Maybe too much water?

I think I finished off my full gallon of water yesterday. And sitting at my daughter's house last night (Girls night out) crocheting, all of a sudden I felt completely exhausted.  I gathered my things and came home about 20-30 minutes early.  I didn't have much time alone for hubby was home about five minutes after I got home.  But I was so tired and hubby fixed the bed (pulled back the covers - it's 'his thing' to do every night) and we both went to bed.  I crashed.  I also woke up 2-3 times during the night to go pee!  I think I will cut back on the water.  LOL  Hubby's doctor told him to drink 80 ounces of water a day - because he was barely getting 16 ounces in, I think.  On the other hand, I do drink a lot of water as a rule.  Maybe I'll drop it down to 90 ounces or so.  Definitely not a gallon.  Getting up to pee every other hour during the night is just not my thing.  You needed to know that, didn't you?

Speaking of doctors.... I ate humble pie yesterday and called hubby's doctor's office and asked if he would take me on as a new patient.  Yes I did.  His dad was my doctor for over 30 years and I always felt so well cared for.  I've struggled with the doctors I've had since them, if you remember my comments about them. I've had 4 I think in the past 10 years.  1) I went to NOAH and was assigned a doctor and was told by him he was resigning that month and I would be reassigned. COVID hit before my next appointment so I spoke virtual with another doctor.  I left there and went to Dr. L and he never could remember why I was there.  I'd come in for a well check up and he would come in and talk and then ask, "what are you here for?  Oh you are fine, get some lab work done and we'll check in six months."  I left there and went to Dr. R who I really liked - until I was scheduled for my well check-up (scheduled a year in advance) and I was reminded that morning by the office of the appointment, then I get a call that the doctor wasn't coming in. I needed to reschedule.  Now mind you, my appointment was August 14th.  I could not get in for an appointment until April 3rd!!  I left there and went to Dr. M, whom I have 'seen' three times since then for my yearly checkups.  Praise God I am healthy and only need to go once a year.  Last year, two weeks before my appointment, I asked if I could get a chest x-ray and an EKG as heart disease runs in my family and I asked if we could get a baseline.  I hadn't had either since I had left my original doctor when he retired.  Dr. M comes in and goes "Oh I didn't read your note in time, it's too late to do it this year."  What does that mean?  So I have been disgruntled ever since with feeling... well, let me continue with this...

You know I got several scorpion bites last October.  Went to Urgent Care, then to the dermatologist. Things were not getting better so after a couple visits to the dermatologist, I called Dr. M's office in November and asked to get in and let her take a look at the bites, which were not going away and were still causing me pain.  Due to the holiday it could be a couple week or more.  I decided to wait it out.  In January, some of the spots were still inflamed so I called Dr. M's office again and long story short - I was told by her assistant that I needed to go back to my dermatologist as Dr. M was too busy to see me.  I repeated it back to the assistant if I was hearing her right, she was refusing to give me an appointment with Dr. M over this medical issue and sending me to my dermatologist.  She stated that was correct.  Backing up a bit, I had already been chatting in the portal with Dr. M and telling her what I was experiencing. She KNEW I was going to be contacting her office to see her.  Didn't matter.  The assistant would not give me an appointment.  I have never been refused a doctor appointment before and that did upset me.

So - after all that background information, I call Dr. Mark's office and they called me back (I had left a voicemail).  They needed more information on my insurance.  I contacted my insurance company and made sure that he was in network.  He is, not for the maximum savings I would get from a company doctor, but 'standard savings'.  I don't care; I just want someone to care about me and my health and to make sure I stay healthy.  Someone I know will see me for whatever reason I call, and will not turn me away.  I got the information needed on my insurance and I had to mail it to the doctor's office as I didn't have a fax machine.  Dropped it off on my way to my daughter's last night at the post office.  They should have the information by Friday, and I expect to hear from them on Monday.

Nothing is going on with me (other than the sore throat, which will go away) so I don't need an immediate appointment.  I know that I will have to pay more for this office visit.  But again, I will only see him once or twice a year unless something happens.  I will pay the extra that I need to so that I can feel like I am being taken care of and listened to.  Does that make sense?  A couple years ago I created a sheet with all my parents and siblings medical history and listed all the doctors that I was seeing.  I guess I need to look at it and see who I am not seeing now and who I am (can't think of any new ones) so that I can give Dr. Mark an updated copy without me having to handwrite all the info in the blanks on the 'new patient' sheet.  I don't know if he will say yes or no (he and I had a spat just before I left the office because I didn't like a bill I had received.  Yes, I ended up paying it, but I protested!!) but I swallowed my pride and called his office.  I feel it is a win for me, even with the extra cost.  I always had to pay this office, even when I went to his dad, for they didn't always take my insurance over the years.  I'm willing to do it as long as I can financially.... and he is in network so it won't be too bad.  I just want attention.  Is that so bad?

So after all my rambling this morning on my doctors - what has been your experience?  I know my oldest son doesn't like Dr. Mark because he tells him what he doesn't want to do. :-)   But, hubby has gone to Dr. Mark for years (after transferring over from his dad) and I've known Dr. Mark to be as thorough as his dad was.  I miss the personal attention.

Acts 10:38 (NIV):  how God appointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how He went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with Him.

Jesus is our ultimate Healer.  Sometimes we pray for healing and it happens.  Sometimes we have to go to doctors and let God use them to bring healing.  But, ultimately, Jesus is our Healer.  And our healing comes in different ways.  Sometimes our healing comes with death.  Sometimes are healing comes with complications.  But over all, Jesus is our Healer of all things.

Do I trust Jesus?  Absolutely.  Do I believe that He will heal those (and me) when I ask for it?  Yes I do. I've seen His hand bring healing to others.  I've had people come to me and tell me that after I prayed for them, they were given the report of healing.  I know that Jesus has healed me in numerous ways.  Sometimes I've prayed, as you know, for healing for others, and my living request of healing was denied.  I can't tell you the anguish I felt when the answer was 'No' to my living request of healing.  But healing was complete when they passed away.  That still hurts and I don't understand why He didn't do a miracle I begged for.  But life isn't my call.  Healing is not my call.

Ah, my mind began to wander, and I wrote a paragraph and decided to delete it.  Sometimes my own personal memories of disappointment in answered prayers brings back pain, just as it does in you.  Sometimes even in the pain of the thinking of memories, there is good.  Never forget that.

And with that, I need to jump off here and get ready to start my work day.  As much as I complain about having to work, I thank God for my job, I thank Him that I can work from home, and I thank Him that I can still work.  It's all for His glory.  May your day be blessed.

Blessings!
