Back to the diamond art....

My daughter came over last night and we baked goodies.  My daughter baked a new recipe for butterscotch cookies - and oh they were so good!  Well, I didn't have a cookie, but I did try some of the crumbs that fell while I was taking them out of the pan.  They are a bar cookie.

I made two things, one was the peach muffins that hubby likes so well.  I think I need to buy a batch of peaches and cut up and freeze in 1 cup increments so that I can make them when peaches are not available.  Did a batch of those, then made 4 small loaves of strawberry bread.  Those went in the freezer for Christmas or other giveaways.  We talked about doing something else on Tuesday nights - girls night out - and my daughter made the comment about diamond art.  Well, I 'just happened' to have a couple that hadn't been completed yet.  So starting next week, we will begin our work on the diamond art pieces.  We can still bake a batch of something if needed, but it is difficult for both of us to bake something with having only one oven. And a small kitchen.  But it's been fun.

It's Wednesday and work hasn't been going too bad.  Yesterday I was all over powerpoint - not to learn it, but to figure out how to get the board meeting deck completed.  I'm stuck on the agenda - I can't type over it in PPT and I don't know why.  I really do need to take advantage of my male boss being gone and learn the basics of PPT.  That's my ARC goal for the rest of this year - and that is what my raise next year will be based on.  Really, I don't care... but I do like to be the 'best' at what I do. :-)

Tonight hubby and I will be heading to church about 6:30PM for a new group class studying Revelation.  I've watched the trailer, but I don't think hubby has; will have to ask him.  It doesn't share much, but to stay in the loop.... I think we paid for books too, but I'm not sure what.  Hubby signed us up... as a couple... in a couple group... which is ok... only we were to sign up as individuals so am not sure how that is going to work.  I'm sure it is fine, but sometimes we need to 'read' the entire form before hitting send. It was at the bottom, and I could have made the same mistake.  Of course with him, we ALWAYS have to be put in as a couple.... and some of you will understand that statement.

I wasn't too tired last night when I went to bed; awoke at 2:45AM for an unknown reason; went back to sleep and could not wake up and would not get up until 4:45AM.  So, yeah, I'm running behind schedule - as usual.  I have really been sleeping deep the past couple of days - could it be that the weather is cooler so I'm sleeping better?

Tomorrow morning I have a 7AM training appointment with Morgan so may not get to this until I return.  It's a core workout - and working on my core helps me to stay upright and balanced.  We did legs on Monday night - and my legs were shaking by the time we were done!  THEN I decided I was going to start doing 50 squats a day to strengthen my legs.... and by last night my legs were sore and this morning they are really sore.  My thighs mainly.  But.... if it helps strengthen the legs, it is better to do it while I can and not when I don't have strength in my legs, right?  It's tough to get healthy when you are sick; it's much easier to build on the health you have to keep it strong.

Isaiah 43:11-12 (NIV):  I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior. I have revealed and saved and proclaimed - I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses", declares the Lord, "that I am God.

Have you ever stopped to realize that there really is only ONE God?  There is only ONE Savior.  There is only ONE Holy Spirit.  So many people worship so many other things that have no value.  They worship money, they worship their jobs, they worship their children, they worship 'things'.... you get the picture.  But all that can be gone in a second.  Only our God, our Lord and Savior, are real.  Only they will never leave us nor forsake us - no matter what we are going through.

I was reading this morning about the manifestation of the God, of the Holy Spirit.  Have you ever felt His Presence in such a way that you know that you know that you know????  I have, and there is nothing like it.  That is one reason why I love getting away by myself and spending time with God.  His Presence is so calming and so loving and so amazing.  You are filled with such peace and such joy, that you never want to leave that place.  I've been blessed to experience His Presence many times, alone and with others.  But I've also been with others who are saying the Presence of the Lord is all around us - and I feel nothing.  At those times I have to wonder if I have sinned against God that He is not allowing me to feel His Presence.  But it isn't always true... sometimes people experience His Presence in different ways.  But in His Presence is where you want to be, trust me.

There is nothing like it.  I've experienced Him in church; I've experienced Him at work, I've experienced him at home, I've experienced Him in the hermitage.  I love to be in God's Presence and just 'be'.  All I can do at those times is worship the One who is, who was, and who is to come.  You wonder why I long for hours I can just be with God?  This is why.  Time stands still.  Being in His Presence is the best 'present' of all.

He is the Lord, God Almighty, and only He is worthy to be praised, honored, and adored.  Why not spend a few minutes (at least) just sitting before Him and let Him refresh you, restore you, and make you whole again.

Blessings!
