Up early, sleeping late

I was awake at midnight.  I was awake at 1AM, 2:15AM, 2:50AM, and finally at 3AM I got up.  I was on the schedule to pray at 3AM.  Yes, I chose that early hour because I don't want to give up my time in the mornings that I use to doze, to read, to pray, etc.  (yeah, I had to put doze in there cause I tend to do that lately)  I got up at 3AM and did my scheduled praying for 'We Pray All Day' group that I am in. The hour flies by.  But then, I'm sleepy - really sleepy - cause I most often pray with my eyes closed.  I get in my chair and get through my reading and before I get on here I think.... just ten minutes I'll close my eyes.... well, 30 minutes later, and it's 20 until 7AM, I decided that just maybe I better get on here and get something typed before I have to get up out of my chair to work.

Today will be a busy day - and not so much with work.  I'm hoping I don't have 'run-ins'.  I have a 9AM vision doctor appointment (so I need to dress decent and probably should put makeup on and maybe do something with my hair).  Then I need to cut out about 15 minutes early and head over to my hairdressers as I am going to get my hair trimmed tonight.  I quit getting it 'highlighted' as my gray has taken over.  When he has 'highlighted' it - it tends to be grayer looking anyway.  So just getting bangs and getting 2-3 inches cut off.  I get so tired of hubby making his 'short hair' comments.  I told him one time I had no plans to look like his first wife (who had short hair) - and I should have a say about my hair - and not him telling me how to wear it.  I've had it halfway down my back - that's the longest, I think - before I cut several inches off.  It's now below my shoulders and I think I will have the cut just at my shoulders this time.  And I've mentioned my hair before and hubby's insistence I get it cut short... so I'm going to stop there.  It just depresses me he wants so much control.

One of my friends from work who has started teaching a class text'd me yesterday with a problem she had in her class.  It troubled her and she didn't know how to handle it.  So, it was nice that she asked my opinion.  And yes I gave it.  What happened was unacceptable and inappropriate and it needs to be addressed, but I did suggest she talk with her pastor and ask him what he felt she should do.  You can't let someone say something and then leave it hanging.  It made her very uncomfortable and shocked it was said.  No, I don't need to tell you what it was.  You would probably shrug anyway.

We still have no one in our discipleship class.  I'll leave it 'out there' for another week or two and then I'm going to withdraw the offer to facilitate it.  After all, it does take preparation.  I may throw out a workbook and see if anyone would be interested in it.  Not too many people want to be held accountable and that's what discipleship is.

Isaiah 26:3 (AMP)  "You will guard him and keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You."

Life changes, but our God does not.  Sometimes we may find ourselves on a path that we never meant to travel, driving down dead end rods and feeling helpless as things happen and causes our hearts to break.  We may have great anxiety about what is going on about us.  But in the midst of it all, when we search for Jesus and find Him (which is easy to do, as He is always near to us), we can find Him in our time of need.

We may not be able to change our circumstances and feel helpless about them, we need His peace to get us through the tough times.  When our hope and faith is in Him, He can get us through any problem, any sickness, any troubles.  But we need to lean into Him.

As you know, I frequently am crying out for something going on in my life.  Sometimes it can get quite weary... but I know that Jesus is my strength and will carry me through anything that happens.  He is my only hope, my only way to survive this life.  And the same is for you.  Are you leaning in to Him?  Is He your Lord and Savior?  Or are you just still floundering in the sea of bewilderment and troubles?

Choose life - choose Jesus - and He will keep you in perfect peace when you keep your mind on Him.

Blessings!
