when I woke before midnight that today was Saturday, and I could sleep a little later if I wanted to. Yay me. And I did. Hubby woke me at 2AM with tossing and turning - but I finally went back to sleep and slept until 6AM. So, yes, that makes me 'running late' this morning on getting things done and out of here. Usually on Saturday I can stay in here until at least 9AM - but I have Needles of Hope this morning and I need to get out of here and be with friends - and breathe! OMGoodness! You have no idea of what I have to go through some days! I have a calendar on the refrigerator that I put (most if not all) my personal appointments. I say (most if not all) because I did not put my hair appointment on there. I am letting it be a 'surprise' - because if he knows I'm going there, I will get all kinds of questions and comments about how short, etc. Anyway - I have on there it is my oldest son's birthday. I have Needles on there. I have Ms. Diane on there. And I have the great grandson's birthday party on there. Last night he was reviewing my calendar with me and what is planned, and he asked the timetable for all of it. Now mind you, I still have to put in there the hour I will be at the hair salon. I finally told him "You manage my calendar much more than I do!" And he finally quit with the questions.
Why does he do that? And he wonders why I don't willingly relinquish information about all the little things I plan to do. Give me some breathing room! I was going to say I had to shop for the boys, but their gifts came in yesterday from Amazon. He knows I took my son's gift up to the DIL last night. I feel like my every move is monitored at times - and I can't breathe without him knowing it. Does that make sense? It is probably time he and I will sit down and have a chat about giving me space to breathe. We've had to do this before. He doesn't have a life beyond his two bible studies anymore so I have become his life. Like I do anything other than work - except today. Oh well. Suck it up, buttercup!
I did make it over to Sonora Quest to get my labs done yesterday. I will admit I'm a bit anxious about the A1c as diabetes runs in my family, and I love carbs and sweets. If it was just for that day, it would be fine - but it is an average of the past 3 months - or so I've been told. I haven't been real good about staying out of carbs and sweets, and the upward movement of my scales confirms that comment. Need to get back on track. I just get so discouraged at times about life.
Colossians 3:21 (NKJV): Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.
Yeah, I'm going to leave that right there. Sometimes we live with people who believe that - in our best interests - they know better than we do. They worry over us. They want to protect us. They want everything perfect for us. They go behind our backs to make sure everything is perfect. They are consumed with what we do. Or don't do. They try to live their lives through us (it seems). They want our friends to be their friends. They want to be included in every aspect of our lives. They want to suck the life out of us.
If that describes you, STOP IT!! God did not design you to monitor and control your children (or your spouse!). He designed you to love them, guide them, direct them. He did not design you to control them to your liking. And I'm stopping there. Some days ....
Don't frustrate your children, nor your spouse, and life will go well for you.
I must have really worked my forearms the other day for today they are really sore. I feel like I'm walking around like a T-Rex cause it hurts to straighten out my arms. Does that mean I worked them out good?
Today is my oldest son's birthday. He is the only child his dad and I planned for. The other two were the results of birth control pills not working. We were so excited to have a namesake for my husband. True, there have been comments about the name for them when they were younger, but it was an honor to pass on not only his dad's name, but his grandfather's name. Legacy. I probably won't see this son today as he is having his own 'party' and I'm sure he would not expect - nor want - me to pop in. He knows I love him deeply, and I will text him in a bit, just in case he got to sleep this morning. I know he has a lot of anguish within him because of the past, but it has also shaped him into the man he is. And I do love him so much.
I'm drawing a blank this morning on what to write so will shut this down and 'move on' with my day. Got to get ready soon anyway to leave. So - with that - I hope you have an amazing day and remember that besides your mama, Jesus loves you so very much - so much that He died for you.
Blessings!
