Feeling a bit frustrated.... with addendum added....

Addendum:  Talked with my daughter this afternoon.... the social worker for the nephew had called her as he said he wasn't allowed to (he was asked to discuss work with the SIL only, not the daughter, and not to come over to the house if the SIL wasn't home (he was a whiney butt with the daughter)).  Anyway - the social worker said THEY would give him a ride home.  So the plan right now is my daughter will take the nephew's dog over to his apt tomorrow morning and put the key in a lockbox - and she would text him the number to pull the key out.  That eliminates me having to go pick him up (thank you, Jesus, for answering my prayer!!).  Will see if he calls me.

I'm tired this morning.  I went to bed around 9:30PM, which is a little late for me during the week.  We had been watching the DVD of 'The Chosen', but it was getting late and hubby kept falling asleep in his chair.  So I turned it off and we went to bed.  Not too sure how I feel about the DVD.  My sister had insisted I buy it because it was such a good movie.  I understand it is a TV show or something like that - that is supposed to be pretty popular.  What I had bought was season 1.  I'm not sure I like it.  It was hard to follow, and it, like the movie Rona Barrett and her husband put out a few years back (I forget what it was called), left me feeling frustrated in that it shared scenes that came from the imagination.  Not saying it could not have happened, but because I haven't read it in the Bible, it frustrated me.  For example, it has Matthew, the tax collector, spying on Simon Peter as he is out fishing because Simon supposedly had made a deal with the Roman ruler Quintus that he would turn in those fishermen who went fishing on the Sabbat (Sunday) so they didn't have to pay taxes on it.  Sabbat was a day of rest for the Jews.  They shouldn't be out fishing, and anything they got, they didn't pay taxes on it.  It was just odd.  I didn't like it.  I didn't like Rona Barrett's version of the life of Jesus, nor do I care for this one.  If it isn't told exactly like it is in the Bible, I really struggle with it.  In fact, the only video I have found that I love to watch is the one called 'Matthew'.  It is starring Bruce Marsciano and it is word for word from the NIV version of the Bible.  I have read how the movie was created and covered in prayer, I've read the struggles of the actors, I've read all about that movie, and I love it.  I heard they did one on John later but I haven't bought it.  Yet.  It's been a few years and the man who directed and paid for it all has died, I think.  They also did one on the book of Acts.  But Matthew is my favorite.

Anyway - I went to bed around 9:30PM and was wide awake at 2:00-ishAM.  Not sure what woke me up, but it was one of those wide awake times.  I go through my routine and try to go to sleep.  It's 2:30AM and I'm still wide awake.  I'm starting to toss and turn, and finally fall asleep only to wake back up.  It was not a restful night and I finally got up a little after 4AM.  I would have liked to take a nap in my chair this morning, but that wasn't happening either.

But even with all that, my frustration does not come from that source.  It's from family issues and I just erased the three long paragraphs I had written.  Erased intentionally because I was just getting my frustration out. I don't need to put all that in here.

Here is the story in a few short words.  Nephew in behavioral health facility and gets out on Wednesday.  Youngest son in another behavioral health facility and gets out Thursday so can't pick up nephew.  Daughter and family has COVID (she lost her sense of smell and taste recently) and are quarantined so can't pick nephew up.  IF he calls me, I get to pick him up - which has now irritated hubby because we are getting pulled into this.  And I keep asking myself, "What would Jesus do?"

Yeah.  I don't mind helping, I really don't.  And in fact, I think I'm more angry/frustrated over the youngest son than I am over the possibility of being asked to pick up the nephew (for which I will have to take off work unless he can't wait until after 4PM), take him to my daughter's to get the key and his dog, and then a drive over to the area around Paradise Valley Mall to take him to his condo.   Hubby is very upset... and so then he and I get into it because I want to do our part... and there is no valid reason we can't help out.   The nephew may UBER, I don't know.  He hasn't called yet so will see if he does.  I think he is 'afraid' of me somewhat because I get on his case and tell him to straighten up.  He cried (literally) to my daughter one day that 'your mom came down hard on me last night'.  LOL  Seriously.  He hasn't really gotten much yet....  I've given my sister an earful about her son though!  She doesn't want him back.

If I get the phone call, I will pick him up and take him where he needs to go.  It isn't my job to judge him.  I am trying to look on the positive side that the nephew may get better now that he has been put on what he needs to be on.  He has failed on his part of the bargain in helping my son-in-law who has gone out on a limb for him.  One thing that I can't figure out..... and I said I would contact our BH director and ask if it could happen... and haven't as I want to see if there is paperwork and doctor appointments... the nephew told the youngest son that he has been diagnosed with third stage kidney failure, and that he needs to drink more water.  This he told after being in the BH facility for 2 days.  1) he doesn't drink water at all.  He drinks soda all day, and beer, and JD.  But what confuses me, is how can they determine 3rd stage kidney failure from a blood test.  It takes forever to get test results normally - or even to get tested - in two days in a behavioral health facility he gets medical treatment and tested and results back?  I will not believe it until I see paperwork.  I can imagine they told him to start drinking water instead of so much soda or he will get kidney failure.... and the 4th degree is dialysis.  I just don't know.

Ok.... more erasures.  This isn't going well.   I've got to get my mind on straight and quit being angry at the situation and feeling helpless and frustrated.  I want to help my nephew get his life together.  I want him to make good on his promises.

Just like I depend on God to help me, and others at times, to help me.  I need to help.  That's what Jesus would do.

Help me, Lord, in my frustration, that I do not sin.
