Someone 'gets it'!

My oldest son commented on my blog yesterday and he definitely understands what I was trying to say about receiving a reward for which I didn't feel entitled to.  I did talk with the EA yesterday and asked how I could make it right - and, bless her heart, she told me to keep it, as I had already purchased the envelopes, I did do the legwork on getting the addresses from HR on all the nurses, and I was ready and willing to meet anywhere to 'do the work'.  She said it was 'teamwork' all the way.  She had time over that weekend so went out and bought more envelopes and stuffed and dropped off at the post office.  She refused my reward.  So what I ended up doing was sending a thank you note, including my boss, to the VP and thanked her for the reward, and acknowledged that her own EA had done the majority of the work, and that it takes teamwork to get a job completed.  My boss sent me a note back that said the note was perfect.  I thanked the VP for the gift, I acknowledged her EA had done the majority of the work.  So I looked to see if there was anything for $25 that I wanted.  Nothing 'got me' yet.  This co-worker and I are good friends and we often chat and have met up once.  We also plan to meet up for lunch when she gets back from California, possibly next week.  I've even sent her Crumbl cookies before as she helped me with airlines one time that was crazy.  Maybe when we meet I can take her a small gift of appreciation. I've offered to use the $25 for something she wants, she refused. She said I do so much to help in other projects that I deserved it.  But that's not the point.  It's THIS project we got rewarded on. But I did acknowledge to the VP her EA had done most of the project (she addressed the envelopes, stuffed, and mailed them).  I'm letting it go.  I'll take her a small gift when we meet for lunch.

Tuesday night and I will get to have a little time to myself.  My daughter and hubby have flown to New Mexico this morning for a week.  No girls night out.  None next week either as they come back that Tuesday.  And the following Tuesday we are gone.  And that's ok.  I have things I have put off doing with hubby home 24x7 it seems, so it will give me a chance to start on some things.  Christmas will be here before I know it and I need to be thinking of and getting started on making things.  Still wanting/trying to cut back on spending.  There is nothing we need either.

Daggone it. My meter isn't connecting to my phone this morning. Yesterday I ended up deleting the app and reloading it to get the blue off the screen.  It brought back all that I had inputted, but today it won't take my reading. Which was 91 by the way.  Surprising, since I ate too much last night and my scale went up a pound.  sigh.  I gotta get a grip on this!  Need to read up on how to sync the meter again; perhaps that's it.

Sorry this is short, but I started late and now it's time to get on the work computer.  At least I gave you a little something to read, right?

Oh - I was awakened at 2:30AM this morning.  The youngest is in California. I figured the daughter was at home... and also thought the oldest son should be.  Don't know why, prayed for them all anyway... but I've had trouble getting back to sleep. Which is part of the reason I'm late on here; I fell asleep after my reading this morning.

Birthday 'specials' are starting to roll in on my emails.  I may use one or two, but I don't go 'crazy' with freebies like some people do.  The restaurants of course want you to come in and with your entree, get a free dessert.  They got you there, right?  And I don't need dessert.  This bod seems to be expanding lately and I gotta stop.

And I gotta get off here!  Hubby will be coming in to check on why my door isn't open soon. LOL

Have an amazing day!

Blessings!
