A few things to share....

But I don't have time to share them all today.... unfortunately, I will probably also forget some of them.  But for today, it's about me.  Ok, a little bit is.  My visit to the podiatrist is on my mind.  Or is it on my toe?  My big toe, in fact.

Yes, I finally got to the podiatrist yesterday.  They did x-rays and I waited in the room to be 'seen'.  I chatted with the person who came in to go through the usual questions, and I mentioned I had photos of what my toe/foot had looked like bruised.  She had me email them to the office so that they could print and put in my folder.  Interesting.  Hadn't had anyone care enough about that before.  Usually they would look at my phone and go...oh.. hmmm.

When the doctor came in, he asked me about another doctor that we both had acquaintance with.  This doctor, Dr. Krauss, had delivered two of my grandchildren before retiring.  And, he had also delivered two of Dr. Lowy's children.  (Dr. Lowy is my podiatrist).  I've worked with Dr. Krauss for years in an administrative field since he retired from obstetrics and delivering babies.    We chatted for a bit, he looked at the photos that had been printed, checked the x-rays.... and gave me the news.

My big toe is fractured (stress fracture?  I don't recall if he called them that) in TWO places.  Now my big toe is not that big - how in the world did I fracture it in two places?  He said it was very good that neither fracture was in a joint or I could have a lot of arthritis in it.  However, each fracture is between the joints.  Like our fingers have the two joints, so does our big toe.  Never really thought about it until I saw the x-ray.  Anyway, between each one, is a fracture.  Not a big one, just enough to have separated to be seen two and a half weeks after my initial injury.   They hadn't separated when the original x-rays were taken by the urgent care.  They haven't separated far, which is a good thing.  But has separated, which is why I still have a lot of pain in my toe and shoes are hard to wear.  Another good thing is that they are still even, tho separated.  So, Dr. Lowy wrapped it (he called it a splint) in a gauze, and tape, to hold it straight.  Not a lot, just enough to keep it in place.  Told me where to buy some cream when it hurts.... and what to buy... says this stuff is amazing and he and his wife use it a lot for back pain and other pains.  So last night we went to the drug store, got the cream, and the bandages he suggested I get.  Also, he said to take ibuprofen for the pain.  I'm a tough gal...I rarely take medication I don't have to.  But I tell you what... I took one before bed last night cause moving that toe around made it painful... and I slept sound all night.

So there you have it.  I know you were just waiting to hear how all that came about, weren't you?!  The only BAD part of it all.... Dr. Lowy commented that at 'our' age (as he is probably around my age) it does take longer for healing of the bones, and it could take six months for my toe to completely heal.  Well,  that wasn't really what I wanted to hear.  But, it is what it is.

And it's comments like that, and sometimes the difficulty in doing things that I used to do frequently, reminds me more and more that I am getting older.  This pandemic hasn't helped at all for I sit more than I ever have.  And that depresses me.  But what else can we do?  At least with the holidays coming I will be busy wrapping, shopping (ok online shopping doesn't count) and making/baking things.  My 2nd bedroom is full of Amazon boxes already.  And I'm getting behind in my wrapping.

I have to drive to Mesa today and go in to the office.  My boss is going to meet me there around 9AM so that we can catch up and go over some work things.  Someone from our Tucson office who is in charge of our move to the Phoenix Corporate office is coming up and we will be going around and tagging equipment that will need to go to the Phoenix Corporate office.  Then, we are being allowed to go to Phoenix and tour the new offices.  Part of me doesn't want to go.  I really don't like going where I don't know where I'm going - as in there are several parking garages and I have to figure out which one and what area I can park in.   I may see if I have hitch a ride with my boss and have her drop me off at the Mesa office after.  But then, if I do drive, I can just drive on home.  Catch 22.  Let someone else drive so that I can observe where I'm going and not watching the car in front of me to make sure I'm going to the right place... and go straight home.... or drive all the way from Mesa.  Oh well, no biggie either way.  Got to put my 'big girl panties' on sometimes and just do it.

I've decided not to stress about the election.   Look up War Room Pandemic and you will see the truth of what is going on.  I've read there will be three weeks after the election in which there will be great stress and turmoil, lies and cheating......  three weeks of sorting things out and making them right.... and three weeks more of things calming down.   That puts us in to January.   Lord, what are You going to do?  My worrying and being upset and fearful isn't going to change anything.  But my prayers, along with many others, will.  So I choose to pray for our country, our president, and the outcome of this election.   Winning by deceit is not winning.  Pray for our country, our president.  This election will affect our children, our grandchildren, our great grandchildren.   They are who keep me motivated to pray.  I want a good life for them, not one of bondage and taxation.

Pray without ceasing.  Whenever you think about an issue, ask God to take care of it.  When a thought comes to mind that causes you concern, ask God to remove that concern.  That is praying without ceasing.

It's actually easy to do.  I get stuck on a computer issue, I always pray, 'God, you got to help me with this cause I don't know how to do this.' or 'Father, help me, I'm confused and not sure what to do.  Please direct my path'.  Or even, 'Lord, this election was put in Your hands.  I don't know what You are doing but I know that You are involved in this.  Whatever the outcome, You are still God and still on Your throne.  Take over, Lord, ease my troubled mind and heart. '  And don't forget to thank Him for all that He does.

He awakens you in the mornings.  He provides for all your needs.  He loves you.  Sometimes we need to remember who is in control.

Blessings!
