The weekend is here....

And starting around 9AM we will be busy for a few hours.  I scheduled a 10AM massage, hubby has an 11AM massage... and while he is getting his, I will be meeting a friend at a restaurant close by for lunch.  It's closer to her and we love to meet and catch up.  After lunch I'll pick up hubby and then I got to head to Michael's.... ran out of the yarn I need to finish up the afghan.  It is really looking nice, in spite of my mistakes.  I'm almost 3/4 of the way done - I think another skein of yarn of the two colors will finish it and I'm so excited.  I will probably also go ahead and pick up yarn for another one.  It would be nice if I could get all three of my bosses an afghan completed, but I'm not going to stress over it.  If I can get two done, that would be amazing.

My sister decided she wanted to make one for her granddaughter.  Red and Black, she said.  I warned her about the black.  Oh My Goodness.  Crochet may not be so hard, but when I knitted my very first item and it was in black yarn .... let's just say it started out maybe 3 foot across, but by the time I finished, it was probably 5 foot across.  Yeah, it was a mess.  But, I had slaved for months over this for him and it was my very first project and I really didn't know what I was doing.... and he loved it in spite of all the mistakes and the size of it.  It's pathetic and I'm grateful he loves it still.  My daughter, on the other hand, makes fun of it on occasion.  I suggested I'd make him another one, but if I do, it takes away from the love and prayers I poured into that one.  I don't knit much... but am knitting a red and white stripped afghan on Sundays while watching the church services on TV.  I've still made mistakes on it, and they are noticeable, but will go back and fix those when I'm done.  It's about 1/2 way, I think.  Not sure what I'll do with it once I get it done.  Originally it was for a boss, but nah, she ain't getting it.

I discovered recently that if I take an ibuprofen before I go to bed I sleep sound and last night was no exception.  I did not get up until about 6:15AM I think it was.  I was tired last night, my toe was hurting, and I hoped that by taking one I wouldn't wake up at my usual 4AM.  I was right.  It felt good to get a little extra sleep, but it has taken away some of my quiet time this morning.  But hubby is now up and taking care of the dog and will stay out until I get done, which will be soon.  And.... there's Sheeba at my door looking for me!

This afternoon we plan to go to my daughter and son-in-law's new house and do a walk through with them.  I think they signed the papers yesterday afternoon.  They are having it cleaned before they start moving some things in, and will be starting on doing some repairs as they do.  I'm happy for them.  It's been many years since they have purchased a house and now they can settle in and fix it up the way they want.  Just like we have been able to do on Paradise Drive and now here.

It's November and time for us to be prepared for speaking during the next few months at the RV parks.  I am scheduled on November 15th at one of the RV parks and hubby has an engagement a couple weeks later at the other, I think.  I need to look at the calendar for I think I have one a month, ending in April.  I've gotten started on this one, and I have one week to complete it now.  My message title this next Sunday will be "I need a hug".  And I'm at that stage and I'm sure many others are too.

Taking it from Philippians 1:1-11, Paul is in jail and he's still finding a way to be joyful.  Kind of like where we are right now.  We are in 'jail' with the coronavirus, and yet, MOST of us still find a way to be joyful.  Well, at least part of the time.  Still do not like the restrictions with the mask, but I will be obedient to what we are told to do while we are out.  For some reason, some of the masks make my nose itch every time I wear it.  Drives me crazy.

Even though hubby drives me crazy most of the time, he knows I value my morning time alone and usually makes sure no one disturbs me.  He just got up, fixed my coffee for me as usual, and because it was about 3 hours later than he usually gets up, it was time to also take Sheeba out.  So he got dressed, took her out for her business, and now I hear him out on the front court with her.  He will wait to do his quiet time later.  I do appreciate being left alone and not having to get up to take care of Sheeba (which has happened a few times) so that he could do what he wanted.  I don't mind taking care of her.  But it is nice I don't have to this morning.  And yes, I will tell him I appreciate it.

Worked on wrapping some gifts last night that I've gotten in - and realize I really haven't gotten that much yet - but have dozens of big boxes that would make anyone thing I have.  It's the Amazon way.  I could not believe it the other day I had two boxes of peanuts arrive in a HUGE box with packing all around it.  And what is really funny - is one of the boxes of nuts looked like it had been stepped on.  I need to tear down some of these boxes today unless the daughter will need for packing.

For today, even with our restrictions for the coronavirus, take time to be happy.  Make an effort to smile more.  Be kind.  Love each other.  Do something special for someone when they don't expect it.  Fix a meal just because you care.  Be creative.  Bless someone today.  Give someone your attention.  Share your time with someone.  Go for a walk (our weather is getting cooler - yay!).  Continue to pray for our country.  It's going to be changing into something you never thought it would.  It definitely needs prayer.

Find JOY in today.

Blessings!
