Struggling to find out what is going on with my new little machine. Yesterday, nor today, will it sync the glucose reading to my app - and yet, the ketones did sync last night. I've tried twice this morning for the glucose then quit. Especially since it jumped 8 points the 2nd time and I hadn't done anything! I did use a different finger - wonder if that matters. Anyway - I will go online and read how to make sure it is sync'd and then perhaps will try again - or will just let it go until this evening. Now I'm really confused. Decided to check my phone bluetooth and it is turned on, my watch is 'connected', but the bluetooth is turned off in the 'device' listing. Now I am computer/phone/anything electronic illiterate. I admit it. I get an error message that bluetooth is not 'on'. what does that mean? Where do I find 'bluetooth' device? Wifi is different from bluetooth - but where is it? I'm so confused. I'll try syncing throughout the day - maybe it is because I'm back here in my room and the first time I tested the glucose was in the kitchen? Maybe I need to take the device there and try syncing again? Oh the struggles when one has no clue what is goingD on! Oh well - moving on.
Yesterday was another busy day with work. Reviewing my log I keep of meetings I create for different ones, I found one I thought I had missed from last week - and he wanted the meeting prior to 2/3. Yipes. I thought I really had screwed up - so I quickly found 4PM open for yesterday - although I try to avoid Friday afternoon meetings - and sent the invite - and a note to my male boss with apologies that I missed it and this is when I scheduled it. He sent me a note back I hadn't missed it - I had scheduled it the day he had requested it - and he cancelled the meeting. Whew. It just means I forgot to write that in my log that the meeting had been scheduled. I still have numerous meetings to schedule and will be busy on Monday. We have a new employee starting on Monday and I have several 'meet and greet' via Teams that I need to get scheduled for him. I think I have the meetings he needs to do right away completed, but I still have numerous meetings to get scheduled ahead. Along with everything else I need to do.
I have Needles of Hope this morning and yes, I am going! I've got to get out of this house and with other people. I need to stop soon and fix something for breakfast for Panera doesn't have keto/adkins food, I don't imagine. Hubby is eating whatever I fix as he also wants to lose weight, but... he had to grab a small bag of doritos last night. He offered me a bag, but I declined. If I am going to do this, I need to do it right. And I want to do it. I want to have more energy, a clearer head (but how can eating 'fat' help clear the head?), and drop about 30 pounds. I.can.do.this. I wanted to fix stuffed green peppers last night but couldn't find the recipe I wanted - so just cooked the hamburger, added onions, green peppers cut up, and some cream cheese and let the cream cheese melt in it - and then I had some very small carb free tortillas that we put it in - and yummy! Hubby will probably eat the rest for lunch today for he sure ate a lot of it last night! I need to sit him down and explain how this works... for one, you still have to limit how much you eat of it, and two, you got to give up the carbs - i.e., doritos. I've had to give up my potato chips and saltine crackers and bread - you think that's not hard? I love saltine crackers for when I'm wanting something to much on!
I've been making 'chaffles' which have really turned out good. I use the little Dash waffle maker - I think it is 1/2 cup shredded cheese, 1 egg, some salt, and pour half in the waffle maker for about 4 minutes. I make two of them - and it's pretty good. Oh wait - that was the chaffle bagel that I made yesterday! After it's cooked, you spread cream cheese on it and then sprinkle the 'everything' seasoning - and it actually was pretty good. May do that again this morning using cheddar cheese - I think that would work better than the mozzarella. Will see. I have a chaffle book (it gets its name from cheese and waffle) so it has a lot of things in there to make.
Deuteronomy 6:4-5 (NKJV): "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength."
We are called to love God first and foremost, above anything or everything else. This verse is also called the Shema, and is similar to the first commandment - Exodus 20:2 - You shall have no other gods before Me.
We are really so very favored to have One God over all - we are so loved by Him. He isn't a statue or something that is material and we have to bow down or offer sacrifices to it. Our God is everywhere - in heaven and on earth. We are called to love this One called God - our Heavenly Father - without restraint. He is above all, and He is in all. Do you realize how much He loves you? As my granddaughter has told me frequently - "He loves you more than you will ever remember." It doesn't get any better than that. Love Him, Worship Him, Bow down to none but Him. Only He is Holy, Holy, Holy, and worthy of all praise.
Cutting this short today - lucky you - need to get dressed and fix breakfast for hubby and I before I leave in another hour. I need to figure out how to have breakfast ready BEFORE Saturday mornings when I have Needles of Hope. I can fix egg bites and put in the refrigerator - they can heat up in the microwave. Yeah - just need to get some made! Which means I need to go pick up more eggs! We all need to buy chickens and get them laying eggs for us - at the rate eggs are going up! I find the best deal on eggs at Sam's Club so I may be running over there this afternoon. No rush though; I still have a dozen in the refrigerator.
Ok - gotta jump off and get busy. Have an amazing day! Maybe I will have something interesting to share in the morning.
Blessings!
