And here it is Friday, once again...

Yesterday was a pretty quiet day and I expect today will be as well.  The company has not replaced Brett yet - and I'm wondering if they will as the position still has not been posted.  Interestingly, Sue asked again why her position has not been posted - July 31 will be here soon.  Her boss contacted HR and was told "I thought you were going to post it"... to which this boss said "why would I post it?  YOU are HR!" Still don't know where that is at. So now I am thinking, are they thinking Brett's boss is the one who should write the posting and not HR?  What's up with that?  What is HR for?  I know when I send this head of HR a question, she deflects me off to someone else to get the answer.  Well, I am sure she does something.... I just don't know what.  I certainly don't want to have any conflicts with HR!

Our house cleaners will be here around 1-ish today, I think.  They were to come Tuesday but I insisted we change it.  I had plans for Tuesday. :-)  Anyway, I will need to take the time this morning to put things away. No, I do not clean the house; I just need to put away my clutter.  I wonder if I can get this room cleaned today; the past few months it has been so cluttered I just tell them to 'run the sweeper' and that's it.  I really need to DO something with this stuff in here and let them dust.  But, looking around, maybe not this month either.

Hubby is ready to head out to his bible study.  I love Friday mornings when I'm alone - even when I have to work.  Friday mornings usually are not 'bad'.  I do have some things I still need to do - and my list is getting longer every day. Which means I need to get started on them and eliminate some - which I will do today.  I did eliminate some yesterday.

Hubby asked me about something to do on Saturday - don't remember what it was now.  I have nothing on the calendar for tomorrow.  Maybe he was just trying to figure out what we will do.  Who knows.  I should work on this room.  I'm still excited I cleaned my closet out last week!  That was a mile stone and it felt good!  I should attack the drawers.  I have a dresser, and a chest of drawers, full of clothes and what nots - and I think I could probably get rid of the majority of what is in there. Seriously. I rarely get in the dresser drawers at all.  Two drawers in the chest - and those are my every day stuff.  Work out stuff.

As I was skimming AOL news this morning I saw a post where it said "Her father was a hoarder. When he died she inherited his house."  That is a scary thought, isn't it!  I know I 'hoard' some.  I may call it 'saving for a rainy day or for someone in need', but, I have things I do not need to hang on to.  Letting them go is the hard part at times.  Even though I don't need them.  If I knew someone could use them, I'd hand them off in a heart beat!  I was able to get rid of a pressure cooker that I wasn't using (one of those power XL things my older sister bought me years ago) and gave to a grandson.  I offered also an indoor grill, but he said he didn't have room.  This grill is also a smokeless power XL - but it takes work to use, which is why I don't use it often.  Maybe I need to dig it out and use it.  I can cook a whole week's worth of chicken on it and then put the chicken in the refrigerator. And have before.

Which reminds me; hubby called about the oven yesterday. They said the part was completed but is still in Chicago. They would call and let us know when they get it back. Supposedly this is the only place in the entire US that can find the part to fix my oven.  I won't know how to act to have a stove and oven again.  Baking will be in my future, for sure!  Cookies!!

Hmmm. Hubby just came in to tell me goodbye, and asked if I could do him a 'favor'.  I said 'sure'.  "Could you make the bed this morning because when I get home I will need to clean off my desk and won't have time before the cleaners come."  Yep. Something that may take 3 minutes to complete. Of course I assured him I thought I could handle that.  And I still need to get moving and dump my trash cans, take the trash bag out, pick up my yarn and my bags and put them away.  Straighten up some books I have laid out. Put my appliances away in the kitchen I am using in lieu of my stove/oven.... and work in the meantime.  I have plenty of time to do all that.  Right?  He's leaving 15 minutes earlier than usual.  He just hates making the bed!  LOL  But when I do, he always thanks me for making it.  I actually like cleaning my house..... he just won't let me.  So what I am able to do, I do when he is doing something else outside of home.  See why I like Friday mornings so well?   I think it was last Friday I was able to get 2 loads of laundry done before he got back home - and since it was my laundry, he didn't even notice.  I have often said that if hubby was gone a month, I could have this house completely cleaned and things put away and in organized.  HAHA

I did go ahead and ordered a hydrogen bottle yesterday.  I checked out what was the best one and it is Aqua Vital.  Amazon was 'out of stock' so I went on their website and bought it.  Got notice in today's emails that it is being packed.  With hubby drinking my cans, I've tried to limit him to 2 a day, and I think he is only drinking the one in the evening before bed.  I have been drinking 2 a day.... and it can get expensive, I admit.  Hence he hydrogen bottle in which I make my own.  It says we can even use tap water, but they recommend bottled water.  So if I'm getting bottled water anyway, might as well pour one in the container and 'hydrogenize it' right? LOL  Will see how that works out.  And you know I will have to 'share' it.... but can 'make it' and pour into a glass.  It's all good.  But I think I got a good product.  It was rated 9.8 compared to the others and the price was much less in most cases of those tested.

Mark 6:47-48  Later that night, the boat was in the middle of the lake, and he was alone on land. He saw the disciples straining at the oars, because the wind was against them.

Before this time, Jesus had just fed 5000+ men, women, and children with 5 loaves of barley bread and two fish.  A miracle!

And so many times when we are reading scripture, we focus on the miracles, and not what happens after. Or even before.   Jesus went up to the mountain to pray after He fed the people.  He sent his disciples on over the lake and he went up to pray.  He wanted to be alone.  He knew where the disciples were.  He knew a storm came up and they were struggling. He knew exactly where they were.

Mark 6:51-52  Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed, for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened.

And so many times we focus on what is going on and miss the miracle itself.  The disciples saw what they thought was a ghost walking on water towards them.  They were terrified, and then were amazed, but they didn't understand how that happened.  It seems that Jesus has a pattern of performing miraculous acts in the setting of messes, doesn't it?!

We need to spend a whole lot less time trying to fix the messes in our life, and a whole lot more time keeping our heart soft to understand what Jesus is doing IN our lives and around us.  We look at our mess and focus on it.... and when we get through it, we have sometimes missed what God did in the middle of it.  He may have given us peace in this middle of the struggle.  He may have provided a meal in the time of hunger.  He may have blessed with an unexpected gift of monies - and we take it for granted.

O Jesus, may we never miss what you are doing in the middle of our messes.  You sometimes make us walk through them, but You always help us get through them.  What is that saying - If God leads you to the fire, He will also help you get through it?  And He does.

Thank God for the struggles, for in those we learn our lessons.  Thank God for answering our prayers, for in those we are satisfied.  And Thank God for the 'afterwards', for it is in those times we know He is in control.

Blessings!
