Awake at 2AM...what's going on?

Were my boys behaving in the early hours of the morning? Of course that is where my thoughts would go. Then to my siblings; are they ok? Do I need to be praying for them? My daughter, grandchildren, great grandchildren - thoughts run through my mind of 'is everyone ok'?  I knew hubby was, he was snoring right beside me.  Why was I wide awake at 2AM?  I have no idea.  I prayed. I recited the Lord's Prayer; I went through Psalm 23.  Finally, at 3:30-ish I arose and came in here.  Wanted to go back to sleep but could not. I had nothing on my mind - oh, well, I did have the thought that the board packet probably did not go out yesterday as I don't recall seeing it.  I don't usually send them out; my boss does, but watch it somehow come back on me that they didn't get sent - and the board meeting is tomorrow at 1PM.  The board complained last quarter that they didn't get the reports until the day before - well, here it is again - and it will be the day before.

Sigh. My youngest son just sent me a photo of his ex-DIL - getting married.  And then he asked if he could call me cause I responded..... so now we have talked as well. He had taken two of his children and his granddaughter on a road trip to the southern part of the state.  Got to wish my granddaughter a happy 20th birthday today.  When did my grandchildren grow up so fast??  My great-granddaughter was with them as well and she's hollering into the phone "Hi Oma! I love you, Oma!"  Things like that melt my heart.  I told her next month we will be baking cookies.  I don't care how busy my month gets, I will always have time for my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Life is too short to let these moments pass by.  I want to make special memories with them.

I have some running around I want to do today and I have no idea when I am going to find time to do it. I have so much work to do and I just can't seem to get caught up.  I have too many bosses giving me too many projects to do.  I want to retire and be done with all this!  But then, the money sure is nice to have. We have scaped and barely gotten by in earlier years, and I wonder why I am willing to go back to it. Since we sold our house and moved here, finances have been much better.  But when I think about sitting in front of the computer at home all day amidst interruptions from hubby thinking I need to be available to him at all times to chat.... I just want to retire. In my mind, I have settled January 2026 as my retirement month.  Will see if hubby will let me.  Then I will hear of someone in their 80's still working and I tell myself 'I can do that!' - and I can - but I just don't want to.  I am the middle child - why am I the only one of my siblings still working?????   I have so many projects that I want to do and I can't do them now.  Or it just takes me much longer.  I don't know how I managed to do things when I was driving an hour away for work and having two hours to get home.  I still managed.  But then, we went to bed between 10-11AM and I got up at 5AM.  Now we are in bed by 8:30PM and I'm up at 4AM.  Except today.  Sigh. 2AM is a bit early.  I may need to sneak and take a nap this afternoon.

Colossians 1:9 (NKJV):  For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.

When you pray, what do you pray for?  Do you just pray for healing? Do you just pray for good things to happen? Do you just pray for things to go the way you think they should?  I admit, I sometimes do that as well.  The more I read my Bible, and the more I read other books that help me live life more Christ-like, I find that I also need to pray that whoever it is that I am praying for, to be filled with the knowledge of Christ and that they would understand the love that Jesus has for them.  God loves you so much that He allowed His one and only Son to go through all He did - just to take all our sins, yours and mine - and have them nailed at the cross.

So giving up your sins to Jesus sets you free, right?  So why is it when we ask Jesus to forgive us and take our burdens of our sins away - that we tend to pick up the bag of burdens and put them back on our own shoulders?  Jesus took them ALL - and when we give them to Him, He doesn't give them back for us to carry.  Loving and obeying Jesus will set you free. And when you are free in Christ, you are free, INDEED!

When you pray for others, pray that they will know Jesus personally.  Not just as a 'person', but as Lord. There is a difference.  Pray they will learn to love Him as Lord of their life.  Pray that they will seek understanding of their faith, of knowing Jesus and the salvation and sanctification and holiness that He brings.  Pray for blessings.

Tomorrow morning my writing may be very early.... or very late. If I get a chance to write anything at all.  My trainer has moved my training to 7AM - which means I'll have to stop to get ready by 6AM, and out the door by 6:30AM.  And I know that 'legs' are on the agenda.  At least with doing it first thing in the morning, I will be moving throughout the day and they shouldn't be as sore the next day!  We've talked about moving my trainings to 7AM - and I checked with my boss - and we will adapt my working hours.  She knows that I usually put more hours in than required, as a rule. I sometimes start at 6:30AM when I'm really busy, and I work through lunch and stay late (except when I have training @ 4:30PM) when I need to.  She's ok with it. So tomorrow I will probably be working 8-4:30 as I will take 1/2 hour for my imaginary lunch. You know, the one I eat at my desk (if I eat at all) and work at my desk.  At least the training will wake me up - that is, if the cold air (it's 47 degrees, according to my computer!) doesn't do it first!

And with that, I need to get off here and start on my day.  Hope that you have an amazing day!

Blessings!
