And yes, I 'go back' to work today. I feel I really needed the Friday-Sunday break, although it hasn't been that long since I had that before. Was it just last month I took a Friday/Monday off work to play? It felt good to be quiet and not rush about this weekend. I did a lot of hours on my diamond art project - hopefully will finish it by this coming weekend, if I just spend a little time each day on it. Over 3/4 completed, but I 'lose' so much time focusing on it, I get nothing else done. And you know what, I feel that is ok as well. I am usually alone with my thoughts, except with a few interruptions.
Yesterday's message was on Repentance - and it was the last of the Holy Healthy Habit series that our pastor has been doing. I took some notes and have them to reflect on occasionally. I want to be a 'Rapid Repenter' as it is called in my book 'Secrets of the Secret Place' by Bob Sorge. I started re-reading it a couple weeks ago. I think I have read it 2-3 times a year since 2001, which it was given to me as a gift. There is so much good stuff in there that I like to be reminded. And one of them is to be a 'rapid repenter'. What does that mean? It means when we are convicted that something we said or did was wrong, we should immediately confess (rapid) to God, and to whomever we may have wronged. The two words 'I'm Sorry' seem to be the hardest words to get out of our mouths - and next to it is 'I forgive you'.
There are some people who every sentence it seems has "I'm sorry" in it - to where you know they aren't really sorry - they are saying it to draw attention to themselves. Is that a rightful conclusion? When one says "I'm sorry", you want them to be sincere. I wonder if we ever stopped to ask them ' What are you sorry for?' if they would have an answer for you - because when it's mindless words, they don't know. Hmm. Just thought about that. I sure hope I don't do that!
Other than work, I don't think I have much pressing stuff today. I don't have training until tomorrow after work. I need to do something today here at home, at least. Hubby had mentioned going to the Rec center and working out over the weekend, but that never happened. We do need to get around to using the Rec center as we have to pay for it every year. They do have a pool, but until it gets a lot warmer, this girl ain't getting in it! Ms. Vicky is already asking me to go to the pool with her. It's not that I don't want to hang out with her, or go to the pool with her, I just haven't had friends to hang out with in many, many years. I need to call Melonie and check in on her - but that also works both ways. We haven't talked since before Christmas. She doesn't like to talk on the phone due to her hearing issues, but she rarely responds to texts as well. I need to contact her to meet up for lunch one day, but I hate to go and then have to keep an eye on the clock, you know what I mean. I need to touch base with her regardless. Maybe I'll do that today.
Proverbs 14:22 (NIV): Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness.
Have you ever noticed that those who have a bad outlook on life, that rarely does something 'good' happen to them? In fact, when something 'good' DOES happen to them, they are quick to dismiss it as good and find disappointment in it. And yet, those who plan good things, see the good in all the little things as well. I guess that is the main difference between negative people and positive people, is it not? Not that negative people always plot evil things, but they have no concept that some things can be made better just by looking at it in a positive way. Now I'm getting all over the place, aren't I? I've known some people who were not good. In fact, I did call them evil. And no matter how much I tried to please them, they always found something that they could take away form me or criticize me for. A former supervisor was like that. He was terrible, and not just to me. He was manipulative, and loved to change how things were done, just to keep everyone in an uproar. He would 'tell' you one thing, then send you an email entirely different. It wasn't just me he did that to - but to others as well. When we finally got enough 'proof' to turn in on him, he gave his resignation and left the company. But do you know why he left the company? I'm truly serious abou thtis.
I would constantly tell others to pray blessings on him. Pray that he would receive favor. And I would pray it as well. I/we never prayed he would get another job; that thought didn't enter my head (I am somewhat naive at times) but I would pray that he would be blessed, that he would find joy in his work, etc. And then, all of a sudden, he got another job with another company. We all jumped for joy, of course, and our director was able to write in her file - do not rehire - as she had proof of all the things he had said/done to others. He truly was 'evil' in his behavior.
Oops - just realized that it is now 7:04AM! I reckon I need to get off here and get on the work computer. I do have it already up and ready to go. It's just my body isn't quite ready to get there. But I must. I am sure I have lots to get done today.
Hope that you have an amazing day - be kind to others, you don't know what kind of a day they are having.
Blessings!
