I lost it last night....

No, I didn't 'lose' my temper or anything like that.  I lost some time.  Say what?  Yeah.... I don't know how I did it, but after hubby left for his meeting last night, my eye got caught on a movie reel on my phone... I don't know how long I sat there watching it - until it said 'now go to comments and click for the 2nd part' - and then I realized what I had done!  Do you do that too? You get caught up in one of the AI reels and next thing you know, your mind comes back and it's like - what did I just spend my time on?! I didn't go to the 2nd part. I put my phone away.  Ate ice cream and a bean burrito for dinner.  Don't ask me about that combination; it was like I couldn't decide what to do in my 'own time'.  I tore apart two crochet pieces that I had began and rolled them back up in a ball. I finally turned on the TV to watch a movie on Up Faith & Family and was watching it, and crocheting again, when hubby came home.  I feel like I wasted an entire evening and I'm not even sure how I did that.  So then I get angry at myself for that was MY evening. Does that make sense?  I didn't get much sleep last night for that stupid reel kept running through my mind.  See - it even wasted my sleep!

My son's birthday stuff came in two deliveries so didn't get it to the DILove.  I have it all in a bag now, but haven't decided whether to run it up to her or hold on to it until I see him again.  Decisions, decisions.

I'm hoping for an update today on his tests yesterday and status.  I am sure he is waiting for some news to share as well and besides having a meeting last night, that is part of the delay in sharing.  I continue to pray and watch how God answers.

I was sitting here thinking this morning that of our Life Group that we belong to (church), there are four couples.  Our leaders do a lot of traveling. And they are fine, their family is fine.  The other two couples and us, well, we don't do much traveling.  Well, one did go somewhere to meet their granddaughters' boyfriend/fiancé.  But, what I am getting at..... P & C have a 17 year old grandson who has just been diagnosed with brain cancer. They are devastated.  B & C have a 20+ year old daughter who has several medical issues and has now started chemo after several hospital visits. They take care of their 5 year old granddaughter as well.  And us, we have our oldest son with liver issues and needs a transplant.  Who do you think is praying the most?  It is us three couples who pray for our family and for each other's family. It's not an odd thing; it's just what we do.  My heart goes out to P&C and B&C and I have tried to keep in touch periodically to see how they are doing.  Life is hard sometimes; life isn't fair at times.  I just find it interesting that us three couples each have a family member with a serious condition.  Could it be that God brought us together for 'such a time as this'?  We are to encourage each other as we walk through these journeys?  We are never alone when we have God with us.

I overslept this morning until nearly 5a so trying to get my things done; haven't done all my reading this morning yet. Probably won't have time to. It's ok; God isn't going to strike me dead because I haven't read a devotional yet.  I did read my Bible and spend time in prayer; that is first, so I'm good if I don't do anything else.  BUT - you know I have to give you something to read, right?  I can remember when I only did this on a periodic basis; why and when did I start feeling I needed to write in here every day?

My list on the wall isn't going down very fast.  Do you think I need to break things down more?  Like instead of clean out chest of drawers to put clean out top drawer?  Would that make the task seem less daunting?  I do have two or three things marked off; I had to write things down for I forget what I want to do.  And it is a reminder I need to do them.  I have too much 'stuff' and I do need to let go of it.  I need to add 'clean up this room' since my daughter & SIL will be here October 2nd.  Instead of one night, they will be staying four nights and then will head back home.  They won't be here all the time; I know they will be at their daughter's - it starts over the weekend.... that Monday I have to work, and their daughter will be teaching school.  Oh well, I need to get a list for my SIL to fix things around here. I do want him to pull out plants in the courtyard and get rid of them for me. I wonder if he would want to.  I don't know if he will stay here that long.... hubby tends to 'hang' on him when he's here - not to help, but just to talk.... and the SIL is like my oldest; leave him alone and let him do his thing.  My daughter has to distract hubby so her husband can get things done.  Me, well, I gotta work, right? LOL

Titus 2:2 (ESV):  Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness.

That is the verse that popped up today.  I was going to type out one about Jesus always being with us, but saw this and decided to just use it.  Why?  I don't know. I guess because I am older, and therefore hubby is older, and my sons could be considered 'older men'.  Hubby is doing a lot better than he was even five years ago.  Seriously. He knows he 'blew it' all those years.  I am not a morning person, never have been. I have always said that only God can stand me this early in the morning.  But hubby will walk in with my coffee each morning and a 'Good morning!" and then pause to ask how I slept, etc.  And I sit here thinking "would you please just give me the coffee and leave without saying a word?"  I just think it!  But I do try to be nice and respond.... although sometimes my snippiness comes out and then he immediately reacts to it and storms out.  Not that I intend to be snippy or snarky, but daggone it; I am not perky this early in the morning (unless I'm with my kids or grandkids... uh..... why is that?)  This is MY time alone with God; I don't need some perky person coming in and annoying me.  I mean interrupting me.  Right?  One of my many faults.  I tell myself to be kind.  This 24x7 is tough, I'm telling you!

And if I stop right now, I do have time to read my devotional for today so think I will stop.  Today is another work day; nothing going on, I don't think. Hubby has his workout this afternoon.  My next one is tomorrow. Oh, and I messed up - got my schedule confused.  We ended up doing legs yesterday.  I tried to 'disagree' with Morgan and tell her it was upper body, but she showed me on her calendar that she keeps.  Upper Body (shoulders, chest, back, biceps/triceps - one area each time we do upper body), legs, core, HIIT.  Now I can't remember for sure.  Anyway - I know yesterday was legs, and Morgan said Thursday will be upper body.  So that leaves core and HIIT for next week.  I still get it confused.

Have an amazing day - do something unusual - and fun!

Blessings!

I think your verse today was for me. With getting sober, this other parts are slowly aligning back into place, and not having read any thing other than the verse, it really clicks with me. So itis written out and up on my computer with my other verses.
