The start of something new.....

I'm just not sure what!  But the title sounded encouraging, don't you think?  Something 'new'.

What do you think of when you hear the word 'new'?  To some people it means something that hasn't been before.  Or had before.

New.  What am I thinking about?  Got me!  Actually, I was thinking this is the start of a new week of job hunting.  I did get my hopes up on a lead on Saturday, but haven't heard all the details yet.  It would be out of my 10 mile radius I had hoped to have, but it would be a job with good benefits.  So, need to wait and see how it pans out.  So - that is new hope.

This past weekend I got to spend some time with my bestest girlfriend and do our monthly 'walk' to catch up with each other.  Today is her birthday.  Wish I could celebrate with her, but I did buy her breakfast on Saturday so we did celebrate.

After that we had lunch with my middle child and his children.  THEN I got to have the 'princess' to myself.  She turned 21 on Friday.  Doesn't seem possible she is 21, living on her own in Tucson (well, her parents still do the financial bit) and going to school.  Anyway - she and I walked the mall and spent some time together; came back here and played a game of Mexican Train before I took her back to her parents' house.

Yesterday, after church and lunch, I was able to get  my daughter for a couple hours to go shopping with me.  It is so rare that I get to spend 1:1 time with her, so I'm grateful for what I get.  I need to get clothes to wear to work; I haven't bought any dress clothes in a long, long time.  There wasn't any need to.  So, she helped me find two dresses and a top.  We walked the mall - and 'ran into' my youngest son and his girl friend sharing a blizzard (yes, I recognized what it was).  It was funny seeing him - he wasn't expecting it - and neither were we!  It was good to see him for a few minutes before we continued on our way.

New things.  And I'm hoping to embark soon on a new journey.  Can't wait to be able to share that with you - but of course that will probably mean that my blogs may begin to space out.   But at least I would have something to talk about rather than fill this space in with my ramblings! :-)  Ok, sometimes I do have good stuff!!  (Don't I?)

Took Marley out for her morning walk.  She really likes to get outside.  I want to take her over to the canal where Tom and I walked and if there are no other dogs or people around, take her off the leash and let her run.  I've seen lots of people do that.  I think she would be ok and come back to us.  We won't know until we give her that opportunity.  It would be good for her to be able to run run run!!  My walking doesn't deplete her enough!  I'm not quite to jogging on our sidewalks, but may try at the canal a little.  And I do want to work on the running..... at the mini marathon next May I hope to run and walk so that my time will be better than this year.   I'll be able to get a good walk in soon; when Tom gets home he wants to go to the gym - and I may go to get some serious walking in.  (Come on Ralph, join us there!)

The Color Run is January 26, 2013.  I've been looking at it and wanting to register, but must wait until I get a job so that I have the money.   Stuart is signing up for it; I wish I could get Ralph and Mary to sign up for it too.  It would be fun to have all of us do the 5K.  It's only 3 miles and you walk at your own pace; not like the mini where you are on a time clock.   It looks like it would be a lot of fun. 

Ok - need to start going through all the ads careerbuilder and jobungo and monster and whoever else is sending me job info and start weeding through them.   This is going to be MY week to find a job!
