After PetSmart has banned Sheeba from their 'spa', we had to find something else. Sheeba willingly goes with this lady and lets her bathe her, brush her teeth, and trim her nails. She doesn't like being dried with the blower, so she usually comes in a little damp - and that's ok. She can dry naturally. We're getting her set up for a monthly wash and trim - and they come to our house so it works perfectly. Cost is comparable to what we were having to pay at PetSmart.

I found a card as I was unpacking the other day that I had written down from one of Mark Batterson's books. I imagine it was the Circle Maker, which is an excellent book, by the way.

Make the sacrifice.
Take the risk.
Draw the circle.

In other words, do what you need to do, get out of your comfort zone, and focus on what you want. My interpretation of course.

How bad do you want something that you would give up something to get it, and let go of other things to get it? First thought that comes to mind is a diet. Yeah, me and food. How bad do I want to lose weight? Enough to give up my ice cream? Enough that I will 'risk' letting go of fatty foods to eat a good diet of good food, and dream about the size I want to be? I guess time will tell.

What is important to you? What would you give up for your child, your grandchild? Even your great-grandchild. Would you give up something you enjoy, something you want, you desire, to just be able to have time to make memories? Something to think about!

Blessings!
