Sunday resting

Here it is Sunday, and once again planning to go to the noon service, I am still in my room at 8:13AM.  I love not rushing about in the mornings!  My first cup of coffee is finished, and I could go get another... still haven't decided if I want another or not.  I may just go get a Premier Protein drink and call it breakfast. :-) Or I could be nice and scramble up some eggs and toast, right?  Will see what I want to do when I finish 'writing' in here.  I really don't want to disturb my 'space'.

Yesterday was a good day.  Spent a lot of time in here, fixed a shake for 'breakfast/lunch' cause it was late morning.  I worked on my diamond art project - again a print of my son and DIL as Santa and Mrs. Claus so that I would have one for my own wall at Christmas.  The one I made last year I gave to them.  Something they can pass through their family if they want. Anyway, making one for ME, and after I'm gone, whoever wants it... but I'm still trying to do Christmas ones so that I can hang on my wall at Christmas time - just something different, and it keeps me busy.

Mid afternoon, and I say mid because we met friends at PoPo's for dinner at 3PM.  We had a great visit with them and enjoyed sharing fajitas with them.  Food was pretty good.  I found it odd they asked 'beans OR rice.  Seriously?  I even directly asked the server - "Did you say beans OR rice?" and she said "yes".  Wow - every other Mexican place we have gone to eat it has just automatically been put on our plates.  The BEST Mexican food I've had is at Valley Luna - just saying.  But, we got 'just beans' and all was good.  It was interesting as well, the little plates you get to put chips and salsa on?  They brought our meal, and told us to just use the little plates.  It just seemed really ... don't know the word.  Most places will automatically bring bigger plates.  Maybe it was because we both were sharing the one meal?

Which reminds me - we haven't gone to the Top Shelf up just north of us lately.  I mean, not since we went to the one at 35th Ave & Greenway and it was closed. Permanently.  We aren't sure if it is just that one - or Top Shelf in general.  One of these days we will head up to Top Shelf and see for ourselves if it is still open or not.  Not any time soon, for sure.

We're meeting our associate pastor and his wife for dinner tonight at Texas Roadhouse way over on the other side of the world.  He said that is his favorite one, that each one fixes steak 'their way' and he likes that one best.  So be it!  Just going to hang out with them a bit and meet his wife and have a good meal with it.  Looking forward to it - and another early meal - at 4PM so we won't be eating much today.

The quail eggs are still there....don't see any others that hatched.  Had to water my plants yesterday - it kind of looks like - from the dried pots - that the HOA has turned off, or lengthened the time in between waterings in the courtyards, to save on water.  So I got the hose out and thoroughly watered EVERY thing.  They aren't going to 'force' my plants to die because they turn the system off that should come on automatically.  I'll water them myself!!  They still have to pay the water bill!  I do not like the little hoses they have put in the courtyards anyway; much prefer the sprinkler system they used to have.  I'm still annoyed.

And aren't you enjoying all this rambling that I'm doing this morning?  Obviously I don't have much to talk about.  Maybe if I sit still and pause a bit something will pop into my mind.  Will see, anyway. Wait a minute....

Ok, nothing has come to mind.  What is there to talk about this morning?   Notice just came through that there will be a lot of warm wind blowing today.  Oh joy.  I like cool wind.

Well, nothing has come to mind and I do need to do some reading for our group on Wednesday.  Guess I'll mosey off here and grab my book for some reading before starting to get dressed for church.  Since most go in very casual clothes, i.e., jeans and t-shirts, I have a wide range of choices.  I still like wearing dresses to church unless we plan to go somewhere right after.  I have worn jeans and t-shirt to church. Highly unusual for me, but I've done it.  Hubby wears his shorts and a shirt.... tennis shoes always make the feet feel good, right?  Which reminds me, I still have a pair of tennis shoes I need to get to a grandson. Maybe I will run them up to my DIL this next week; gives me a chance to see her as well.

Unfortunately, with my stove and oven still out... I'm still not trying to do much cooking. I was talking to my little brother the other day about it, and he admonished me - he said the grill I bought several months ago (and I must admit, still have not used) - that you can bake on it as well.  Guess I need to find the instruction book and figure it out.  It just might be fun to do!  I know, I've been lazy.  I prefer someone show me how to use it, then I can use it.  I'm always afraid that I'll do something wrong. At least I don't have to worry about 'gas' - as it is electric.  Maybe I'll look up the book this afternoon (I don't remember at the moment where I put it) and actually read it.

And with all this rambling this morning, I'm going to get off here and read. You really did want to read my 'daily diary', right?  I talk way too much on here, I know. I share way too much.  But - it gives you something to read ..... and you do keep coming back, so there's that!  Perhaps it is a hope that you will discover something that sticks to you. :-)

May you find yourself full of joy and love.... and have peace with everyone.

Blessings!
