I did not feel my watch alarm going off at 4AM this morning. I didn't wake up until 5:18AM! And I'm glad I took today off, for I am in no hurry to get up out of my chair this morning. It would be about now that I would be jumping up to turn on my work computer... not happening right now. I may turn it on later... if I need to. I can check work messages on my phone and see if I need to do anything. My bosses were told to call or text me if they have something urgent for me to do - otherwise... I am off today... and I am also taking Monday off. Haven't told Hubby about Monday yet. I may change my mind if he starts driving me crazy.
Why did I take it off? Cause I need to just take a breather. I want to go down to the rec center and check out the gym and maybe work out about 30 minutes. (ok, maybe walk on the treadmill 30 minutes) I want to see if they still have personal trainers and I want to contact them about serious training - not this 'senior training'. No, I don't want big muscles, but I have to get my muscles back again. These past three years I have done absolutely nothing of value to keep my body strong - and it shows. I am weak and I need to build up my strength. And mainly, if I have an appointment to meet them, then it will get me in the habit of GOING to the gym. I have to quit being a hermit.
We're meeting friends from from the RV park here in town for lunch. I told hubby we were both driving, cause I was going shopping afterwards! He grumbled 'what are you shopping for?' but since I have no idea - I couldn't give an answer. I need to do the 'stroll' through a couple places and process things in my mind. I'm wanting to rearrange (did I already mention it?) a couple rooms here and want to check out some things. I may return without buying anything. And that's ok too. I need to firm up my ideas and thoughts and see if I want to pursue them. I want to move this body and get some steps in.
I'm so excited about heading to Tucson tomorrow. Not sure what time we'll leave. I don't want to inconvenience and interrupt things with our granddaughter, in spite of how anxious I am to see her! We can't check in to our room until 3PM... maybe we'll head down around 10AM and get there about 11:30-12PM and I can call and see if we can pick up something for lunch somewhere... and take to their house. Maybe KFC or something. We can hang with them until time to check in, do that, and make arrangements to meet them for dinner somewhere. If we go fairly early, we can beat the crowd. Hubby is excited to get out of town and staying at a hotel. LOL It's the little things. I told him it was his valentine's day gift. HAH!
Yes, Valentine's day is next Tuesday! I quit doing things a few years back... hubby still always gets me a mushy card and a small gift. I usually skip the card and get something he needs... but he doesn't need anything now. Neither of us do, which makes it difficult for gift-giving. Maybe I'll convince him to just get a card - that will eventually be thrown away...although I have kept several of his cards that really say something... I've run out of room to keep cards considering we have been married 40 years. Maybe I can convince him that this weekend IS the Valentine gift for both of us.
But for this moment, I'm glad to just sit back in my chair without any rush to get anywhere.
Well, that long paragraph just got deleted. I think my mind shut off since I don't have to work!
Psalm 28:7 (NKJV): "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore, my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him."
There have been many times that I have called on the Lord for help and for Him to be my strength. He is a good, good, Father, and He always helps me as I call out to Him. Some days I don't know how I got through things, but I always know that He helps me through the toughest times. And He helps you too. He wants to help you, but sometimes you need to ask Him for help. He is always near, waiting for you to call out for Him. For His help. For His wisdom. For His strength. Trust Him; and try Him in this. Call out to Him and let our Good Father lavish His love on you. Cast your eyes upon Him and look upon His face.... He is watching over you.
Blessings!
