Hubby said he didn't remember...

Somehow our talking yesterday got around to him touching my back during the night and awakening me - he said he doesn't remember doing it.  Well, something touched my back.  But last night it was him tossing and turning that kept awakening me.  I looked at the clock one time and it was 3AM and I told myself 'no way - go back to sleep'!  We had gone to bed around 10PM last night and I was still sleepy.  I was surprised that I did fall back to sleep and I woke at 4AM so got up.  But then... yep, I closed my eyes after I got settled in my chair and next thing I know, hubby was bringing in my coffee at 5AM.  Lost another hour this morning by sleeping.  Got to get it together!  It's already 6:35AM and here I am just starting on this - so it may be a short one - that is if I can even think of something to write about!

Friday.  End of my work week.  I want you to know that I FINALLY got started on the minutes of that last board meeting. Although I am not finished with them, I have gotten a good start.  I'm hoping to finish them today and be done with them.  They are so out of order as to what I'm used to so I've struggled in getting things in their proper places.  But I will. :-)

I finished another book this morning so now have 23 actually recorded that I have read out of the 50 goal.  I wonder if there is a way to see what are all the books I am showing as 'reading' when I may have finished them and forgot to close them off.  I'll have to ask my oldest son, who is an avid reader and encouraged me to make a challenge for myself.  The encouragement works for I often will remind myself to pick up a book, or pick up my kindle to read.  Glad Kindle is also on my phone so that when I'm out somewhere I can still read.  I've always loved to read, as my mama did.  She read a lot as well.  I think I beat her count, as my son is definitely giving my count a whooping. :-)

I don't think there are any real plans for the weekend, at this point.  Years ago I would plan a Father's Day meal but that fell by the wayside years ago.  And that's ok.  The boys and SIL have their own families and their children are grown and need to honor them.  I'm grateful to get a text from my children on special days; it means they haven't forgotten me. :-)  And I think my children are starting to appreciate their receipt of texts from their children as well on their special days.  And yes, Mother's Day and Father's Day are still special days, although commercialized way too much.  I would rather choose surprise visits and texts and calls when I don't expect them. :-)

I had a mosquito or a bug bite me twice on my right leg and daggone it, those spots have been itching for two days!  I suppose it is 'time' to put something on them to stop the itching, you think?  I'm not one of these 'run to the medicine cabinet' for every little ache and ailment.  I'm one who will put it off by saying "I'm fine" and will deal with it until I can't stand it anymore.  Anyone else like me?

BTW, we have determined the bug bites on the inside of my leg from back last October were scorpion bites.  I thought a scorpion would only strike one time, but I have been informed otherwise.  But there had to be more than one that was attacking me, surely.  I remember my suitcase being open on the fireplace hearth - and then my pajamas were on top.  It's possible... but if we go to bed early, why 2AM to decide for dinner on my leg?  Oh well. The spots are gone now.  But if it ever happens again, I know to bypass the urgent care AND the dermatologist and go straight to the ER - I've learned they would have given me an IV of antibiotics that would have greatly reduced my discomfort over all these months.  I was already taking two antibiotics - but needed a stronger dose than the doctors could give me outside of the ER.  It's gone now, pretty much, except where the biopsy was taken.  Interesting.

As you can tell I am stretching things out here to have something for you to read.  My life is boring, as a rule, what can I say about a boring life?  Hubby met his friend for their study last night and I was home alone.  I watched a couple movies and relaxed and crocheted.  Wasted time, actually.  I 'should have' got some exercise in, I 'should have' figured out food for the coming week, I 'should have' read my book(s), but my 'should have' fell by the way side and I was totally lazy.  And that's ok.  We all need those times, right?  Come on, agree with me here!

Hubby is off to his bible study with his friends this morning.  I am grateful for the quiet time of being alone, although he isn't ALWAYS in here; it just seems like he interrupts a lot.  I shut my door and he will open it to ask me if the TV is too loud (cause he doesn't want his headset on) or am I in a meeting. Does it really matter WHY I shut the door?  Can I not just shut the door and be left alone? Pretend I'm not here, right?  Anyway - home alone for a short while this morning, although I will be working. The computer is already up - and I have about 5 minutes before I need to move from this desk to the other.

Luke 11:13 (NKJV):  If you then being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!

Well, pickles!  I heard my computer ding - I forgot there is an early 'board meeting review' that starts in two minutes.  But guess what - I'm not going to call in for it.  Unless I am asked to.  I need to sit this boss down and give him MY opinion about who should be invited to these meetings and WHY are they NOT necessary.  And I will, too, just not this moment.  But - gotta go - it's time for me to work.

Have an awesome day - it's going to be a beautiful one!

Blessings!

Since you are using Goodreads for your book count, there are a couple ways, depending on how you access your account. Do you use the app on your phone, or use your computer? I'll see if I can write out how to do both ways in an email for you and get it to you later today.

Okay, I sent an email to your Gmail account. Hope that explains well enough.
