My eyes are frustrating me some....

Before I had my cataract surgery, I could see close up (nearsightedness) pretty easily.  Distance I always had to wear my glasses.  I did have to wear reading glasses occasionally when I read, depending on the type or lighting around me.  It is frustrating now that I have to wear my reading glasses for nearly everything up close!  And my distance is great without glasses.  As a matter of fact, when I put my regular glasses on - they are basically useless for it blurs everything.  I know the doctor said that after a month they will look at my prescription and I would need new glasses.  I don't want to wear glasses all the time.  They annoy me.  They are heavy on my nose. But I do need to see, so guess I'll do what I need to do.  I mean, I can see 'things' in my normal range, but to read, I definitely need my readers on!  What is funny is that I could never wear my readers for computer work.  It just didn't work.  But now, I wear my readers for working and the computer is so much clearer.  I knew and wasn't expecting that my eyesight would be perfect after this surgery.  But I thought it would be like it was before - only more clear.  Alas... I feel like my vision has 'flipped'.  I liked it better the other way.

Yesterday was a quiet day at work - only a couple meetings I had to work on.  I was able to walk away from the computer and make three pies and fix something in the crock pot for dinner.  My boss said I could take off at 3PM (she was taking off at 2:30PM to learn how to play pickleball.) Her friend had changed her backyard basketball court to a pickleball court - can you even imagine having your very own 'court' in the backyard??!!   So at 3PM I walked away from the computer and just checked it periodically until about 5 until 4PM, then I just shut it down.

But the hour was nice.  I went out side and sat alone in the front courtyard and crochet'd... enjoying the beautiful cool weather and the quiet.  Until I went in to turn off the computer.  Then hubby discovered I was outside and not at the computer, so when I came back out, he followed me.  We sat outside for perhaps another hour before coming back in the house.  And, of course the TV came on.

Had to stop and put the eggs ole' in the oven.  I left the under the cabinet light on (as I have to go back and adjust the temperature shortly) and hubby asked me if I was finished; I had left the light on.  Really?  Am I not an adult.  I don't believe him, I have never noticed it in the three years I have been using those lights... but he said 'they get hot' so we need to turn them off.  Whatever.  It's the little things he overreacts on and tries to control that irritate the heck out of me.  And that is my fault - that I let him get under my skin.  Roll it off, girl, roll it off.  Once it's done, I'll call and see if Ms. Diane is up and will take it over to her and wish her Happy Birthday.

Philippians 4:8-9 (NKJV):  "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you."

Yesterday, Jesus was beaten, whipped, and crucified.  Today, His body lays in the grave.  But tomorrow - Sunday is coming!  Jesus will arise from the grave, defeating satan, defeating death.  How I wish you all knew Him and understood how great His love is for you!  That He would give up His life - that we might live with Him in eternity!

So many people want to discuss the 'end times', what is going to happen in the future - whenever that may be.  They go pre-milennial, (sp) post, etc - and I.Don't.Care.  May I tell you why I don't care about all these discussions?

Because Jesus died for me - I will be living with Him in eternity - and what happens around me, has nothing to do with what He has done IN me.  I choose Jesus.  My 'job' is to make sure I am right with Him when He calls me Home.  It doesn't matter if I die in an accident; fall and break my neck; a bomb explode over me.  It doesn't matter.  Pain will happen if I'm attacked.  But my Jesus will prevail and will not allow me to endure anything that He has not ordained.  He loves me with an immeasurable love.

And He loves you.  He is patiently waiting for you to allow Him to help you live a life that has meaning and peace.  We are the sheep of His pasture.  He knows your name.  Do you hear Him calling you?  Run to Him!  He has so much more for you than you can ever imagine.  He loves you.  I pray this Easter will come alive with meaning for you, that you will accept His love.

Blessings!
