Things firmed up

My friend text'd me yesterday and told me how grateful she was that I was coming to her lunch gathering and speaking to her Bible study group.  (so much for flip flopping)  I responded and casually asked about how many women had she invited.  Are you ready for this?  30.  Of which 17 have positively confirmed and others may still come.  GASP!  Most Bible Study groups are 8-10 people!  I think she has invited others. She also stated that she has reserved a 'private' room inside the restaurant so that we all can sit together and there I can share.  ANOTHER GASP!  I still haven't anything to speak on and it is already Wednesday!  But, I have committed and the next two nights will be committed to getting something prepared.  I love my fresh-brewed life book and may work something up from that.  I asked what she would like me to speak on and she said anything to uplift the women.  Lord, HELP!!  Who am I to uplift women with anything?

I'm still also trying to make up my mind about something.  I have a few duplicate books - you know, when I buy several copies to give away.... the problem is, I haven't written down to whom I have given what to - and now I have a few books I don't know who to give to.  I've kept an extra copy should I find someone, but I pulled out a few books and thought that maybe I would wrap them and give them away at the luncheon,  Still thinking on that one.  It WOULD give me more space on my bookcase. LOL

It was another busy day at work yesterday and I see I already have about 13 emails this morning.  Oh well.  It's all part of the job, right?  It would be nice to have nothing to do so that I could focus on an outline of what to talk about Saturday.  'It is what it is', right?  It's my own fault for not preparing sooner. But, I also do some of the 'best stuff' after I procrastinate.  In my opinion, anyway.

Hubby called the doctor's office yesterday but did not get a call back.  We have discussed his medical issue and he is going to start the shots now, rather than waiting until September.  It is the only logical response.  Need to keep it from going in to the bones.  A doctor friend text'd me yesterday whom I had mentioned it to, and asked about him yesterday and said he was in their prayers.  My older brother also contacted me yesterday and we talked about it.  I shared both texts with hubby and I believe he felt that people really cared.  It is a tough decision to make and I'm grateful I do not have to make it.  For him or myself.  I pray I can see and know how to support hubby as he goes through this journey.

I think I can say this statement (taken from one of my books).... People would ask what I did, and I would say, "I'm a writer!" They inevitable would ask, "What do you write?" When I answered "journals," sometimes they chuckled or smirked, as though journals were less valuable somehow."  -SARK

I could also say I write a 'blog', right?  For that is what this is 'supposed' to be.  Well, it is, but many years ago - in 2011 - when I asked my son to set me up with a blog, my thoughts then were to write encouraging things occasionally that would build up people.  Instead, over the years, it has become a daily outlet for me to share personal things (knowing that it is family reading this for the most part).  Back then at the beginning I would not write every day.  Over the years I would write in it when I had a break at work.  But over the past few years, I have written daily - to the point if I am 'late' or actually miss a day, I laughingly get a text from my son.  At least one person cares if there is something to read or not!

My journals I don't write in as much anymore since instead of writing, I am typing in here.  But I do on occasion, take up a journal and write my thoughts.  Since reading this 'fresh-brewed' book, I have a desire to take up my journal writing again.  This time I try to carry my journal with me and it has become more of a thought list and a daily list of 'things. Sometimes I will write prayers in it. Sometimes I write what I need to get accomplished that day.  I don't think that is what I really want to do with it, and have laid it aside for a few days.

So what do I want for my journals?  That is a good question.  40 years ago when I first started writing in the journals it was prayers.  Then I quit for several years. Then I started. Then I quit. I started. I quit. Now when I write, I don't want to sit here in this room, I want to sit outside to where I can be truly alone with God in HIS element, and write what my thoughts are.  What I feel He reveals to me.

Oh I am not perfect by any means, nor do I want to imply that.  I am a sinner saved by God's grace.  So grateful for His grace.  He is faithful and just to forgive me, when I confess my sins to Him.  And He is also faithful and just to forgive you when you confess your sins to Him.  He is such a good, good, Father.  He knows when I fail, and when I run to Him, He gathers me in His arms of love and grace, and loves me.  No one loves us like Jesus does.  No one.

He is my Strength to get through each and every day. I think I'll just pause here and sit and listen.

Blessings!
