An update and other thoughts...

Friday was I wrote about my van issues - thinking it was the starter that had gone out.  It wasn't, thank You Jesus!  It was only the battery.  An easy, and less expensive fix.  Another good thing is that they also checked the starter and alternator and they were fine.  All is well and the van is operational again.  My coworker took me home and all was well.

It was a busy weekend for us.  Saturday morning we got our taxes completed - getting a little back; not as much as in the past, but some so that we can pay on some bills.  We had tentatively planned on volunteering at the church carnival on Saturday, but we didn't receive a callback for the area requested, so went ahead with our original plans of having some friends over for dinner.  This is one of my favorite things that we don't do often enough.  I fixed parmigiana chicken with homemade marinara sauce and spaghetti, salad, deviled eggs and garlic bread.  She brought macaroni salad and potato salad left over from a birthday party the night before.  I don't eat it but hubby does.  Needless to say, we ran out of room on the table for I hadn't thought ahead to add a table leaf or two.  (note to self; put leaf in table)   Everything turned out good and with vanilla ice cream for dessert, it was the perfect ending to the meal.  We had a nice evening.

Sunday of course brought church.  It was a nice surprise our ex-daughter in law brought our granddaughter and two of her friends to church.  We got to love on Hailey a little bit.  Then of course it was so cool to see our Bethany for a few minutes, and her brothers.  Our youngest grandson, David, is so funny.  When we stopped by his classroom to see him, as we often do, he was busy coloring and wouldn't come to us.  We went over to him and he would just look at me and grin and kept coloring.  Finally he stopped and handed me the picture; he said it was mine.  Of course it now has a place on our refrigerator.

After church we had a little while to relax then headed back to church for a memorial service for a dear friend.  It was a nice service and we attended the meal afterwards and visited with friends.   After we got back home and I let my food settle, I got on the treadmill and walked 'hills' for a little over 4 miles while watching 'Beauty and the Beast'.  It is one of my many favorite movies.  Plus in my room I only have movies for the kids; not any chick flicks and I was too lazy to go pick one out.  Hubby came in the room shortly after I went in there to see what I was watching.  Seeing what it was, he decided it was 'too mature' for him and went to watch his own tv shows he tapes.

I am rambling now and coworkers are coming in so need to get off here and get signed in.  It's going to be a long day, I'm sure, and definitely a busy one.   I'm praying for favor, that I can complete every thing quickly and completely.

Hope your day is productive.

Blessings!
