I am freezing in the office today - I don't know what the temperature is (I know it is HOT outside!!) but it is cold. My nose keeps dripping - and I want to take a nap. When I get cold, my body shuts down and I want to go to sleep. Drinking a "Bang" which is like an energy drink but has no calories, no sugar - but is loaded with caffeine. I'm hoping it will kick in so that I can shake off this sleepiness.
I learned something new yesterday. We have what is called Microsoft Teams on our computers. I have avoided it like the plague because I do not like learning new things that I will rarely use. and other reasons. But - my boss insisted that I use it to create a location to put notes from meetings. I grumbled a bit - and then she showed me how. It didn't seem quite as intimidating as it did at first. I should take advantage of some time I have today (both bosses are out today) and learn more about it - but I don't want to. But I did create a 'Team' yesterday and added some documents to it. I do need to add some more things - and I may - or may not get around to it today.
Things are very quiet here at work today. Most people work from home on Fridays and one of my bosses is still on vacation - an Alaskan cruise - and the other went to our Phoenix corporate office for meetings today. So here I am in my corner all by myself. I like it quiet so no problem there. I even took time to unravel a ball of yarn that our new puppy totally destroyed.
Our new puppy. Our new puppy's name is 'Sheeba'. For some reason hubby wanted to name her that and I just said 'whatever'. We should have called her Marley for more often than not, that is what we call her. She got the rest of her shots last week so now I can take her for a walk. It's been too hot in the evenings to do it yet, but hope to be able to get out early tomorrow morning and take her at least around the block. We checked in at Petco for dog training classes. Interesting. The person we spoke with about it - well, I was irritated at hubby so wasn't in a good mood and I just didn't involve myself in the conversation so it was hubby spoke to the person about it - anyway, six sessions - or 12 sessions - and she gave the price. Not bad, really. Considering what they would do. She clearly explained that SHE doesn't do the training. She will SHOW us how to do something (sit, for example)with Sheeba and then we are to do it ourselves. Understandable. Her conversation was nearly every sentence punctuated with "well, basically....." . I rolled my eyes. Basically. I told hubby that if that is all it is, then he can get on the ball and do it himself. :-) Our granddaughter had originally taken her dog to someone to be trained as a service dog before Lotus had to have hip surgery .... and has offered to do the basics with Sheeba. I think we will ask her to do six weeks of 'training' with us and Sheeba - and pay her to help us. It will help her too as once school starts she won't have a job as she will be student teaching and she won't get paid to do that. So, hubby was going to talk with her about it. Heaven forbid that I should take the opportunity to talk to her about it first.... just saying.
Life at home has been difficult. Hubby gets bored because he doesn't have anyone (but Sheeba now) to talk with - except on his Monday evenings and Friday mornings he meets with his men friends. So when I come home he is cranky and critical. I get so tired of it all. Some evenings I just totally withdraw mentally just to avoid it. He hasn't held up his end of his agreement when he chose to 'retire'. When I talk of retiring, he goes ballistic on me. I don't want to be home with that so why retire. At least I can get out of the house. Other than all the time I spend on the road to and from work, I somewhat enjoy my job. I like the people I work with. And I can work from home on occasion. The pay is good. I'll keep working as long as I can.
So glad it's Friday today. I want to work in my back room and in the closets this weekend and get rid of things. I'm in a clear out mood. It's hard to do when hubby is home. But I really need to get it done. Plus I have a lot of sewing to get done for Christmas gifts and repairs.
Guess that's all for today. Hope your day is going well.
Blessings!

July is 1/2 over.... almost
Some days it seems that time is slowly going by - and yet, when I think about where we are in the year - realizing that today is July 12 seems so unreal. And yet it is. And with July has come the heat. I am not complaining, mind you, but plenty of other people are.
Had a lot of things going on lately. Work has been overwhelmingly busy. So glad this is Friday, although I do need to bring my computer home. My bosses think I'm spoiled. I don't know where they get that. I use two computer monitors at work, so if I'm working at home, don't I still need two computer monitors? I think so. :-) I have the two computer monitors set up - but am still missing the connector - I forget what it's called. It's ordered and as soon as IT brings it to me, I'll take it home and get it set up so that I can use two monitors at home.
For my personal computer I also have two monitors - but I don't have the converter for that either so only use my big 24" screen. Anyone need another screen? I think it is missing one cord. I think it's a 22 inch or something like that - my boss had given it to me but it was missing a cord. I've been able to work from home a few Fridays which has been nice - I'm at the computer working all day - (more than when I'm at the office, really) - but still, I don't work from home that often.
Last Sunday I noticed my left rear tire was low...very low. Went to work late so that we could take it down to the tire place - 15 pounds of pressure.... slow leak. They filled it up with nitrogen and I went on to work. Went back Wednesday and they checked it again - have to get a new tire. Got the windshield wipers replaced caused they weren't doing their job. They ordered the tire so I went back last night to have them replace it. I really like how they take care of me. We had a warranty on the tire so all I had to pay for was the new warranty on the new tire. I think this is the third time we have replaced a tire the past couple years - and they are always under warranty so only have to pay for the new one. Works for me.
We are getting a sprinkler system put in the back yard. It is 95% dirt and I'm just sick of the way it looks. So - I discussed it with my son-in-law and he is putting in the new sprinkler system and then planting grass seed for us. Also realigned the sprinklers in front. I figure I had better start getting the house straightened up (yard-wise) if we ever sell it - well, it would be to our advantage. We are arguing over payment (he won't let me pay for it) but I'll figure out something to make up for it. I appreciate him taking the time to fix the yard for us. I can't depend on anyone else to do it..... enough said.
Our new "puppy" is now 4 months old. Hubby is getting worn out with her, I think. She won't have all her shots for another week so we cannot take her out walking for exercise. And is she ever a handful! She loves coming to jump up in my lap - which isn't bad unless I'm crocheting or knitting and then I have to push her off. Her nails have really grown and are sharp - got my arm the other day - so we already have a grooming appointment for her right after she gets her last shots. I'm just wishing we could get her totally housebroken.
Yeah - that is something I want to do this weekend - shampoo the dining room carpet. She hasn't been allowed much in the back rooms so nothing is on those - but that dining room carpet has had it's share. I don't remember Marley being this hard to train - but then, I was home when we had Marley as a puppy. Hubby doesn't have the patience to watch her.... I think he falls asleep more often than he acknowledges and when he wakes up... anyway....
Well, I have gotten two emails to create 4 meetings so guess I need to get busy. Hope you are having a great summer. I'm looking forward to August when I'm taking a week off. Getting some doctor appointments taken care of - hubby wants to do a day trip or two. We just can't agree on the day trip. Me - I'd go to Tucson. :-)
Blessings!
