A quiet day; a good day

I didn't do any work yesterday.  We went to church at noon.  Stopped by a granddaughter's to drop something off to her, then hubby wanted to take me out to eat for lunch.  Fine - it was going on 2PM and he was hungry.  We went to a restaurant that we liked.  Hubby got his liver and onions; I got a salad with chicken on it.  After that we came home and I curled up on the couch and tried to read.  Of course by this time, it is going on 3:30PM or so (noticing that going to church later does take a chunk out of the middle of the day!  Not a big deal though.  I called my little sister and we caught up from the last couple of weeks where they were in Florida visiting his family.  I came back to the couch and again tried to read - text'd back and forth with my big brother (they got 11-12" of snow! and it was still coming down!) and in the middle of that conversation - I fell asleep.  When I woke up, hubby said I slept for about 30 minutes - and it was a deep sleep too!

Afterwards, we watched a couple of movies and went to bed.  Me, wide awake since I had fallen asleep around 6PM.  Too late for naps.  I was still awake at midnight - and tossed and turned until hubby got up to go down the hall about 4:20AM and I got up and came in here.  Couldn't go back to sleep so started my reading. Hubby got up shortly after and brought my coffee in.  And now that my reading and prayers are over, here I am.  You needed to know all that, right?  I may need a nap later in the day.

Yes, I took today off too.  No, I did not get the area around this chair cleaned yesterday and may get on it this morning.  I need to run by Cox to drop of equipment for a former neighbor.  She never got it turned in before they moved out of state.  So, yeah, I'm doing the 'former neighbor' thing to get it returned.  At least I'm not on a timetable.  I'm thinking about heading that way between 9-10am - if I get my butt moving.  It's already after 7AM... and here I sit, still in my jammies.  As usual, I might add.  But then, I'm usually on the work computer.  I'm loving imagining what it would be like if I wasn't working.....

Hubby has already started asking me where I was going shopping at today - I still have two gift cards from Christmas and he thinks they are burning a hole in my pocket.  Little does he know that one of them is from last Valentine's day - I just don't go shopping except on Amazon - and that takes Amazon gift cards, right?  But that's ok.  I'm enjoying getting out and looking at things.  For me, if I have money (aka gift cards) to spend, I can't find anything I'm willing to buy with them.  If I'm broke, and don't have money - I find all kinds of things that I 'have to have'.  Is it that way with you as well?

Anyway, thought I might 'hit' Burlington and Home Goods today - that should take up the rest of my gift cards.  And then some, I'm sure.  He wants me to buy clothes with it - but I don't need any clothes.  I need to lose ten pounds or more so that I can fit into the ones I already have!  Right?  Morgan is going to really hurt me when I go back in another week or so for training..... I haven't been in the gym since she left on maternity leave.  I've tried to do a few things here - but, well, just haven't done more than one or two exercises.  It's going to be a hurting time, for sure.

My son mentioned in his blog yesterday he might be available for lunch today.  I'm thinking that I may be 'out' when he contacts me - so it will be easy to meet up - figuring around 11AM  -  but will see when he contacts me.

Our Bible study group will be meeting here on Wednesday evening and I need to figure out what snacks I'm going to have.  I plan to make my regular pineapple cheese ball, but I also want to make a dill pickle cheeseball.  It's pretty good.  My oldest son loves dill pickles... but he doesn't like cheese, and I don't think he would like a dill pickle cheeseball - but if I'm wrong, he can let me know and I'll make him one. :-) Cause that is just what mama's do.  Right?

It's close to the end of January and we are starting to pull tax information together. Sure wish our president could get the 'no tax for seniors' sent through.  It sure would be helpful for us.  I threw a stack of tax stuff into a plastic container the other day and set it aside when I cleaned off my work desk.  Now I need to printout my credit card statements and my bank statements and start going through them and identifying what is available as a deduction.  This is (NOT) a favorite time of year - for anyone, I think.

James 4:10 (NLT):  Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up in honor.

Have you ever wondered what that could possibly mean?  Think about it.  So many people are too proud to be sad, to mourn, over their sins.  They just shrug them off and move on, not being repentant, not being sad that they 'screwed up' once again.  But when we follow Jesus, He calls us to a whole new level of righteous living - and that begins with humility.  Being sorry for our sins.  Being humble enough to confess our sins and to turn - aka REPENT - away from them.  Sometimes we tend to repeat the sins, even though we repented and turned away from them for awhile.  Next thing we know, we have fallen sort of who we are trying to become once again.  I'm guilty of this, and I'm sure you are as well.  And once again, I have to confess my sin to Jesus and ask for His forgiveness - once again - and humble myself before Him and repent of my sin and determine how - with His help - that I can stay away from it and not sin again.  Sometimes it is easy - sometimes it is hard.  I think you realize that as well.  Be humble; confess your sins to Jesus and receive His forgiveness and help to change.

It feels so good not to really have an agenda for today.  Yes, I have a couple things I should/need to do... but it isn't pressing.  And hubby isn't pushing to go shopping with me (thank You, Jesus!) so he is letting my time be my time alone.  And I appreciate that.  I need this time alone to refresh myself and do things I enjoy doing - alone. Does that make sense?

And with that - I'm going to get off here and get dressed and figure out how I'm going to do my day.  Hope that you have an amazing day and rest in the promises of God.

Blessings!

Well I didn't sleep all night last night!

What a change from the night before!  We went to bed at our usual time, and although I had sat yawning for several minutes before bed, once I got into bed, I was wide awake.  Didn't drink caffeine so don't know what caused it.  After about 40 minutes hubby's watch went off.  I mean it buzzed!  He finally opened his eyes to look at it and then turned back over.  I have no idea what that was.  But then at 9:40PM, my watch buzzes!  Our neighbor across the street is telling me our garage door is open.  Sigh.  Once again, hubby is the last one in and forgot to shut it.  I usually go back and check before going to bed, but didn't think of it last night so it's on me.  So I jumped out of bed and shut the garage door and sent a 'thank you' to our neighbor.  Came back to bed and tossed and turned the rest of the night.  Don't believe what my watch is telling me I slept - it shows I was only awake one short time after getting up to shut the garage door.  I KNOW I was awake most of the night - and felt it when I finally got up this morning at 3:45AM because I just couldn't sleep.  I tried to settle down in here for a nap - but nope!  That wasn't happening either so about 4:10AM I just turned the light on and started my morning time with God.

In spite of having a very busy day at work yesterday (a new board is being formed and guess who is going to be the support for it?  Sigh. That gives me three), I was able to get several gifts wrapped and a few under the tree.  I have so many more to buy for and I have no idea what to get.  I truly dislike having to give gift cards; and I don't see the grandchildren often enough to have a clue what they would like.  I generally give all the grandsons a hoodie - I'm sure they have so many now they really don't need another one - but some just may get that very thing, because I don't have a clue.  It's not that I don't love them or want to buy them something they want or something unique; I just don't know what.  Just happened to think that at least one grandson could probably use a gas gift card so I may do that for him.  But give something else as well.  I can't just give them one gift, no matter how many times I say that I am cutting back.  My family has grown a lot these last few years and - well, as long as I'm working, and able to, I will order from Amazon (my favorite shopping place cause I don't have to leave my chair) to buy gifts for everyone.  There will come a time though that I won't have a choice.  And this is why I continue working.  It's my life.

Only one more work day after today until Tuesday!  Yep, I'm off Thursday and Friday because of Thanksgiving, and I'm taking Monday off because we have a funeral/celebration of life to attend of a close friend.  I'm hoping we can ride with my daughter and SIL - I haven't asked yet, but I have no clue where to go; they may not either, but at least we won't be 'alone'. LOL You know me and 'new' places I haven't been.  By myself it isn't so bad... and I'll leave that there.  Anyway - I'm taking Monday off for that, and then I'm taking Friday off because it's the Christmas Idea House with my boss day!

Yes, I am taking December 5th off to hang out with my boss.  I will need to drive all the way to Mesa to meet up with her with rush hour traffic, but it is worth it.  Hopefully I can find some unique gifts to buy for someone there as well.  Sometimes I do.  We'll have brunch, do some shopping at the Idea house, and then head back to the car.  I do have a hair appointment at 3PM so just may stay out and do some light shopping before heading over there.  Make a day of just for me.

I need to put in my grocery list at Fry's this morning for pick up tonight.  I don't have everything I need for Thanksgiving and it is just a couple days off.  I knew we couldn't go last night as we met friends for dinner after I worked out.  Which reminds me, Morgan mentioned that hubby really scared her the other day when he was there to work out.  She did not get explicit, but said it was scary enough she told him that he was scaring her!  He never mentioned it to me, of course.  She said that he just seemed extra tired and wasn't able to focus much on the exercises she told him to do.  In the past she says that she tells him and shows him (like she does me) how to do an exercise, and he will do a completely different exercise than what she told him.  And, he doesn't always remember the sequence to do them.  She generally will show us two or three exercises to do in a set.  I know he is trying to be healthy (but won't skip the food he likes) and strong, and I'm sure that is helping him to at least be able to move around, but it does get scary at times.  Yesterday he did his quiet time, and then after breakfast, he sat in his recliner and went through his phone, in between naps (I could hear him in my room, although he denies sleeping), until time for him to go work out with Morgan at 3:30PM.   That was his day yesterday.  B-O-R-I-N-G.  I would have at least read in a book or picked up crochet!  Right?  I can't just sit and look at my phone!

Not complaining about hubby - I do that often enough.  But I'm praying that God will heal his mind as well as keep him healthy.  His thinking process scares me at times.  My thinking process scares ME at times!  Enough of that!

My blood pressure seems to be consistently higher this past month.  I know work has been stressful, and homelife has been stressful at times.... but today, although my heart rate is like 53, my bp is 139/83 - which is way high for me.  I'm blaming it still on the lack of sleep and the dull pain I still have from my tooth being pulled.  It's still healing, but still sore.  And yesterday I drank some ice water and a piece of ice slipped into my mouth and without thinking, I bit down on the ice.  I love to chew ice.  Yeah, it was right over the pulled tooth area - and I about came out of my chair.  I thought I made it bleed a bit but am not sure.  Needless to say, that area is still pretty sore.  Got to watch that ice!

Colossians 3:17 (NKJV):  And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Everything we do and everything we say should give God glory.  Any glory received is not for ourselves, but for the One who made us.  Feeling good today?  Praise God.  Feeling poorly today?  Praise God!  In all things we are to give Him the praise, glory, and thanks.  Even during the tough times when we don't know what the future holds, we are to give thanks to God, because He is the only One who can get us through any thing that life throws at us.  Life is not easy, that's for sure.  I am so grateful Jesus pursued me until I turned to Him.  I've probably screwed up things more often than not, but I am grateful for a loving and kind and forgiving Lord who not only sees all, not only knows what I'm going to do before I do it, already knows the consequences of what will happen because of something I've done, but loves me through it and walks with me as I journey in life.  He does that for you as well.

Life is hard at times.  I get it.  I live it, just like you do. Perhaps not in the same way, but trust me, life isn't always what it seems.  Many times people have no clue what is going on within a home.  Some things are obvious, of course, but many things are not.  We don't want people to see the 'bad and the ugly' side of life.  Perhaps it is only bad because it is our stuff.

Ok - mind is wandering.  I'm tired already, and I have about 5 minutes before I need to turn the work computer on so may as well get off here and get on it, right?  I have an 8:30AM chiropractor appointment today too, so need to get dressed and ready to head over there about 8:15AM. It takes me 5 minutes to get there, maybe ten minutes for him to 'do his thing', and 5 minutes back.  It's like taking a health break for my body.  I always feel better.  Even with the adaptive chiropractor process, it relieves some stress.  I really need a good, deep massage, I think.  Maybe I will pamper myself soon and go get a massage.  It's been over a year, and I could certainly use some 'stress remover'.

Anyway - off here - hope you have an amazing day!

Blessings!

Finally!

I have been stalling on writing in here as I knew hubby would be coming in any time to tell me 'goodbye' as he heads to his Bible study this morning.  He's running about 10-15 minutes later than usual.  He asked me again the other day if I 'still journal' (well, this IS a journal of my life, isn't it?) in my computer.  I said yes.  Then he asked how often I type in my blog.  I just said some.  Nothing I have said about him has been out of line, so if he reads it, he reads it.  He has the 'address' and can go into it at any time. I have never forbidden him.  But I don't want to be 'caught' typing in it for that will ensure he will go into it. If he remembers.  With having the computer on this desk, my back is to the door, therefore he can see what I'm doing when he comes in.  This morning I took the opportunity to pay my Kohls bill and check on a couple of credit cards while waiting on him to come in.  At least any 'bills' I had are now paid off.  All he saw was the store screen.

I didn't sleep well last night.  I mean I really didn't sleep well.  I woke up at 11:30PM for the trek down the hall, but then tossed and turned for another hour.  Finally at 12:30AM I got up and came in here.  I knew hubby had at least one more trek down the hall during the night so I was having difficulty getting settled in my chair, anticipating him opening the door.  I was just settling in and sure enough, I hear his footsteps.  He opens the door.  Stars at me (I can see him because he has a night light in his bathroom).  "Are you in here?"  I just told him yes I was in here.  "Why?"  Well, I couldn't sleep so came in here so that he could.  He stood there for a few more seconds and I told him to just shut the door and go back to bed so that I could try and get some sleep too.  He did. And I did for a couple hours, I think.

Yes, I have something on my mind and was working through it during the night.  Nothing bad.  But just thoughts.  A lot of good thoughts, and something I need to discuss with someone later today.

I actually worked on my bulletin board yesterday and threw away some papers.  Will I get around to doing anything else in here?  Who knows.  I have Needles of Hope in the morning and hubby (yes, he did) made us mani/pedi appointments with the nail shop down the road - and he plans to pay for it.  Works for me.  His toenails are awful and I tried to cut them one time and after one look opted to take him to the nail shop for them to cut them.  YECK.  Now my feet are not the prettiest feet in the world, but, uh, no. Not cutting his toenails.  So we have that tomorrow afternoon.  Maybe after that I can get something done. Or not.  We've been doing more reading (so glad about that!) so may just curl up with a book.

Had an eye exam yesterday and I really liked this doctor who did my exam.  I did the $35 scan they offer (have always refused it in the past) on a whim, and I'm glad I did.  This doctor brought up the photos and pointed out the nerves, and the stigmas I have in each eye - and he noticed I have a scar on the edge toward the ear on each eye.  Weird.   But he told me my eye nerves were healthy and no sign of diabetes (did you know they can tell some diseases by looking at your eye?  Ms. Bonnie from our other neighborhood was diagnosed with MS by her eye doctor!).  He also commented that my left eye worked harder than my right eye to see.  No explanation for the ocular migraines.  I keep asking.  But he wrote two prescriptions for glasses for whichever I wanted. I like him because he explained everything in the test in terms that I understood.  I think I'm getting the progressive for reading and computer.  When those come in, I'll ask what the other prescription was for.  I may ask for that prescription and check around for prices.  My insurance is good.  Remember last year they told me to never quit work, the VSP insurance I have for hubby and I (I took the top line) gives us one frame a year, and some of the other stuff too.  I ended up paying $35 for the test; $10 copay, and $95 for my cost of the new glasses.  Total $140.  Not bad, huh!  They will be here in about two weeks and I'm excited to get them. They are much lighter I think, than my last pair.  And I have numerous reading glasses laying around cause I don't wear my glasses all the time and have to find a pair to read anything with.  A couple of the frames (plastic) have broken and I need to throw those away.  Or glue back together.

Did I tell you my new phone case finally arrived and I've had to 'downsize' all that I carried in my other one?  Yeah - I don't need to carry all that I was, but you know once you use something you just stick it in the folder and move on.  And my old phone case was getting pretty full.  Hubby likes his new blue cover; hopefully he will find it easier to find when he loses his phone.

My little sister and I are going to do a bible study together.  I saw this ad for one for Easter and we both ordered the books.  I decided that I wasn't going to try and watch the streaming video because with work and other issues, I often miss things due to time differences.  So I ordered the video to go along with the 4 week bible study and can do it on my own time.  I also ordered one for my sister and will send it on to her when I get it.  I also bought 'myself' a new DVD portable player.  It's larger than the one I had purchased about 5 years ago.  We only used it a couple times but the last time I used it, it stopped in the middle of the movie and wouldn't play anymore.  I was not a happy camper.  It was a cheap plastic one anyway.  The new one is as big, if not bigger, than this laptop.  Which is bigger than I like, but serves it purpose.  It's heavy too.  But at least the screen is big enough that we can see the movie and not a 8 inch screen like before.  I can remember when they had a player built within the computer and we could use those - but no more.  I actually miss those days of convenience.

Oh my - starting late this morning and time has gotten away from me!  Have already turned my work computer on and got caught by an email that had to be responded to right away.  Got to order some printing stuff for one of the directors in Colorado today too.  It's been 5 years since I've ordered any printing - think it has changed any?  And why does she have to ask me to do it!  I don't wanna!!  UGH but I have to do it.  Suck it up buttercup!

Alas, I don't have time to ramble so much in here; it's 7:04AM and I need to get to work.  My time is never my own, right?  Oh well - enjoy my little rambling stuff today - maybe I'll be more with it tomorrow when I have more than 4 hours of sleep.

Blessings!

Don't do anything; don't get tired...

Yesterday was pretty much a 'do-nothing' day, I think.  After my coffee, (which my granddaughter made for the two of us in a French Press and it was so good) we figured out what to eat for breakfast.  I had bought the English Muffins and Canadian Bacon and eggs... but... no cheese. So, we ate little white donuts (and I ate way too many of them); the little one ate cereal.  I forget what anyone else ate - if anything.  I think we ate fruit from the fruit tray we bought.  Anyway, after that, everyone got ready and we headed out to Walmart and picked up cheese and a few other things.

And yeah, I got caught in her charm.  LOL  The little princess and I (she in the cart) were walking around while mom and grandma were looking at other things... and I started down a row in the toy section.  On the top shelf was this large baby doll.  The little princess looks up at it and commented on the 'big baby'.  I said 'yeah, it is a big baby', and started to move past it... when the little princess looks up at me with big eyes and goes, "Oma, I want the big baby, please?"  So what does Oma do?  What any great grandmother would do.  She bought it for the little princess.  And she carried it around with her for quite a while.

From there we went to a yarn shop and did a little shopping there.  Not so much me, since I am still very much a novice with my crochet or knitting skills. I just don't take the time to learn new things. I know a few basic stitches and all the baby blankets I have donated have either been in the granny stitch or the V stitch.  I've gotten pretty fast and good at both.  It's a donated blanket - and I think they appreciate whatever they can get.  I have made a few blankets and put in the cedar chest for any great grandchildren that arrive after I'm gone.  Just like my mama did.  Only she gave me a couple to pass on ... and I have.  My son's daughter's child has one that my mama made.  I love that when I have explained what value I have placed on an item, my granddaughter treasures that memory as well.

After the yarn shop we came back here and never left, leftovers from the night before for lunch, and then ordering pizza for dinner.  We tried to teach the little princess how to play Uno by color, but she didn't have much interest in it.  Once she had her bath and went to sleep, which by then didn't take long, we played Uno and the two others solidly beat me. And enjoyed every moment of it I think!  It was fun playing the game, though.

And, because I wasn't active yesterday, not really, I didn't sleep that well cause the body wasn't tired.  You ever have those days?  But today -

Today will be our train ride and I think we ae doing the afternoon one, which will be good so that the little one can see more.  I've only done the sunset one many, many years ago, so this will be a treat too, for me. We splurged on the first class tickets so will have the covered railcar as well as the open one I think. They also have food (snacks) for us.  We will be heading over late morning as I think it leaves at 1PM. It's a 4 hour ride - 2 hours to the end and then back 2 hours.  Don't look down at some parts, if I recall correctly.  But it will be a fun memory to reflect back on.

Acts 24:14 (NKJV):  "But this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets."

So how are you doing with this?  Do you believe as your father before you believed?  I think we all pretty much had praying grandmothers and grandfathers who prayed for our parents, and for ourselves as we were growing up.  I remember my Granny, my mother's mother, sitting out on the porch, or in her rocker in the house, reading the very large Bible that she had.  (which my little sister managed to get)  I know she prayed for us.  I remember my Grandma and Grandpa, my father's parents, who also prayed for us.  And I try to always remember my grandchildren in prayer and need as they are made known to me, and for general coverings when I don't.  I hope and pray that each of my grandchildren know how much I love them, and that I pray for each one by name.  I may not see them or even hear from them very often, but they are always covered in prayer.

Covering my grandchildren in prayer doesn't mean I live a perfect, prayerful life.  Far from it.  My life is chaotic and full of 'stuff' that sometimes I need to throw out and start over.  But I love each grand and great-grandchild dearly.  As much as I love my own children, in spite of their wayward ways.  I have labored in prayer for each one of them and I hold on to the belief that there will be a day that all my children will become believers and follow Jesus.  Not be a fan... but be a Follower.  There is a difference.

Perhaps you need to be laboring in prayer for your own children.  Many times I hear of things that have happened, or are happening, and my heart aches for each one... knowing that sometimes decisions made are not always made by them, but by others due to circumstances.  Sometimes they are the ones that need to be lifted even more in prayer for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

I worship the God of my father and mother, my grandparents, and I'm sure many grandparents beyond them.  I am grateful they chose to follow Jesus and taught us how by example to do so as well.  I am who I am, and where I am in my walk with Jesus, because of the prayers offered for me, even before I was born.  Therefore, I pray it forward for my own children and grandchildren and great grandchildren and beyond.

I pray also that each one of you will be praying for yours - and for those who will be joined to your children and down the line.  Prayer works.  Just keep praying, and keep trusting God for the answers.

Blessings!

Lack of sleep is not always a good thing....

especially when you have your first doctor's appointment and you want to feel good and look sharp.  I don't know if the diet coke I had with dinner last night was enough caffeine to keep me awake, issues within the family (had a chat with the youngest and he was already drinking; no sense in trying to have a conversation. His words are cruel even to me when he drinks), and I had that on my mind... or thinking about my middle child's medical issues... or my own fears of something being found in my own health.  I usually do not worry about myself, but twinges here and there have caused some concern.  I'm praying for answers for so many things.  Not to concern anyone about me, I'm strong, and I'm healthy, and I have God on my side.  It's all part of the 'circle of life', right?

I tossed and turned until after midnight last night.  I just could not go to sleep.  I thought about getting up but decided that in spite of hubby's snoring, he would wake up and discover I was gone that early, and then would come searching for me.  I did drift off to sleep and my alarm woke me at 4AM.  So I'm 'running' on just a few hours of sleep today.  When I'm tired and sleepy, I tend to not think as clearly or want to do anything.  So besides the doctor's appointment, I have to work, and with having a second boss, I've discovered already that my days are much more busy than in the past few months!

Been working on the itinerary for our big trip next month.  I'm already wishing we weren't staying as long, but I don't know when our next trip will be, nor do I know if I will ever see any of my siblings again alive.  Two are not in good health at all, and the other two aren't that great either.  And as I age, I begin to wonder even about myself. :-)  Of course anything could happen at any time for any one.  Even here.  All know we are coming out except my oldest sister; I haven't told her... but just realized that my youngest brother who is her POA has probably told her.  I want to surprise her, but maybe that isn't such a good idea either. I do need to call and check in on her.  Her son is living with her still so I haven't worried so much about her.

Hubby has gone to his Bible study this morning... left me to deal with Sheeba this morning and the groomer coming out around 8:30AM.  He may be home by then, or not.  Not a big deal.  I'm a big girl and can multi-task.  I can work around it all, and can get ready for my doctor's appointment while he's gone. :-)

I'm reading in the book of John in the New Testament and today it was the 2nd chapter.  You will remember this story... the wedding feast in Cana where they ran out of wine.  Jesus' mother came to him to solve the problem.  Now how do you think she knew that he could do anything?  Ever wonder about that?  No miracles by Jesus have been reported.  How did Mary know that Jesus could do something about it?  He tells her "My time has not yet come" and what does Mary do?  She tells the servants to do whatever he tells them to do.  And walks away.  Seriously?  Now that requires some faith, don't you think?  So Jesus tells the servants to fill up six waterpots (holding several gallons each) with water.  They fill to the brim.  Then He tells them to take some to the master of the ceremony who is to taste the wine before it is given to the people.  And what happens?  The master of the ceremony is so surprised that this wine is the best he has ever tasted! (well, duh!)  He has no idea how it was made, or where it came from.  But he had to declare to the bridgeroom of its superiority over anything he had ever tasted.

Can you think of a time that something 'changed' that surprised you?  Perhaps it wasn't water into wine, but could it be something that was, was no more?  Or was not, and now is?  As I ponder that question myself, the thought pops into my mind about my son donating old cars to Kids for Cars or for other causes (and there are many).  The car has no more value to him as they have been 'driven to death', and yet, to whomever he donates it, it has great value to them.  I don't know why that thought came to mind, but it did. Hmmm

As I sat here thinking about what to write about, my thoughts turned to my son and his high blood pressure.  That seems to run in my family.  Mine has always been on the low side in the past, but over the past few years, as I have aged, it seems to be going up.  Partly because I have gained weight.  It seems that no matter what I do - short of stopping eating altogether - I cannot lose it.  A whole nother story for another day.  I'm a mess in that area.  But anyway, I have a blood pressure cup that is pretty reliable so decided to use it.  I generally take it twice cause I understand from a former doctor that took it twice, that as the blood pumps, it can go up and down.  The first time it was like 116/71 - really good, actually.  Then the second reading was like 130/91.  Not quite as good.  But still not real bad, especially compared to my little sister's!  Hubby always annoys me when he gets his done at the doctor's office.  He comes back with like 107/60 or something like that.  Why?  Because he doesn't have the stress of working!  Plus he doesn't have to deal with the stress of ME like I have to deal with the stress of HIM!  LOL  When I was younger (and was carrying less weight), mine was low like that too.  And some mornings if I'm really still and take it, it is that low.  But life happens.  High blood pressure isn't a game to be played.  It can kill you or cause you to stroke.  That's why I try hard to stay calm and not eat so much salty foods (although I love salt) and exercise (I did go to the rec center yesterday, but my heart wasn't really in it).

I reckon I'm out of things to write about and I need to jump into the shower before starting work and dealing with Sheeba.  But I leave you with this thought.... this question....

Is there a miracle that you need Jesus to do for you?  Why not take a moment and just verbalize it to Him.  Ask Him for that miracle.  It doesn't mean that you will get it; He may have different plans for you.  But if you don't ask, you may not receive it either.

Jesus, whoever is reading this, if they need a miracle in their life, would You please provide it for them?  Not just give them what they want, Lord, but help them to see they are a miracle in the making, and if they choose You, they will see more miracles than they ever thought possible.  There are some things in my life that I am asking for miracles for, Lord.  I've already spoken to you about them, and I pray that whoever is in need of a miracle or miracles, that You will listen as they tell you about them, and that You will answer.  Thank you for Your answers, Lord.  Thank You for loving us more than anyone; that You want the very best for us.  Hear our cries, O God, hear our prayers.  Answer us, Lord. Let us see Your hand upon our lives and those we love.  And may we remember our asking, and remember to tell you 'thank You, for all You have done'.  Yes, Lord, thank You.  I love You, Lord.  You are my Lord, my Savior, my God and King.  I give You all my praise.  Thank You for Your blessings. Amen.
