Skipping a lot I usually do in the mornings...

Because I keep falling asleep. I WANT to go back to sleep.  I'm tired!  I didn't sleep well Saturday night; I did take a short nap yesterday afternoon, but we watched the super bowl game.  I really wanted my 49ers to win, and it was a great game, but they just couldn't get it done.  It was won fair and square and it was a game that kept my attention.  Didn't care for the commercials - except one - and the half time show was blah.   I saw something on facebook that had George Strait holding a sign which said something like 'when you are ready for a real half time show, give me a call'.  LOL  That would have been awesome.  Not many people are country anymore, I don't think.

Oh - the one commercial I liked?  The Budweiser one where they couldn't get to the bar and it was snowing really bad... and the horse nudged the man and he said 'let's do it the old-fashion way' (or something like that) and they get so far and the can't see the road, and the dog from the bar meets them and brings them on in.  Ok - it's cute - but the others were so far out and lame and so many stupid commercials on movies coming out.  I don't even go to the movies.  Blah.

Reba McIntyre did a good job on the national anthem.  But - back to the game, which is why I watched it - it was a good game.  Sure would have liked to have seen Purdy win it - but the 49ers made it to the super bowl and that is a great achievement in itself.

Yesterday we went to the RV park and God took the message and based on what many said as they left, it touched many people.  That is what I always pray for - that God would take the words and plant them in hearts of the people.  On the drive back home I had an urge for Mexican food so we stopped at Top Shelf up here by us.  I couldn't eat all mine and brought quite a bit home with me, and hubby and I split what I had left for dinner.   Next month I am one time at each of the RV parks but only need to pull together one message as I can use one that I used at this one up north.

I Corinthians 13:6-7 (NIV):  "Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

When you love someone, you build them up and not tear them down.  You protect them, but you allow them to fly.  You know you can trust them, and allow them to do things.  Loving someone does not mean keeping them in a prison of your own making to keep others away from them.  Love isn't preventing them from flying.  What is that saying that has been around for years?  "If you love someone, let them go free, if they comes back to you, they will be yours forever."

Valentine's Day is Wednesday this week, for those of you who do not pay attention to the calendar except for appointments.  At least I don't have to worry about getting a gift, although I don't usually get anything big for hubby.  I have talked him in to paying for one night up north when we get away in a couple weeks (sure hope the snow is about gone by then!) and I'm paying for one night - and that is to be our Valentine's gift for each other.  But he usually still buys me a very nice romantic card and writes a long note in it about how .. well, let's leave it at that.  I sometimes buy a card, but not often.  Most times I will hand make one for him.  Maybe I'll send him a Blue Mountain card.  I'm not a big card person at all anymore.  Most times people buy cards that they don't even read first just so they can get off the hook about buying a card.

Not too many of the younger people will take time to purchase a card.  I'm really bad (even at my age) to get a card for someone.  I used to buy cards a lot, then I made cards, and life has just sucked a lot of things out of me over the years.  I miss those times of wanting to find the perfect card for someone.  I'm serious.  So many things I enjoyed doing many, many years ago, I quit doing a long time ago.  And it makes me sad for my whole life changed over the years from what I was, to who I am now.  And I don't always like who I am now.

So what is your take on buying cards?  I read somewhere that the dollar store is the best place to buy cards for people.  Seriously.  Cards have gotten so expensive that when I do buy a card I look at the price first; I refuse to spend $6+ dollars on a card they will throw away the day after the holiday.  If not before.  I can write the same words and more meaningful ones on an electronic card or a piece of paper and make one!  Yeah, I can be cheap.  sigh.

And with that  I got to get on the work computer - it's 7AM!  Hope you have an amazing day and don't my mind off the wall ramblings this morning.

Blessings!
