It was pretty much a quiet evening...

and I think I did a little bit of everything that I wanted to.  I don't normally do this and that - but last night - I started watching a movie; then I fixed myself a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner (and grabbed a couple of cookies for dessert), worked on a crochet project, read some (started a 'new' book), chatted with my little sister... and then hubby came home.  Yeah, I did a bit of everything, I think.  But it was still a good evening.

Today won't be too bad with work, I don't think.  Since my male boss didn't give me approval to send out the board meeting powerpoint deck until 4:41PM (I checked my work emails last night), they need to go out to the board members first thing this morning.  Our board meeting is at 6AM tomorrow morning.  Can't wait for the time change; it will then go to 7AM, I think.  Colorado, which is where these board members are and for what area it covers, is currently an hour ahead of us.  So the meeting is 7AM their time, causing us here to get on at 6AM.  UGH.  It interferes with my quiet time!  If I can stay awake, that is. LOL

Yesterday afternoon was kind of quiet, I think.  In fact. I took a lunch break yesterday.  I did.  I got up, sat in my chair, and took a nap.  About ten minutes. And that was enough.  Of course I heard hubby walking up and down the hall to see where I was, for he can't see me in the chair in the corner unless he actually sticks his head in the room.  And, of course, when I got up to get more water, he had to comment 'did you have a nice nap?'  I just responded 'yes I did' cause I don't (usually) comment on HIS naps - like the one he took yesterday afternoon while I was working.  LOL  Sometimes one just has to take a nap, right?  I'm getting good at 10-20 minute naps.

My favorite boss and I were going to meet for breakfast this morning, but since we met last Saturday with Dr. K and Nancy, she gave me my birthday gift then.  So, we don't have to meet today. Which is good in a way.... I lose about 3 hours when I meet with her.  I think our next one is the end of September... when I will need to get her birthday gift put together. Her birthday is October 1st.

Oh, and yes, I dozed again this morning so am running out of time to write in here.  Again.  Don't know why I'm struggling with sleep so much lately, but it needs to stop.  I want to live life, not sleep it away.

I read in one of my books this morning about our conscience.  Can you remember a time when you felt like a knife had been stuck in your gut when you had an option to do something or not?  Can you remember a time when instead of a knife, it was like someone had hit you in the gut?  And then, after awhile of those 'gut-punches', they got less and less, until your conscience doesn't bother you at all anymore.  It made me stop and think about it.  Grateful I still get 'gut-punches' sometimes when I have to make a decision and want to make the right choice.  Some call it a 'guilty conscience'... but once you do it, you deserve to feel guilty if it is the wrong choice, right?

A.W. Tozer said, "When men no longer fear God, they transgress His laws without hesitation. The fear of consequences is no deterrent when the fear of God is gone."

I Timothy 1:19 (NKJV):  Cling to your faith in Christ, and keep your conscience clear. For some people have deliberately violated their consciences; as a result, their faith has been shipwrecked.

We have an app that we have to record information in for work.  To get to a certain level, we send challenges to each other and build on those.  Some are just like 'did you read this morning?' and you answer yes or no.  Grateful I can always answer 'yes'.  But there are some that 'did you workout today?' that I will force myself to do something (jump on the rebounder, lift weights for a minute or two, so that I can say yes.  Or 'were you kind to someone today?' - well, I do put yes, cause I am kind to hubby; I don't see anyone else!  But there are some that I have had to answer 'no' to.  Now think about it; these challenges are only a week long (except the step challenges, they can be 1 day to two days to a week long - unless it is a company challenge and it's about 6 weeks).  No one sees the app and what you put in - and I will admit, there have been times (not even probably, I'm sure of it) that I clicked 'yes' on something that I ended up not doing - although I fully intended to do it.... (am I going in circles here?). Anyway, bottom line, I need, we need, to only put the 'yes' answer where it is 'yes' and 'no' where it is 'no' - regardless of the points that build up. Does any of that running around make sense?  And yes, I have changed answers to 'no' at times. But not always.  And I always feel guilty when I don't. I've started NOT accepting those challenges in which I know I won't do it - like eat 3 vegetables a day.  I do good if I eat one vegetable a day.  Right?

But if we answered 'yes' all the time and then didn't do it, our conscience would become numb to being truthful, don't you think?  We need to work on our truthfulness - regardless who it hurts.  Sometimes we have to bring to light things that perhaps no one else knows about and be honest about what happened.

An example is that my little sister was really depressed yesterday.  Something she had done when she was not a Christian - I don't even know if I know what it is - and only her 'best friend' knew about it.  Her 'best friend' died a few years ago.  Her oldest daughter latched on to my sister and (I know I've mentioned it in one of these blogs before) was great friends for a few months, and then she just turned on her and started accusing my sister of stealing things from her house when she wasn't home.  Threatening her with lawsuits if not returned (she had not taken anything).  Now she has emailed my sister with the date of whenever this thing happened (who remembers the date of when they did something they shouldn't have?) and has threatened to tell others.  And this isn't the first time that her 'best friend' has betrayed a confidence to this daughter, it seems.  Anyway - long story short, I had to remind my sister that the things we did before we were a Christian (B.C. - Before Christ) have been covered by His blood and sacrifice and we have been forgiven.  If there are consequences to be suffered, we have to deal with those (like robbing a bank), but Christ forgave us when we asked Him to, and it is the devil who is trying to bring us down and make us feel unsaved and unworthy.

I know what she is going through in a way - although I don't have a 'best friend' who shared personal information with others like this - but my sins come back to haunt me on occasion, and I have to tell the devil to go back to where he came from, that I have been forgiven, and my sins are no more.

And that is what you can do as well.  Tell the devil where to go because you are a child of God and your sins have been forgiven, no matter what they are. Well, unless they are against the Holy Spirit, those are not forgiven.  But the point is, Jesus is the great Forgiver.  Once He has forgiven you, you are forgiven. It's as though your past didn't happen.  The devil tries to make you feel guilty - don't let him!  Tell him where to go!

Keep your conscience clean before God and before man.  Then you will have nothing to regret.

Blessings!
