Can't believe that I have been typing in here every day for awhile. But I have sat here this morning and wondered what to write. I probably did that as well when I had those posts of just ramblings of nothing. I can look back at the posts and see some growth in me, and yet, I still see all kinds of emotions as well. I'm sure you have as well. Maybe, because I have nothing to share this morning, I need to take a break from writing every day and just write when I have something to say. But then, how would anyone know my struggles, my hopes, my dreams, my wants, my wishes, my pain, my tears, ... how would anyone know the real 'me'..... is that even a question....
Hubby is getting ready to head off to his Bible study and I will have a bit more time in here before having to get work. I know I will be more than ready to get off at 4PM - we are heading to a restaurant after work to meet our friends for dinner and then go to their place after to play games. They asked if we knew any card games. It's been so long since we have played, I don't remember how to. I remember in the years before this marriage I played Euchre - but I have no idea how to play it now. We've played 'hands and feet', I think it was, with hubby's brother and SIL - but again, it's been a few years. We just don't play games together. He has never been much into games and neither have I. I wasn't raised playing games, if you know what I mean. Some families do play games together. We played with the grandchildren when they were young and came over, but not now. No one has time for games.
Morgan was tough on me last night. Seriously! She upped my weights and counts on some of the exercises. One, the leg extension - dang! She put it on 80 pounds and wanted me to do 50 of them!! I thought she was kidding! She wasn't. And I did it. I did have to take a 10 second break at 40. That was hard! And lunges, of course. She knows I don't like lunges. But - holding 20# on either side, I did three sets. Also did leg presses. Oh, and I cannot forget the squats. Three sets of all except the leg extensions. But it felt good.
Today should be a fairly quiet day at work - I hope, anyway. All the bosses are here. My male boss has been quiet - well, sorta - the past couple of days. I'm sure he is still getting caught up from vacation last week. I hope I don't get buried today. I have been working on the numerous trainings we have that are mandatory. I worked on several of them yesterday and got them out of the way. Hubby kept coming in and asking me if I was working on trainings. Sigh. I wish he would pretend I wasn't at home but at the office and quit interrupting me.
There I go again. Complaining. I'm really trying to stop that.
Philippians 2:14 (NKJV): Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.
I am sure, that like me, you drop complaints on occasion. I'm guilty of it for sure - even if it is just in my mind. I feel we all complain when we don't get our way. Right? We know how life should be; we know how the 'rules' are applied.... and when people don't behave like we think they should.... we complain. When (I) we get interrupted, we complain. When we don't get what we want when we want it - we complain. We are a complaining generation.
But what if we changed that? What if we make it a point that starting today, one day at a time, we will choose to NOT complain, but to rebound that complaint with a positive thought? I'm all for that! I always feel better when I can find a positive in the negative, don't you? Let's see how I can change the negative for the positive. Can I come up with any examples?
Hubby has gone to this bible study. No, that definitely is not a complaint. It's a positive because it helps him as he is with other men and they share, they discuss the Bible, and a book they are going through together. He has breakfast with them. And a positive for me - I'm home alone. (Did I really complain about being 'alone' the other day?)
I have to work. I have a choice to work - and yet, I don't have a choice. Yes, I complain a lot about it, but I do enjoy having money that I can spend. I remember all too well those very lean years of not even having money to buy groceries. I don't like being the sugar momma, especially when hubby wants to know how much I have saved and then complains I don't tell him unless he asks... (that's another story, we had that discussion the other day..... I reminded him that what I save covers HIS expenses such as his $1600 hearing aids - twice. He said 'the insurance paid for them' - and I told him all but $1600 and it went on my credit card, if he remembered. AND he didn't offer to pay it back. He said no more about that!). But I'm not complaining - that's why I save it, to cover expenses. And for my little runaway trips like the one in a couple weeks. I don't have credit card debt. I like to keep them at zero. See, those are all positives.
And - I positively need to get off here and jump in the shower before work. So - with that thought - I'm off here. Hope you have an amazing day - and work on the being positive, ok?
Blessings!
