Our church is having a women's luncheon today. I sent an invite to my daughter and daughters in law, and two of the granddaughters. I wasn't sure if my daughter and one granddaughter would be back from California in time as they were there for my son-in-law's mother's funeral. However, last night I received a text they were on their way home with an ETA of 2AM. I am assuming they made it ok - and that they will be coming to the luncheon with me. One daughter-in-law didn't respond, one did, my other granddaughter explained they had things going on at their church. And that's ok.
I was to be on the set-up committee, but due to work, I only was able to give the use of my decanters for tea - and I bought 4 gallons of tea for the luncheon. I hope it will be enough. I think they only expect 20-25 women. I don't know. This is my first function there so am not sure how well attended they are.
Only six more days until our Jailbreak Getaway - when my daughter, granddaughter and I take off for the weekend. This is our third year. First year we went to Payson, last year to Tucson, and this year we are heading to Prescott. We are going later (May versus March) and have to take a weekend since our granddaughter needs to work and can't take off. But that's ok. It will be good to get away. We plan to geo-cache and shop, and knit. Not sure really of what all. Just getting away - just us. It's a nice break, even over a weekend.
My knitting is coming along. I still make mistakes, but I do enjoy it. I find that most evenings I am knitting instead of reading. I've decided I need to designate which nights I'll read, and which nights I'll sew, and which nights I'll knit. I have a lot I want to get done before Christmas and my time is limited. I can't believe we are half-way through May already.
Guess I need to get in the shower and get ready for the luncheon. Got to get there early.
