At least I didn't wake up until just about 4AM this morning. I would have gone back to sleep had hubby not rolled to my side and then try to 'settle' to sleep about 3-4 inches from me. His movement kept me awake so I just got up; he got up shortly thereafter and made my coffee. Which he reminded me yesterday that I need to get more of. Sigh. I am always the one who has to go to the store or order online to get coffee or anything else for that matter. He rarely will 'volunteer' to stop at the store for something. It doesn't really matter, I guess. I do need to go to Sam's Club for some already cooked hamburgers they have - they are frozen, of course, but they really do have flavor and in the microwave for a few minutes and they are juicy and good to eat. We've been out for a couple of weeks so need to go get some - great for a noon meal. I need to get some more pork rinds too. Yeah, those dry things. LOL I was raised on them - and I enjoy eating them. You can dip them in salsa, or you can use them as a dipper for cream cheese and stuff. I usually eat many of them just by themselves - and a glass of water - they do tend to get 'stuck' in the throat if you eat too many too fast.
My stomach muscles are letting me know they were stretched Monday night! And Morgan (my trainer) text'd me yesterday that she had a 4:30PM open up tonight - did I want it - and of course I said yes! When I can get three times exercise in a week is a good thing. I can already tell a difference in parts of my body, and I'm loving the inch(es) coming off. I don't pay as much attention to how much I weigh - my muscles weigh more than my fat does. Burning that fat makes me feel better. :-)
Yesterday was a good day. I talked to all three of my children - and that is a rarity. In thinking about it, it was the first time in several days for some. My youngest called me early yesterday morning to update me on some of his things. The oldest son called late morning and we chatted for quite a while - which was nice for he very rarely calls. Then my daughter was able to come over last night - I don't think I've talked with her since last Tuesday. We caught up as we worked on the diamond art project again, and she updated me on their heading to New Mexico for the baby shower on Friday morning. Everyone wants us to go but once again we have declined. Hubby and I were discussing it yesterday - if we could make it a two day trip where we stop half way or so and hubby can rest, and finish the drive the next day, it would be good. But it would be 4 days out of the schedule to do that. With working, I don't have that much time to play with.
But I do have our Jailbreak Getaway coming up the end of April and am taking two days off then. Hubby is wanting us to get away in August somewhere to celebrate our anniversary. I may have enough points on a credit card to get us a free night and pay for two or however it works come then. But, where would we go? I don't really have much of a desire to go much of anywhere as hubby can't walk very far and I can't go roaming off on my own. Sadly, I can remember when I was running, and walking, and just enjoying life and being out doing things. Over the years my life has been sucked out of me and now it is nothing more than sitting and crocheting and reading. But I am fighting on the inside to gain back what I have lost. Does any of that make sense? Yes, I'm just rambling here. Sometimes my longings take over.
Yesterday was a quiet day at work and today will be as well. Tomorrow will be, especially as two of my bosses are off tomorrow. I was thinking about taking the day off work as well - but why? I can just keep an eye on the computer should other emails come through and I can get some other things done in the meantime. Maybe I will work on this hall closet I want to get straightened out. It's the one where we have regular medications (i.e., aspirin, etc) and bandages, then our towels and wash cloths and I have a lot of office supplies in there as well. I need to take it all out and straighten it up. And throw away all the expired medications in there. I know we have a lot of things in there that can be disposed of. Dare I get in a cleaning mode? Is that 'desire' like one people say that they 'feel like they want to exercise but then lay down until that feeling goes away'? Or something like that.
Ephesians 2:1-10 (NIV): As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
I am so grateful that God loves us so much that He raised us up with Christ and we will be with Him in the heavenly realms. My children may not walk with Him now, but I am confident that my prayers will be answered and they, too, will realize that grace that has been offered to them through the death and life of Jesus Christ. It is by His grace and mercy for us that we are saved from damnation and hell. They, and many others, laugh and think they have all the time in the world, but the reality is that any of us can leave this world at any time. Accidents happen. Lives are taken. What would your loved ones think of you? What would they do?
For me, I know hubby would not know what to do. He has gotten so dependent upon me for everything. He would never let anyone know that though. Pride is an awful thing and each one of us has to fight with control of it. But in reality, hubby really would be lost. His level of comfort would certainly change. As most lives do when a spouse passes. Ah, now my mind is rambling and wandering again, isn't it! And it's about time I get on the work computer so I need to jump off here. Hope that you have an amazing day!
Blessings!
