I survived Jailbreak

We had so much fun! We didn't get away until nearly 7PM, but that's ok. We made it up to Prescott safely and kind of chilled out for the rest of the evening. We did a facial. We knitted. We talked. It was fun.

Saturday morning we were up around 6-6:30 to watch the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle - now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. I've tried not to follow the drama so much.... but inside every girl/woman wants to be a real princess and seeing it happen, makes it nice. We watched it on YouTube, but didn't watch it all - I just wanted to watch her walk down the aisle, see her dress, etc. Once that was done, we were ready to head down to breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we just kind of chilled out in the room for awhile, then went to Hobby Lobby and Walmart. Bought yarn (surprise, surprise) and a few other things. After that, we went geo-caching most of the afternoon. That was so much fun - and we were outside - the weather was absolutely beautiful - and we got a lot of fresh air. After that we went to dinner at Applebees before heading back to the hotel.

Slept in until 6AM on Sunday (me - 8AM for the other two) and did my quiet time, sat and knitted while waiting on the other two to wake up. After breakfast we came back up to the room and gave ourselves foot detox and soaked our feet out on the balcony. A lot of fun laughs. Again the weather was so nice we had the balcony doors open. It was really hard to have to pack up and head back down the mountain.

And God got involved. We were whipping down the mountain at a good pace when the daughter decides we need to stop at a really good pie place on the road heading home for lunch. No problem. When we got there, I pulled off and we went in and ate a sandwich and they got pie. As we came out, I noticed traffic was backed up in front of the restaurant. Then a police car went by with lights flashing. Then an ambulance. Then a firetruck. We decided to wait it out.

We walked to the little shops on the left and remembered we hadn't bought our "souvenir magnet" for our trip. Found some pottery magnets so we bought those and I wrote Jailbreak Getaway 2018 Prescott on them. Then my granddaughter and I went to another shop and got some green tea. And then we met my daughter in front of the restaurant - we sat down and grabbed our knitting to work on while we waited. As we waited, I noticed that traffic (which had been completely stopped) was now starting to move. After about ten more minutes we decided to try it. We went back in and bought a pie to take home, then loaded up the car. We got on the highway and by then the traffic had totally opened up and we had no problems at all heading on home.

If we hadn't stopped for lunch, we would have been caught in the middle of the brush fire in the middle of the median, we wouldn't have had lunch, not gotten our magnets, and we wouldn't have gotten more knitting done. We didn't have to sit in a hot car - we had a cool breeze and shade, a cool ice tea to drink, and a restroom close by. Perfect.

We are already planning next year. We decided that we would write down things we want to do and put in a jar. Next spring we will take everything out and then figure what area has the most things we want to do, then find a hotel in that area. We'd love to go to San Diego, but don't think hubby will let me go on Jailbreak there. I made my daughter and granddaughter promise that if some year I am not here, that they will continue to have a 'jailbreak getaway' every year.

All in all, it was a nice, restful, weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Blessings!
