It fell from the sky like water....

Yes - on my way to Mesa yesterday, about 15 miles into my trip, it started sprinkling.  Then it was heavy enough that I had to use the windshield wipers.  It rained.  It was still pouring when I got to the office, but I was able to park under the canopy.  Within 5 minutes my new executive pulled up next to me so we made the switch of the equipment to his Tundra and then took the laptop inside the building with the hopes he could get online.  He could not.  I had no clue what to do; he called the help desk and it was a 54 minute wait.  So he packed it back up and headed home so that he could catch that 10AM meeting he needed to be on.  I also realized on the way down that a cord might be missing... and it is.  But I don't have it.  I can only determine that it wasn't turned in when the equipment was.  So I found another cord and have it in a box to mail to him this morning.

After I take my car in for an oil change, that is.  I have it scheduled at 8AM (why in the world did I schedule it so early??!!!)  Hubby has a medical test scheduled at 8:15AM so he will be gone to that so I will need to stop at the post office after my car is ready.  May as well mail my sister's birthday gift; I was wanting to wait until Friday to send it, but can send today too.  Save me another trip to the post office.

And I think I have a new wise boss.  He gave me a very nice card with gift cards in it. Wrote a nice note too that he is looking forward to working with me.  Smart move.  Keep me on his side. :-)  Found our he has 4 children; two boys and two girls, with the youngest boy being 5 weeks old.  A new baby!!  He must be in his late 20's or early 30's.  Nice young man.  And my other boss did take me out to brunch.  We had a great time.

Today is the first day of my time off work.  Not really saying 'vacation' as it is only 3 days and the only thing I really have on the agenda is a trip to Tucson.  We go tonight to the Medieval Dinner Theatre.  Did I tell you in another post that I found out that you do not get silverware to eat your meal with and you have to eat with your fingers?  And the soup - you have to pick the bowl up to drink it; hence you want to wear a dark colored shirt. LOL  I don't know if they furnish bibs or not.  My daughter said last night that she bought tickets for the 'Queen's Table' and we will get to wear crowns and get our pictures taken.  After all, we are celebrating my birthday AND I am a Queen, right?  Should be fun.

I am really hoping that I can block specific time to just spend it with God.  I don't have that much planned while off work, so surely I can convince hubby to leave me alone for an extra hour or two.  My guess is that he will also take that time to read in his books.  It will be nice not to have to get dressed and on the computer by 7AM.... but sit here in my jammies if I want and spend my time with my God.  So many times my mind is on what I need to get done so I don't wait to hear Him speak to me.  That's the best part of spending time with Him.  He doesn't always speak, and He won't speak if I don't give Him time to.

What about you?  When you spend your time with Jesus, do you give Him time to answer... or do you just jump up and go about your day?  If we ask for an answer, don't you think we ought to stay and wait to hear what He has to say?  Sometimes it may be what we don't want to hear... we don't want the answer we know He will give us... and you know what.... sometimes that IS the answer.  Think about it.

Can you believe I have been sitting here for a few minutes with things running through my mind... and I can think of nothing to write about?

With nothing to share, guess I will close this off for today.  I hope that you will find joy in your day.  I pray that you will turn your eyes upon Jesus, for He alone is the author and perfector of your faith.  Lean into Him and trust Him for what may come.  He'll always see you through.

Blessings!
