"Oma, come play with me"

Those are words this great-grandma loves to hear.  Yes, we are in Tucson and was able to get early check-in around 1PM yesterday, unloaded our things and then headed over to our granddaughter'shouse.  Oh what fun I (we) had!  I played harder than I have played in years! Every time I would sit down, I'd hear "come play with me"!  And of course I did!  I played with dinosaurs, played in the back yard, played pushing our little one on her balance bike, played with blueberry slime, played hide and go seek, played eating food from her little kitchen....yes, I played yesterday and it felt so good!  I was our great-granddaughter's 'personal playmate' and I had a blast.  How I wish we lived closer!

After dinner last night (Mexican food and of course ate too much and still had leftovers), we came back to our room to relax a bit, let the food settle, before heading to bed.  I really slept good last night. Could it be the soft bed (considering we have a hard mattress at home), could it be I was tired from the dr  ive down?  Or could it be I got the privilege of playing all day with a 4 year old great granddaughter?  LOL  Regardless, I did sleep well last night.  Hubby said he did too. Oh, he refused to let me drive...he had to drive.  He also wouldn't follow the directions I was giving him to cut out time from our house...he had to drive all the way back to the Freeway so that he could go the direction he knew.  I was beyond frustrated - all because he did not like to drive on Grand Ave, which would have taken us straight to I-10.  I crochet'd all the way down so I wouldn't have to see where he was driving.

Today we have already been down to breakfast and hubby is at the desk doing his quiet time.  Our room is really nice.  I like having a couch that we can sit on, and this one has the lounge attached to it.  One complaint in any hotel rom, the light bulbs are so dim!  It is really hard to read from where I'm sitting; hubby has a brighter light at the desk.  I read my devotional and finished a book, but cannot read my Bible cause the print is too small for this light.  It must be a 60 watt or so... I do like my bright lights. The dim light also makes me want to take a nap!

In a couple hours we'll head over to the granddaughter's again for a quick visit this time and then we want to drive up Mt. Lemon.  We had done it several years ago....wonder if anything has changed.  If it's too far from here,  I hope hubby will say it's ok we don't go.   It shouldn't be too far though.  I vaguely remember going the last time several years ago - all we do is drive up, turn around, and drive back down.  Whoopie.  I think they had some shops along the way.  Will have to look it up after I finishhere.  We'll head back home after Mt. Lemon.  I'm not sure what we'll do tomorrow so will have to think about something.

My granddaughter made me jealous!  She has a 'craft room' - a USEABLE craft room!  She has her materials stacked up; her yarn in one section, she knows where everything is that she needs.  I have what many have called the 'craft room' but it's only called that because my yarn and my sewing machine are there.  My material and threads are somewhere in a cabinet in the garage.  I think I pretty much have them together, but no guarantee.  It's sometimes easier to go buy something new to work on than to search through the cabinets in the garage to find if I have something.  I need to finish some of the projects I've got started.  I have grand plans, but then get distracted and go on to something else.  I did make my granddaughter laugh last night.  I confessed that sometimes I overbuy on yarn... not that hubby would say anything about it because I am always working on something.... but I will take the yarn and hide the bags in the garage in a cabinet.  In a few days I will bring it in, put some on the shelf and then start working on a project.  If he notices, he just thinks I've had it on the shelf for awhile. :-) I'm trying to keep the shelves loaded so when I use some, I have to replace it, right?

Glad I got a starbucks card for my birthday.... the coffee here at the hotel is bland... you can tell it is coffee, but it really doesn't have any taste.  That's what happens at times when you have to make a large amount; just can't get the coffee/water ratio right.  I like my coffee to sit up and talk with me in the mornings, you know, Be bold. Be strong. Slap you in the face and say good morning to you. :-)  I do like flavored for those times I like an afternoon coffee...but mornings... yeah, it has to wake me up.  A feat in itself. And this doesn't, which is why I am sitting here wanting to take a nap.

I'm reading a really good book (started last night on my kindle) that talks about re-digging the wells.  I will go in to detail another time, but the basics are we parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, need to re-dig the wells and open the flow of the Holy Spirit in our families.  I've heard a sermon on this and it got me to thinking about that, which is probably why I bought this book.  We need to re-dig the wells of our history for our children, our grandchildren, our great-grandchildren.   Wells in Biblical times were named.  I'll have to think on this one.  What are the names of the wells I need to re-dig for my family?

My mind is not working real well this morning as thinking of things to write about... I guess my breakfast is putting me to sleep, for this coffee certainly isn't waking me up!  I just may try to take a short nap while hubby finishes his quiet time (and will probably sneak in a nap too).  It's only 7:45AM so have plenty of time before we check out and head to the granddaughters.  Don't want to interrupt her routine if she has one.  I'm so glad we had this time with them this week.  It has been a special time for me to be here and play with the great granddaughter and see how well my granddaughter is doing.  I wasn't tired at all while I was with them.  I've always said my grandchildren keep me young, and that's true.  :-)

I'm only rambling so am going to shut up and perhaps try to get that nap.  Got the drive home yet today and I need to stay awake for that. :)

Have a blessed day.
