I've kinda messed up my plans, I think....

I was going to work in the garage this weekend.  That was my plan.  I still have some boxes at the front of the garage and in the cabinets, and I was going to clean them out this weekend.  I was going to get through those and clean it up.  It's been on my agenda to do for at least a month now.  I even played with the idea of taking Monday off work (since both of my bosses are on vacation) and focusing on it.

I just realized this morning I have kinda messed it all up.  And you know what.  I'm ok with that.  What we are going to do is much more important than cleaning the garage.  It's being with those I love.  It's hanging out and enjoying just being with them.

So what are my plans for the weekend?  Today I have Needles of Hope first thing this morning.  Well, at 9AM.  It's when a group of us women meet up to crochet or knit for 3 hours and catch up on life.  I need this group because right now it is the only time I am around other people that I can relate to, talk to, be talked to, have life with.  Just for a short time.  My daughter usually goes with me, but a text from her late last night shared her husband's brother and family popped in for a visit and she will be unable to come with me.  Now I've flip-flopped on if I want to go - but of course I do.  I need this group.  It's only once a month and I need interaction with other women.  Earlier in the week I had forgotten it was this weekend and scheduled a massage, but once I remembered, I cancelled the massage so that I could go.

After I leave there I plan to go to my middle child's home and pick up his youngest.  (It now may be closer to 12:30PM since my daughter isn't going to NoH)  He had a birthday a week ago and we haven't celebrated with him yet.  It's hard to celebrate with the grandchildren.  I've given up on celebrating the children.  If we get invited to celebrate with them it's all good, but when we don't, sometimes we can meet up, and sometimes we can't.  This one grandchild is still at home so it's easy to work it out.  It's the ones that no longer live at home that it gets harder to see them.  It's just life; no one's fault.  Anyway, I  will pick up this grandchild and bring him home with me.  Not sure yet what we will do this afternoon.  I have a puzzle I'm working on and if he wants to do that for awhile, we can.  If he wants to bake cookies, we can do that too.  We can play a game if he wants.  I just want to hang out with him.  I figure around 4-ish we will take him out to dinner to celebrate his birthday and then will take him back home.

All in all, it will be a good day.  Why?  Because I will be spending part of it with a grandchild.

Tomorrow has brought another change that we normally don't do.  We haven't been attending church in person but once (other than the RV park) as hubby doesn't want to go.  We usually watch at least two services on the computer; one Jentezen Franklin (as I've mentioned before) and our church.  BTW time change comes March 14th which will put Free Chapel's service 3 hours instead of two from our time.  I hate this time change.  I talk with my little sister almost every day and usually around 5-6PM - which is 7-9PM her time currently.  We will have to figure something out as I don't like calling her late at her time.  Anyway.  Tomorrow.

I got a text from a granddaughter yesterday and asked if we'd like to have brunch on Saturday.  I explained I couldn't Saturday, but since we do services online and can watch anytime, we could do Sunday.  After numerous texts we decided on Sunday, at their apartment (I thought they wanted to go out to eat, but no), and I will fix up a batch of my eggs ole' to take.  It will be fun to spend some time with this granddaughter and our great-granddaughter.  Even though they are in town, we may see them but a few minutes a month.  This will be a real treat to have a meal with them and play with the littlest one.  Oh, and her spousal equivalent too.

After that - if I feel like it - I can start on the garage.  You see, it's not that important to me.  Yes, I'd like the boxes gone through and put away/given away/disposed of.  It's clutter in the garage drives me crazy.  I admit that. But what is more important is people.  Family.   They may not need me as much as I need them, but they help make me who I am.

God created other people to be involved in our lives, just as He created family to be an extension of us. They are all important, and I am important to them.  It's connection, it's being a part of a group, a part of family, a part of just belonging.

But what about those times when you feel so alone?  When you feel that even though you are in a crowd of people, no one cares about you?

You still have Jesus with you.  When we push Him aside, He is still nearby, waiting for us to draw closer to Him.  His ear is always open to our conversations, waiting for us to call out to Him for whatever we need.  He is right there, with His arms ready to encircle you and help you feel loved and wanted.  I can't tell you how many times I have felt alone, but only to speak the name 'Jesus' and I immediately feel His love and comfort and peace.

You are never alone, when you are alone.  Jesus is always there, waiting on You.  It's that free will.  He won't interfere with your life unless you invite Him to.  Will you invite Him today, to be a part of your life?  Take a moment and ask Jesus to interfere with your life - and just see what He can do with it.  He will surprise you.

Blessings!
