lives will be changed from today. My heart is heavy over a family situation and today some things may be decided - whether I think they are good or not - it is not in my hands. But, I know who IS our Advocate, and I am asking Him to intervene in this situation and show grace. But then, grace may not be what I want it to be. Grace may be something I don't agree with; but is the better thing. I cannot worry about it; I can only pray and put it in Jesus' hands and ask Him to protect, to show favor, to give grace.
Yesterday's board meeting went better than I thought it would. Seriously. I didn't think anyone was prepared, but they worked overtime and got things done. So grateful that I do not have to put the powerpoint and slides together at all. I did have to do one correction; the next board meeting date was wrong. Can you believe it - the next board meeting is on my birthday! I think I captured all I needed to for the minutes and will review them today and send them on to my boss for his approval and then will upload to Teams folder.
Hubby has another MRi this morning. He commented last night that he couldn't remember what this one was for - or even which doctor it was for. He has had several scans and MRIs lately from different doctors so I understand not remembering which one. I do think he figured it out as to which doctor, and with that, we know what the MRI is for. He has to fast this morning before he goes so I am guessing that they may insert a dye in his veins? Oh wait - is that for a cat scan? Now I don't have a clue. He just said that he had to fast.
Still working on the trainings I have to do for the office... I think I've gotten it down to 6 left out of 20. Will see how today goes; I may attack another one. The sooner I get them done, the sooner I'm 'over it'. Very few of these even apply to me which makes it frustrating. But everyone, even the President of the organization, has to take them, so I'm not alone.
Romans 12:12 (NKJV): "....rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer,...."
I think that sums it up today. We have hope in the future, but must be patient in what things are happening that we cannot control, and we need to continue to pray... praying steadfastly, continuously, that God will intervene in all situations.
Psalm 34:18 (NIV): "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Oh that we would only realize how close God is to us when we feel broken! When life throws its darts at us and they hit and prick and hurt.... God is always close to us. So many times the pain comes from outside sources; from those who wound us with words and from those who do things that hurt us although it isn't about us. Our heart grieves for those who make unwise choices and then has to suffer the consequences. Only if they would realize how much God loves them and how near He is to them!
So many of my family have walked away from God, but one has hurt me more. Their excuse for walking away is .... well.. not going to go there. I pray for them that their eyes will be opened to how good God has been to them, in spite of them turning away from Him. Each of my children, and some of my grandchildren, accepted Christ in their teens. But now... and my heart grieves for those who feel the world holds more for them or they feel that God has let them down and didn't respond when they wanted Him to; they didn't get what they wanted, so they chose to walk away from Him. Oh that each one would turn their heart back to Him and know that He alone is God!
I can honestly tell you that if I didn't have God in my life, directing my path, I would not be where I am today. I know I'm not perfect; I know I still make mistakes. I know I still make people angry at me. But God loves me anyway and He hears me and because I know He hears me, I know He has forgiven me more times than I care to admit.
Psalm 51:10-12 (NIV): "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me."
Psalm 51 is a psalm that I read to God frequently, crying out to Him from my heart, to search my heart and know me; to cleanse me from all unrighteousness and to set my feet on solid ground. Only He can do that. Not this world; not any person. Only Jesus.
Won't you pause and return to Him today? He is waiting on you; ready to forgive and gather you close to His heart.
Blessings!
