I bought a new thermometer. Hubby 'insisted' I get one. Probably for every time he comes to me and asks "do I feel like I have a fever"? But this time, as I was figuring out how it worked, I tried it on myself, and I had a fever. I've tried a couple more times. I mean, it's only one degree, come on, but still.
I think I know what it is. I have a tooth that is infected (under the crown). And it doesn't hurt, although it is puffy around it. It's not hot. I've put it off because it means about $400 for a new crown. And who wants to pay for a NEW crown? And I may need someone to do a root canal too. Just in case it wasn't done before. It's been 30 years since I had that crown put on, I imagine. I have no idea what was done.
So I called the dentist. Bless their hearts. They have an 8AM in the morning, but I have a 9AM meeting (9-11AM) that I have to take minutes for so must attend. Then there were no openings until June 24th. Too late for my purposes. But they came through for me. They said they will look at the tooth tomorrow at 1PM and see if I need antibotics to break the infection. If it looks like I need a new crown immediately, they will work me in and see what they can do. I expressed my concern about the fever part.
I leave on our Jailbreak Getaway this Friday morning. And although I am pretty confident it isn't COVID 19 because I haven't been anywhere except to my daughter's - AND to the lab last week to get tested for a UTI AND to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription. I mean, I really have NOT been anywhere. Hubby has done all the running around. I am praying it is just that this tooth is infected bad enough to give me a slight fever. I do have some allergies from the crap in the air - so I have a 'cough' a couple times throughout the day because of that. And usually when I think about the allergies. I can still taste and smell food. I don't think I have any other symptoms. It's just this dang fever. 99.7-100.4.
If we go anywhere, most places will be taking temperatures and if you have one, will not allow you in. Of coures there aren't many places that we plan to go, but I want confirmation this is just a tooth infection fever. I mean, it isn't that high - like 99.7 - 100.4, but still. It makes me anxious and I won't be able to go on this trip if I even suspect it could be something else. I could not bear to pass it on to anyone, especially my daughter or pregnant granddaughter! I have one day to get results.
So I'm praying the dentist will say it isn't my imagination, the tooth is infected, and that is what is causing my fever. If it isn't, and he doesn't, then I will cancel my trip and not go. And that would break my heart, but that is what I must do - if it is anything else.
So I'm praying. Is it silly to pray for a tooth infection and not another type? I don't care. I will suffer through the tooth infection. I will pay the $400 for a new crown. I will do whatever it takes to get to go up north for this trip. I need it for my sanity. My well-being.
But I will also do what it takes to make sure my daughter and granddaughter are safe. If I need to stay home, so be it. I'm still tasting and smelling, eating, and - heck, I don't even know what the symptoms of covid 19 are except losing taste and smell. Guess I need to look it up.
Pray for me - that I will break this fever quickly and it's only the infected tooth. Thanks!
Trusting God - He knows best.
Addendum: I checked google for symptoms. It mentioned chilling and I was so cold yesterday - but it wasn't a sick chill - if you know what I mean. I am sitting under a vent in this room, in the middle. With shorts and t-shirt and flip-flops - well, people who know me, know that I'm always cold. I think I'm good there. I did have headache the other day - but again, I contribute that to this crazy tooth infection.
Taking my green leaf extract and elderberry syrup 'just in case'! Need it to clear this infection up anyway!
