Oh man. Yesterday, I was drawing a blank on how to share my screen and present the powerpoint slides for the board meeting I didn't want to do. I did finally figure it out - bringing up last month's first before I realized I had grabbed the wrong powerpoint. I finally got it right and got through the meeting. I just need to quit complaining. It wasn't that bad. I just didn't want to do it.
Why DO I complain so much? I don't think I used to do it like I do now. Is it that I'm older (and perhaps set in my ways?) and don't want to do what I don't want to do? I like things orderly and in place - and I got moved out of my comfort zone with board meetings and forced to do something I don't want to do? Ah... get over it, right?
This morning I get to meet my favorite boss for breakfast. In fact, I should be getting ready now - I need to leave in about 30-40 minutes. And here I sit in my pajamas. LOL This one guy cracks me up when he walks by - he wears a sleeveless button down shirt and a cowboy hat as he walks his dog (a tiny one), and is looking at his phone as he walks. Every single morning about this time. Sigh. I should get my butt out there walking.
Tomorrow our Needles of Hope group will be coming here for breakfast and distributing yarn that was donated. A lot of times I just take all that is left over so I figured that if a lot was distributed, and few come here, I should get a lot of yarn, right? I haven't bought yarn for awhile - haven't needed to. With the baby blankets I make to donate, I just use the colors that I've got on hand. I did go through my yarn area yesterday and cleaned it up somewhat. Today will be a little busy. I meet with my boss, I need to swing by and pick up my combo box, and then I have to work.... after dinner we will run over to where a great granddaughter is having rehearsal for a dance recital. The recital is tomorrow and I don't see that we will have time to go with Needles here until at least 12PM. The rehearsal is at 1PM. I wonder how far it is from here - I should check. We may have time to do it tomorrow. Or go to the rehearsal and not worry about it. I offered the breakfast here before I knew about the recital - and it wasn't until Jailbreak that I found out about that!
Hubby and I have been looking at airbnbs to see if we can find a place to go. I still would prefer just staying in town, but he really wants to go where it is cooler. We haven't agreed on anything yet. Usually he looks and finds something, and has done a good job of it. But I think he is including me so that I can pay for it this year. Makes one wonder 'what has changed' - right? I know he has been saving money for emergencies, but it seems that I am the one who pays for the emergency... but that's another story.
My youngest and three others will be heading out on a 3 week or so 'vacation' tomorrow morning. Looks like I will be doing a lot of praying for safety. It is an awfully long trip mile-wise that he is planning, but I am glad he is getting away to do what he wants to do. And with people he loves. He DID offer to take just me straight to Indiana and back, but of course I had to decline..... hubby would never let me go alone .... and I'll leave that right there.
And with that - it's nearly 7AM and I need yet to get dressed, put makeup on (don't want to scare my boss) and sign on the work computer for alittle bit. Stay tuned - I SHOULD have some time to write in the morning, though not much, as I will be cooking in the morning. I was going to make some pumpkin scones I had found a recipe for last night but talked myself out of it. Hubby and his friend didn't meet last night so he was home - so I told him since he always bought his dinner - he can take me out and buy mine. After that - just came back and read. :-) Perfect thing to do.
Gotta run - have an amazing day!
Blessings!
