well, maybe not 'sweet', but short. I am discovering that because I am allowing myself to wake up more 'on my own' versus an alarm, I am losing a good half hour, and sometimes longer, in my time in here. And for some people that is nothing, but for me, it's a large amount of time. Seriously. I have to make a decision. Do I read some in this book or that one, do I skip? And, of course, the big question - do I skip writing in here every day. This does take time, for I think about what I'm writing (yes, even when I'm rambling, for I need to make sure I ramble right). Depending on what my topic ends up being on (or not on), I can write in here for an hour easily. Least amount of time is probably 30 minutes and that is when I have something of value to share, and I share it, and I'm off. See how I have rambled through this entire paragraph?
I enjoy writing in here every morning. I loved it when one day I just ran out of time and I got a text from my son that I had missed writing in my blog. Things like that motivate me to continue - at least someone is reading it.
Which reminds me. Hubby was asking me about my blog and my journals last week. I answered his questions (did I write every day? I may have stretched that one by saying 'most days') and made no other comments. Yesterday I was checking his desk calendar to check his doctor's appointment for this week - and on Monday he had written.... 'Nxxx blog'. I paused. What if?
On to another subject. Work has already proven to be extremely busy this week and I am looking forward already to next week when we have a 3 day work week and off Thursday and Friday. I already have a hair appointment scheduled at noon for a trim. I have an idea too, that I will need to think on more. Stay tuned. Will need to make a note of it for my memory isn't what it used to be. Grateful my male boss has currently blocked 7/2 - 7/8 out on his calendar - which means he won't be giving me work. Although he told me yesterday he may cancel 7/2. I'm encouraging him to keep it.
I'm going through the book RESET by Bob Sorge, which is about resetting your prayer life. I've gotten lax in focused prayer time in here. Especially since I like to read in a couple books, read my Bible, and type in here. I want to get refocused, which is why I'm struggling with this blog writing and the time it takes. But I enjoy it a lot. I get to 'tell my story' of what's going on in my life. And now I am sharing a struggle. Yes, I do pray through out the day, so it isn't that I am neglecting prayer altogether. But, I don't feel I am starting my day out like I want to because I have made my shortened time (because of sleeping a bit longer) so busy. I'm working on changing that.
Spending quality time with Jesus is more important than my skipping or shortening prayers so that I have time to write in here. I've confessed my failure to stay focused and now I am eliminating some things to give me that quality time. Plus, I think I will turn my alarm back on and get up as usual at 4AM Monday - Friday. Weekends it doesn't really matter if it's 5 or 5:30AM - I have all morning as a rule, except on Sundays.
Philippians 3:13-14 (NKJV): But one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 94:18 (NKJV): If I say, "My foot slips," Your mercy, O LORD, will hold me up.
Psalm 147:11 (NKJV): The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy.
If you feel you have lost your footing over the years, call out to the LORD for mercy. Tell Him how much you rely on His help through your daily life. If you have let 'life' get in the way of spending time with Him, ask Him for forgiveness; He will surely give it when you ask with a sincere heart! Seek some quality time with Him - even if you have to start with just 5 minutes! Tell Him you are sorry you have let life get in the way of letting Him guide you. Ask Him to be LORD of your life and help you be the man or woman that He created you to be.
Just as you are. For just as He is. We surrender. He forgives. He releases mercy that we don't deserve, and grace that covers all our sins. Hallelujah!
Blessings!
