Well, not really. I mean, there are lots of things that I could do today. Why did I take it off? Cause I had Thursday and Friday off for Thanksgiving, I need to take tomorrow off, so why not take the one day in between as well? Exactly what I was thinking! So I have today off. I made arrangements to have lunch with my 'oldest' friend and take her Christmas gifts to her, although it is still quite early in the month. This month will be flying by so I need to take care of what I can early. I also need to run to Kohls physically... I didn't notice when I placed an order last week that it was marked for pick-up and not ship to. I've been notified it is at the one north of us - and I forgot to run up there yesterday. Right now I'm debating on going up before lunch or going there after lunch. May be 'less traffic' if I go about 10AM... meeting my friend at 11:30AM... which gives me some time to pick up last minute gifts I have forgotten to get. I know one I need to pick up today so that I can send it up north when my son goes up to see my grandson. I always get the mother of his children a small gift; I do because I want to. Need to review my spending and gift giving again this year. I started out well.... but then I forget I've already bought - because I never remember to look at what I've already ordered and write it down for who it is for. Or I order and print the order out and write who it is for - only for the company to cancel some of the items - which truly messes me up because then I am not sure what I have for whom. Spending way more (I think) than I planned... yet, when orders get cancelled, not sure what I have spent. Oh well, spending my children's inheritance, right? And it's on them so it's all good.
This room went from cleaned up and neat - to looking like a tornado hit again! Boxes and packages and gifts are all over the place. Time is of essence; just over 3 weeks for Christmas. I'm hoping to 'attack' this room today. Maybe I will have something productive to report on tomorrow. Hubby has a training appointment with Morgan at 8AM this morning; not sure I will be moving about by then, but should. My training is at 4PM today. Throw in lunch with my friend, and a trip north about 10 minutes to Kohls (and shopping, of course), well, will see how much I get done. I'm thinking about getting started in here, go to lunch, THEN go to Kohls and shopping, and come home and go to gym. Will see how that plays out my day.
We had a nice lunch with the youngest son and his family yesterday. Food was good and things were nice. Hubby was polite and respectful. And I was too; but I so wanted to do some shaking of people! LOL I can't stand the yelling and repeatedly commented on it; it was unnecessary. It was so good to see my granddaughter and her boyfriend and son. They are so different; so quiet spoken. I hope we can get together to bake cookies sometime this month. Trying to make myself available on their time schedules. I get it that I may be responsible for this behavior, but any behavior is a choice. I've learned that over the years. I know how I was raised, and I've learned over the years that I have a choice on the behavior I choose. My daughter-in-love taught me years ago that you can accomplish much more with a child if you speak calmly and quietly to them, than you can by yelling at them.
Gasp! It's 7:22AM and I'm not on the work computer! Oh yeah, I'm off today. Tee hee! I only had 4 emails on the work computer last night; maybe I'll check it tonight and see if I can whittle some of them down. Tomorrow is the procedure on the back of my neck, which will be nothing. I will be busy baking I think by afternoon. Wednesday I will be working all day but Thursday I will be driving to Mesa for the company potluck. I'm taking cookies and some of my bread; decided I drive too far to take any specific dish. Dessert works for me. And I can put in a tin and leave there. But I do want to take a couple gifts with me. My friend Cecilia, I have a couple books to give her, for Paula - well, she loves my gingersnap cookies and I make her some every year. Silvia always gives me a beautiful card and an ornament so I need to bring her something; probably some of my bread and jam. For my favorite boss who will be there - well, we plan to meet up on the 19th and I will be taking her a lot of things. I've mentioned before that her family loves all the goodies I make and give. I've got her a small gift besides all that, but I love to make things and give to her for I know she and her family appreciate and love them. Those things I can't make until the 18th to ensure their freshness.
Luke 1:5-7 (NKJV): There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years.
I meant to do this yesterday and totally got distracted. So I'm going to suggest you start this today. Pick up your Bible and go to the book of Luke. Start with chapter 1. There are 24 chapters in Luke and if you will read one chapter a day, starting today, you will read the last chapter on Christmas day, and will read all about Jesus' life - from His birth, to His death, to His ascension into Heaven. Will you do it? One chapter a day. Let's do it together!
Hubby has left for the gym and I'm wanting to get started in this room and get some things done while he is gone. I don't have much time. Can I even make a dent? Well, I'm going to try, anyway. Even if it is just wrapping a few gifts. So get off here, I must. I'm just rambling today anyway. My mind is on 'PTO' time. LOL
'Hope that you have an amazing day - perhaps I will have something interesting to share tomorrow! Or not. Life is too short to just sit and let it go by. Let's be productive and active!
Blessings!
