Another restless night

After two nights of sleeping fairly well, I thought, I had another night of restlessness.  From around 11PM through to 4-ish AM I dozed lightly, if at all.  I tossed and turned, refusing to get up and longing to fall into a sleep deep enough that my mind would shut off and go to sleep.  I was fine when I went to bed; nothing specific was on my mind.  Why was I tossing and turning?  I finally got up about 4:15AM and struggled into this room; my chair ready for me to fall into.  I closed my eyes, and finally dozed deeply, I think, for a short while.  Waking, I picked up my Bible and started reading.

But even then, the song and the words that kept playing in my mind during the night, came back to me as I woke up, making it difficult to focus.  I prayed over each of my children and their families, and even my siblings most of the night while trying to sleep.  Was that what was keeping my mind from shutting the song out and going to sleep?  Even when I was on my knees praying this morning, this song kept running through my mind.  I ask God, what is it?  Why is this song going through my mind so much?  The song?

Actually, I guess there are two songs that have been running through my mind.  See if you can locate on whatever you listen music on and listen to the entire song.  Not going to write out all the lyrics, but just the verses that kept running through my mind.  Don't know when I heard these songs last - at least a few days ago - which makes it interesting that they are all I could think about during the wee hours of the morning.

So then I had to pray that the 'dead things' come to life in my husband, my children, grandchildren; that what once lived in them, come back to life.  I prayed that the 'dead' in me would come back to life. The emotions and passion that I have buried for various reasons and various things - that I, too, come back to life and live life abundantly.

Can you even imagine laying there in bed and the words 'dead things come to life' keep flying through your mind?  What were those thoughts trying to tell me?  I don't know - but I sure have done a lot of praying all night and this morning!  And I have been praying for you.  That the dead in you will come back to life, and that you also will live life abundantly.

I pray that finances come back to life.  I pray that health comes back to life. I pray that marriages come back to life. I pray for joy, for passion, for peace - and so much more - to come back to life.

And we can only come back to life through Jesus Christ our Savior; our Lord.  He is the only way to the Father.  Jesus is our Advocate for the things that trouble us, no matter what it is.  Dead things - even emotions, can come back to life once again.  Let it happen.

Tonight our church is starting a group study at the church on the book of Revelations.  We signed up to attend.  We want to meet others, and we want to make friends, and we want to learn.  We both have studied the book of Revelations, but there is always something to learn.  So for the next several Wednesday evenings, we will be there at church, learning more.  Why not grab your Bible and start reading Revelations and follow along?  If I don't forget, maybe I can share each week what we discuss. I imagine tonight will be just the introduction, pass out any books, etc.  Will see how it goes.

Never quit learning.  Keep asking questions.  Dig deeper.  Seek answers.  Find out who you are. And find out who Jesus is.

Blessings!
