I guess it wouldn't be so bad if the pain would just subside in my neck. I don't know how many pills I took yesterday - but I did sleep good last night - and when I woke up, again, no pain. But within a half hour of getting up the pain is full force again. Could it be a pinched nerve? From what? I don't know! I was fine until Monday morning.
I had a 'virtual' appointment last night with a new doctor. Actually, she is a PA. But I don't care. I need to get a prescription refilled and the only way I could do that was get an "appointment". So she called me and we chatted. It's a maintenance drug so it has to go to the company pharmacy in Chandler and they will mail it out. I think I will call them today to make sure they got it so they can get it in the mail. I run out on Sunday. A few days without isn't a big deal, I don't think.
I did kinda like this PA cause she has ordered a full metabolic screening cause she needs an update on my blood work - it's been a year - and it's about time for my physical again. I asked her how we were going to do that! I take my own blood pressure (if I can find where I put the equipment!!) and temperature. At least I can go to the lab and get the blood work done and she will have it and can make decisions from that. It should be ok. I don't like having an appointment with the doctor and then get blood work done and have to either wait for a phone call or go back again for another appointment just for the test results.
I did a Life Line Screening recently and got the results back the other day. Overall I'm healthy, but there were a couple things they suggested I have the doctor check out. I'll send my new PA the paperwork they sent me and let her make that decision. I haven't gotten the mammogram yet that I need to get done. When I found out last year that the doctor I had selected was leaving that practice, I didn't want to have a stranger looking at my stuff and giving me what they think. So I didn't do it. I don't even know where that prescription is now. Buried in a box somewhere marked "Mom's office".
Dang fly is annoying me in here this morning! Going to find that fly swatter - I know approximately where it is in the garage! Got him!
I read an interesting devotional this morning by Chuck Swindoll. It was titled 'Take Time". In the devotion, it talked about how much our children need us to 'take time' to mentor them, lead them, show them how to live. So many children nowadays are left without fathers, without mothers, who have walked away and left them to their own devices. Filled with hurt and uncertainty, children don't know what to think or how to act in certain situations. We have failed these children.
What can we do for our own children? Mine are grown, and I doubt seriously if they want any advice from mom, but what about their children? What about the children they are producing? Do they know how to mentor their children, help them lead productive lives?
With all the riots and protests today, my mind questions if their parents would be proud of them and their behavior? Some probably don't even care. But - if these people had been taught how to live a productive life, would all this craziness still be happening?
We are definitely in the end times and it is really scary. I won't live to see it, I'm sure, but my great-grandchildren might - and that scares me for them. We need to take time to teach them right from wrong. Teach them to love God and how to live according to His Word. And the best way we can do that is by example.
Ponder that one.
