That's what I have been wanting this morning. Quiet. No special reason. But of course it is Thursday and the landscapers are here going at it - so no quiet. But I continued to sit in my chair and had my eyes closed. I just opened them and realized that it is 6:40AM and I haven't written in here yet. And I know of one person who MIGHT miss it.... if I paused for today, but as I just read his blog - and saw two days worth (I am pretty sure I checked it yesterday morning and nothing new was there!) and now I'm wanting to take time to pray some more. And I will. Of course I have already prayed for my children, but this one requires extra prayer today. :-) Cause I love him. Hope he is feeling better soon. I do have antiseptic cream if he wants to use it.... just saying.... doctor prescribed....
I have a skin tag (I really, truly, hate those!) on my body in a location that I have obviously pulled/scratched it and whenever anything rubs against it, it's like someone has lit a match and touched it. Yesterday I put cream on it and a bandaid and it felt better. I took the bandaid off last night - but looks like I may need to put one on again today. Ouch!
I had some things I wanted to share earlier, but at this moment, and with little time to write in here, I'm drawing a blank. What's up with that? Me, who always finds something to write about, am drawing a blank? Due to lack of time, of course.
I am really liking this book titled Liking Jesus by Craig Groeschel. I was able to read a couple chapters in it last night before bed and thus far it is mostly about the time we spend on social media. Some of it is comical, the way he puts it. But, because I know hubby is on his phone constantly (and remember, I mentioned it to him the other night - after all, he had read the book before me!) I have ordered another book to send to my little sister for her birthday next month. Think she will be offended? I am pretty sure she spends a LOT of time on social media.... based on all the reels she sends me - I bet I got 10 yesterday if I stopped to count! And that's just in my messages - not checking messenger! Yes, I also have sent reels to others, not saying I don't do that. But I do try not to overload them. Most of what is sent to me I don't even open. Consider rolling my eyes and seeing something is there to watch - watching it. From my children, or someone who rarely sends anything, that would be different. But frequently, naw, that is too much.
Yesterday was a fairly quiet day. I did sit at my computer all day, and did some work, but no pressure at all going on. My male boss asked if he could call me yesterday - and we chatted a bit. Interesting conversation. And during the night, I remembered he sent me something to take care of for the board that he took away from me. I'm going to email him this morning that either I need to do them both, or he needs to remember to send this information to the person he gave MY board to! He did tell me some goings on within the department/company and asked me not to share. So I can't even share here. But if it happens, it may very well increase my workload - or he will need to get a new admin. Enough said.
And - sorry this is so short and it's my fault this morning. But I needed to just sit and be still for a bit - but I took longer in that mode than I meant to. I think we all need to do that once in a while. Sit back. Close your eyes. (No, not to sleep) and Be Still.
Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God.
My favorite verse. Or one of them. But in the stillness of the moment, reflect on who He is. Worship Him. Praise Him. Love Him. Be in awe of Him. He is worth it.
Blessings!
