While hubby went to his training yesterday morning I hustled around here and got a couple things done I wanted to do, and piddled about after he got home, until time for me to meet with my friend for lunch at 11:30AM. We just go to Jack in the Box for lunch because it is much cheaper than going to the cafe near us. She spoiled me again this year - homemade chocolate covered cherries. So good, and yes, I've eaten two of them. Usually I can only eat one a day, but managed to get two in yesterday. She gave me a few other things as well. We enjoyed catching up with each other and then parted ways. I headed for Kohls to pick up my order, and oh my.... I got started on shopping. These daggone grandsons give me no clue what to buy for them - none of them! So clothes it is - well, t-shirts. And since they don't read this, I can put it in here. I don't see them often enough to be a part of their lives. At least my granddaughters call me on occasion and touch base! I left Kohls in time to get home and prepare for my training at 4PM. It was core night. And it was tough. I asked Morgan why she was making me do these harder core exercises - didn't she realize how hard it is to get this heavy butt off the floor?? She smiles. Sigh. She said my core was getting stronger so we had to move to an advance level. I told her I hadn't mastered the other yet!!
Geez! My phone has dinged twice already this morning! First was the dermatologist that I will be going to see at 7:30AM this morning. I could drive myself, but hubby is anxious and insists on driving me. I finally convinced him last night that he does not need to stay. All the dermatologist will do is numb the area on my neck, scrape some of the cells and send to the lab there in their office to check. It could be less than an hour and it will be back (he does all his procedures this morning so it's back to back) - he will either scrape more cells if it shows anything, or he will stitch it shut and put a bandaid on it. That's it. But, if you know hubby, you know he is extremely anxious of anything happening to me. I'm not anxious at all - once I give it to God, it's His responsibility to take care of me. No matter how it turns out. I trust God to walk with me throughout whatever my journey is ahead. I'm not scared, anxious, nor worried.
Actually, I'm really tired this morning! For some reason I awoke about 2AM. Unable to sleep, I'm trying not to toss and turn and about 2:15AM hubby gets up and goes down the hall. I keep waiting for him to come back, but he doesn't. Concerned something had happened, I got up and started searching for him - and found him in his office on the recliner asleep. I went back to bed and tossed and turned until I finally got up at 4AM. I think I'll get a nap in after the procedure this morning! I'm sure hubby will as well.
After a couple more boxes arrived yesterday from Amazon, hubby asked me if I wasn't done with shopping. (He didn't see all the bags I brought in from Kohls as he was asleep when I got back home) I told him I've decided to quit shopping until all my packages arrives; I don't know anymore what I have ordered! The dangers of ordering online and not keeping track! I got notification of something last night that was being shipped and I looked at it with a 'I don't remember ordering that' look. I remember looking at it, but I must have thought of someone who would want it (maybe me?) and moved to my cart. Oh well. It should arrive today, I think.
It seems all three children are trying to figure out the holiday schedules. The youngest just txt'd me that they didn't know yet when they'd have the stepson... I reminded him that he usually has Christmas Eve night - but he needs to figure out a couple times - before or after Christmas - and we'll figure something out. I'm off work December 23, 24, and 25, but am supposed to work on the 26 and 27, but I can put in to take them off if I need to. I'll work with their schedules; when they have children, it's hard to get everyone at the same time - I get it! I know the youngest is going up north the 7th or 8th and I plan to send with him gifts for the grandson and the great-grandson that lives up that way. I just love having my family around - I don't care about the gifts. I love that they think of me, don't get me wrong, but I love just being with them; it has nothing to do with the gifts. If they want to do the weekend before or the weekend after - I just need to know so that I make sure I have everything wrapped and they need to tell me what food they want to eat, if they are coming at a mealtime. This is the first year we've had a chaos of figuring out who is coming when. It's really quite comical. Plans often change. And that's ok.
Hubby is still asking for a long flashlight. I haven't found one yet. I looked at Home Depot but didn't find any. But I didn't ask either. He was asking me to look for one the other day and I told him why didn't he just wait until Christmas! If he doesn't get one for Christmas, I will check on Amazon and get him one. I did buy a smaller flashlight (reg size) as a gag gift for him. Why does he want the long one? He uses it as a flashlight AND a weapon .... he keeps it beside the bed. The one he has now is over 40 years old and it finally won't even charge with new batteries. I wonder if it could be sold as an antique?
Luke 2:4-7 (NKJV): Joseph also went up from Galilee out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
How are you doing with reading a chapter in Luke yesterday and today? I read chapter 2 today. Reading about the conception of John the Baptist and the birth of Jesus, the Son of God, is always refreshing in that it is NEW. By that I mean it is HOPE. Do you realize that God loves us so much, that even back all those years to the time of Jesus' birth, God was thinking about you and me, and He knew that we needed a Savior. So He sent Jesus - for you and for me. How awesome is that! Before we were conceived, before we were even a thought, He knew us, and knew we needed a Savior. So grateful God loves us so much - aren't you?
I mentioned yesterday, I think, that I needed/wanted to clean this bed off in here... well, it didn't happen yesterday, and add to it 3-4 bags from Kohls plus two boxes from Amazon. Now the Amazon boxes were not full so that's no biggie, but still, lots of things on this bed. Guess I will be trying to figure things out this afternoon. I do have a pickup order at Kohls, but it can wait. Maybe. I have $30 Kohls cash to spend. I told the manager at Kohls yesterday I wished they didn't give Kohls cash. He asked why. I told him because I have to spend it! He 'suggested' I just let it expire - but lose $30 that I can spend? Are you kidding me? I know I have let $10 go before - but not $30! I remember my oldest granddaughter going to Kohls with me many years ago and I had Kohls cash - I 'made' her pick out a sweater or something so that I could use it - I didn't need anything - so I chose to spend it on her. Can't remember what it was now, but I vaguely remember doing it. Oh well, I can spend it online too - but I do have a pick up order....
And, I need to get off here and start getting ready to head to the dermatologist office. Will update you in the morning. All is good.
Blessings!
