so glad for a 3 day weekend!

Work wasn't so bad this week, but I had the 'don't want to be here to work' blues. I really wanted to be home where I hope that I would get things done.

I DID start to get some things done today - and have a couple boxes of things ready to get rid of - but there is so much more that I could be doing! But I just don't wanna. Think I will run to Costco in a little bit. Refrigerator is nearly bare. That's my excuse, though. The only thing I need to buy is potatoes so that I can make a potato salad for Monday.

We got up early this morning and did our quiet time. Then I took hubby out for 'geo-caching' so that he could see what I enjoy with it. I'm still not sure if that was a good thing or not. We looked for 4 items - found two, two we did not find. He was cranky, and he did find one. Cranky. I decided 4 was enough. Actually, he said on the last one - one more and that's it. He was, after all, getting hot. We had a breeze, but it was warm, I will admit. It's only fun if you are the one finding things. Or just finding things. I enjoyed it so much last weekend.

One thing I will say about it, geo-caching clears the mind as you are busy looking for the item and you aren't thinking about your problems.

We came home and I started to work on the alcove I have wanted to work on for awhile. I HAVE TOO MUCH JUNK! Truly! I have papers from the 90's and I'm sure the 80's that I have hung on to. Old classes I went to. Other things. I need to just throw away, but I want to go through the papers to see if there is anything I would want to keep. Just didn't feel like going through them all today. I have sooooo much! I need to keep telling myself that my kids don't want to have to go through stuff when I die - and I don't need to go through all this stuff when I move - so just get rid of it! It has no value. But what if I miss something I would want to keep? DUH - I don't even know what is there so how could I miss it? Right?

I do have two boxes of paper and folders to 'donate' so will try to get rid of those this weekend. I have no idea what is in the boxes I have buried in my closets. Maybe yet this weekend I will start pulling those out - but I have so much already out to work through! Geez - just get rid of it already! But some stuff is good stuff. FINE! Donate it! See I talk to myself often about this!

I guess we will be going to the daughter's for Memorial Day brunch/lunch/cookout. My job is to bring potato salad. Want to make enough that I can give some to my middle child.... I know he likes it and more than likely has his own plans for that day.

We took a grandson out for a birthday dinner (late) the other night and enjoyed him so much. I think we will just start doing that with the grandchildren. It was much easier to give them cash for their birthday - but we still weren't part of their lives. This is one way we can be. I love these kids and want to be involved with them.

I told hubby this morning that I am thinking of maybe doing a breakfast ever so often and invite one of the families over. I love to cook and breakfast is fairly simple. Come dinner and I want to cook it all!! Maybe soon.

Sigh. Hubby just came in and of course had to see what I was doing. I really dislike when he reads over my shoulder. I keep moving my computer just for that reason. Not that I am hiding anything. I just have this adversion of someone looking over my shoulder. I have very little room on this desk so can't move it much anywhere else. I may continue to look for a bigger desk. I had found one at Staples, but they didn't have any in stock and they wouldn't take it apart for me to get in my room. So I had to walk away from it.

Ok - need to run to Costco. Hope you are having a good weekend.

Blessings.
