Yesterday was a good day. I got to La Madeline's several minutes before any one else did - and I was on time! Ok, I was 10 minutes early. But no one else arrived until about 10 after - and that was after I contacted another friend who I knew was coming and she was shopping nearby! All 6 (yep, that is all that showed up) arrived by 12:20PM and we ordered our food and settled down to eat. Food was delicious. I had a ham and bacon sandwich with a caesar salad. I didn't know what to get and it was recommended. And it was good. Even though only 6 showed up (my friend said people were calling her that it was 'too hot' to go out. I bet if they wanted to go shopping they would have gone! But six was perfect! I did my little presentation and it went over well, I think. Only one person journaled and after I answered questions and I had brought enough 'giveaway books' that each was able to have one. I ended up giving my book by Nicole Johnson, the one I have been talking about for awhile, to a woman who was getting ready to go on a trip. I was short one book for each to get and she said to let the others have as she was going on the trip. Since I have already ordered a couple more copies and they will be here Tuesday, I handed her my book. All in all, it was a good morning. My friend gave me a large 'fresh cut roses' fragrance candle as a thank you for coming out.
After hubby picked me up we just hung out in the hotel room. I had bought some pastries from LaMadelines and we nibbled on those for dinner. I was intriqued by something that was going on outside our window. There was a white car and beside the white car was a blue fold-up chair. Soon a black car pulled up a spot over. He got out a chair and he sat down. A third guy came and got a chair out of the white car and he sat down. These three men sat together, facing each other, talking (I'm guessing). This went on for over an hour, maybe two. Then one guy got up and put the chair back in the white car and headed to the hotel. Another gone left his chair and followed the first guy. The last guy stayed and sat in that chair - I kid you ot! - for at least another two hours! All by himself! Outside! He barely moved. I thought maybe he had fallen asleep, but occasionally he would twitch his hand (like he maybe was reading his phone) and wipe his brow of sweat. I kept watching. He finally left, and left the chair. When we got up this morning and I opened the blinds, that same man was in the same chair doing the same thing - at 5:20AM! One other chair was still there, but empty. The white car was still there as was the black car. Then, about 6:00, all of a sudden I hear a door slam and the guy is in the black car, the chair put away, and he drives off. I am nosey so I wonder what that was all about. He did have different clothes on. Just really interesting.
This morning we aren't sure what we are going to do. We were up early (about 5:15AM) again and slept fairly well last night. We've been sitting here reading our books and here I am. Breakfast starts at 6:30AM and we thought we'd go down and see what they had. Yesterday's breakfast was good, but cool. We may just grab coffee and juice and head back up here. If we do that, we'll stop at a place and have breakfast after checking out and before we head over to the shopping center. Hmmm. I wonder what time the stores open there. It was hubby's idea last night - he said that after we eat breakfast, we could go over to the outdoor mall and walk around. It's a huge shopping area and it has a lot of stores. I need to get dressed yet, and need to finish here, before we do anything. At least the get dressed part. Hot coffee sure does sound good right now. And it was good yesterday.
Hubby also mentioned going to the fitness center downstairs. I would have done it yesterday, but this morning not so much. We have to check out by 11AM and if we decide to go out for breakfast, will just shower and get dressed and head out.
It was nice to get away, even though we sat in the room last night and did some reading. I finished one book, and hubby did as well. I needed the break from the house - and even with staying in this room, I have sat by the large window and can see out all over the neighborhood, so it was almost like I was not enclosed. Hubby doesn't like to walk far so I kind of doubt we will walk the 'mall' - after all, it will get hot quickly.
Sorry this is just rambling but I got to get up and get dressed and head downstairs. We may just come back and read some more, then head on home. Shouldn't have much traffic heading back, being Sunday morning.
Hope you have a good day
Blessings!
