My allergies are still driving me crazy... and now I'm wondering if that is the correct diagnosis. I mean, I can sleep all night without sniffling and coughing. If I'm laying down, I'm fine. If I'm not talking, I'm fine. But get upright and talk... well, the coughing starts, the sniffling starts. I dunno. I was fine until hubby came in with my coffee...and asked how I was feeling... and then it started. Should be interesting today as I am sharing at the RV park this morning. I think I'll fix a cup of my mother's remedy for coughing - a cup of hot water with lemon and honey in it. It should clear some of the drainage anyway - which is causing my coughing. And I found a new pimple next to my lip this morning and that is annoying me. I have been praying that God will keep me from coughing and sniffling this morning - and I'm trusting Him to keep me in check!
I'm still working on cleaning off this bed in here so that I can put my Christmas bedspread on it. Not that anyone really sees it. But, I'm not doing decorating as I have in the past - just not feeling it this year. I miss my big sister and well, just am not doing a whole lot. I did buy a Christmas ornament to put on my tree in her memory. I have one for my big brother, my mama, my little brother, and now my big sister. I need to write their info on the back again as the years have caused it to fade. Not that anyone looks at them... but it helps me keep them close for Christmas. I used to light a candle on Christmas Eve and spend a few moments thinking about them, but that fell by the wayside. I should do that again.
I checked my kindle fire last night before going to bed and it was up to 100%. I'll take it off the charger when we get back home from church and see how long it lasts. It could be that the plug had gone bad... just guessing.... I changed the cord and the plug and it charged. Will see how long it lasts. I was charging it almost every other night; may need to do it every night. I'm definitely behind on my Words with Friends since I haven't used it for a few days.
I Peter 5:7 (NKJV): "casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you."
That is one of the scriptures I'm using this morning and it is so true. So many times we hang on to hurts and hangups, grudges and disgruntled things.... when if we bring them to Jesus, He will take care of them for us. It's hard to believe sometimes that just by asking Him, He will do something for us, but He will - it may not be in the timing you want or what you want Him to do, but He will always answer. We just may not recognize the answer. It is always much better to tell God what we are feeling, and ask Him to walk with us through it; give it to Him and let Him take care of it. He loves you. Just as we want to take care of things for our children, God wants to take care of things for us.
I took a lot of the gifts I've bought out to the table late yesterday and decided to wait until we get back from church (and probably after a nap) to wrap. I've got to get everything wrapped and ready to ship out this next week, plus I need to wrap for those here so that I see if I need to find something else or take something back if I bought too many things! I know every year I say this, but I've got to get better organized at this! I remember one year I was organized and had everything bought in November. I've got the majority done - does that count? The bed is 'almost' cleaned off so that I can put the bedspread on it today - once I get the rest of it off. I'm thinking that all I ordered has come in. Surely I don't still have more coming in!
My mind isn't functioning this morning and I need to jump in the shower so will close this off... nothing profound to share this morning. Pray for my sinus' to clear and I don't have drainage and watery eyes while speaking this morning. I have been hearing hubby cough some too... wonder if this isn't allergies but a cold? It's unlike any cold I've ever had so still think mine is allergy... my boss is a nurse and she felt it was just allergies.... oh well,.. whatever it is, hope it goes away soon!
Have an awesome day - it's raining out (still) so keep dry, and keep safe!
Blessings!
