Got some things done....

Hubby kept coughing yesterday morning so after writing in here I went and asked if he still wanted to physically go to church with his coughing.  He said "really, no."  So we did watch church online and the message by Pastor George on James 5 was very good.  I didn't cook us breakfast, but got busy with some things I wanted to do. My favorite things.  Like cooking.   I was able to get 7 and then some half pints of my cranberry strawberry jam made.  Then I made up batches of eggs ole.  Yep. More than one.  I took some over to Ms. Vicky last night and we visited for over an hour.  I have some to take over to Ms. Diane this evening.   I got 'rid' of more late afternoon when the daughter and SIL stopped by to put the rail on my rebounder (trampoline).  I couldn't get it on it when I first bought it - and mentioned recently that it would be nice to have it so I wouldn't have to watch my steps all the time.  So it took very few minutes but the SIL had it put together right where I wanted it.  And when hubby looked at it, it was "Oh good, now I can use it and have something to balance myself with."  And that's ok.  He needs to move his legs and not have them laying on the recliner all day, if you know what I mean.

I wonder what my work day will be like.  My favorite boss is still out on PTO until Wednesday, and my 'un-favorite' boss is working.  Friday wasn't too bad.  He drives me nuts at times. He will send me an instant message with 'can you look at my calendar and tell me when such and such meeting is?"  Thank goodness I keep a log of when he asked for the meeting, who it is with, the name of the meeting, and when I scheduled it.  It beats skimming the calendars for when it could be.

Hubby has already started 'complaining' about his busy day today.  He has his training at 9AM, then I think it is 1:15PM he has to do labwork, and then a 4PM appointment, I think, at his cardiologist.  He has a hearing aid appointment too this week, but it may be tomorrow.  He's heeding some of my advice. When he is just sitting at home, don't wear his hearing aids so that his sweat doesn't corrode the battery. Just wear when he goes to his studies, doctor appointments, or church.  I had some amplifiers that I had purchased to connect to my phone, but I don't like them so gave those to him. Told him to connect to his phone and when he gets a call, slide them on and he can hear them.  I prefer my Philipps headset that I have - it's still wireless, but it wraps around my neck and into my ears.  I use it when I talk with my sister or brother - or anyone else for any length of time - and don't want to sit and hold my phone next to my ear.  I have things I can do with my hands while on the phone.  Might be a nice gift for someone who uses their phone a lot.  I'll have to think about it.  Maybe write it down.  But then, some people don't want to do anything while on the phone.  But I am usually crocheting or cooking or just walking or jumping on my rebounder.  I CAN do two things at once - once in awhile. :-)

I must say I feel like I had a good weekend.  I got to see my oldest son twice, talked to my youngest son a few times, and saw my daughter yesterday.  Yeah, it was a good weekend.  Plus I got to make my jam and eggs ole. :-)  Hubby doesn't mind my baking and giving away, but I do need to keep a rein on it as it can be expensive.  Right now I'm trying to think of something special for Ms. Vicky - her birthday is Sunday and I think she will be 76 - I think we are the same age. Or she is a year older. Anyway, I'm thinking of doing something for her and taking over Saturday, as I hope her daughter will visit her on Sunday and take her out.  Maybe we can take her to a restaurant as she doesn't go that often.

Which reminds me - I read in 'Next Door' that the Coco's that was near us and closed down last year - we've noticed it has been painted and lots of work done on it - I read that it is going to be a Mexican restaurant called 'Taco Boys'.  Sounds more like fast food, doesn't it?  Whether true or not - it should open soon.  The Coco's sign is still up and I've also read they don't want to advertise until they are ready to open and then will change the sign.  Wouldn't whoever reported the change in restaurant be surprised if it reopened as Coco's.  They did have decent food; it was just slow service.

I think my training is at 5:30PM tonight.  I don't really like to go that late, but it's ok.  It just makes us eat later than usual as I can't eat before I train.  Although, tonight is just upper body - and we did back a couple weeks ago, so it may be biceps/triceps tonight.  Can't wait until Thursday - my training is HIIT and you know how much I love the challenge of doing those.  My core training from last Wednesday - I felt it through yesterday!  Which is a good thing.  Now to quit eating junk and get back on track. I've way fallen down on the Virta plan.  God created fruit and He aid it was good.  I can't help it that it has carbs in it!  I love fruit!  I bought peaches and nectarines.  I have apples although I don't eat those often. Fruit is good.  It's the stupid carbs.  So yeah, I've fallen down on the Virta plan. I'm thinking of contacting them to cancel it. I forget to check the ketones in the evening before we eat.  I usually remember to jump on the scale when I get up (it goes straight to the app), and usually remember to do the glucose (way too high this morning, thanks to all my eating eggs ole last night - I was so hungry I ate 3 pieces!!  But it may have been the wine I had at Ms. Vicky's....)  but I'm not sticking to their very low carb plan.  I think they moved me to 40 carbs a day - do you realize how hard that is?  I drink a SF Butterfinger protein shake from One Stop Nutrition and that alone is 29 carbs!!  And that's if I specifically ask for the 'low-carb' - who knows if that is what they give me!  Their regular SF Butterfinger Shake has 59 carbs, if I recall correctly!   But they are oh so good.  Tastes just like a butterfinger!!  We are addicted.

Have you ever been in a place and your spirit felt unsettled?  Perhaps you looked around the room and everyone was talking to each other and perhaps even looked your way and nodded, or waved - and yet, you felt that perhaps you shouldn't be there.  That has happened to me a few times.  Sometimes I have ignored that feeling and stayed (and usually regretted staying), or I turned around and left.  Seriously, I have walked into little shops in the mall before and felt uneasy and would turn and leave.  I remember years ago I went into an antique shop and was walking around in a back room and I just felt so uneasy and had to quickly find my way out the door.  No reason for it; I just didn't feel like I should be there.

Sometimes that is God letting you know you need to leave.  There can be various reasons for it.  One may be that something was going to happen and God wanted you OUT of the at place.  Another may be that an evil spirit was there and your God-spirit within you (or covering you by other's prayers) was telling you that it wasn't a place you needed to be.  Pause and think about it.  When have you felt that way - and how did you react?

It's like in church services, or even watching services on You Tube.  There have been times hubby and I have felt the Holy Spirit in the living room with us as we listened to a service (COVID kept us home, remember?  That 'habit' is hard to break.).  Other times we would look at each other and go 'What was that?' because the message was all over the place.  And it even happened with one of our favorite pastors on You Tube.  But is it the message they were providing, or were we in a place that needed to be looked at?  If we are already distracted (or angry) with things around us, sometimes it is hard to focus on what is being shared.  We need to quiet ourselves and tune our hearts in to the message and wait for God to reveal to us what He wants to say to us.

Pastors nowadays are getting lax in preaching the Gospel message.  They are afraid of shrinking congregations, or less tithe coming in, or even the emails and reprimands that follow many times after a message - and they have quit preaching the Word.  They sugarcoat it.  And God will hold them accountable for that.

The one thing you need to know - God's Word stands all by itself.  You cannot add to it, nor take away from it.  I often say when I preach at the RV parks, if I say anything that you disagree with, look it up in your Bible.  If I am wrong, correct me.  I never want to go against the Word of the Lord.  Preaching God's Word is easy; He has provided everything we need in His Word in order to live our lives for Him alone.  Take a look at the Ten Commandments.  Yes, they are Commandments, and not suggestions.  Just a couple - Don't love someone more than God - that's an idol (even if it is your child or spouse!).  Don't take God's name in vain - would you want someone to use YOUR name like that?  His name is to be honored - just as you want your name to be honored.  Honor your father and mother - and read the rest of that - so that you will have a long life.  These are GOOD commandments, and they will help you live life well.  Which ones are you following closely?  Which ones do you need to work on?

Matthew 22:37 (NIV):  Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.

When you do this, you will do well.

Blessings!
